When Corvus finally joined him on the roof he caught her arm carefully to steady her. "Sorry about that, forgot about the effect those claws have." He'd mostly wiped that from his memory of the incident with the General but seeing Corvus attacked, seeing her favoring her arms, brought the memory back. He hadn't ever figured out what it was but the effect had at least worn off eventually.

"That Captain is stronger than I would have thought." If those two were formidable by themselves they were in some serious trouble if anyone else showed up. And knowing the Negaverse ...

there were bound to be others they could call.

---------------------------------------------------

With the Senshi momentarily out of their range he walked over to where Tourmaline was, watching the Mauvian go flying. The cat had been a good distraction but the feline wouldn't be a match for either of them.

Or the Pet.

"Kitten, I suggest we let the others come play. The Senshi are going to call for their own back up while they're up there." Aue had told them the senshi were able to contact each other as well and he had no bout that Firelfy and his friend had others they could reach out to.

Arachne's Venom!

Quote:
Attack #1 - Arachne's Venom!
[Arachne cups his hands over each other and a ball of violent green energy starts to grow between his palms. Once enough energy is collected the orb is throw at an enemy. Once struck the enemy takes the effect of the harsh acid burning into their skin and clothing ((Note: The balls can only get about the size of a baseball. They work on the same basis of an Orb of Acid spell in dnd and strikes that connect burn so long as the acid is still on skin or clothing. The acid can burn through clothing/fabrics and cause 1st degree burns if it contacts skin.))]
  • Duration: Instantaneous, the orbs must be thrown within one post or Arachne risks burning himself.
  • Avoidable: Yes. Arachne must throw the balls himself so they're only as good as his aim.
  • Downside: If Arachne can't throw the ball within a post of it's creation the acid orb will begin to burn his own hands

The sound of a new voice was drowned out by the screech of the Pet, Uvarovite's head snapping around as he heard his youma. A streak of garish green liquid was making it's way down the side of the Pet's head and the youma was left rubbing at the area trying to make the pain go away. "How'd you like that ugly?"

Arachne grinned as the youma, now angry, focused it's attention on him. He could feel Arsinoe and Corvus somewhere near by but didn't really have time to worry about where they were. If something had happened he could at least get the youma and the officers attention away from them until Thisbe arrived.

"Make a note of it next time, maybe? The numbness is finally gone, but the sting." It was enough to be distracting, just shy of maddening. It made sense how the General managed to excel at hand to hand with a weapon like that, enhanced as hers was.

"I can feel Arachne, which means that Sumi will be returning. If he and Eta can get off an attack at the youma..." The rest of them would have to distract the Negaverse officers, and if they were able to work as a team they might just be able to do it. Fortunately, she and Arsinoe were used to working together, as were she and Arachne. Between the three of them...

-----

"Calvary's arrived, <********>!" Thisbe arrived on scene not far behind Arachne, pausing long enough to stoop down and scoop up Eta. With the injury she'd taken earlier that evening she didn't want to tango with either of the officers or their youma directly, but she could do her best to keep the Mauvian's safe and if any of the Nega-scum came too close, well...

Veil of Woe had never lead her wrong before.

"Are you alright, Eta? Sumi's bringing up the rear with a new senshi-- gotta keep her safe, along with the others, until we can explain all of this s**t to her, alright?"

-----

Eta shook her head, trying to clear some of the fog from between her ears. The tumble following the toss hadn't exactly been pleasant for the Mauvian who was used to landing on all fours. That Thisbe was the one now holding her was somewhat of a relief. That she was already running her mouth.... Well, some things could be worked on later.

"Corvus and Arsinoe fled to the rooftop to regroup. The General seems to distract easily and talk a lot. The Captain appears to be controlling that youma." Rather than focus on what the Senshi of Woe was saying she took the time to quickly brief her, filling her in on as much information as she could.

-----

"Roaches. They're just like roaches." Her nose wrinkled as she drew out her communication device, sending out a call to their own cavalry. If the senshi wanted a fight, she would bring one to them.

"Aue, Cursa, Lalande, Mab. Your presence is requested. Mab, darling, please make sure that Nitratine and Cornetite are with you this time. Uvarovite will be very displeased if he has to send Kaz to fetch them." Memo sent to the first wave, Tourmaline banished her communication device. Their crew could easily take the senshi on sight.... And if they called for even more backup themselves, well, she knew just who else to call.

"Wasn't exactly at the front of my mind at the time given everything else that went on. We can make a note in her file though." At least they could warn other Officers, if anyone ever actually looked at the information in their database. "Is it wearing off? Doesn't look like she cut you too deep."

He heard more than felt Arachne's arrival, glad that their friend was there to deal with the youma. He didn't always trust Arachne in a fight with officers but the other Eternal had built his reputation on dusting youma. He would at least be able to deal with the monster while the rest of them took care of the General and her companion.

"Is there anyone else we can call? Erato is too new. I'm not bringing him into something this bad yet but ..."

--------------------------------------------------

Arachne managed to dodge the snapping teeth of the youma, barely keeping out of it's jaws as he tried to get it angry enough that it wouldn't return it's attention anywhere else. The problem was that the thing was fast and it was good.

He wasn't used to youma that actually reacted to what he was doing and started to anticipate his actions.

This thing wasn't like the other youma he'd dusted.

--------------------------------------------------

Tarvos was following the kitten, mostly paying attention to putting one foot in front of the other until she saw the group of people and the monster. She recognized it as one of the strange creatures you saw online and it was chasing after someone with a coat.

Sumi had been explaining things on the way, at least as best as the kitten could under the circumstances, and she didn't understand but she knew Abby was here somewhere and in trouble.

--------------------------------------------------

Sumi was tucked into Tarvos arms but hopped out once they were close enough to the others. "Eta!" He saw Thisbe, leading Tarvos to her sister, and the other Mau in her arms.

He hoped that Eta hadn't been hurt. "Where's Arsinoe, Corvus?" He could feel them so they were still alive but he didn't like that he couldn't see the other two.

--------------------------------------------------

While Tourmaline called their lieutenants and her senshi he turned to look after his youma. It had gotten distracted and that just wouldn't do when he knew there were two more of the senshi pests lurking somewhere on top of the building. One of them with rather long range magic.

"Pet!" He bellowed, the Youma snapping to attention at the sound of it's masters voice. "Find me the pests and being them down to me." The youma hissed at Arachne, not liking that it was being taken from it's prey but listened to the command. Pulling itself away it clawed it's way up the building, snarling as it's head came over the wall and it could see the two senshi who'd been hiding from it's Master.

--------------------------------------------------

The sound of wings and a sleek shadow circled over the others for a moment before Kaz dropped to the ground between Uvarovite and Tourmaline. The bird cocked his head, surveying the field before walking over to the Captain.

"Others coming ... " Kaz was happy to nuzzle his head to Uvarovite's outstretched fingers. He wasn't sure why he had been called, not when Tourmaline was with Uvarovite, but he had not wanted to miss a summons from the Captain. Not when he might be able to be useful.

Sailor Corvus had awakened in Destiny City on January thirty-first in the year two thousand and ten. Eight years she had been a senshi, intermittently patrolling the streets and parks of Destiny City, until she'd found her own and fallen into a routine. Beneath her proverbial belt she had eight years worth of encounters, forming connections where she could, solidifying friendships in some places and likely burning bridges in others.

Was there anyone else that she could call?

Certainly. There would always be people that she could call, just as there would always be calls that she would answer herself.

"It isn't like you to shield someone, Arsinoe. You've been spending too much time with me-- it's making you soft." Corvus spoke to her cousin with a fondness, her tone lightly teasing despite the seriousness of the situation at hand. She could hear the voices below and although she couldn't make out much of what they were saying, she assumed they didn't have much time before someone, or something was after them again.

Corvus drew her phone from her bodice, unlocking the device to call up her emergency contact list. Knight Celsus of Chronos and Sailor Aegir were at the top of her list and she sent a message quickly to each.

[Message to Celsus:] Large Nega group w/youma. Plz hurry. Bring Mag Mell.

[Message to Aegir:] Large Nega group w/youma. Need assistance!

She would start there and if those three were not enough she would continue to call more, reaching out even to those she had become estranged from if it meant protecting her home-- protecting her family.

Corvus just barely managed to get the messages out by the time the snake-like youma peered over the edge of the rooftop. The Senshi of Vengenace scrambled back as she tucked her phone away, reaching out to snag Arsinoe by the wrist to draw the other senshi away from the monster's jaws. "We can't let that thing get us-- we should rejoin the others."

Sailor Thisbe

"I don't know how much use I'm going to be going against any of the hard hitters. I took a blow from a youma earlier while out with Arachne." Thisbe very pointedly avoided making eye contact with the young woman who'd delivered Sumi to their corner of the 'battlefield'. Knowing that she knew her but being unable to recognize her was infuriating. Knowing that this new senshi was her sister and had been dragged out on her first rodeo without any warning was just... It wasn't right. They should have had more time.

Eta - Mauvian

"I am fine, Thisbe-- Sailor Corvus and Sailor Arsinoe are as well, Sumi. For the moment, at least." She was very curious about this new senshi-- freshly awakened and already being thrown into the fray. As Thisbe said, it was their job to protect her. Perhaps one of the monsters that the pink and black General was calling out to would be just as new too. Practice made perfect, after all.

"They're on the roof. Up where that... Stars and stones, where that thing is crawling after them. They might be able to handle it on their own if we can keep the two-- three down here on the ground occupied."

He had not hesitated.

Corvus had sent him a message. Corvus was in danger, and this was all that Celsus had needed to hear. He had not needed to know what sort of danger, he had not needed to know whether or not she actually needed him, he had not needed to know how long it might take to defeat whatever or whoever she was up against. Corvus was in danger, and she had called for him, and so he had come.

He arrived in a jangling of coins, his long cape fluttering around his ankles as Celsus skidded to a breathless stop, chest heaving for breath. Mag Mell was somewhere around him; he'd dragged the other knight along, feeling the desperation pulse somewhere in the vicinity of his throat, anxiety and nerves and a heady thrum of adrenaline making some of the shapeless fear ebb.

"Corvus? Corvus!"

Reports were a necessary, if annoying, part of Aue's life. He made certain to submit his to three separate generals, two because they would actually appreciate them, and one because it was a requirement of station though the corrupt was fairly certain they went 'dusty' and unread in his inbox.

In the middle of his work, Tourmaline's voice cut across the silence clearly, calling for not only him, but the trio of senshi he'd been training for her. Saving his progress, Aue rose to his feet and set about rounding up his errant trainees. Along the way he picked up one noisy b*****d he didn't really want to pick up - Tiberius.

----

Shea wasn't even powered up when the call came through, he was quite busily styling a new wig, but he felt the pull and went running outside so he could take care of things. After getting the General's message? He called Hals and Court so they could get going while the getting was good - the fact that Tourma had specifically called him out, called them out wasn't great. That sour b*****d isn't going to be happy with us, ugh.

Powered up and ready to go, he put a call in to the lemon b*****d - not the General. She was obviously busy, having 'requested' them and then given coordinates. "Sir, Sailor Mab reporting. Will arrive at target location in approximately ten minutes with Officers Nitratine and Cornetite as requested."

Aue was a strict piece of work, really. Good to look at, but a right rotten b*****d. Mab wished his personality was as pretty as his body. "Alright darlings, if we don't want to be eaten, let's go!" Nitratine, Cornetite, and Mab would all roll up to the ******** of a free-for-all together, the leggy corrupt standing with his hands on his hips to survey the chaos.

"Party has arr-IIIIIIIII-ved, so. How about you little bitches all just give up now, okay? Thanks!"

----

"This...is an unholy c**k-up of epic proportions, Sourpatch." Tiberius chuckled and slammed his big fuzzy head against the super of lemon's angular cheek in amusement. "Look at this - oh hey! It's my kids!" Tourmaline really knew how to pick 'em, honestly - the smell of youma, chaos, and white moon was heavy in the air, even from where Aue was perched to take in what was going on.

"You go have fun, I'm gonna stay here a minute...." Tiberius allowed himself to be removed from the senshi's broad shoulders, tail flicking back and forth as though he'd spotted a bird through a screen. "Try not to get killed, your Masters might not like that."

Aue rolled his eyes and muttered something rude in Finnish; a Knight (Celsus) came rushing onto the scene, crying out the name of one of the white moon combatants like a lovelorn fool. There was a tone in his voice - so often the Order fools had it - that said he was particularly attached to this Corvus. Add to that the lack of military training in his bearing and there was a chance that the Corrupt would be able to take down the Knight, despite the differences in their rank.

He had Mab, Lalande, and Cursa to worry about, but he also had a duty to Tourmaline. He also knew Celsus. Had been to his Wonder. Aue dropped down before the Knight, getting bodily in the way. "Going somewhere, Celsus Knight?"

Sailor Arsinoe - Corvus / ********..." Arsinoe's legs barely got out of the way before the youma's jaws snapped closed on the space they'd been taking up. The thing moved fast for it's bulk and he wasn't even sure they'd make it down to the others before the monster was on top of them again.

They had to try though.

"I hope they get here fast, that side of the building should be clear to make it out front without getting trapped." Unless one of the officers had moved they would at least be able to make it back into the open even if they couldn't make it far. Arachne was there as well so that was another distraction.

-------------------------------------

Sailor Tarvos - Thisbe / Eta / Sumi

She came to a stop behind Sumi as the kitten paused in front of another girl and what appeared to be another talking cat. "Okay this is a bit ridiculous. Have I fallen into a hole into some comic book universe? Also why am I in a dress?"

Her questions were mostly directed at Sumi but if anyone could answer her that would have been wonderful. She hoped to good they weren't expecting her to fight in a skirt. Not unless someone wanted a good view of her backside.

-------------------------------------

Sumi - Thisbe / Eta

"I promise I'll explain when there aren't youma and officers around. I mean it." HE tilted his head up to look at Tarvos hoping she would just understand and trust him. "Our friends need help and you can help them."

He wasn't quite sure how much help but Abby had said her sister was into physical exercise, kick boxing or something, so she could at least hold her own against others if the officers called for back up.

Lt. Nitratine - Mab / Cornetite

Courtland had not been pleased when Shea had called letting him know that Tourmaline was requesting their presence. He knew better than to ignore the summons but it was incredibly tempting to do. He technically followed Uvarovites orders anyway.

But if Tourmaline wanted all of them then it probably involved Uvarovite anyway.

He'd put down his camera, at least glad he'd finished the video he was working on, and headed out so he could power up and find this meeting place. With Mab and Cornetite they headed to the location Tourmaline had pin-pointed.

"This had better be worth it"

-------------------------------------

Lalande - Cursa

Othello had been at the studio when the call came though, helping his friend with a routine she was working on. He'd been sitting off to the side by their bags while she ran though things when his communicator went off and Tourmaline's voice echoed around the room. "oops ... that's up to high."

Pulling himself up he waved at her in the mirror, waiting until she stopped. "Duty calls. Come on we've got to get out of here first."

They couldn't just power up inside the studio and they were a bit away from the location Tourmaline had pinpointed.

Lieutenant Cornetite

Cornetite was irritated and short of patience-- not uncommon for the muscular, blue-haired Lieutenant. He fully knew and recognized that it was his duty to respond when summoned, but if General Tourmaline had gotten herself into an unpleasant situation it was likely her own fault for not getting out of it. Idiot.

It wasn't even that he minded the idea of fighting, when it all boiled down. It was more that he and Nitratine were expected to go toe to toe with magical brats while only wielding glowing poi and an apple. Sure, they'd gone a couple of rounds getting used to hand to hand. They had magically enhanced speed and strength, but useless toys were still utterly useless when it came to skirmishes. You don't bring a rubber duck out to fight a mage who knows magic missal.

Out of the trio, Mab seemed to be the most excited about all of this. He would be, of course. <******** mage.

"For ******** sake. Who do we even start to bully first, Nit? Sailor Adams over there with the cobwebs? Or the two arguing with the puff ball? There's also standing here and looking unimpressed until we're ordered about...."

-----

Sailor Cursa

This was what they had been training for and she shouldn't be so anxious or amped, but she was. There were so many things that could go wrong in a situation like this and while she said that she was all for it...

No backing down.

Vi stashed her things away in her locker before meeting Otto outside the studio. Without seeming too suspicious they found a secluded space in a side alleyway to power up. Fortunately, the abandoned warehouses and empty lots, soon to be posh new apartments, weren't too far from the studio. Hopefully they'd arrive in time to be useful.

-----

General Tourmaline

She would leave drawing the two Eternal Senshi down from the roof to Uvarovite for the time being. Pet was large enough that with both of the senshi on the defensive she had no doubt he would succeed in doing so. The raven-black senshi's attack had been mostly useless anyways, so she would concern herself with the open space and those joining the field before them.

One by one those she'd called to their aide were arriving-- Aue first, naturally, with his ability to teleport. The others soon, if they knew what was good for them. Certainly, she could summon them to her, but that was energy she could not currently afford to expend. There was always a chance that she was underestimating the female senshi; a chance that she was underestimating the Order auras slowly closing in as well.

While Uvarovite and Pet dealt with the primary threat, Tourmaline closed in on the second. A senshi had arrived before the two young women who now stood off to the side, debating whether or not they would join in. He'd attacked Pet and she couldn't very well let that happen again. "Kaz, with me, please. Let's squish ourselves a spider."

Mag Mell

The Cosmos Knight was not the easiest to get in touch with when it came to mystical, magical communication devices. He'd yet to find the right schematic for upgrading his ring, so it was either plan to be out at a certain time and place or hope that someone else was able to get in touch with him. Celsus, Knight of Chronos, was that person.

His feet couldn't carry him fast enough to the location the other knight had been given. He could only think of one reason for Corvus to have insisted that Celsus ferry the message on to him as well: Arsinoe.

Since his side-swap, Mag Mell had not been in any large encounters. He was certain, with his years of service to the Negaverse, that he'd taken part in some of the battles of old that Corvus had told tales of, but this.... His patrols had been routine, most of them brief interactions and idle chatter. With the exception of his fight with Arachne (both the fight actually with the Senshi of Spiders, and the one fought by the other man's side) he hadn't gotten into any altercations.

"First time for everything," he muttered beneath his breath as he drew a card from his belt, focusing on channeling some of his magic into the vessel. He counted to ten slowly, letting a warm, bright glow envelop the card before casting it away from him, aiming for the area around the feet of the black and yellow senshi heading for Celsus.

Supernova! Mag Mell focuses on channeling his magic through his weapon [either one card held out in front of him, or a card that has been thrown/stuck to an inanimate object]. The card shines with a bright, white light that intensifies the longer Mag Mell holds his focus. If channeled in short bursts a flickering light effect can be used as a diversionary tactic.
At Knight stage immediately following the charge of light (anywhere from 10 seconds up to the full 50) a small burst of energy expels from the card. The amount of magic focused determines the strength of the burst (anything from a small shove at 10 seconds to a knockback at 50 seconds).

Sailor Corvus

"Celsus is here." She felt another strong Order aura below as well-- Mag Mell, she was certain. That evened up the playing field a bit more, despite the prickles of Chaos she could feel creeping closer. If they could get the youma's attention back towards Arachne then he and Arsinoe would be able to take down the beast while she and the others focused on the General and the Captain. She...

She didn't have time to think about it, reacting on instinct in response to Arsinoe's words. Corvus made a break for the side of the building, the old fire escape worn to the point where it was hardly safe to scale. The next roof was too far for a leap, which left only down.

Over the ledge the Senshi of Vengeance went, touching the fire only briefly before bounding to the ground just in time to see a bright flash of light. The sudden brightness dazed her, leaving her grateful that she hadn't been closer. So much magic hovering in the air, all of it subject to becoming friendly fire if they weren't careful.

Sailor Thisbe

"Gets worse when you hit your next level-- you get a fancier dress, complete with layers." Sumi was right, though. There wasn't time to have this conversation, as much as she wished their was. "We've got a handful of doofuses at 2 o'clock. Blue looks like a brawler, but the other two..." Thisbe thumbed her nose before taking a moment to peel off her gloves, throwing them to the ground.

"Just don't let their hands anywhere near your chest, alright? Pretty sure they've just got toys for weapons, so all you've got to worry about is how hard they hit."

Eta

"Stars and stones." Two youma, one General, one Captain, two Lieutenants and she could feel the auras of more Corrupt Senshi than she could see with her eyes. Eta's heart ached at the thought of the senshi that had been lost and while she would have liked nothing more than to try and spend time convincing them that they weren't alone anymore and had no reason to cling to the darkness, now was not the time.

The silver tabby leapt down from Thisbe's arms, shaking herself off and preparing to stand her ground. "If you two have the Lieutenants, Sumi and I should be able to handle the senshi."

Lalande - Cursa

Once they were powered up and he had twisted his hair in to some semblance of order he grinned Cursa. "Duty calls ..." There was no telling what they would be in for, Tourmaline hadn't specified, but he knew Cursa was keen to prove herself useful. He'd already done quite a bit, proven by Tourmaline taking his word for Cursa, so he wasn't worried about himself. he was more worried about his friend and if she was really ready for whatever might be in front of them.

There was no telling what was waiting at their General's location.

With their extra speed and stamina it didn't take long to make it to the spot and he was surprised to see the gathering that had amassed.

-----------------------------

Kaz - Tourmaline / Arachne

Kaz didn't entirely like the idea of leaving Uvarovite alone but he did have Pet with him and the Captain didn't seem like he was any distress. At least none at the moment and there were other threats that needed to be dealt with.

He also knew better than to ignore Tourmaline's orders where Uvarovite might hear. He was supposed to listen to the General as well even if her orders weren't always what he wanted.

This time though ....

There was a senshi and perhaps she would allow him to deal with the pest. Uvarovite allowed him to do such things and ... well he could always just do what he wanted. Uvarovite would be pleased if he killed the senshi. Shaking himself out he followed after Tourmaline in the direction of the web covered senshi.

-----------------------------

Arachne - Tourmaline / Kaz

Arachne wasn't pleased when the giant youma went after Corvus and Arsinoe but he couldn't exactly jump up onto the roof after it. Not when Thisbe and ... someone new appeared. If he left them alone and something happened he was sure to get an earful from Corvus later about it. Besides, someone needed to stay on the ground and keep the officers rounded up and distracted.

He just wasn't expecting the distraction to come directly for him.

The pink-clad General and one of the Youma were headed in his direction so he ignored his desire to chase after the snake-youma instead. "Want to play birdy?"

Arsinoe - Corvus / Uvarovite / Pet

He was glad Corvus had managed to get a call of to Celsus in the short span of time they'd had before the youma had come after them. Having the Knight there put their chances much higher and he knew at least with Celsus there someone else would be keeping an eye out for Corvus.

He still didn't trust her not to do something reckless.

As she disappeared over the roof he followed, smiling softly at the flash of light he saw go off over the edge of the building. Mag Mel. Celsus must have called him as well.

Arsinoe didn't have much time to think about that as the youma chasing them screamed moments before it followed them over the edge, claws raking down the side of the building and sending chunks of brickwork down around him and Corvus.

"RUN!" There wasn't enough room in the alley way to actually fight the monster if it caught up to them.

-----------------------------

Uvarovite - Arsinoe / Corvus

The Captain laughed as his Pet chased after the two scurrying Senshi. It was good to see them trying to get away and see how little a chance they had of actually doing so. Once his Pet decided it wanted something it was relentless and for the moment the two senshi were too distracted trying to keep their distance to actually do anything about it.

Tourmaline had warned him about their Firefly but from what he remembered the senshi needed use of the lantern against his hip. So long as he didn't have time to get to it he wasn't a true danger.

Celsus

Around him, chaos reigned - both figuratively and literally.

He felt the surge of power signatures around them, felt the catastrophic collision of Negaverse and Order auras colliding with one another; it was like fingernails on a chalkboard, or a spitting explosion of fireworks cracking above ones head and deafening everything around you. His heart felt like it was outside of his chest.

Corvus was near; he could sense her signature, could feel her presence even if he could only catch glimpses of her through the surge of bodies around them. Mag Mell was a given, considering that Celsus had brought him - and Celsus could see snatches of a dark head that indicated Arsinoe, a flip of auburn red hair that was vaguely familiar but not quite someone that Celsus could put a name to.

His mind was too full of the danger. Of getting them all out of here safely.

Someone came stepping into view of him, long dark hair in a cascading wave of curls down his back. Celsus sucked in a sharp breath, pulse jumping; he knew that face. Or perhaps he had thought he knew him. Or maybe he had once known him; the memories felt a little muddled.

"Don't do this," Celsus said, voice level, but he threw an arm out - not in the Corrupt's direction, but in Corvus's. There was a small sweep of golden white light, and then wings erupted from Celsus's shoulder, a ghostly, bright creature slithering down his arms and bursting from the tips of his fingers as the owl came into life. It soared directly over to Corvus with a low screeching sound, flapping its wide wings up in an arc above her torso and face.

Mag Mell's magic bloomed in front of him, between himself and Aue. Celsus took a hasty step back, throwing up an instinctive arm to cover his eyes, his other hand reaching for the cattailed whip and pulling it into existence against his palm, fingers curling around the handle.

"Get out of here," he warned Aue. "Don't make us do this."

Northern Hawk Owl Summons: The owl flaps its wings and creates a temporary barrier of sorts between a person and their attacker (essentially they absorb the damage instead of the person its protecting). This can only be done once during a fight, and if the damage is too extreme, the summons will not be able to protect them.
