Alexei didn’t shy away when Shiloh began to move his hair, though he seemed to be fairly inexperienced with how to respond. He tilted his head to rest his cheek against Shiloh’s hand.
The things Shiloh said were true; Alexei had probably always had some sort of soft spot for him. It wasn’t love, at first. It was pity, probably—and that little stinging voice in the back of his head that always told him to help others when he could. It was partly why he’d worked so hard to be where he was today.
But pity, and the drive to help, had quickly morphed Alexei’s feelings and intentions.
Shiloh had been more than a project for a long time; he’d just needed a cover to stay in his life.
Tonight, Shiloh was bolder than he usually was, and Alexei would be a liar if he claimed he didn’t enjoy it. It might have been from the alcohol, or maybe they had just crossed a threshold in their relationship.
Either way, he didn’t say no.
“Shiloh,” he confessed, “I think I would like nothing more.”

He said yes... Kinda. He gave a positive response at least and Shiloh gave the sweetest and shiest smile he had in him. His heart was pounding in his chest and his ears were burning.
None of that mattered though, he was thrilled beyond words for this and didn't hesitate to give Alexei what he wanted. A moment later he found himself straddling the older man, any sexual thought far from his mind, only thinking he wanted to be able to kiss the man he dreamed of for so long.
At first he moved his thumb to trace over Alexei's lower lip, feeling as if he was a just in a dream. How could any of this be real? How had he deserved any of this? Unlike before, when he was terrified that it was a dream, even if he doubted it, he knew that everything was true, if only because he could feel Alexei under him, his chest rising and falling and his warmth too wonderful to ignore as his back was exposed to the rest of the freezing room.
"I love you..." He murmured once again, moment of contemplation passed before Shiloh allowed himself to lean in, eyes closing once his lips met Alexei's. They were soft, and warm and... The younger man could feel his stomach doing flips as he stayed there, a pleasant tingle starting in the base of his spine, then extending to the rest of his body, to his finger tips which still brushed the soft skin of Alexei's cheek. He truly never wished it to end.

Though Alexei stiffened when Shiloh settled atop of him, it seemed mostly because he was bracing for the weight and merely overestimated it. He wasn’t afraid of Shiloh—afraid for him, perhaps, but not afraid of him. If Shiloh was under the influence of alcohol, he was convinced that he could settle the matter without much trouble.
He patiently allowed Shiloh to trace his lips, watching him with calculating eyes.
Trying to determine how much of a factor the alcohol was in any of this.
The second kiss he was more prepared for, and their locked lips meant that he didn’t have the opportunity to reply without pulling away.
But then, he didn’t really need words to respond.
He returned the kiss in a very no-nonsense manner—strict and meticulous, deliberate and demanding. There was a discrete sense of need, of longing, but Alexei was reserved and did draw away before his kiss seemed too desperate.
“Shiloh,” he said, commandingly. “You’ve spent all day slaving over dinner. We should eat now, while it’s warm. You and I have all night for the rest of this.”
Though, he suspected ‘the rest of this’ would consist of either Shiloh sobering up or succumbing to the call of sleep.
Either way, they would spend the night together, closer now than they were before. Whatever else would follow would come in due time.
He brushed some curls out of Shiloh’s face, admiring it for a moment before his fingers brushed along the male’s jawline and traced a line gently over the soft skin below his ear. He did not want Shiloh to think he was brushing him aside, so he leaned forward and kissed the flesh, lingering for a good few seconds before he drew away once more. He felt the fatigue of hunger and knew it was only a matter of time before his body began to protest.
He didn’t want to be away from Shiloh, though, and offered him his hand.
“Let’s enjoy your meal, and then we’ll work out sleeping arrangements.”
And whatever else they needed to plan for this evening.
