Lieutenant Strengite - 48HP

It took a bit but as Strengite watched others try the crystals, each tube chiming softly with the melody, the nega Lieutenant was pretty sure she had finally figured it out. It was just like the songs she danced too. She just needed to figure out the rhythm and go with it, letting it swirl around her and direct her moves. Granted the eerie lilting tune sucked monkey balls when it came to dancing, especially when it came to her form of dancing, but that didn't mean she couldn't use the same principals to beat this damn challenge.

With this in mind she drifted back over to the right, one ear listening to the tune that the room played and the other focusing on the tubes. No... no... no... maybe... The pale haired nega officer absently bit her lip as she moved slowly along the wall, listening but not touching anything. She didn't want to repeat the 'penalty' of last time. That one shock had been more than enough to warn her that this place was playing for keeps, no matter how much it seemed to be a children's game. She was determined to get this try right... hopefully.

No matter how fierce she acted there was still the worry that she would get zapped again and that would just ******** suck so Strengite hesitated. Two tubes, both so close in sound it was hard to pick from but pick she needed to do, if only so she could finally get through the door that defied her last time. Gritting her teeth and expecting a jolt the Lieutenant tried one of the tubes only to be pleasantly surprised, she had chosen correctly.

Kaileen putted the cat she was cuddling back on the ground.

"OK. I am going to figure out a way out of here. Everything is going to be ok."

She wanted to reassure the kitty. She closed her eyes and took a big breath. She looked down at the kitty. Now she had someone else to save besides her self she couldn't let the little thing be scared.

The first thing that came to her mind was to call for help. But as she went to her pockets she rembered that she didn't have her phone with her. She must have forgot it at home.

Ok next step was to....

An music was playing an see if sounding music. Kai didn't know what to do. She looked to see what other people were doing.

Super Sailor Crocus - 58/60 HP

Crocus had hoped that Leto might know someone here. Like her, he had seen a few familiar faces in the crowd before the blind light and teleporting. "It seems so, I saw Acubens outside, but she's not in here." He wasn't sure if he had seen anyone else. It was hard to miss Acubens head of curls, admittedly the monument held his attention outside, so he didn't look around as much as he should have.

Seeing Leto fail to send out and message with her compact, he pulled out his phone. He tried to send a message to Nischal, but it didn't go anywhere either. "Phones not going anywhere either..." He glanced around the room again, this time noticing how people were giving them a lot of space. Not like he blamed them, if there was someone else as powerful as Leto, but playing for the other team, he'd avoid them as well. They might end up having to all work together at some point though, and that could cause some problems.

Just then the room began to shake and change around them. A door appeared, but as a negaverse officer demonstrated it couldn't be opened. Music filled the room and eventually everyone started to catch on that they would need to replicate the song if they wanted to move on.

That shock didn't seem pleasant and there wasn't exactly an easy way to tell which of the tubes made what sound. Normally he considered himself quite musically inclined, but weird alien music? Not really his cup of tea. But they wouldn't get anywhere if they didn't all pitch in.Gingerly he reached out to test on of the tubes, hoping it would b the net note for the melody. He guessed wrong and as he assumed before, the result shock was very unpleasant.

"What kind of kerfuffle is this..." Whenever he became irritated, annoyed, or stressed, the Canadian in him really started to come out.

Sailor Tsih - 50/50 HP

They weren't trapped in the first room for too long before things started to shift and change. In a very an alarming way at that. Tsih had yet to experience just how crazy this seemingly other worldly adventures could be. So far her hunting ground had stayed solidly within DC's barriers. Still, she tried her best to keep up with the group and was quick to pick up on what this stupid monument was trying to get them to do. A game of simons says with music? That couldn't be too hard.

As much as she didn't want to work with many of the individuals here, for better or worse they were all in this together. That didn't stop the little smirk on her face as she watched some of the other get little shocks. She could enjoy that, right?

She took some time to analyze the tone and watched as people experimented with the different tubes. Eventually she decided one one to press and was satisfied when the tones went off and she didn't receive any sort of punishment.

That wasn't so bad, she'd manage to survive this one way or another. Maybe even brag to Hyperborea and Cassiopeia in the end for doing a not-so-bad job of things.

40HP - Hadaya be rollin' like the fat cat he is.

Though thankful for the attention from the kind stranger (Kaileen), Hadaya's ears perked up a bit as everyone began to move around and the room opened up to reveal the next strange portion of this adventure he had not technically wanted to embark on. He was here, and he had to do his best.

At least, that was what he tried to tell himself. His little legs were shaking and he could barely get them to listen to him enough to lift his belly off the floor. He decided to just scoot instead of walk, kicking his feet behind him and wiggling his way like a fat snake or maybe a seal. His ears were flat on his head, and if he had a tail it would have been drooping down and dragging on the floor much like his stomach.

Picking up speed, her worked his stumpy legs into a crouching shuffle, scooting faster across the room and, one ear perked up and listening to the music, ran face first into one of the crystals on the side of the room.

It made a noise that was not wholly unpleasant or even discordant, and he felt like it must have meant something. Looking up, craning his neck back, he looked around to see what the crystal looked like, and then to see what the others in the room were doing.

Maybe he could try another tube. Except without direct contact with his face this time.

48hp

Kaileen decided to see what other people would do she noticed they were going to some tubes and touching them. They seemed to be playing the same music as the one that was playing. She saw the cute kitty going and touching one of.

"Be careful"

Her first attempt or touch didn't go so well. She went to try it again. That sounded a little better. She turned toward the cat.

"I think I got it. Would you like some help?

Hadaya rolls again! +2 from help, so no damage!

Hadaya looked up at the very friendly person who he decided was now his best friend. He wiggled his butt, the closest he could get to thoughtfully wagging his tail, and smiled at her brightly.

"Yes please! I can only touch the bottom of these things. Maybe if I can touch the top it would make a nicer sound?"

He sat back on his back feet, looking up at her and wiggling his little paws for a moment, to get his balance, before stretching up toward her. He wanted her to pick him up, as was customary when someone saw a cute kitty, but also because it would help him test his theory about sound. He had no reason to think being higher up would sound better, of course, as touching the tube from the bottom seemed to work well enough already.

More than likely, this was just an excuse for him to be held. It was nice for the brief moment from before, but it would be much better now.

"Thank you for all your help so far! I would be a lot more scared than I am right now if I were all alone."

Since they were all powered, he did not have to worry about hiding his identity as a guardian cat. It was nice to actually talk to someone, instead of having to meow at them until they indicated they knew what he was. Even then, Camelot often told him he was too friendly for his own good. But how could that be a thing?

There was no such thing as being too friendly. Everyone deserved a friend, and he was pretty sure he always deserved pets and cuddles. Everyone won.

Princess Leto: HP 80

Dropping down into her Eternal form made things so much more convenient for Leto- it was easy to blend into the crowd, and to take her opponents by surprise. But here and now, where she was forced to lay it all out on the table for everyone to see, it made her vulnerable and that was not something Leto was comfortable with.

She was painfully aware of the distance that most other people kept from her - order and chaos alike - when the room began to shake. Her automatic instinct was to grab for Crocus, fingers digging into the gauzy fabric of his overlay. It was only when it stopped and the wall began to climb before their eyes that she took a moment to glance down at her hand and pull away, not even realizing that she had been grabbing onto him the entire time. For his safety or her own reassurance? Who knows.

When Crocus approached the tubes, Leto was about to tell him not to ******** touch anything when he received a shock. She closed her eyes for a moment to really focus on the strange music they were hearing before she finally moved to join him at the tubes. Reaching out and touching the tubes, she managed to follow along with the music surprisingly well.

Maybe it was all that Rockband she played before she joined the war, she mused as she tapped a crystalline tube. "Be careful, I don't wanna have to haul you through this entire thing," she said with a grin in Crocus' direction.

"Just... Try and feel the music or some s**t."

Lieutenant Strengite - 48HP

Even though her previous selection hadn't turned out to be wrong that didn't mean she wasn't going to put the same consideration into her next one. Strengite was still smarting some from the first try at this stupid game of 'Simon'. Honestly if this trap wanted them to play games they could have done a lot worse than a musical matching game. Red Rover, Tag, even Old Maid would have sucked but there was only one game that Strengite could think of that would have been the worst 'death match' game ever... Mindsweeper. God, could you imagine? The pale haired officer hated that game, mostly because she sucked at it. Working on reviews of places and events wasn't always mentally stimulating, especially when it had been a serious drag, so she would occasionally play the random game of Minesweeper only to inevitably fail. Unless she cheated and changed the settings that is. So this game of 'Simon' really could have been worse.

Mentally sighing at her own tangent Strengite focused on the task at hand, finding her next correct crystalline tube... boy was that a mouth full. As she strolled up and down the walls again she absently wondered how the rest of the people who had showed up were doing. It hadn't escaped her notice that their small group of 'players' was only a fraction of the magical fighters who had been in the park earlier. She even thought she had seen her General in that mix somewhere, but she might have been wrong.

Fairly sure of her choice this time Strengite only hesitated for a moment before reaching out to touch yet another tube, pleased to find that once again she had chosen correctly.

You managed to finish the strange task foisted upon you and, despite some of you being crispier than you might like. Upon completion of your task to something’s satisfaction, the door leading into the next room starts to rise. Before you stands a huge, incredibly wide staircase. It seemed to ascend for as far as they eye can see. Made of beige stone and criss-crossed with the same pulsing black circuit pattern you’re already accustomed to, it seems your first objective in this new area… is to climb. (You didn’t skip leg day, did you?)

Upon reaching the top, another large black door awaits you, rising as the first of your group nears it. You find yourself in another large, rectangular room, much like the first. Here, however, that mechanical humming sound seems much louder than you remember.

Once all of your group is in the room, the door SLAMS closed behind you, and a loud, monotonous voice booms through the room.

[[ANALYZING…]]

As soon as you set foot into this room, a blindingly bright light from the ceiling flashes once. When your vision clears, spots are filling it and your eyes ache. Suddenly, the room itself starts splitting apart, rotating and shifting. The door on the other side seems reachable, but sections of the floor, walls and ceiling are moving up and down, side-to-side and every which way like Tetris on steroids. The lights are dimming the longer you stay in this room.

[THE SECOND TASK]

You are to reach the other side of the room as quickly as possible!

Lieutenants Fettelite and Strengite, Sailor Phaethon and DMS Super Crocus have been affected by the light! Eternal Sailor Metis is naturally immune, but her blindness seems strange now...

[The Rules]

Roll one (1) d10 for each post and follow these prompts:

  • Roll 1-3: You’re losing your footing more frequently than you’d like, slamming into a Tetris piece from Hell itself. Take 3 damage
  • Roll 4-7: Jumping to the nearest flat ground, you slip and twist your ankle. Take 1 damage.
  • Roll 8-10: Parkour might be a hobby you should consider taking up?

[Special Rules for Metis and those affected by the light!]

Roll one (1) d10 for each post and follow these prompts:
  • Roll 1-3: Your vision is swimming with those silly dots, and you didn’t see that piece of the floor coming. Take 3 damage.
  • Roll 4-7: Somewhere, when you squint in the darkness, lies a glowing pattern on the floor. You blink and it’s gone…?
  • Roll 8-10: That light did something to your eyes, and if you concentrate, you can see a glowing path to safety. Choose one other person not affected by the light and they add +3 to their roll! If this puts them out of a damage bracket, they take no damage!
  • You can roll every half hour!

[Your goal is to reach a total of 100 for the group to escape into the next room.]

[The next step of the climb will begin in roughly 48 hours!]

HP: 40

Hadaya watched the room as it shifted and changed in front of him, blinking.

Parkour challenges were NO fun. Yes, he was a cat, and technically he was supposed to be graceful, quick, and able to leap over pretty impressive distances but... he was woefully lacking in the typical skills a cat was blessed with. He was uncoordinated, cowardly, overweight, and proud owner of very stumpy legs that could barely handle walking too much.

Let alone jumping on a moving block of terror.

Taking a breath, though, Hadaya wiggled his butt and crouched down. He stared at the blocks for a very long time, trying to discern a pattern in their movements but completely unable to focus on one without getting a headache. Trying to watch them all and how they intersected was out of the question.

He was just going to have to take a leap of faith.

With a mighty yell of determination, which came out as a horrified mew, the tubby cat pushed off of his back feet and threw himself at the closest moving block with his eyes tightly shut. His paws hit something and he clung to it, scrambling up from the edge and finding himself perched on one of the strange stones instead of falling, getting smacked out of the air, or somehow ending up crushed as he had expected.

He'd done it!

Incredibly proud, he puffed up his chest and looked around to see if anyone had noticed his accomplishment. But he was already far behind most of the other jumpers, and he was only on the first step. It did not deflate his happiness at all, however, and he looked to the next jump with renewed determination. If he could do ONE without dying, maybe he could do another one!

Phaethon HP: 50/50
Group Total: 16/100

-------------------

He had no idea why he was at the monument, but he was at the monument. He supposed he could keep wondering about it, but it wouldn't do him any good. It hadn't so far, anyway. His best bet was to probably just... focus on trying to figure out what in blazes was happening and get through it. Phaethon puffed air out between pursed lips as his fingers went tap tap tap tap tap tap tap against his legs.

Well... alright, where was he going to begin...

Well, following everyone else into the room was probably a good start, or at least as good a start as any.

Phaethon was not prepared for the blinding light that soon followed, and reflexively throwing up his arm to shield his eyes didn't do a damn bit of good. Opening his eyes to see, well... nothing did not improve his mood or his confidence.

Now the order of business was to try not to panic about being blind. He could probably fix that, right? He rubbed at his eyes, then more vigorously.

Nothing.

Dammit.

Okay, so that wasn't happening. But, then again, as he could feel the room shifting around him, he thought he could see the faint outline of a path long the floor in front of him. Arms out awkwardly for balance, as he was loathe to move until his eyes fully recovered, Phaethon took a deep breath and tried to see if anyone around him needed any help. He didn't know anyone there, and he assumed that they also did not recollect why, exactly, they were here. If someone did need help, admittedly, he wasn't really sure what he'd even be able to do, but... he could probably at least try something. Pat them on the shoulder? There there?

"H-hey," he fumbled out with his left arm, trying to tap someone near him on the shoulder to get their attention. "Hey, I see a path. Follow me?"

Moving from one room into another one, with another puzzle, was a bit aggravating but Denebola managed to remain composed even as she took a look around her. Lips pursed together and she thought she saw a flash of a familiar fuku but didn't want to be deterred from her task.

Copying the melody, once she'd figured out the notes of the tubes had been easy enough...but this? This didn't seem as simple if only because it relied on physical prowess instead of mental.

She was capable, of course, seven plus years as a senshi taught her enough but she would have preferred something else.

And yet, she tried to climb.

The wedges of her shoes didn't help her much as she struggled to make her away across. She didn't plan things well and took a hard piece against her side and it knocked her to the ground.

Great.

Captain Marcasite
HP: 60/60
Group Total: 27

The shifting tiles and pieces that moved like a glitching program made the captain wrinkle her nose. For a moment she considered attempting to teleport but after that failed to be successful last time she had tried, she didn't bother.

Instead, she thought to put to use all of the mma training she did regularly with Porsha and all of the courses she'd been taking with the help of Renegade Media. She wasn't the most skilled in any sort of parkour but her general training combined with her capability to read people and situations were definitely going to help her in the long run of this.

This meant that her dodging skills were on point for her first attempt at getting past some of steroid tetris.
