Niraya sighs and follows. her arm was weighing her down but she didn't want to abadon it. she could fix it after all. Blitz was fidgity she could tell since he kept switching ammo types. he strikes up some conversation. "well i would have to say it is. Cookies and cream icecream...i like to read a good action story that has some romance in it.." She notices some movement nearby. "were not alone." She keeps her ears up something was coming. but blitz knew it already. he looked ready for something.

spaceJasper had been walking for about twenty minutes now and had come across two obstacles of the course: a wall climb over a wall that seemed to stretch for miles, so she couldn't go around it, and a tunnel crawl where the only way around a mountain was crawling through an underground tunnel. She doesn't mind heights, but having to crawl through that tunnel for what felt like five entire minutes was nerve-wracking. So far, she hadn't run into any more obstacles or Grimm, and she was starting to get bored. Currently, Jasper was twirling an arrow in her fingers as she walked through the trees. She was starting to see snow on the ground, but it was mostly just wet ground, rather than layers of white.
spaceWhile she wasn't exactly dressed for the cold weather, she buffed up her aura to provide something against the weather. It was sunny, at least, and it added some warmth to the day. She thought back to her days in Vacuo. It was always warm, sunny, bright. It was starkly different from Atlas. She missed it. Jasper stopped walking and surveyed her surroundings. She closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath in. It was so quiet in this forest. Wait. Why was it so quiet, though? It was weird that she hadn't run into anything again yet. Where were all the Grimm? Where was her challenge?
spaceOff in the distance, she heard the howling and growls of Beowolves and loud, distinct bangs. Before she could even think, Jasper took off running in that direction. She was itching for a fight. Before she reached the scene, though, all the noise stopped. But the time she got there, there were the last remnants of Grimm scattering into the wind. So, whoever did this must be close, and they must be strong, 'Partner material.' A grin found its way on Jasper's lips as she ran off in the direction she assumed this mystery person went. It helped that there were discarded rounds almost pointing the way to her. It didn't take long for her to catch up to a young man with brown hair, his back to her as he walked along. He almost looked like he belonged in this forest.
space"Hey--!" Her greeting cut short when a Creep came crashing through the trees in between the two trainees. It let out a loud screech and took off running towards Jasper. She had already drawn an arrow, freshly filled with burn dust, and set it loose on the creature, hitting it on its uncovered jaw. It paused briefly, but continued advancing. She hit a switch and her longbow unlatched in the middle, two short swords emerging from the hilt, the tendrils of the bow offering some shielding. She used her left one to crack the Creep on the underside of its head, then stabbed the right into the soft spot under its chin. She let out a cry and ripped her sword to the side to create a fatal gash on the beast. Its jaw was nearly disconnected on the one side, Jasper noted when it crumbled into the ground. She stepped over the disappearing body and wiped her forehead, casting a friendly smile at the young man ahead of her, locking eyes with him.
space"Sorry! I think it might have followed me here from that other battle site! Was that you? I could barely tell what kind of Grimm they were when I got there." She spoke as she walked up to him, fashioning her short swords back into a longbow. When she came to stand beside him, Jasper noticed that he absolutely towered over her. The young man was at least an entire foot taller than she was. Still, she looked up at him with a confidence that said she was just as strong. There was no shame in Jasper's bones, that was for sure, "The name's Jasper, and it looks like we're going to be partners, huh?" She held her longbow in one hand and had her other pressed against her hip as she waited for his response.

A voice called out to him from behind, human, not grimm. He stopped, and cocked a look over his shoulder. A young woman, blonde, short, atleast compared to him. Armed with a bow, and a quiver of arrows. Likely dust laced. Her apparel was light, not meant for the cold of Atlas. He couldnt talk on that point, lacking sleeves as he was, but his whole life had been spent experiencing the natural n** of Atlas's climate. Before she could finish her greeting, a lone creep burst forth and took after her. Magnis came up, Hammer cocked to deliver a blast with enough stopping power to halt a Beringel's charge, but she had already engaged the beast. Amongst the family, it was considered rude beyond all manners to take a kill belonging to another, so he eased the hammer back, and lowered his weapon.
She fought with some skill, but failed to dispatch the creep with a single blow like he'd have preferred. Given the rules they'd been issued, she was now his partner, and that rule usually applied to after the initiation as well. He'd make time to work on that aspect with her. After dispatching her foe, she finished her greeting, commenting on his work on the beowolves. " Beowolves, Easy prey." He stated, keeping to his philosophy about needless words. She introduced herself as Jasper, so he was obliged to give his own name," Lukas. And yes, by the rules Ironwood laid out, we are partners." He stated the affirmative. He wasnt sure to what to make of the foreigner. Her combat with the creep had been flashy, and full of showmanship.
He leveled her with a cool brown gaze. " you fight well, but do not show off for my sake. Atlas is cold, it will set into your muscles and make every move more taxing. You should look to augment that outfit with some warmer elements." Then, feeling he'd said what he needed to he looked back to the direction he had been heading. The faint breeze carried the sounds of others locked in battles of their own, but this was their test to face, they did not need rescue. He jerked his head in the direction he had been traveling, pointing with his chin, before resuming his journey.

Niraya nods when Blitz offered for him to take the lead on the fight. Niraya hears some trees falling nearby. She turns to see what look like a tree creature walk towards them. it stares them down. "ugh...i have no clue what that thing is." it lifts up its tree like arm and brings it down on them

Instead of rolling to the side or just stepping out of the way,he stood and took it head on,catching the tree trunk limb as it comes down,the height difference between Niraya and him being more than enough to keep her out of reach of the creatures first attack.The sawblades on his greaves began spinning slowly at first and beginning to pick up speed,as he prepares to test the thought that if it looks like a tree it may be cut through just as easily as one,he also had the boosters charging up as well for some extra force to the kick so he could end this as quick as possible.
Finally he would push back on the arm with full force,pushing it back up enough to flip onto his hand and kick out at the limb,separating a large about a quarter of the arm and then getting back onto his feet,taking a balanced stance and moving back and forth,ready to strike.Instead of attacking he began to shift towards the side to get away from Niraya.

Niraya had moved out of the way but was supprised when Blitz just stood there and held back the large tree of an arm. Niraya was looking at the thing it definatly wasn't natural. when he cut off a bit of the arm the creature lets our a roar. it backs off and slams its damaged limb into the ground and when it lifted it had a hand made of stones. it balls it up into a bolder of a fist and thrust it at Blitz.
Niraya was supprised that it just gets itself a hand. then she emembered a grimm that did something similar. "Keep it busy! I have an Idea!" Niraya retreates into the woods. She couldn't hold her gun but maybe she could make a makeshift stand.

Atlas Academy: Team Designation Regiment A Message from General Ironwood (broadcasting through loudspeakers set up around mantle ridgeway) "Students. Undoubtedly, you have run into your fair share of trials. Be that engaging with Grimm, getting along with your new partners, or the obstacles we have set up throughout the forest. As of right now, we are uploading a countdown clock to your scrolls. Please check them. You have one hour to find your way to the edge of Mantle Ridgeway, where the lush greens end and where the snow and mountains begin, and locate a temple housing various relics. All of the teams will choose one relic. If you fail to reach the temple within the time displayed time limit, you will come back here tomorrow for a second trial. This will hinder any of your other peers that cannot be placed on a team, as they will have to wait on you. So, I would suggest making sure you find the temple today. You all are doing well thus far, keep it up, and best of luck."

spaceAs he spoke, Jasper took a moment to look at his weapons, just to see what he was working with. Did he... dual wield battle axes? Just by looking at him, she could tell he was strong. He almost reminded her of Blitz with how short his speech was. Her mind wandered to Niraya and Blitz, then, and she wondered how they were fairing. She almost expected to see Niraya's drone any second now but, this forest was huge, she could be anywhere. Who knows? Maybe they found each other. "Not much of a talker, eh?" She smiled and tilted her head up at him. She didn't mind that he wasn't talkative; that just meant whenever he spoke it would be important. The brunette continued on to offer his name, Lukas, and agreed that they were now partners. She simply smiled and nodded. With his weapons, she assumed he was more of a close range fighter, which would work well with her long range style. They would just have to see, she supposed.
spaceShe was about to suggest they push on, but then Lukas decided to speak up again. Jasper met his gaze and meant to listen intently. She figured it would be important. Then, he commented on her showmanship and her... clothes. Of all things. The blonde scowled lightly and pouted, raising an eyebrow. She let her hand fall from her hip, straightening her stance out, "Well, thanks, but I wasn't showing off for you." How could she say that she was showing of for herself without sounding vain? She decided to just let that go, "I'll keep that in mind, Lukas." He had a fair point. Using her aura to stay warm, while passive, was kind of a waste. She just wouldn't outwardly admit to that. After that, he looked off and nodded in the direction she assumed he was traveling in.
spaceJasper stood in her spot for a moment, then followed after him without saying another word. What was with this guy? Maybe she was too eager to find a partner and they wouldn't be a good fit. Oh well, nothing she could do about it now. She didn't think he was a "speaks only when there's something important to say" types. He was just quiet and spoke when he felt like it. At least he was honest... but, still. They had just met and right off he wanted to say something about her clothes? The more she thought about it, the deeper her pout grew. The archer fashioned her bow in its place on her back, taking an arrow from her quiver to twirl in her fingers again. She stared at his back, studying him, as she walked behind them along his chosen path. It was then that an announcement was made over the loudspeakers, Ironwood's voice filling the forest. She listened intently was all her previous thoughts floated away. There was a new goal at hand. She smiled and quickened her pace a bit to catch up with Lukas.
space"Are we heading in the right direction, you think? Know what kind of temple it is?" Curious eyes on him, now just rolling the arrow between her thumb and index fingers, she spoke a little excitedly "Atlas is a whole new element for me. I've never seen architecture the way it is here. Vacuo, don't know if you've ever been there, but its pretty basic compared to all this." She waved her free hand around in the air, motioning at everything around them. Jasper figured he wasn't the small talk type, but that didn't mean she couldn't fill the void of silence with conversation. Besides, they needed to get to know each other one way or another, right?

He'd form a cross with his arms to block the blow,taking it and skidding backwards into a tree,his eyes widening slightly when he hears the announcement,he'd drop his arms and run forward,the boosters on his right gauntlet charging while he takes his shotgun off his back and flipping it to push the mechanism to prime it to fire.He would fire an ice slug at it's Undamaged arm,freezing it solid quickly and making it much more fragile than it normally would be,jumping and landing on its arm then quickly pushing off with great force,shattering the wooden limb.The presumed Geist would punch with it's Boulder hand,Blitz spinning mid air and readying to punch downwards,using the gauntlet to propel himself and shatter the rock into small pieces.He'd smile as he landed,immediately coming up with a one-liner "Guess you're disarmed for now huh big guy?"

Niraya props her gun agaisnt a low hanging tree branch and overcharges the shot. when Blitz broke the first arm she takes aim. by the time Blitz broke the second arm she has spotted a small mask hidden in the knot of the main body of the creature. "Boom!" She pulls the trigger and the top half of the beast's body explodes from the kinetic force of that shot. the ghist was exposed pefect opertunity to finish it.
Niraya was launches backwords and strikes a tree pretty hard. "Ow. owowowowowow. note to self. dont overcharge." She rubs the back of her and looks back at where the giest Grimm was to see if Blitz had taken the opening she had made.

He'd quickly pivot on his heel,crouching and leaping upwards,his sawblades spinning was he cuts his way through the falling tree trunks,flipping backwards as he cuts through the final trunk,a fiery blue platform forming just below his feet as he pushes off towards the Geist's mask,snatching it out of the air and falling back to the ground.Blitz would land with a thud,looking at the Geist mask as he begins to squeeze it slowly and painfully,cracks spreading through it until finally he crushes it,turning to where he thought Niraya was and giving her the thumbs up and smiling.

Niraya gets up and puts away her gun. it was now depleted of its lightning dust. she had some extra cartridges but without a second hand it would a little difficult to replace it. She pulls out her blade and walks over to Blitz. "Wasn't expecting one of them to show up...lets get to this ruin before more show up." Niraya had tears in her eyes from the headache she had but she tried her best not to show herself being in pain.
She looks at the feed from her drone and points in the direction they needed to go. though at first she was pointing in a random direction as she was trying to figure out where she was relitive to the ruins. She points in the direction they needed to go and she looks at blitz. "care to take the lead its that way."

Niraya follows blitz but shakes her head when he offered to reload her rifle. "no need. its pretty simple to reload it just requires two hands. and since i cant use it without bracing the gun against something. which makes it really hard to use. it wont be of much use." She was watching the drone feed. she could see people were starting to make there way towards the Ruin. "were almost done with this. once we get this relic thing were done and i can get to work fixing my arm."
