Despite his views on the whole tower thing, Kairi had to admit, he liked San. She took no s**t from anyone, and had an absolutely zero tolerance for stupid s**t. It was almost entertaining watching the woman. Then again she did grant his request, in a sense. But it was also a challenge. Granted he could probably teach anyone how to defend themselves in CQB but that would depend on how open to instruction the student was. Which this girl seemed FAR from open to. Letting out a light sigh he smirked,"I prefer to think of it less as ambition and more as, the promise of redemption." Placing his palm on his chest he dipped his head,"By your orders Milady."
However he was talking a hefty game. The girl was clearly stubborn and responded poorly to authority. She wasn't in it for the cash or safety. She didn't seem the type to care about rank or status or adventure. So why was she here? The only logical answer he had left was that she had taken up this path because she sought power. If he was right then he could use that to at least get her to pay attention long enough for him to teach her. It might even keep her alive long enough to get the power she sought for whatever reason it was she sought it so. Giving a light nod to the woman he spoke simply," Well Orupoka I guess your stuck with the a*****e. Maybe I can teach you how to live long enough to actually get strong enough to pose a threat. Not to mention help you fix whatever that thing before was that you call a stance. Meet me in the dojo in half an hour."
Dipping his head again to San,"By your leave Milady." With that he turned on heel and headed out of the office and down the stairs in short order.

Lilah couldn't really say anything in regards to what San said. After all, she had been told why she was here. She honestly wished she didn't even have to meet the kage. She was sure some Genin might jump at the chance but seeing the kage for her made her angry. She had purposely kept away from her best as she could for that exact reason. If she lost her temper and attacked the kage that would be it. She had no delusions of being the strongest here or anything. She was well aware of her mortality and the fact that ninja was ruthless. That was no different for the Uzukage either. It was then that she was thrown a headband. She caught it and was at least glad the kage handled it this way. The last thing she wanted was some stupid ceremony or something. She looked down at the headband and suddenly a memory played in her head. It was one of those memories from the war that she didn't like to think about. She was looking at a headband of a leaf ninja she had just killed. It had been lucky as the ninja had been occupied with one of her "comrades". She had managed to stab him in the throat and now she was covered with blood. It had been raining that day as well. She had picked up the leaf headband and just stared at it back then too. It was only when another enemy tried to jump her did she snap out of it. Her Byakugan saving her life once more, though it was also thanks to the fact she wasn't alone. When Kairi actually said anything to her she barely heard it and her response was about the same. "Yeah....sure...whatever."
Kairi had left and Lilah was still looking at the headband. In fact, she had been like that for a solid few minutes. She finally snapped out of it and suddenly noticed the lack of Kairi and the fact she was alone with the Kage now. She basically fell and slumped into one of the seats as she squeezed her bandaged arm. Occasionally she would have memories like this but normally she would just block them out or ignore them. Her heart was pounding at this point and her eyes and expression were almost back to how it used to be. "Could I ask you a question? How much do you know about me? I know I was required to give out some things. Like the fact I was abducted to fight. But I can't help but wonder if you know why I'm even here? That's a stupid question actually, a kage wouldn't know about some weak genin girl." She tried to bring her breathing under control and calm herself. What was she even doing, she was asking to be killed. If the kage or anyone in this village knew one of the reasons why she was here she'd probably be killed. Getting revenge was fine but hating this village and having the same type of hatred as with the UHV would be enough. She'd be condemned as a traitor immediately if her thoughts were out in the open. "I'm not arrogant or stupid. I'm well aware of how weak I am compared to many ninjas in this village alone. The war taught me just how weak I am." She wanted to get out of here but she also needed to calm herself so she could properly leave. Looking at the kage made her want to ask a real question. One she wanted to ask for a long time. Why did the leaf village do nothing while places like her town got terrorized? Perhaps she didn't really want to hear the answer to that.
The way Lilah lingered after Kairi left concerned San. Not in the sense of concern for her own well being but because it was difficult to see someone a decade younger than herself so lost in life. Nagakabouros required one to have clarity, as understanding what you wanted was a prerequisite to chasing your destiny. Stagnation was death. Only those who dwell on the past of their own thoughts often became lost. Hopefully she could provide some clarity. "I know that you choose the streets over housing, hunger over money for food, and that you're very angry." It wasn't much but she knew enough to have an idea of the person standing in front of her. However when the girl waxed on about being weak San simply sighed. "I make a point of knowing something about everyone in the village. It keeps people from becoming inked numbers on a scroll. Now if you want to stop being a sad puppy around my office Kairi is waiting for you at the dojo."

Lilah was surprised she answered her question despite the fact that it was kinda silly. Though by the time the Kage finished speaking she seemed to be back to normal. She stood up and spoke about what the Kage had said. "I'm not sad, I know I'm weak but that won't be the case for long. You are right though I am angry. Interesting why you get to know something about people. Normally I'm not like this, I'm usually so much more...focused. I'm fine now so I'll be leaving." She used the word focused but in truth it was just a substitute for hatred. She used hatred and anger to stop things from affecting her emotionally. Normally memories from the war didn't affect her too much. Guess she simply let her guard down for a second, a mistake she would try to correct for the future. With that said she left the office and headed down the stairs. Unfortunately, she now had to deal with Kairi. She would have to ask him about what his name made him sound like a girl, now that she knew it. If only she could have trained on her own, but the Kage clearly had a sense of humor. One more thing to hate her for even if it was petty.
tab Upon arriving at the Uzukage's Office, Inikko looked in amazement at what she had there in store. Scrolls and paperwork galore. The glamorous life of a Kage; essentially surrounded by paperwork to keep the village in balance with all the other business and villages of the world. Inikko walked into the main lobby to see if there was anyone there she could talk to about receiving a mission. The Mission board did mention a mission that would intrigue her, but there was no one who was assigned as a client so who better to ask than the Kage herself.
"Hello..." Inikko said as she waited for a reply. "I'm here about a mission that I saw on the board. Can anyone assist me?" She said in a seemingly timid voice. This was an awe inspiring situation for her and she did not act like her normal self. This was the Kage we were talking about, not just some random person.

Though he had seen it before - and often, from many parts of the village - he had never forgotten how stunning the office of the Uzukage truly was. And, for that matter, the whole of the Central Admin Building. All of government laid within a charming, sculpted environment . . . with water cascading down, like a collection of fountains that stood tall like spires. The dome-capped roofing and the Uzukage's handsome tower were equally stunning, and truly, Shinsei admired the Uzumaki's architecture.
But they were not here for the admiration of architecture. What mattered was that they professed the words of Chie, and in truth Shinsei, informing Lady Sanae of the subtle dangers posed by what appeared to be a wandering group of rogues. They had been assigned a real, genuine mission by their academy teacher for this purpose -- to inform the Kage of a pressing issue.
And Shinsei, perhaps proudly, was at the forefront of that. He had experienced it directly, and had regaled the brief tale to Chie, who now acted accordingly. He would too - if not mostly because of how interesting the situation was. It appeared he'd made the right choice, telling his teacher. Now, they'd all get to meet the Uzukage . . . with pertinent details of an event.
The four students were escorted through the Admin Building by a seemingly helpful employee, who likely worked within a different department of the bureaucracy, but found their youthful excitement and 'important task' to be charming, at least on the surface level. When Shinsei responded to the majority of her questions with cold shrugs and peering, almost judgmental expressions, her own enthusiasm waned. Though of course, he was certain that Sumiko had many things to contribute to the conversation.
She was a . . . flagrant one.
Finally, though, they had arrived at the door that separated the Uzukage -- if she was present -- and them. Shinsei, perhaps forgetting his tact, simply opened the door and glanced within. It appeared that the Uzukage was present, though he was uncertain whether or not he should speak. So, instead, he remained deathly silent -- staring forward with stifled words, his courage sinking now that he was actually present.
He did not seem scared, though. Just... a little apprehensive. With a glance to the side, he found himself deferring to Sumiko, hoping she would either introduce them or... explain some of the situation. On second thought, though, that seemed like a bad idea. Sumiko was... a little insane. [8]

WRENxxxxxSENJU [enter with another short post] Wren followed along quietly behind the group, not really objecting to any moves they might have made along the way. The two boys seemed easy-going enough upon first impression, but Sumiko... that girl was volatile to say the least; making himself even more of a target for her wrath than he already was wasn't exactly top priority. For now, He'd stick close to the other two.
The halls of the main admin building seemed a world apart from the rest of Uzushiogakure. Instead of bright cheery faces, only the dull, lifeless eyes of drone workers looked back. It was like a bee hive, and the center of it all was the Queen Bee, the Uzukage. Sumiko knew who she was. Not simply through her reputation as the Uzukage, but through a much deeper tie. The Uzukage was like her: an Uzumaki. Sumiko did not despise the name, but it felt strange in her mind. She had been raised by her father's side of the family, not her mother's Uzumaki side. The Uzumaki were always just those strange relatives that she saw once or twice a year when tradition dictate they acknowledge each other's existence. The family politics were far above Sumiko, but she knew enough that a state of cold war existed between her father and mother. Who knew how the Uzukage would treat her. Would she welcome this long lost Uzumaki back into the fold, or would she simply treat her like another drone in her legion of shinobi. Part of her wondered if the Uzukage would even acknowledge her existence.
As they worked their way to the Uzukage's office, hundreds of scenarios for the meeting began to play out in Sumiko's mind. While on the outside, she like to feign ignorance of laziness, everything was a plan and thought out in advance. There were no impromptu moves in her plans, only contingencies in the event of emergency. The mission to meet the Uzukage was one of those rare exceptions where Sumiko had to come up with the plan on the fly. She was so distracted with thinking of how the meeting would go, she didn't notice that they had arrived and Shinsei had simply stepped into the room without so much as a polite knock or introduction. Sumiko instantly raced to his side, jabbing him in the gut and pushing down on his shoulder to get him to bow at the waist as she did the same. "Forgive us for barging in obaa-sama. We were ordered to report here as fast as we could by our teacher at the academy. She wanted us to report that rogues have entered the village and even attempted to recruit academy students." Sumiko rose her bow and motioned to Shinsei, who she hoped she hadn't nudged too hard. "This is the student that directly encountered them, Shinsei Sanada." Sumiko hoped that her hasty apology and the pressing nature of the mission would make up for them simply walking straight into the office of the highest ranking person in the village. Behind her, Sumiko could sense the feeling of dread building up in the Uzukage's secretary, who was likely planning on murdering them for walking right past. [8]

Koutetsu panted as he had started second in line, but was quickly out paced by his impromptu squadmates. Taking up the tail end position, Koutetsu kept a look out for anyone fitting the description of the rogues. If they happened to catch wind of our orders, they may try to stop us for their own protection. Remember: Thin, blue hair, female, Blue outfit; Blonde, Male in a kimono, he thought as he glanced around trying to pick out anyone fitting that description. Making it to the administration building, he watched as the boy who brought the news to sensei asked for directions from an aide. Following along quietly, or as quietly as his heavy footfalls could be, Koutetsu kept an eye out as he ran the info through his head again, Uzukage is based on top floor of central building. Good, we're heading there. Rogues description: Thin, Blue hair, Female in blue; Blonde male, in a kimono. Got it.
Making it to the doors of the Uzukage's office, he bowed to the aide, "Thank you for your assistance." Koutetsu turned to address the secretary only to see Shinsei and Sumiko had just barged in to the office. Bowing deeply to the secretary in apology, "We're sorry. Emergency." he said straightening up and following in after Wren. As soon as he entered, he looked around the room before noticing the Uzukage. She was taller than him, with long red hair that was as wild as it was flowing, Wow, he thought flushing a little, before shaking his head to focus on task. "Uzukage-sama. Sensei said the rogues were a Blue haired female wearing navy blue and a Blonde male in a Kimono." Having just learned Shinsei's name, he followed with, "Shinsei can give more details."

Class Disciplines

Additionally, they start with the following four techniques, rather than the six most ninja do: Bushi Ken no Jutsu [ Samurai Sabre Technique ], Shunshin no Jutsu [ Body Flicker Technique ], Kai [ Release ], and Kawarimi no Jutsu [ Substitution Technique ]. ____Mystic Hero(Mimic via Balanced Master): β You are much like a hybrid warrior, focusing on mixing ninjutsu into your personal arsenal. Through your great devotion to this path you can cast ninjutsu can cast ninjutsu up to your body rank without hand seals while wielding a weapon. These techniques maintain the same description and criteria to use and require the same amount of time to mold the chakra through the weapon as would be needed to perform hand seals, meaning the techniques are not instantaneously cast. They also cannot be molded during another attack, meaning you cannot be swinging a sword and using this discipline to charge a ninjutsu at the same time. You also gain 2 extra ninjutsu slots per rank. Second Class: Worker ____Balanced Master: β This discipline mimics one of the user's other class's non-chosen disciplines. While San was busy doing her normal paperwork her dull day was interrupted by a gaggle of students ranging from children to damn near adults. She put down her pen and looked them all over with her one golden eye. The first was older and did not speak. He seemed to be holding back in her opinion. Why? Unknown. Then there was a rather short boy barely a teenager by the looks of him. He remained quiet as well. Then there was a girl, red of hair with plenty to spare. San eyed her features and though somewhat masked she could tell the girl bore Uzumaki heritage. She knew of one such child since kept track of her clan's affairs. It was a troubling situation but not one she had a right to interfere with in the absence of a real reason to. Of course like most Uzumaki the girl had a big mouth. "Obaa... sama?" San blinked once with confusion or rather utter disbelief. What kind of person would simultaneously refer to her as an old lady but also still give honor? "You make it sound like I have one foot in the grave yo! " That damn yo slipped out again, try as she might it had proved impossible to fully rid herself of it even after five years.
As she protested the comment on her age, San was far more concerned with the actual news delivered. Though in part her refusal to react outright to it was to not alarm the students before her. Still it did need to be addressed. The youth with blue hair helped her to segue into broaching that topic. "So Shinsei... tell me everything." she asked while her one and only arm rested on the table. More details were good but ultimately this incident would be referred to VORTEX. Still it didn't hurt to humor the kids.

The Uzukage addressed him. Her dialogue with Sumiko had been... unique, to say the least of it; they spoke so casually, he had almost forgotten they were in the most prestigious office in the entire city. Obaa-sama. She referred to Sanae as her grandmother. He supposed that made sense, considering she was the Uzumaki matriarch.
Sanae was an interesting woman, already. He could tell by her posture and the way in which she glanced upon them, that she was withholding information or . . . not taking them entirely seriously. Perhaps she was gauging them, or perhaps she just thought it was cute that a cabal of Academy Students had showed up at her office on a 'top-secret' mission. Regardless, Shinsei had been asked to regale the story, and so he would. It was... honestly quite exhilarating, every breath - speaking to such an important person. A rolemodel for so many.
One of the architects for allowing his family, refugees of Konohagakure no Sato, to come here. He had been a rebellious man - a true teenager in form. He'd expressed disregard to the village itself. Now, he was standing before its guardian and... it felt so strange.
"The blond haired man in the blue kimono, Takumi, followed me into a secluded room of the Academy . . . the room of my former sensei. I went there to collect my thoughts, but he stood in the doorway before approaching me, expressing... ideas of what appeared to be a sort of revolution. He stated wanting to cast down the Daimyo, and he questioned the values taught to me in the Academy. He claimed that the village was clouding my beliefs, and views of other people. And stated that the students were being taught to... mindlessly indulge in village fallacies." He was paraphrasing.
But that was much of what he was told, only in a more succinct manner. "After some time of these words, he asked that I come find him when I'm... done with the village, essentially, and encouraged me to do so. In essence, he attempted to recruit me into joining his rogue, anti-Daimyo, anti-Village organization. So . . . I informed Chie. That's the story. Not the most long-winded or exciting, but... I believe it's important to tell you, considering these rogue shinobi were given free reign within the village. They could have 'corrupted' other Academy Students, or... even killed some of us. I believe that's why Chie was so worried."
And with that, he sealed his lips, his chest falling as the final heavy breaths escaped with his words. It was embarrassing, and nerve-wracking, to get that all out so tightly bound before the Kage and his peers. But he had spoken, and was happy with himself for doing so. Now, he could return to the quiet, and see what the Uzumaki woman would say. [10]
Respectfully calling Sanae an old lady seemed to have been a bit too much of a risk. It seemed to cause her already warm Uzumaki blood to boil. Sumiko was a little surprised to see just how alike they could be with their tempers however. Maybe she got her fiery side from the Uzumaki in her. Tattekuso, might as well play nice while the rest of the students are here. I am on a mission after all. I can mess with obaaaaaa-chan later. Sumiko ran a hand through her hair, pushing it out of her face as she mustered up a very poor attempt at an apology. "Forgive me, Onee-sama. I had no idea you were still so lively and full of energy, yo." It would be interesting to see how Sanae would react to Sumiko co-opting her slang.
Slowly, the rest of the squad had trickled into the room, with Wren remaining completely silent and Koutetsu giving a quick account as to why they were in the room. It wasn't till Shinsei spoke that Sumiko really paid attention.
