Kuromori made very valid points. Leon hadn’t noticed all of the similarities between them until his friend pointed them out. Yes, he’d known that their names were oddly similar, almost identical, but that was obvious. But for them both to me melanistic feline shifters, who’s trades dealt with crafting garments – hers obviously more popular and versatile than his armor – it showed just how similar and well matched they were.

Smiling wide, he felt like a young man with his first crush. Leonora filled him with such excitement and optimism. For once, he was thinking about starting his own family, his own Pride. While his father and other Pride members had shunned and beaten him, his mother had loved him truly and deeply. She’d shown him how deep relationships could be, how powerful love could be. Leon knew deep down that Leonora would be the perfect mother, the perfect mate. He knew it was foolish to get his hopes up too high, but he’d already lost his heart to her, whether she wanted him or not.

Slapping Kuro’s shoulder in a friendly manner, he grinned. “Thanks for your encouragement and support, Kuro. I know you’ll like her very much. She’s a wonderful woman. One of a kind.” He was sure all males felt the same way about their prospective mates, but he knew his claim was true. What were the odds of a melanistic lion and a melanistic leopard finding one another? Near impossible. And yet fate had brought them together.

“Sadly, I don’t have any firm plans to see her again. We had dinner the other night though…She ended up falling asleep after the meal. Apparently she’d had a very long day. I placed her in my bed and guarded her for the night.” He had to wonder if Kuro would think something happened after that – which it didn’t. “Since then we’ve visited each other’s shops, but we both have business to attend to, and we’ve both been busy with commissions.” He said with a small sigh and a frown. He knew Leonora didn’t mind him stopping by for impromptu visits, but he didn’t want to bother her while she was working.

“In any case, I’ll see her soon. Now, how are you my friend? Any news?” He knew Kuro wasn’t the most social of creatures, but to hear that he’d found himself at the tavern, that was news in and of itself. “Tell me, who did you go to the tavern with? A lovely lady? A male perhaps?” Leon wasn’t one to judge and he didn’t know Kuro’s sexual preferences, so for all he knew he did have a date.

The two could and would spend hours talking about their social lives, business and various events that would be happening in the city with the coming days, weeks and months. Perfectly content to spend the afternoon chatting with his best friend, Leon didn’t notice the passage of hours.

♛With a slap on the shoulder, Kuromori smiled kindly beneath his mouth piece, possible to be noticed through the expression of his face's exposed part. A calm and understanding nod was all the crocodilian could offer his friend at the statements he made about Kuro's support, how he himself would like her and how wonderful and unique she was. The fishmonger, of course, could not deny those things given that those words came from Leon, a man who, despite having his heart in the clouds and mind wondering at the moment, was trustworthy to deal with most of the matters that required a particularly mature mind, and everyone knew that relationships or even the idea of having one is something that needs deep thinking and careful consideration.

In any case, Kuro continued to listen to his feline partner as the same revealed no real plans for them to see each other were made, along with a whole lot more info as to how their encounter went down and ended at his home, with her on his bed. Of course, the thought that something dirty had taken place did pass through the tall male's mind, but the key word was 'guarded', which meant Leon was truly more focused on keeping her safe than satisfying the most personal desires of the flesh and heart. An action most noble, that could be expected from Kuro's close friends, as his own demeanor was noble and one thing attracted the other naturally. "Surely. We must understand the importance of business in our lives, giving that we are owners of our income and live for that, but I'm glad to see that such things didn't stop you two from connecting. Of course, dealing with armor and clothing offers less free time than the fish industry I run here" ,he chukled lightly, looking a bit down to the table before returning his gaze to Leon and continuing, "...But I can understand how busy it is", he commented over how they were dealing with work and their social, and was nice to see that Leon understood the situation well..

The subject now changed around to him as his long time friend questioned what he was doing at the tavern, and still, at the suggestions giving, the crocodilian could not help but laugh a good laugh, finding the situation of him going somewhere with a date or anything similar quite distant from his reality. "ohh...heavens, no" ,Kuro laughed again, "My stay at the tavern didn't involve things like that, and if they did, a lady would be my company" ,the fishmonger lifted one hand and pointed a finger a Leon, with an expression that was half serious, half joyful, " and a charming one, at that". Of course, due to his reclusive nature and preference for keeping the crocodilian traits the way they were because of nice comfort, besides the darkened physical adjectives, the clothing and the mouth piece that hides the leathery skin, its color, and the bone crushing mouth that most were even afraid of seeing, the opposite sex would usually never look at him that way. Even if they did, the result rarely came out of the negative, not that he knew if it ever was positive. Lowering his hand back down to the table and correcting his posture once more, Kuromori continued the explanation with a more serious but friendly tone, "The tavern owner came over to get a big order of fish and liquor, but since strength was lacking on his side, I carried the items through the snow there, and decided to stay to avoid the cold". His explanation was objective, but that was really just about what had happened, few things were left out, none that mattered. ♛

Leon smirked at Kuro’s words. He didn’t judge, even if Kuro had said he preferred the company of men, Leon wouldn’t have thought it vulgar. To each there own, love was love, in his opinion. But to know that Kuro preferred females made him smile. Perhaps Leonora knew a female or two that might be open to meeting and spending time with his friend. While Kuro didn’t mention it much, he suspected that his friend was lonely and desired some companionship, of an intimate variety and nature. Yes, they were best friends but there was only so much Leon could do for the guy in the way of companionship.

“Always lending a helpful hand. You’re a good man, Kuro.” He said with a nod of approval and a smile. People often judged Kuro from his looks, which wasn’t very fair to the shifter. He was a bit reserved and given the mouthpiece he wore, he had a slightly mysterious, albeit a menacing air. But in reality, Kuro was very friendly and thoughtful. He might be a bit shy, at least in Leon’s opinion, but who didn’t like to keep to themselves every now and again? No, Kuro was a very good man and any female would be lucky to have him, but it seemed that Kuro was more of a ‘let the females come to me’, kind of a male. Leon couldn’t recall his friend ever openly or willingly chatting up a female – at least outside of selling her something from his shop.

As the night went on, Kuro and Leon talked through the hours, chatting and laughing the time away. Before he knew it, Leon had to bid his friend good night – after purchasing his fish of course – and head home for the evening. He hoped that one day Kuro would find someone to love who would love him in return. Maybe, with Leonora’s help, they could find a happily ever after for Kuro as well..

♛ Kuromori was having yet another one of those slow days, where people did come in, but the movement was a whole lot less intense as the other days. Perhaps there was something today that was taking away the attention from the day to day things. He wasn't sure, but the fact things were slow was definite. The chill from the backrooms was always present, but during situations like these, the crocodilian could feel it make its way through his own spine, the thick clothing was useful and yet could not hold off the cold after being exposed to long to it with Kuromori actually paying mind to the chilling temperature. As most knew, the scaly man was not one of for the negative numbers lingering in the air, the Sun was his best friend, and to know that such an old friend was yet still missing from the town scene gave him such low expectations for each and every moment as hours passed.

Having knowledge that movement was slow, perhaps leaving for a bit would not be such a hassle through and through, Kuro was not that keen in leaving his business at any given time, but maybe this was a rare chance that exiting would not weigh on his mind. This, as said before, was rare, and therefore, was an opportunity that could not be left aside just like that. Promptly, the darkened figure rose from his seat at the counter, locked the door to the backroom as he usually did and made his way through the stairs, not before grabbing a small bottle of liquor and chugging it down, to warm him up as much as possible as he headed out through the breezy weather.

{Where:Fish Shop} {With: Kuro} {Wardrobe:Show some skin. It is still a bit cold. } {Song: Playlist } { Profile: XXX }

Harp had been in the forest foraging yesterday. She was looking for some herbs Kuro enjoyed to use in his cooking it seemed. She had them in a leather sack on her side. She was walking through the market as she looked around. She soon stumbled into a sign for the fish shop. She was excited as she was peeking in through the windows. She giggled as she spotted the hunk she enjoys being around.

Today her outfit was a bit different as she was wearing something that actually exposed some skin. She was given it by Leo. Harp didn't feel all too comfortable since a lot of her scales were on her mid-drift. She felt like she was being exposed to Kuro by Leo. She finally got the courage and walked in. Her hands were placed on her belly as she looked around. "Kuro? I came..." Her words were shaky as she paused. Why was she so nervous. Was it because she was dressed like this?

Why did she let the female cat shifter dress her? This was a huge mistake. Her pale skin exposed to the world. She didn't feel as confident as she did before. A lot more shy toward Kuro. She dug into her bag as she held out the herbs he liked. "I got these for you. No charge as I wanted to find them for you." She hid her warming cheeks behind the tall collar around her neck. She felt so embarrassed. Her boots alone were halfway up her thighs. She just couldn't figure any of this being a girl thing out.

♛ Once more sleeping with the fishes, the male shifter would rise from his bed and get himself all nice and ready for the day, not taking long to put on his usual thick coat to handle well the lower temperatures his fishes were kept on. For the day, he would spend a reasonable amount of time within the fish rooms to have them all set up, organized for quick handling and also cut some of them apart to re-stock the individual pieces some customers would ask for. Despite dealing only with the marine life, the work of a butcher would suit him well considering how much slices he would make and parts he would cut off. His nails were purposely sharp to aid in the cuts, sometimes a knife was not even necessary. No wonder some people feared him not as a whole, but for the singular deadly aspects of his physical form that he naturally presented to the world. The male was getting a lot of work done behind those closed cold doors, and as expected, soon came the need to take a rest. Not due to being actually tired, it was just a tad bit stressing to keep repeating activities for too long in that atmosphere, so a breather at the front counter would be nice.

With that, a few minutes would pass and there would the crocodilian be, sitting patiently with arms resting on the wooden surface while staring at a random spot ahead of him, completely lost on random thoughts and feeling the time breeze through his reality. This state of being would only be broken by the arrival of someone going through his front doors, with a familiar smell fresh enough for him to recognize as belonging to Harp, the curious female he had met days before and that had shown a singular interest on him. Upon her first words, Kuromori gave a simple and welcoming nod, "Welcome, friend, how are you?" ,and only after those words would he take notice of her clothing. Due to his almost neutral mindset, the fact she exposed more skin was not all that alarming to him. Shifters were usually more relaxed about their body than most beings, his case was different as he would not look weird or strange to the people around him, just straight up intimidating and terrifying. Along with his disdain towards the cold, that was another reason why he was so thick covered in clothing. That moment, he was taking note of her scales, noticing how there were much different colored from his own, presenting a warmer color in comparison to his near completely black scales. It was like light had just entered his shadowy domain.

Despite seeing her nervousness, the crocodilian would react to everything with a gentle and calm response, even at the moment he reached out to take hold of the herbs she had brought to him. It was an act of great kindness in his eyes, and that much could be seen by a light glow in his iris the more he gazed at the herbs. It was a mix of being happy for receiving such a generous gift and for knowing his meals would also taste much better again. "I appreciate this deeply, thank you for thinking of me so kindly" ,placing them down carefully on the counter, the herbs were secure there and the fishmonger would make sure to use some of them that very day. "Would you like a meal or perhaps a drink as well? I'm afraid fish, water and drinks are all that I can offer at this present time" ,he said sincerely, laughing lightly at the end of his explanation, aware that the only things in his market that possessed extensive variety were his fish and drinks, as the fishes went from small marine life to sheer giants of the water, and from ale to mead to beer to many other options he had managed to encounter and get a provider of, a gain from his travelling days.♛

She explained to him how she was since he had asked. Honestly, she had been tired lately but she needed to keep her shop running. She rarely took breaks. Even on days her shop was closed she was still busy with work. She never took time off to relax for herself. She had so many people relying on her so she needed to continue to keep them happy. Her bright yellow scales showed on her skin well. They really stood out.

She was soon offered a thank you and something to eat. Before she could reply her stomach had answered first. She blushed as she looked down. Honestly, she hasn't eaten a good meal in a while. Just snacking on things she didn't have to cook. A few grapes here and there. She looked at him as she smiled sweetly. "I would appreciate it. Thank you for your kindness Kuro." She stepped in a bit closer as she took a bit of an intuitive and kissed him on the cheek. She did like him a lot. She will wait for the day he is ready and notices someone likes him for him. She will wait till her last breath.

She tried pulling down her top some more as she waited for Kuro to show the way. She had never stopped here honestly. She normally had Leon pick up some fish for her as she would give him the currency for it. It was such a peaceful environment here at his little fish store.

♛Hearing her body respond before her actual mouth made the crocodilian chuckle lightly at the scene, finding it strangely comedic. In whatever case, it served as a reasonable answer to his invitation, that was only backed up further by her words, thanking him for the simple action. As some kind of reward, the female approached and gave him a light kiss on the cheek. While maintaining his usual neutral pose and just nodding in appreciation, inside of his mind things were a tad more rushed, with him wondering if someone had ever done that to him, quickly coming to the conclusion that this was a first. After all, no one but Leon had ever gotten so close to him really, and it was for a mere handshake or brotherly hug, at most. A kiss on the cheek was part of uncharted waters, but still, a curious soul was he, having the past of a traveler, so it was quite nice for such a small, but meaningful, thing to happen. Although, despite all this inner turmoil, perhaps she would be able to notice a humble smile hidden beneath the mouth piece that so much resembled a oridental demon's mask.

Noticing she was now at his wait, the fishmonger took no time before rising from his seat at the counter and revealing a path for her to walk over to his side, it was a matter of simply elevating a lighter wooden part, almost a secret door had it not been so small and quite obvious if one were to actually look. With that done, the male motioned for her to enter that area before he himself went over to the corner part, calmly opening the door the back area. There, several closer doors could be found in quite an extensive hallway. One side possessed the fish set of doors, keeping several different types of the watery creatures behind the closed entrances. On the other side, with a reduced number of doors, only two to be exact, that lead to large rooms, were the storage for all the drinks he offered for those with currency. Came in all shapes and sizes. Nevertheless, at the end of that hallway was a area composed of nothing but a table and a kitchen, with a large, large bed at the corner of it. There was another door, but it was clearly for the bathroom. Getting there, Kuromori would pull Harp a seat at the table, moving to the kitchen right after. "Is there a type of fish you would prefer?" , he gently asked, cleaning his hands at the sink and turning over to face her after he was done.♛

Harp followed him back as she looked around. Her eyes looking in every direction as she smiled brightly. When asked what fish she liked the most she told him her favorite was cod and she took a seat at a table. She felt honored that Kuro was cooking for her. She felt as if she was the only woman in the world. Once she was done eating she bought a lot of cod and salmon. She made sure she had thanked him properly for the meal and had been on her way. She would walk home carrying a large arm full of fish with the happiest expression she could muster.

Harp had been gone for a while. It seemed when she had gone out foraging she had gotten a bit lost. Having been gone for two weeks she had finally made her way back. She was covered in mud from head to toe. Finally seeing the port she instinctively walked toward Kuro's shop. She entered the shop as she looked around. She was a bit wobbly and it seemed as though she would pass out. She was tired and hungry.

Shifting into her snake form she curled up in a ball in a corner. Her yellow body was visible to anyone who entered. She felt vulnerable at the moment. She stayed curled up as she laid her head down on her long body. She was looking around for warmth as her fever was making her feel cold. Well, it was giving her chills. She slithered around the counter as she coiled up once more but this time at Kuro's feet. She hissed to let him know she was there. She was too tired to go any further. She would have gone to Leon but Kuro was all she could think about.

♛Ready for another regular day of work, it was never tiring to see the people pass by the front and gaze at the fish merchandise. Some looked at them curiously, finding some of the creatures odd or interest in how the meat had been so well cut. On other time, it was the sheer desire to buy some of the meat to consume soon after, as the flesh would not last much outside of that domain. The movement was somewhat regular currently, but there was an odd flow of stares moving in to his shop, weird enough to cause his worry over the matter, the origin of that attention being one of the corners of his market. The focus would remain above ground, aiming at people's faces with his arms folded over the counter, the eyes of singular design just lost in a wide range of thoughts. It wouldn't be changed until a hiss called out to him, the sight moving down to the ground and taking notice of a damaged looking snake, familiar in terms of coloration.

Rapidly snapping back into it, memory recollected that existence and his blood rushed considerably, discovering that the wounded reptile at his feet was Harp herself, coming around after a long time far from his life. Carefully, the crocodilian took her into his arms while she remained coiled up, and moved into the back area of the market, going up throught a set of concrete steps to his room. There, the male pulled out spare covers, made of thick fur and hide, and laid them out on the floor, while holding the snake circled in form with a single mighty arm. Gently, the snake was placed on top of the covers and the fishmonger went off to another corner, preparing a small fire to heat up water and clean the woman up, in snake form or not. Questions would be made, but to focus on saving her from the battered state was more important.♛

Harp had been washed up and cleaned. When Kuro was done she shifted back to her normal self. Her fever was high and her cheeks were rosy. She was comfortable in his bed as she nuzzled into the bed after thanking Kuro for helping her. Her long white hair flared out around her head. She soon fell asleep in the bed and slept the rest of the night.

The next day Harp shot up in the bed as she noticed it smelled different than her own. She looked down feeling relieved she was still clothed. She was afraid a bandit had caught her. She had no idea where she was at the moment. The fever she had seemed to have disappeared from her as well as her memory of yesterday. She looked clean and the place smelled of fish. Her stomach was growling as she looked around once more. "Leon? Hello?" She climbed from the bed as she began to walk around. She was looking for anyone who could tell her where she was.

She then caught the scent of Kuro. Her heart began to race as she rushed through the upstairs. Her eyes searching for the male who she thought was here. She made her way downstairs as she climbed onto his back and hugged him. She was so happy to see someone she knew. Her eyes filled with tears as she began to cry in joy, "I thought a bad person had taken me. I am so glad to see you Kuro. You handsome crocodile you." She was so overwhelmed with joy she wasn't going to hold her tongue this time. She really meant what she said. To her he was handsome. And she should have said it sooner. She sniffled having a low-grade fever but was very sure of her surroundings now. She buried her head in his back as she clung to Kuro.

{{New RP day}}

♛Having spent some of the previous day attending to the somewhat injured reptilian, the task of taking care of her proved to be quite the challenge considering his morals. To bathe her and care for the weakened one Especially when she shape shifted to that of a woman, but to someone as experienced in life as he already was, the activity was short and effective always. Still, once she was fine and well enough to be placed into bed to rest, the fishmonger had gone back down to serve the clients and keep an eye out on the fish merchandise, dealing with business as usual despite the sudden event taking his attention away from the daily. It took some weight though, picturing what kind of thing could've happened to the snake. It appeared to be some forest exploration gone wrong, or a number of worse possibilities could have happened instead. Whatever the case was, the male would have to wait until she was fine enough to get back onto her feet and explain all the things that developed when she was out of the market's region. Or the port region, to be detailed.

Now, doing the same as the previous day and the day before that mostly, Kuromori stood at the counter with arms folded over it, eyes of a gentle mood expressing a soft nature that the rest of his figure couldn't, imposing as he tended to be to the common opinion. Abruptly, his body was pushed forward and adrenaline sort of kicked in, but not enough to throw him into a violent reaction of anything of the type, as the weight itself was not that heavy. Quite the soft push, if he had to talk about it. "Good day, dear friend, I'm also glad to see you up and well. What happened to you?" ,the deep voice questioned, calling her by a kind and friendly name so as to not impose on their relationship as it maintained a friendships status yet. The compliment would be met without a verbal response, but it did cause him to chuckle, even if only a little. It was still strange to imagine someone saw him under such light, and while the male was getting used to that, responding to it was more difficult than it would be to a common person.♛

She climbed down as she walked beside him. A smile was on her face as she heard him call her friend earlier. That was why she held her tongue when around him but she was so happy it was him and not some bad person who had found her. She gave a nod as she thought of what to say about what had happened. She looked down as she rubbed the back of her head. "Actually I had gotten lost when I went out to look for new herbs. I lost my markers that would have led me back to town. I ended up in a swamp somewhere. I fell in and got cold from being wet." She swore an animal or something ate her breadcrumbs. She should rethink her markers.

"I took on my snake form but I don't think it helped since the weather is getting colder and I had nothing to prepare me for a few days outside in it." She sighed as she tilted her head. She didn't mean to get lost and normally never went too far from the town. But she was struggling to find more passionflowers. As well as some birch leaves and bark. They were great for hair loss as well as a few more things. She sat down on the floor as she looked at herself. "Did you clean me off? Thank you, Kuro." She was rather muddy so this was something she didn't expect him to do for her.

♛Listening calmly to the explanation given by the reptilian, it was quite the miracle that she was able to return without falling ill to a terminal level. Being lost in an unknown area with nothing but sheer luck and somewhat natural instinct was a dangerous situation to go through. Most likely, many have been led to their deaths in such a manner. Either way, it was a relief to see that her health was back to a good standard, and that she was safe now, located within the secure perimeter of his humble fish market, despite its impressive size. Along with lacking preparation for the weather to come, it was perhaps a mistake to take on a form that relied more on the hot climates than using a human shape, to better one's chances in the wild. Kuromori, experienced as he was in traveling and crossing harmful paths, calculated the whole event in his mind, and just felt impressed that the woman had managed to survive so well. Chances were, she was much tougher than one would think.

"I'm happy you are well now, to live through such a dangerous situation must have been horrible, without help or guidance. While I know you must do these explorations to gather materials, please have more care in the future, Harp" ,sincere words left his mouth, as his face looked back at her over his own, large and dark, shoulder. Being completely supported on the counter, with arms folded on it, his body had yet to turn towards her, and therefore, gentle gazes over his broad shoulders was all he would do. Then, as she questioned and thanked him for cleansing her body off of all the mud and dirt that had plagued her figure when she had arrived, the fishmonger gave a nod as words would perhaps stutter the moment they left his hidden lips. One could not argue against the fact he was a serious man most of the time, albeit caring and gentle, but it had been a considerable time since the figure of a nude physique had been exposed to him, and to handle that soft body with hands as tough and mighty as his was a surprisingly daring task. The thought was not enough to make him blush, but it lightly did throw the tall male off balance, mentally. "...It would be disrespectful to leave you in that state, deadly as well, I hope you don't mind the action but it was just in order to keep your health safe, my dear friend". A deep voice explained, lightly muffled by the mouthpiece, considering she might've felt uncomfortable with him tending to her naked body without a proper permission. After all, had anyone done the same to him, with the same backstory as to why, Kuro would still feel somewhat bothered by the event.♛
