"Not exactly, but it doesn't really matter now does it? What matters is getting you help right now, Dovian." He told him, watching as the door opened up revealing a Oban woman with severe features and simple dress. He gave her a glance then said, "Mera, I require your powers." He motioned with his head toward Dovian's wound. The woman gave them both a once over before nodding, turning around on her heel and headed inside, motioning for them to follow, "Set him in the usual spot, Bushi. I will deal with his wound and then we will talk payment." Bushi followed along after the woman, talking as he did so, "She is unaware and it's best that it remains that way. I have two very different lives that exist side by side, one fueling the other. It would only stress her out knowing such things." He said before he moved to set his son down on a simple cot. Other then that the room was fairly simple and mostly empty, as though it was just a temporary set up. It was dark for the most part as well though as Mera approached several candles flared to life around them. "Again, it's a bit complicated. We will talk about it once Mera has taken care of your wound." He said, turning as he heard Mera chuckling, "What?" "Come now, we know Hestian hasn't stolen any thing himself in years." She said, dragging a chair over so that she could sit down, "Alright kid, let's see that wound of yours." She looked it over then said, "Nothing to worry about, it's just a simple wound." Reaching up she took a string of beads from around her neck and set to work casting a healing spell upon the boy.

Dovian glared at his dad as he was set down. "Different lives... do you have another lady too?" For now he was expressing his pain and anger in a way to jab at his dad. He winced and shifted on the cot moving his hand away from the wound when the woman said she would look at it. As a spell was being cast Dovian looked up at Bushi. "What did the guy mean when he said I was his?" It would be a good time to figure out just how much trouble he gotten himself into. Did it mean he owed the man a favor? He could just pay him right? Wouldn't that make him go away?

"Of course not, before your mother I didn't even consider the idea of having a family." He said, watching as Mera went about her work, focusing on the magic and the way that it started to slowly knit the wound back together starting with the deepest part of the wound and slowly moving toward the surface. It was a morbid show to watch so he turned his attention to his son's face instead, lifting a hand to rest it gently on the boy's head, patting him lightly. "You don't have to worry about it. I will see to it that he is ousted from the group no matter what means I have to use. I have a few favors I can call in and I will see to it that he's dealt with." He told him, then sighed, "You really should have just told me if you needed something, Dovian. I would have gotten it for you, there is no need for you to steal and get yourself in over your head in a world you don't understand." He'd done all he could to keep them away from such things and yet here Dovian was getting into trouble.

When his wound started to be stitched together it was uncomfortable and the expression on his face showed it. Not that he was in any more pain than he already was but it felt weird. Dovian reached up and swatted at his dad's hand as it was on his head. "But you kept secrets from her." He grumbled. "Secrets that that guy might tell her." Then his eyes went to the woman healing him. "Or she might tell her." Dovian moved just a little. ".... Wait... does Shura know!?" If his twin knew and she didn't tell him he'd be mad at her. "It wasn't something I needed. I just wanted it so I could use it." And he'd heard the talk about how to spend money wisely more than once so he didn't want to ask his dad to get it for him. "I'm trying to make a pair of gloves that can be used against those bug things." For that he needed the best materials.

"I have kept secrets from many people in my life, yes." He said, withdrawing his hand as Dovian swatted at it, not wanting him to stress himself over something so simple as a pat on the head. At the mention of Gorvis telling Phaedra he nodded, "There is a risk that he'll do that, he doesn't know what he's started. I think he thought by getting at you and your mother that he would get an advantage or that it would cause me to back down." It had done the opposite, rousing the more dangerous side of the normally amiable bear. Giving a shake of his head he said, "Mera has no reason to spill secrets. If she were to do that she would lose precious business. Isn't that right, Mera?" The woman gave a nod, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you and all of that." She said, not really sounding as though she was as committed to the conversation as she was her healing work. Something that caused him to shake his head before his attention went back to his son once more, "As for your sister she doesn't know either." Why would he tell Shura and not Dovian? Though what if that stray of hers did let something slip? He should probably speak with Tristitia about that. "I don't care if it was 'need' or 'want', Dovian. What matters is that you took something when you know full well that you could have asked me for it. I might have had on hand what you needed and it would have been a lot less complicated." As she spoke of what he wanted to do he said, "You shouldn't worry about the Dretch. From what I gather some of the army is signing up to deal with them. I doubt they will ask any citizens to join in that aren't ready for such a fight. Do you really think Shura needs to go to war against such a force?"

Dovian didn't really care so much that he dad had secrets. It was more that he was worried that his mom would find out. What would she do? Would he be hurt or angry? "What if mom leaves you?" This time his anger seemed to be gone; replaced with worry. He looked at the healer as she spoke but didn't say anything. Instead he looked down at his wound to see how it was going, giving a disgusted look at being able to see inside his skin. He was still morbidly distracted when he responded about his sister. "Does she need to? No. Will she want to? Probably." Hence why he wanted to make sure she had the best to take with her. There was no way he was going to let his twin go into a serious fight without some serious equipment. And he'd be going with her if she went to make sure any armor or weapons she had got repaired.

"The same said reason why I've never told her what I am." He said, having always thought about the risk that he ran. That he might lose Phaedra to what he was and what he did for a living. He would rather she always think that he was just an average merchant. That had been the plan but if Gorvis was really wanting to test him... well, he would just have to face the risk. He thought about it for a moment before he said, "I suppose that I will have to see to it that she is distracted from such a venture." He would just have to tell her that Dovian needed to be looked after and that might just do it. She had always been over protective of him, always getting into fights over him, and therefore he might be the best distraction for her. He'd rather his daughter didn't think about going near something like the Dretch. He didn't know a lot about them but he did know that she wasn't ready for such a thing. "How's he doing?" Bushi asked, looking to Mera. The woman didn't look up from her work as she worked on dealing with the last few layers of flesh and said, "Nearly done. He's going to be exhausted since healing is draining, he will also risk having a scar, but he's going to live." Once she was done she put her string of beads back around her neck like a fancy necklace and said, "Now, you rest and while the two of us talk about payment."

Didn't his mother tell him and his sister when they were younger that it was best to tell the truth so that she didn't find out they lied later? It was one main reason why Dovian was a horrible liar. So with that in mind he simply turned his head to look at his father with an expression that said he wanted to throw something at the man. Still he shook his head and seemed to lean it back so he could look up at the ceiling. "I'm telling Shura." It wasn't a threat it was a fact. Mostly because he didn't want his twin mad at him for not telling her. Or the likely punch in the arm he'd get if he kept something this big from her. When the healer told him to rest while the two spoke about payment he snorted. Dovian really just wanted to get as far away from the woman, the dark hole they were in, and anything to do with his father's shady life as possible. "I need to go find mom and make sure she's okay." Dovian was still worried that something might happen to her since he failed to see his little mother being a fighter.

Bushi sighed, "Dovian..." He trailed off, sighed again, then turned back to Mera. After a bit of hushed talk he took a back of coin from his pocket, counted out what he owed her, and handed it over along with a tip. The tip was to cover her 'not being home' in case Gorvis showed up here to have his eye taken care of. He was already plotting against the man, wanting to see him fall, and he meant to have his eye be the first payment that he took from him. "You need to get some rest, Dovian. I will see about finding your mother and dealing with the associate if he's still around. I think you should stay here, recover, and return to my stand to wait for me to return with your mother once you're up for it."

There was a huff from him as he rolled to his good side. "Rather be grounded than have Shu mad at me for not telling her." He grumbled. He told his twin everything anyways. It was just how it was. Didn't matter that she was a girl. Dovian and Shura had always been that close. At least, for him he was that close to his sister. There were things that Shura didn't tell him but that was because he just didn't need to or want to know. Girly things mostly. Dovian missed the exchange of payment since he was otherwise occupied with trying to stay awake. That woman hadn't been kidding when she said healing was exhausting. Not that he understood that, she was the one who had used the magic not him. Still, when he heard his dad he half rolled back over to look at him. "You're gonna leave me here...?" Oh if mom ever found out his dad was so dead. "Better hope nothing happened to mom." What if Bushi had to bring Phae here to be healed? Oh boy that would be interesting.

"Yes, I am going to leave you here. Mera is a healer, one that I trust, and I'm sure that you will be fine so long as you rest. If you wish I can send Shura to pick you up? In fact I might do that. I'd rather you didn't walk back to the stand on your own lest you end up getting into more trouble." He said, stepping closer to him, reaching out to sooth back a bit of his hair. He'd rather he didn't get into more trouble or run into Gorvis again. If anything he'd rather start moving various pieces against Gorvis before the man had a chance to go near Dovian again. "Would you rather I carry you in such a state back to your mother? I'd rather she didn't start a war upon seeing you." He'd rather Dovian rested up here before he sent Shura to fetch him to bring him back to the stand. From there he'd bring his family back to Awat where they could be safe until he dealt with this incident and the one that decided he wanted to butt heads with him.

His dad could trust the woman all he wanted, Dovian still wasn't so sure. So when Bushi mentioned having his sister come get him he nodded. He meant to say "fine" but a yawn came instead. Then after a moment he looked at his dad with a serious expression. "I think I've seen that guy before today. I think he goes to eat where mom works." He meant the accomplice but as he lay there and thought about it he seemed to look dazed. "Gorvis too." Though not as often as the other one. Dovian was sure of it. "You think they been hanging around Shura too?" What if they were getting his twin into trouble? It wouldn't be hard to convince her to fight someone. Dovian groaned and moved to sit up fully. "Okay enough rest. Gotta find mom and Shu."

"Good to know." He said, mind still whirling in a thoughtful manner as he headed for the door. He paused there at the mention of them 'hanging around Shura' and he said, "It's hard to say, though I suppose there is only one way to find out." Would they bother his daughter? Dovian he could see, the boy was more gentle and was working in a field that didn't involve much in the way of fighting. Phaedra at least appeared to be doing the same, but Shura was never shy about her more fighter's spirit. Would they poke at her or would they pass her by to deal with those they thought were 'easy' prey? "Rest, I will see you shortly." He said before leaving, missing when Dovian decided that he was going to get up and find his mother and sister on his own. Instead he went to seek out Shura first, giving her his instructions, before he then headed for where Phaedra should be this time of day. Time to deal with the first one it would seem.
