โ™›The sound of wooden boards would provide the theme for each and every step taken by the darkened figure as it made its way towards the counter. Coming out of the tall door that led to the back, Kuromori walked in, wearing the always present mouth piece that would provide the confort and shady aesthetic that many admired, but also feared. The horns wered located besides weird glowing eyes that scanned the yet empty place with slow speed, as if searching for anything that seemed off or even a tad bit unconfortable, as his furrowed eyebrows would signal. While maintaining that expression, the man would move forward and rest a hand upon the counter, causing the faint sounds of claws against wood as each finger made contact with the brown material. Frozen in place on that position, the fishmonger would keep it for a few moments before a glance down broke the scene, followed by the sway of his dark crocodilian tail. It was rough and long, protected by rows of scales that made their way atop of the thick limb. Needless to say, it dusted the floor behind him like a broom, yet barely any specs of dust and dirt rose. Kuromori liked to keep the place clean.

Now, more than ever, was he prepared for business. The last adventure taken had immense rewards. Buckets and buckets of fish were optained, of all kinds, and the rivers were a tad more lucrative than past times when it came to the big fish game. The claws that rest upon the counter were the same ones pulling out humongous prey from the water into the land, but they were not easy. Oh, not at all. Brutal combat was almost a must when it came to those ferocious animals, and despite the power Kuromori possesses on the aquatic environment, they were more than able to stand their own and create a hellish hunt. Too bad a good hunter loves such moments, and thus, felt even more motivated to take them down. From such recent days, now only corpses and carefully cut pieces of meat remain, on the cold and ominous area of the back rooms. To have a small celebration, a hand would reach out for one of the exposed bottles sitting on the shelf near the fishmonger and he would wait no second before opening it. As the muscles of his jaw flexed to open, long and sharp teeth were put to show with the mouth piece coming down due to its specific design. The mouth behind the mask was horrendous, with the expected crocodilian features, but the inside of it was also similar to that of the animal. Unlike a common human, who would drink it bit by bit, even if quickly, the male just poured a good half of the drink into his mouth and lowered the bottle, the liquid visibly being passed down to the body with remarkable easy through the neck movement.

After a well satisfied sigh, Kuromori stared at the bottle. His mind on how the day would go and if any good activity would come his way through the door and down the stairs. He was a fan of the dark ambiance his taste had chosen while constructing each and every detail of the aesthetic. It was shady, but welcoming as well, confortable with the sets of tables and chairs neatly placed at the open space ahead of him. It made the old fish market idea go down the drain, and when people expect this old run down stall like area, with fishes rotting exposed to the clients, they are met with a more shop like place, with levels of fancy that could compare to some of the common shops around. The man was a beast, but a beast with a vision, and civilized taste. His tall figure would proceed to take a seat behind the counter, on a comfy wooden chair that could support his tail as well, and placed both hands on the surface in front. The mouth was covered, the clothes well kept to his best ability, and the humor was light. All seemed well to receive clients.โ™›

                              -- Enter --

Considering that there was the need for restocking for fish and liquor for the tavern, Kayne decided to stroll by the fish market for that business transaction. White puffs of air escaped his lips, the thin sheet of snow crunching under his boots as he headed inside through that wooden door. The smell of fish and alcohol invaded his nose, though it was mostly fresh much to his relief; the tavern chef wanted nothing else but the best for the tavern and inn, more so when the patrons there were looking for food. His crimson eyes were looking around the interior of the room, lights casting shadows on his form, before finally meeting up with the man face to face, the one in charge of the fish market. Sitting down on one of the stools near the wooden counter, he revealed a piece of folded paper from his pocket and handed it over to the guy, grinning.

"Greetings, Mr. Kuro. Here's the order for the Jolly Tavern and Inn, " the chef greeted with enthusiasm even with the chilly weather. After all, being cheerful even with the unfavorable circumstances was ingrained in his blood.

โ™›While quite lost on the thoughts he had created without reason, the sound of his wooden door opening up would snap the man out of it, to focus on the possible clients that were likely to show. His darkened eyes, glowing with their unusual color against the lights, would follow the steps of Kayne, the chef and the one handling the business over at the Jolly Tavern and Inn, a common visitor as his dealings with Kuro were established long ago to maintain a good flow of currency and products coming in and out of their workplaces. Watching as the dark haired male took a seat in front of him, just close enough to reach the folded paper Kayne was handing out for him. Calmly, his own hand would move and take hold of the paper, unfolding it with fingertips and reading its contents right after. "Greetings, friend" ,Kuro would look back up at the man and give a small nod before placing both hands on the counter for support as his large body rose from the seat. "I'll be right back with your items, just hold on a minute" ,with that, the fishmonger turned around slowly so not to slam his tail into something or his own chair and made way to the back rooms.

As the order had been set a good time before the chef's arrival, the liquor and the fishes needed were already separated neatly on a corner with all the items needed to contain them safely. Making use of his strength, he would lift quite a big bucket stacked to its full size in fishes and ice only to use his tall to pull along a thick wooden board with small wheels around it carrying the desired drinks. They came in closed boxes of wood in bottles and in medium sized barrels filled completely, placed one on top of the other and held together by ropes Kuro himself had tied firmly. Having all the products under his possession, the shifter headed back to the counter in long strides and puffing out air from his mouth, causing a weak cloud to escape from his mouth piece as he moved. The man was friendly, but his looks certainly were a tad more eery with the white breath visible from the cold. Upon reaching the counter where Kanye expected him, Kuromori put the bucket on the same counter and pulled the cart closer, giving again a nod to the chef and putting his hands together on top of his stomach. "Here's the order, hope I didn't take too long" ,sincere words would come out of his mouth in a deep tone as the fishmonger was a careful seller through and through, and would do his best to serve. Having that, his index finger directed towards the cart and the fish bucket. "Would you like some help getting these outside?" , offering a helping hand, the tall figure kept a friendly expression on the exposed parts of his face, with eyebrows lightly raised and eyes focused on the male's face, unsure of whether the man would require the help, if he would leave immediately or take time to start up a conversation.โ™›

Once the order has been acknowledged, Kayne was taking notice of the surroundings around him aside from the fishmonger taking in charge. One thing was for sure; it was mostly clean even with the smell of fish that wafted all around the area. Those who couldn't handle it may have to wear masks, though for the chef, it was something that he was used to because of walking around the market district for ingredients. His raiment was a partial godsend in case emergency orders would arise; because of the limitations, he should only do so sparingly. When Kuro spoke that the orders were ready for delivery, the chef hopped out of the stool, nodding. While his raiment was good for speeding things up, his body strength would not be enhanced.

"Thanks a lot. Expect a good tip alongside the full payment once we reach the tavern together," he declared with a smile. The heels of his boots clacked softly as he made his way back to the door; when he opened, the breeze came back at him with a force that was not too strong but still giving him the chills. For him and the tavern patrons, it would mean one thing; there was nothing that couldn't be fixed with some hot fish soup, at least that was they believed.

โ™›Receiving the confirmation from Kayne that his aid transporting was indeed needed, Kuromori began to make his preparations on the shop, to have certainty that things would be safe while he was out on business. As the chef took steps to the outside of the market, the fishmonger instead went towards the back room door and closed it properly, with its three great locks offering the safety needed. Calmly, he pulled out a set of keys bound by a thick metal ring, and picked out three, one after the other, as he went through each lock activating their mechanisms and having them shut firmly on themselves. With that done, all he had to do was put the keys back into his pocket, lift the bucket from the counter and use his muscular tail to bring the liquor cart along, following his own strides to the door. There was some difficulty pulling it up the stairs but they were inclined so the task of getting a cart through them was made easier, and a design on the wood granted the wheels space to roll with whoever lead the cart all the way from the first step, to the stairs' curve, and then outside.

As the tall male came close to the door, the cold wind brushed through his clothing and the light made his eyes squint a little before getting used to the whole scenario. A sun bath would be needed sooner than planned as he was now exposed to the chilly nature, yet he hoped the physical demand of taking the orders to the tavern would keep him warm enough to bear with it. His human side was nice to save him from dealing with the cold as he should have if Kuro was a crocodile full time, nothing but a wild beast out and about. "That is highly appreciated, my friend, let's make haste to the tavern then" ,one could not lie, Kuro was more than eager to move along to the tavern now that he noticed well the cold around him, each breeze was accepted but not all that much when it packed such an icy force. Moving the bucket to his own back for support, the fishmonger was able to steady it with a single hand, and grabbing with the free one the same part his tail had a hold of on the liquor cart, a movable handle that, when tugged on the right way, would unlock itself from the rest of the cart and go up in a curved angle. Raising that bit so it could adjust to the tall figure's height, moving it along was now a much simpler task and Kuromori was ready to part as soon as Kayne was, expecting him to take the lead as Kuro had the products to bring with.โ™›

Now that the two were on the way to the tavern, the chef was feeling the snow crunch on his shoes as they were walking by. There were still people calling out for potential customers and Kayne was the one saying hi to them, though still, there was something else crossing his mind as of this moment. The current relationship problem Lerato was facing was a blow to his attempt to patch things up back them, though it didn't stop the chef from trying again, this time with some advice from Seraphina. He was looking forward to the talk so that Lerato would gain further clarity; with that though engraved in his head, his red irises stared up at the sky above. Dusts of snowflakes were sprinkling up his face as he pondered on what to insinuate.

"Say, Kuro, have you ever experienced trying your best to help people out only to see that the outcome will not be what you are expecting? It has happened to me recently when trying to assist in patching up a relationship problem," he said, feeling the chill of the tiny ice particles against his cheeks. His walking was slow as he continued on rambling.

โ™›Calmly stepping through the snow with the items on top and behind him, Kuromori was quite enjoying the walk despite the cold, something somewhat unusual for him, perhaps it was the feeling of interacting more with the world since he was not usually the one to make the item transportation. Every little spec of ice falling upon his exposed hands and part of face would bother him a tad bit, but nothing the heat coming from his thick clothing could not stop. As expected, the movement was more than enough to warm him up wearing that fur clothing, so much that his thoughts would shift between that and how well he was feeling walking through the snow. An odd day it was. And as such, an interesting question would be raised by Kayne as the chef revealed a part of what was going on in his mind.

"Can't say I truly understand as I am of a few friends, you can imagine by my way of being, but..." ,his head raised, remembering times from before the market, the relationships he had built and had to let go, and the ones that were kept until that same day, some things did came to mind and could perhaps be useful for this, so a shot could be made. "During my traveling days, I made connections, friendships, and in that life style, you depend a lot on doing things for exchange or to just gain trust, nothing else, no real interest in who they actually were nor anything of the sort" ,the unusual eyes Kuromori possessed would then gaze down at the man beside him, continuing the conversation, "But the thing was, I learned in that time that trying something for someone else may go wrong, different from what you wanted, but if the person in question still left a place for you in them, then chances to fix things still exist. I myself am one to try things until I really know there is nothing to be done, or until the outcome is either what I envisioned or at least good enough for everyone involved" . The fishmonger was unsure if this would be of any help, of course he was willing to continue listening and at least serve as a venting focus for the male, but sometimes words from others were the light needed to overcome something. Kuro just wasn't sure if he was one to have such skills, and thought most likely not. โ™›

The snowflakes on his skin had melted gently as Kayne listened to the story; Kuro was definitely a nomad, a thing that he found interesting, while the chef wasn't traveling that much because he had to help out in the family business. "Problem is that the person can be a bit too stubborn. My co-worker can be too blunt at times but he's still a great guy." He, was, of course, talking about Lerato; the musician may have changed a lot after the break-up but it wouldn't mean that the memories of the past would be pushed aside forever. "I believe that he can be quite misguided recently and sometimes, he needs a reality check to recognize what he has to do to improve himself... That way, he will be able to learn how to love others without having to go overboard."

After that talk, there was silence for a few minutes all before Kayne let out a sheepish smile on his own facade, speaking out his last words before the trip would be continued all the way to the tavern. "Sorry if I rambled on too much. Still not much of a love guru, y' know?"

โ™›With an ear out for the remaining words Kayne had to speak about the matter, Kuro kept looking down at the man with total focus, interpreting what was said and searching within for a possible reply, if one was indeed needed. Although after listening to it all, the fishmonger deemed unnecessary to share any more words as the man seemed aware of what he had to do for the co-worker. One note on the tall male's head though, was that Kayne seemed to be quite the trustworthy person if he would think so deeply about another's feelings, even if that individual was special for him more than any other. Having that in mind, a reality check was truly what most people required in life, at times, in order to move on or to at least pick themselves up from where they were, to start anew, and the chef was certainly in the right path if having that co-worker improve was his top goal.

Passing through the silence minutes would provide them, and after paying attention to the 'guru part', Kuromori gave an understanding nod to the chef, identifying himself on that sentence as it was something the fishmonger had felt minutes before, when talking about his traveling days and what they had taught him. With all those small things done, Kuro continued to make way with Kayne to the tavern, bringing along all the good products.

โ™› Having arrived a good time before from the hidden parts of the market, mostly known as his room, Kuro could be found sitting confortably again at the counter, swaying his tail back and forth waiting for client movement. A good had already been made with the other day's business at the tavern, the payment was already safe within the shop and hidden from any who would think about sneaking around to steal. His sole company at that moment was the simple bottles of liquior he drank calmly, with the usual mega gulp every time he raised the bottle, the time difference between each taste was the long part, allowing him to be safe while drinking and still granting him the pleasure of really feeling the alcohol inside. There was no certainty as to how the day would go down, if any movement would come and what fish would serve as dinner in the night time. Perhaps one of the big ones as those were quite the meal, especially for one with his mouth and hunger, a true brute in essence.

Whatever the thought in his mind, what mattered was that things were calm, he was out of the cold where he stood, the liquor was in great quality, and money was not yet a problem for the fishmonger. All that Kuro had to do was be patient, find small ways to pass the time and care for anything within the market.โ™›

Leon entered the Deep Waters Fish Market, his golden eyes scanned the shop for his friend, Kuromori. It didnโ€™t take him long to spot the familiar shifter. Seated at the bar, several bottles around him despite the early hour, Leon shook his head. Crossing his arms over his chest, he chuckled a bit. He and Kuro had been friends for years. Once Kuro had set up his shop, Leon had become one of his best customers. After theyโ€™d gotten to know one another a bit, theyโ€™d become fast friends. As shifters they had a lot in common, throw in their love of fish and warm weather, and they were best buddies after a few months.

โ€œKuro! Drinking already?โ€ Leon chuckled as he approached, taking a seat next to him with a grin. โ€œIโ€™m surprised I didnโ€™t find you curled up next to the forge after the last snow storm we had. Where have you been, Kuro?โ€ Leon had found Kuro curled up next to his forge a time or two, much like how a cat would curl up in the sun to soak up all the heat. As a cold blooded shifter, Kuro suffered during the long, cold winters, but Leon didnโ€™t mind his friend crashing in his workshop to warm up. Kuro was pleasant company and he caught the tastiest fish.

โ™›No movement would be made by the shifter as he heard the entrance to his market being opened, listening carefully to the steps and trying to get a picture of the weight of whoever came, attempting to take a guess as his clients were usually the same. He did come to a guess, but the victory was short lived as Kuro discovered the owner of such steps, the man who had mantained a friendship with his reclusive self for a long time now, Leon. Their unity was known, as they could be seen at each other jobs even at odd times, with Leon there to grab a bite, or with Kuro at the forge looking for well deserved heat. Not only that, but the animals that gave them power and body have been seen in the same regions, sharing prey in the general sense, or even fighting, but the human side to them revealed that a partnership was the best and most useful way to go, besides having true friend spirit mixed within deeply.

At the drinking remark, Kuro's eyes grew a bit wide as he noticed the situation he was in. There was no care if a client came by and saw him in that situation, business didn't evolve looks or his taste, just his merch, but when a closer person came by, it was not as comfortable. Without time to do anything about the bottles, the fishmonger accepted reality and gave a simple nod as response, while watching the feline shifter take a seat next to him. "It was in my plans to make a visit, that forge was more than needed" ,with a slight chuckle at the end of his reply, Kuromori continued, "But business led me to the tavern, and I spent my time there, didn't even notice time pass... And honestly, the cold was more than enough motivation to keep me indoors". Correcting his posture and putting both hands on the table, the darkened male crossed his hands, wrapped his tail around his own chair as much as the limb's flexibility allowed, and looked back at Leon, "And what have you been doing? Any good news?"

Leon was a great man, and an even better friend, and client, but working in his business granted some different clients than Kuro is used to, and the area is also much different, so experiences of Leon's life tended to serve the fishmonger as good food for a conversation. Ladies were also a subject that came along, considering the feral beast Leon represents, and his natural looks that made females more interested. An interesting diversion in them as a duo, as Kuro was a more intimidating character, despite friendly when you exchange words.โ™›

Over the years Leon and Kuro had gotten into their fair share of trouble and mischief, whether it be at a tavern or some other reputable establishment. Leon had a tendency to irritate situations when it came to females and their mates. Despite being inexperienced with the females, they were drawn to his rakish looks, his scars, his build. Heโ€™d been told more than once that his golden eyes drew in the women, but that his strong body made them wonder what he would be like between the sheets. This usually sparked jealousy in other men and had caused more than a few brawls over the years. Truth be told, Leon was saving himself for his one true mate. Now that heโ€™d met Leonora, he felt that heโ€™d found his ideal female.

Grinning at Kuroโ€™s question, he couldnโ€™t help but show how happy he was. โ€œGood newsโ€ฆwell I suppose.โ€ He stated vaguely, his tail openly swishing behind him as he leaned against the counter and thought of Leonora and her lovely smile. Heโ€™d visited her the night before, spending a few hours with her before seeing her back to her home and seeking out his own bed. Heโ€™d wanted to spend the night with her, but heโ€™d forced himself to go home โ€“ he didnโ€™t want to rush things with herโ€ฆ

โ€œI thinkโ€ฆI think I may have found my mate, Kuro.โ€ He said with a wide grin as he glanced at Kuro. If Leon had a best friend, it would be Kuro. The two of them had been through thick and thin together. Theyโ€™d both come to Eoana for fresh starts and had step up their businesses around the same time. Theyโ€™d had one anotherโ€™s backs for years and Leo trusted the guy with his life โ€“ so he felt comfortable talking to him about his hope. He wanted Leonora as his mate. He was still getting to know her, that was true, but that didnโ€™t mean he didnโ€™t know deep down in his heart that she was the one for him.

โ€œI met her by chanceโ€ฆShe owns the Floating Lotus Tailor Shop in the Artisan District. Sheโ€™s lovely, Kuroโ€ฆโ€ Part of him wanted to mention her recent heart break over a certain fox, but that was her business and not something that sheโ€™d want others to know. โ€œHer nameโ€™s Leonora. Sheโ€™d a Leopard shifter, but sheโ€™d darker colored, like me.โ€ He said with a happy smile. Damn, he felt like a young cub, giddy and excited over a female. But unlike a cub, he knew this wasnโ€™t just a crushโ€ฆthis was the real deal.

โ™›At the first reply, Kuro could notice something was up. The grin made his own eyebrow rise, and the way Leon was reacting, something good actually did happen, most likely something big as well to get the man that bit worked up. The answer to that suspicion came fast, with Leon revealing how a mate might've been found for him. "Well, that's amazing news, my friend, honestly quite a shock". In all sincerity, this was indeed a shock as the whole time they knew each other, the black feline had never shown this level of interest for a female, despite his womanizer fame due to looks, strength and his personality too. The long smile upon his face was a clear indication of how invested he was in this matter, confidence rare to find in most of the people around, no matter their raiment and life development. An event of this nature was something to be admired, also celebrated when goals are conquered. Kuromori, having been a long time friend to Leon and sharing experiences from left to right, could not help but feel deeply happy for his partner as a chance for peace and affection surfaced for him.

The fishmonger calmly listened to the remaining info Leon had to share about this new found woman, apparently a business one with a curious similarity to the dark feline. Well, now he was not the only big cat with dark fur around anymore, and that duo was favorable. "Leon and Leonora, quite the similar names... One deals with armor, the other clothing, and both share a darkened form... Two big cats..." ,thinking basically outloud, Kuromori couldn't resist making connections between the two and what he knew, the pair were a match that you would normally find in books or old stories of knights and princesses. This was really a one of a kind thing, and now the crocodilian understood a bit better why Leon was so energetic about the subject. Also, the fishmonger thought his friend could be trusted to deal with such a matter despite not dealing all that much with women, as his maturity would aid in each step with Leonora. "You have stepped into an almost unbelievable situation here with this woman, don't know her personality but I imagine she is worthy of your care" . By all means, Kuromori was not trying to sound rude by that part, the fishmonger didn't know the female, how she was personality wise besides lovely, and as a close friend to the man, the crocodilian only have the usual worry that the romantic partner would be on his level, fitting for his trust and all things involved.

Kuro had no experience in flirting, receiving attention of that kind or even dealing with females in general all that much, all he had was the friendliness that he offered to each and every creature. So, having that in mind, it was easy to understand how outwordly and amazing it was for Kuromori to see his friend in that position, and what a great position it was, considering the female. At each gaze given to him by his old friend, the fishmonger could tell how deep the hope was for good things to flourish from that, the joy he had to maybe start a relationship, and discover brand new things and feelings. "Do you already have plans as to when you're going to see her again? Shouldn't be much trouble, I remember the tailor shop being around your area... Oh, yet another similarity" ,he stated, pointing out a new fact after showing focus on what Leon had in mind next with this subject.โ™›
