Cloud turned away from the doorway and faced Kora.
"You wont be punished for using your gift" Cloud popped her hands back into her pockets "The whole point of being here is to be more comfortable with who you are. The only rule that exists is no fighting in the halls"
Cloud shifted her wing a bit and gave Kora a more reassuring smile.
"Teachers just want you in class" she said
"Skipping" the teacher startled cloud "Gets you extra homework and a chore to do"
Cloud had jumped a bit and stepped back when the teacher spoke. "So please do come in" the teacher teased Kora
She turned her attention to Cloud who was attempting to make an escape.
"and you" she said taking hold of Clouds shoulder "Have not been seen for a while"
Her voice was stern and maternal. Clouds shoulders dropped. She did like this teacher so she didn't want to give her any lip. A hand was pressed to her forehead where she could easily feel the warmth.
"You still aren't feeling well?" she asked "and you are barefoot !"
"I'll be fine" Cloud muttered "I was just going for breakfast when I found these two."
She moved her head away stubbornly and then made her escape. The teacher watched her go with her hands on her hips. The rest of the students finally started acting normal again.
Cloud entered the cafeteria that was closest to the garden. There were some older students hanging around. They probably had classes later in the day. She didn't bother saying hello and started to dish up a meal.

Trent and Jade sat in the cafeteria, having just finished their breakfast. Trent was laughing at the table next to Jade, who had her usual irritated look on her face. They were conversing about their classes when Cloud entered the cafeteria. Silence fell over the room in an instant. Trent looked over at Jade, who's eyes were locked on Cloud as she made her way through the cafeteria.
"I don't get it. Why does everyone go quiet when she's around? I've never see her do anything bad." Trent asked curiously.
"No clue." Jade replied simply. She was just as curious but played it off like she didn't care. Jade often did this. She may actually be curious about something, or intrigued by someone, but played it off like it didn't faze her.
Trent got up suddenly, starting towards Cloud. “I’m gonna see what all the fuss is about. She can’t be that bad of a person.” Jade sat and watched. She was used to Trent’s bluntness and curiosity getting the best of him. She used to try and stop him but learned that it was better to sit and watch. She did so, looking on with her usual scowl on her face. Everyone in the cafeteria started to notice as Trent walked towards her. “Hello. My name is Trent. What’s yours?” He asked, a friendly smile appearing across his face. He extended his hand out as a greeting unsure of what to expect.

Kora was a bit more relieved but still hesitant. Luckily there was a chair behind Echo. As she claimed her seat she listened to the teacher getting on Cloud's case for not taking care of herself while sick - which made Kora wonder if that's why her wing was resting over her shoulder.
The teacher came back into the room and started introducing herself then asked the students to introduce themselves and what they know of their abilities starting at the front of the class. Kora was interested in what Echo had to say, that shy thing hadn't said a peep since they met.
Kora's curiosity about Echo got the best of her. She'd zoned out the students talking about their abilities while staring at the back of Echo's head.
Like the spark of a match she was face to face with Echo but Kora knew instantly she wasn't in her body - seeing as how Echo didn't seem shocked and looked through her.
"Looks like we have an astral projector." The teacher's voice boomed as she walked down the isle. Kora watched the teacher's hand gently touch her body's shoulder; she flinched, subconsciously expecting punishment, but with another spark she was back in her body. "I guess it's time to introduce yourself."
Kora's face flushed, this must be how Echo felt earlier in the garden with all eyes on her. "I'm Kora." She paused. "What's astral projector?"
"Astral projection is being able to send your mind and or soul out of your physical body." The teacher explained. "Take notes people, knowledge is power." Students started taking notes on this new (to some of them) ability. "It's similar to lucid dreaming but different. Astral projection is while your awake or conscious. Lucid dreaming is being in control of your dreams. Some people who master both can astral project while sleeping or even lucid dream in another's dream." Everyone ooed and awed. "If anyone wasn't taking notes on anyone else's abilities," teacher paused to look at Kora with a smirk, "the TA has been keeping records and can give out copies at the end of class. We get not everyone has complete control yet." Kora tried to smile back.
"Moving on, what's your name and abilities?" The teacher stepped forward and gently touched Echo's shoulder.

Cloud eyed Trent up and down for a moment wondering if he was joking. She did not take his hand either. Today was turning into a very odd day. She'd had visitors in the garden and now someone was talking to her openly. "Cloud" she answered roughly Her temperature was starting to rise again. Her face began to look more pale as her cheeks turned rosey. She sighed. "Sorry" she straightened up a bit "where are my manners. Hello Trent" She was still being awkward and shifted uncomfortably. Even after five years of trying out this normal life thing she still felt like she did not belong. "Good bye" she said and then took her food and quickly left.

Alba ran as fast as she could, she was going to be late. Today was the day she would finally go to a real school, one where she didn't have to hide, where people like her could learn to use their powers. Alba was so excited for this new adventure, her biggest one in her short 15 years of life. Alba looked like your normal teenager, with her shoulder length black hair and grey eyes. She was tall for her age and had lean muscles. But what people couldn't see was her cat ears and tail. She learned how to hide them very efficiently by wearing long dresses and skirts to hide her tail and either her hair or hats to hide her ears. Today she had a long black floral dress on with a cute black beanie to match.
Her dress was flapping behind her as she ran, thinking back to why she was late. Her foster mom has raised her and taught her for as long as she could remember, so when she brought up the academy and what it was Alba's mom didn't want to let her go. This was four months ago and after long talks and reassurance her mom finally agreed to let her go. Still this morning her mom brought up her worries again. Alba did her best to ease her which took a while. It was after she told her mom she was going to be late that her mom let her go it a kiss on the head. Luckily for her she didn't live to far away.
Finally making it to the academy she stopped to look at her map. Locating her home room she took off again. ‘Why did it have to be such a large campus’ she thought to herself. After running for a bit she finally made it to the right class and really late. Opening the door with hesitancy she peeked in. Finding the teacher talking she tried to sneak in but she had no luck. Right as she walked through everyone looked at her. Putting on her confident face she stood up straight and introduced herself. “Hi!, I'm Alba, sorry I'm late.”

Kora watched another late student try sneaking into the room but wasn't missed by the teacher. Kora was a bit relieved for Echo's sake that the teacher's attention had shifted to the new student. An empty desk sat next to Kora as the teacher gestured Alba take a seat.
"Hi Alba." The teacher smiled "I'm Miss Scarlet." She introduced herself. "We've just started introductions and if you need notes on anything we've gone over as far as other's abilities and what they mean or do, my TA, Tom, can give you a copy." She gestured at an older student in the corner. "What are your abilities?"
(ooc - Miss Scarlet and Tom are up for grabs character, Kora is my only main character in this RPG - using names might be easier than "teacher" and "TA")

Echo's face was completely red as she looked up at Miss Scarlet. She didn't know how to express that she couldn't talk. She felt like getting up and running out of the room. Her anxiety was getting the best of her. She looked back down at her desk when suddenly someone ran into the room. She introduced herself as Alba and took a seat behind her. It was at this moment when she realized that Kora was behind her as well.
Echo released a sigh of relief as the attention seemed to have been taken off of her, at least for now. She pulled out a piece of paper and scribbled on it, placing it on the desk for the teacher to see in case she looked over at Echo again. All it said was Echo, mute.
Trent stood there for a moment as Cloud walked off with her food. He was able to muster out a "Bye," but after she had already walked off with her food. He shrugged and went back, taking his seat next to Jade again.
"Weird" He muttered, staring down at the table. His expression looked like he did something to upset her, his face scrunched up in confusion.
"Maybe she's just anti-social. Not everyone likes people. Don't worry about it." Jade said bluntly. She always got straight to the point. She reached in her backpack and took out a sucker, unwrapping it and sticking it in her mouth. Her eyes changed from a hazel green to a deep blue.
"Blue Raspberry?" Trent asked, noticing the color change. Jade replied with a simple nod. Suckers were her addiction and, for whatever reason, caused her eyes to change to the color of whatever flavor she was eating. She looked back at Trent.
"You have that look on your face. You're going to try again, aren't you?" Jade asked, her speech a little muffled by the sucker.
"Yeah. Something about her. I'll try and talk to her again if I can find her. Doesn't seem right that people treat her like this." He replied. He looked around as everyone around was acting normal again. Jade shrugged as she stood up, grabbing her belongings. "Class starting soon, we should go." She said as she walked off towards the exit, Trent following behind.

Alba started walking to her seat as miss Scarlett was talking. Thinking it would be good to have notes she said “ That would be great Miss Scarlett, thank you.” Taking a seat she looked around her as she replied to the teachers question. “I can manipulate my hair to grow, shrink or change colors.. I've been working on using it to lift objects up but I can only lift light objects. On a lesser scale I can also make my nails grow, usually into claws.” Finishing her explanation she looked around at the other students, noticing a girl in front of her who looked shy, with her red face and another girl who sat directly beside her who had beautiful hair. Noticing people with pens and paper, Alba pulled hers out of her bag.
“That could be very useful if trained more. Thank you for sharing. Try not to be late again please.” Miss Scarlett said. “ Who’s next?”

Just as Trent took a step out the cafeteria he saw a student go flying backwards down the hall. He slid in the floor and slammed into the wall. He gripped his chest and coughed hard slumping forward.
Standing in the middle of the hall was Cloud. Everyone was quickly trying to scurry out of the way of the fight. Her wing was outstretched behind her and her hair was waving around in a wind that she was creating. The scariest thing was her eyes. They were so cold, almost inhuman. Her face was twisted up in anger, her chin raised and staring down the hall at her victim.
At her feet was her tray of breakfast spilled everywhere and down her clothes.
A young man with a red arm band came out of the crowd hiding in a doorway. he knelt down to check on the slumped figure. His patient was in no danger of dying so he turned his attention to Cloud. " alright cloud tone it down" he spoke with calm authority "you've broken some of his ribs" He checked his patients chest with his hands. You could see his breath as he spoke.
Cloud looked around for a second and then relaxed.. The wind dissipated quickly and the temperature in the hall returned to normal. her wing relaxed against her back. her eyes stayed cold as she kicked the discarded tray out of frustration. she made a cursing sound and walked away.

Trent looked on with a shocked look strewn across his face. He looked up at Cloud, how she stood there, her eyes piercing through everyone with malice. It was a frightening sight. That could have been me ran through his mind. He looked back down at the student on the floor, clutching his chest. The man with the arm band helped the student up, another nearby student joining to carry him off to the infirmary. Trent turned his attention back to Cloud, who was walking off. His stare was only broken by Jade's voice.
"I think she just showed you why people stay away from her. Still want to get to know her?" She asked bluntly. Her expression hadn't changed from the cafeteria, keeping her usual unfazed look as she watched Cloud leave.
"Not sure. I like to keep my ribs intact." Trent replied, starting to walk off. He was still a little in shock, but in the back of his mind, his curiosity was growing. Jade walked with him to their class. Her face didn't show it, but deep down, she felt they would eventually cross paths again. And it most likely wouldn't be on friendly terms.

After the last of the students introduce themselves Miss Scarlett went to her desk and took out a stack of papers from her drawer. “Since it's the first day of school we’re going to start easy. I’ll have Tom hand out these packets, in them you’ll find a list of books to use on your first assignment.” Miss Scarlett said while handing the papers to Tom. “ This will be an easy assignment, I want you to do a research paper on your powers. Really look into different books and resources to find what you can do. This assignment will be due next Friday. Use the rest of this class time to figure out how and what you'll be using. You may talk amongst yourselves quietly if you want. Any students needing the notes or wants them now is a good time to pick them up.” Finishing her speech the teacher went to sit down at her desk.
Alba was really excited, she didn't get in trouble for being late and this first assignment seemed like it was going to be fun. Looking at the list she received she scanned the books and marked ones that seemed like they would help. A promising one was called 'manipulations’. Finding the books she would need on the list Alba turned in her seat to the student sitting next to her, “Hello!” Alba exclaimed, “I'm Alba, how are you enjoying your first day here? I was really excited when my mom finally let me come here. What are your powers?” Alba fired of in an excited tone, leaving no room for anyone else to say anything. Taking a deep breath she waited for a reply.

Cloud went into the garden still fuming. She clutched her injured hand and stared at the blood. Her fever made her dizzy so she practically fell to the ground as she went to sit beneath her favorite giant tree. She tilted her head back and stared up at its wonderfully green leaves. Cloud started to drift off into a peaceful sleep.
She only woke when someone nudged her shoulder. It was the med student from earlier. He took her injured hand into his and started cleaning it and then bandaging it. "Didn't think I saw it did you" he commented "I brought breakfast too since that a*****e dumped the food"
Cloud just stared at him with a blank expression.
"You aren't feeling well and he busted your hand" he complained

Kora kept one eye on Echo who still hadn't spoken a word as she listened to Alba personally introduce herself. She was a lot of energy, by the time she finished Kora was just staring with an open mouth grin and raised eye brow.
Kora chuckled. "I'm Kora." She paused for effect. "It's better than the last place, so far..." She peeked up toward Miss Scarlett curiously then back to Alba with a smirk. "I can control my dreams and I can make my mind or soul or what ever 'leave my body' while I'm awake. Some times it happens on accident." She looked at the couple books she picked out. "What's your power?" She asked, looking at Alba's books.

Echo sat for a few minutes, looking around the class and thinking about how she could possibly fit in. She could hear Alba introducing herself to Kora. She didn’t really have anyone to talk to, so she started to gather her belongings. She looked at the paper she had written on and crumpled it up, shoving it into a side pocket of her bag. Echo stood up and walked over to Tom to receive her assignment. Miss Scarlet called for her attention.
“I don’t think we finished your introduction, miss…?”
Echo’s face immediately turned red again. She took the crumpled paper out of her bag and tried to smooth it out, handing it to the teacher.
“I see. Aren’t you a unique one?” She gave a gentle smile, handing back the paper to Echo. “Communication may be difficult between you and the other students. Please, don’t hesitate to let me know if I can help. I look forward to your assignment.”
Echo relaxed a bit, knowing that the teacher understood her. It was also a relief that she didn’t try to make Echo talk. She nodded towards Miss Scarlet and Tom and took her assignment papers. The rest of the class seemed to be discussing their powers among themselves. Echo looked at the teachers and pointed to the door, an expression of Can I leave? written on her face. Miss Scarlet nodded, allowing her to leave for the day.
Echo looked at her schedule. It looked like the first day was just the homeroom introduction. The rest of the afternoon was free. Echo thought of heading back to her dorm, but curiosity got the best of her. She headed back to the garden where she met Cloud. When she arrived, Cloud was talking to a man with a ribbon around his arm.
