Red_Death_Stalking But now Uta has fop hair gonk The Rogued girl So RDS, if you like masked men and capes, what do you think of Dr. Doom in the Fantastic 4 movie? I actually never saw that movie becuase it looked stupid sweatdrop although I have read the background story for Dr. Doom, some crazy genius science guy with an expirement that went "all wrong" and so he control/create amazing technology/robots (and apparently control thunder?) I don't know, the premise just seemed over used and I hate his costume sweatdrop although I do feel sorry for him becuase he was trying to rival Mr. Fantastic (whom I also hate becuase he's a goody two-shoes) xp
But might I mention that I'm also a fan of Zorro? *twitches and falls over* I cannot think of Zorro without thinking about Antonio Banderas and I cannot think about Antonio without thinking of him singing "All I Ask of You" and "The Phantom of the Opera" with Sarah. crying ....

Dr. Doom adapted to a leather cape/cloak and most of the time I was rooting for Dr. Doom to pop up or finally win sweatdrop Red_Death_Stalking But might I mention that I'm also a fan of Zorro? OMG! Zorro! Love him as well! I agree with Baka that when Zorro comes out I think of Antonio Banderas, but instead of him singing AIAoY with Sarah Brightman, I think Puss in Boots from Shrek 2 xp

Antonio as Puss is awesome. Antonio as Erik.. well.. would worked in Spain. sweatdrop Don't get me wrong, he's got a good voice and all, but I can tell you know he would NOT be cast as Erik if he ever wanted to go on Broadway.
He'd be..
... MADAME GIRY! :O

I like Moulin Rouge, but just for the music.
Hell, that's usually the only reason I like musicals (barring PotP, of course).

BakaTulip All the Antonio and Sarah singing stuff is on YouTube and he is a good singer... but it's WEIRD... Saw 1/4 of it then stopped because I felt scared. All that time I was like "is that really Antonio?" Well he does have a good voice (as proven in Evita) but he''s no Raoul or Erik, it's just wrong

Alexis Of Shadow I like Moulin Rouge, but just for the music. Hell, that's usually the only reason I like musicals (barring PotP, of course). I tend to like musicals if the music is good... I daresay that's the only reason I go to PotO on Broadway and plan on going again. Moulin Rouge's music scared me though, it's waaaay to ADD and I love it. Especially The Pitch.

That's exactly why I liked the music in Moulin Rouge. It's kind of different from other musicals, and I liked how they made it so.
Usually I'm not so into musicals though. In fact, unlike a lot of people who like PotO, I know absolutely nothing about music. I cannot tell a B from a C, could not read the notes to save my life, make horrible noises when I try to play (I don't have the patience to learn either) and I don't even own a ginormous music collection. In short, I listen to some of it, pay no attention to most of it.
What do I like then, you might ask?
Fantasy. I love anything fantasy even if it's kinda dumb. And horror. Same applies for horror, though when done well, I am extremely impressed and inspired. Same goes for old, non-Disney animated films, though I like some old Disney stuff just fine. Just not all of it.
Maaaybe I'm not your typical Phantom phan, but ehh. Hell, I never associate guys in masks and capes with Erik like the rest of you, but I'm still a phan.
Gotta count for something!

Took band for 5 years, so I can read music. Playing it? Well... let's not go there. My dearest darlingest [/Wicked referance] saxophone is still recovering. XD
And hey, don't stereotype, Alexis! *bop* Kidding. But really, I never think:
Guy + Mask + Cape = OMFGERIK
it would hafta be:
Ugly guy+ Mask to hide deformity + Cape that goes SWOOSH lyke woa = OMFGERIK
And I'm totally with the Fantasy scene. The art styles shown in those kinda things and designs for clothes/jewelry/what have you for them just make me drool.
Then again I drool in my sleep. Maybe that's a sign.

I'm With Uta: Lots of characters wear Capes and masks and don't make me think of Erik.... and of all things the Witch from Into The Woods reminds me of Erik o_O;;;;
And Moulin Rouge=Heart. I love the insanity. I cried at the end though

@Alexis: Meh, I know nothing about music either but I know I hold a higher appreciation for it than most. I have little pet peeve when people play music just for background noise and they're not actually listening to it. Like when people walk down our school's hallways and blast music in their headphones, it's just for noise becuase apparantly they don't like silence, and others who always have their headphones around their neck, playing music, and talking to people; It's just like, if you're not really listening to it don't play it, it's an abuse of it's beauty. Like if you used Mona Lisa for toilet paper...Even in art class I get super annoyed when people just interupt me when I'm painting and listening to music (becuase it's my sphere...why would they interupt my sphere...I...I don't understand gonk ) *cough* anyways ninja
Utakan Shutup! gonk I like my fop hair! I needed a change, damnit. >< And pick on me again and I won't love you anymore, RDS! eek *runs into her basement and makes a sweater out of tears* Uta won't love me anymore?? crying

Utakan Shutup! gonk I like my fop hair! I needed a change, damnit. >< And pick on me again and I won't love you anymore, RDS! We love you just the way you are, Utakan! (I'm not sucking up, I swear!) I personally like Moulin Rouge because of the songs that the people chose. Who else could have thought to put a Queen song into a musical. Some consider that unwholesome (not me, of course.) And Corpse Bride I can also see becasue it's about a man who, over the course of the movie, grows to love the Corpse Bride voluntarily. Parallel to Christine and Erik? I think so!

Suck up all you like. I need an ego. blaugh
I never saw Moulin Rouge, so I don't have an opinion on it. Now as for Corpse Bride, I guess it kinda is a near parallel to PotO. Only Victor doesn't really end up loving Emily. It's more pity and respect. He loves Victoria, but when he hears that she was off and married to Lord whats-his-butt (Barcus? O_o) he gives up on ever having who he really wants and instead seeks to make Emily happy instead by giving her the groom denied her at death.
