October gave a hum of thought.
"Room with a view," he said musingly. "You like the ocean, too, I'm sure it smells like the sea. Think it'll be a good place to be happy?"

It was such a strange questuon that it took him off guard. Would it be a good place to make him happy? It reminded him of the talks sitting on the beach next to Dawson asking him ehat he could do to start feeling hapoy again. The house had just been a toss up. A relocation of self to work on and focus his mind elsewhere and hopefully feel accomplished.
"I'm hoping. Thay was the plan." He whispered. "Houses are just houses until you feel something for it. Good things."

The feeling of loneliness persisted, not just from Melvin, but from himself. October closed his eyes briefly, grateful that his face wasn’t visible, chin still propped atop Melvin’s head.
“That’s good,” he said quietly. “Happiness is important. And necessary. You can’t move forward if you don’t have at least some want to be happy even if it takes a while to get there.”

Melvin nodded under October's chin.
After a few moments, he said, "If....the house doesn't make you happy anymore. I won't hold it against you if you wanna move out. I just always thought you were kind and not so judgemental. You were always nice to me and supportive. Not someone who'd take advantage of me or my job a long time after. I also thought it would be nice to let you get out of the small rooms. It's kinda selfish but ..I thought it was a good idea then sitting alone in the house with empty space."

He moved one of his hands, idly tweaking a lock of Melvin's hair.
"I don't like judging, it takes too much effort," said October, which was perfectly true. "And, well...it'd be nice to have a roommate. We could watch movies. Or eat together. I like eating with other people, it makes it better somehow."

"Same. I always liked it. Quiet is good in small dosages but...I can't live like that. I like sitting with someone to eat or just....checking up on things. If you don't mind me poking my head in once in a while to chat." Or a lot. Not enough to invade his space but enough to want to talk.
He hugged October a little bit more in thanks and anticipation for a roommate.
