"Because you haven't gone grocery shopping in over a week and while I've made sure that you have the proper staples for coffee and quick breakfasts, everything else has been delivery because you've been preoccupied." She brushed a chaste kiss to the line of his jaw before stepping back, taking him in just as easily. Kian had always cleaned up well, presenting himself in a refined, polished fashion that took him from the classroom during the day to the more upscale haunts of their evenings out. "I assume we're taking your car? Unless you'd like to save time and travel by darkness..." She teased softly, brushing her fingers lightly along his chest. "It's good seeing you out of your lab coat, sugar."

"I can make a list and have them deliver groceries tomorrow." That was easy enough to do given that he the people at his local store were rather intelligent, most days, and if they gave him bad produce he could just take it back. That would save him time and allow him to go to the lab as well if he needed to. As for travel.... "The car. The restaurant isn't that far and it will save us both the energy. We may want it later."

"I'd feel better if you did." Katrina drew her coat out of the closet, making sure that she had her ID with her while leaving the rest of the contents of her purse behind. She let Kian open the door for the two of them so they could continue their conversation on the trip to the restaurant. "A proper meal should help with energy for later." Pent up energy from cancelled and rescheduled dates would go enough of a distance otherwise. Once she was in the car, ignoring the initial chill of the seats before the heater kicked on, she glanced his way. "Tell me I don't need to worry about you, Kian."

"You can remind me to come morning to put in an order." Unless she had somewhere to be Kat could also help since she'd been spending more time in his home anyway. She was there often enough that he tended to keep snacks and foods around that she enjoyed as well. At least up until the last few weeks when he'd been a bit busy. He looked over at her at the question for a moment while he paused at a light. "You do not need to worry about what I assume you are worrying about. Were you not around, perhaps those fears would be founded but I have every faith that you will not allow me to get that far." No matter how far down into his research he got he had faith that Katrina would come find him and drag him out.

"I may have to remind you this evening so the delivery will arrive in time for you to make me breakfast come morning." Katrina snorted softly as she closed her eyes, letting her hand rest lightly on the console between them. Her fingertips lightly brushed against his thigh as she ignored his comments that she need not worry about him. Time would tell the truth in that. "Where are you taking me this evening, Kian?"

"It is called Le Coq au Vin. It is a small french establishment I have been to a handful of times. Not quite the right atmosphere for one." He smiled, setting his hand over hers after a moment. "The food is light but filling and always delicious." It was also one of the places in town that people liked to go to when they had a truly special occasion or wanted to impress. He needed to no neither with Katrina but so far she had enjoyed all of the fine dining establishments he'd taken her to. Kian knew that wasn't something she'd had the privilege to do before and letting her explore new things and see what she liked was enjoyable for him as well.

"... Not an easy place to get reservations, let alone last minute ones." She'd seen the name about here and there in reviews of cuisine in Destiny City. While she enjoyed various types of food, especially some of the finer things, many of the places he'd taken her were beyond her personal budget and each one had been an adventure in taste and indulgence. Sometimes Katrina wondered if Kian knew that she enjoyed him for more than just the money he spent on her. Sometimes, with the promise of delicious food, and likely a drink prepared to pair perfectly with the dining experience, she didn't care. "Holiday break should be starting soon... You aren't planning to spend the entire thing in your lab, are you?"

"They will hold a table for half an hour if you ask. It isnt' something they advertise and they will seat it if they need to and you are not there. It is a well guarded secret among those who frequent the higher end establishments." Some of the places around town had started the policy after finding out that people often liked to be able to make last minute networking meetings or last minute dates. The holidays though were not something he'd made plans for yet. With his mother gone he didn't have any idea what he'd intended to do since she was usually who he spent the holidays with. "I had not intended to but I honestly have not thought much about them yet."

"I've been trying to convince Lauri to have a small get together at the warehouse. Nothing too much, but a wine and cheese night with a white elephant or something might be nice." Katrina Halloran, doing a 'wine and cheese night'... Or even thinking about one. It felt amusing. It felt unheard of, and yet... A White Elephant, on the other hand, could be a complete disaster amongst their rag tag band of misfits and miscreants. What would the gifts be? Cases of beer? Bottles of liquor? Rope? "It's been one hell of a year."

"A get together with your little band of friends?" He raised a brow, slight smirk on his lips. He hadn't met all of them but he had met a few and the ones he hadn't there were plenty of stories to go around. Getting them all together in one place would be ... interesting. He did nod at her last comment though. The last year had been interesting and had taken turns he would have never expected. "That it has darling. and I am sure the next one will be just as interesting as this one has been."

Katrina didn't know whether or not Kian was the sentimental sort. He certainly seemed more practical than not when it all boiled down, so she hadn't bothered telling him why the past month had been of such a significance to her. When she'd met him her life had been in flux and now... Now things seemed as though they might be solid. Steady. Life was good. "You haven't had a chance to meet them properly. Lauri and Archer you've met briefly, but..." Her shoulders rose and fell in a light shrug. "At least one of the two of them is important to me."

"Well if you intend to have some sort of gathering let me know. I will make sure it is in my phone so I will have some sort of reminder." His phone at least still seemed to work correctly in the Negaverse, at least as far as the time was concerned. Setting an alarm there was he only way he could remember things on his own if he got lost in his work. He had been telling the truth though about the restaurant not being far and he pulled into a space alongside a small strip of shops and eateries.

"If I decide to throw something together I promise I won't let you forget it." Her fingers brushed lightly against his thigh as he put the car in park, bright green eyes watching him up until he slid out of the car. She waited until he came around to open the door for her before sliding out herself. "It's not too cold tonight. I'm starting to wonder when we'll have our first snow."

"I am going to assume a little later than last year but earlier than we'd like." It had already gotten cold enough he'd seen a few flurries late in the night when he returned home at an odd hour. But it hadn't been anything that would stick or anything worth talking about. "I should remember to find you a coat to go with that dress for when it does finally get that cold." He let her hook an arm around his before heading into the restaurant. The young woman at the hostess desk had a soft accent and was happy enough to show them to their table.

Her hand rested on his arm as they walked together, taking in the sights and sounds with wide eyes and great interest for her surroundings as she did whenever he took her somewhere new. She wanted to remember everything about the things he deemed important enough to show her; the places he thought special enough to take her. "Instead of letting me borrow yours if we're out too late?" Her brow lofted as she looked to him, lightest trace of a smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. "At least we know if we find ourselves snowed or iced in again we'll have far more interesting things to get up to than last year?"
