"That's cool!" Nix said about Day & Night. He wanted to ask about homeworlds, but decided...other things first! "You got it!" he said, and rather than charging forward right away, he lurched forward and...stuck out his tongue! A rather long tongue materialized and rocketed forward, obviously aiming to thump Minchir in the chest. Toby didn't want to hurt him, really, so made sure he wasn't slinging it forward as hard as he could, but it would still be startling if it hit. Immediately after launching 'his tongue,' he then charged forward, intent on following up the tongue thump with a tackle or a swing of a fist. "Yah!" Sailor Scout Attack: Tongue Bash Nix rocks forward, opens his mouth, and creates a large ethereal frog tongue which shoots out up to 15 feet away. It strikes with pretty decent force, able to knock things back, hurt like a hard punch. The attack may leave a bruise if the player chooses to take any lasting damage. Though the tongue is ethereal and can only hit one target per cast, if he hits a small, light object, it may stick to the tongue as it retracts. As soon as the tongue has fully retracted, it disappears. He can do this three times.

He 'oofed' loudly as the tongue (if one could call it that) slammed into the arm blocking his chest, taking a step backwards to stabilize himself. "Magic right off the bat, hmm? Wouldn't that work a little better if your target is right on top of you and you want to make sure they don't have space to maneuver away?" he asked as he stepped in, dropping his arms to cup his hands together as he briefly dropped the distance between them and fully intent on taking that second swing from Nix. " The Light of Day," he murmured as he closed his eyes, before the spot of light between his hands burst into a full radius of blinding light enveloped them both. With Nix so close, the kick he followed up with was at least within reach - even if he couldn't particularly see where the other Senshi was. Whoops. Quote: Sailor Scout Attack: The Light of Day Minchir can create an area of bright sunlight, roughly 7 feet in diameter around a target. All who enter it will be treated to the blinding field of white. It lasts for 25 seconds. A lingering 'white spot' vision effect can linger for up to another 30 seconds for flavor-text purposes. Can use twice per battle.

Nix felt his hand connect with Minchir...and, perhaps unsurprisingly, he realized punching somebody really doesn't feel nice. He didn't have much time to reflect upon that, because he realized his opponent was mumbling something...and suddenly everything was bright! SO BRIGHT. "GEH!" he sputtered in surprise, though didn't actually stop his motion--he didn't change it, either, which means the kick that swung out in the blinding light hit him easily, knocking his legs out from under him, sending him tumbling forward. He had enough grace (and perhaps a bit of practice with falling on his face) to actually land on his hands and roll forward, but he still only really ended up on his back. "So bright," he muttered, and from his spot on the ground, started to roll to the side in order to get out of the way and get back up.

15....16.....Minchir grinned, continuing to count under his breath as he lingered in his bright field. It was funny how long 30 seconds was when you were waiting to open your eyes again. "Yeah! It gets a little sunny in here," he chuckled, tapping his toes on the ground. 27...28....30. He opened his eyes as the field vanished from around him, immediately moving forward to strike again, keeping the same grin on his face. If it hadn't been a playful spar, it probably would have been creepy.

As he had very little exposure to different senshis' powers, Nix had basically know idea when the brightness would end...but he at least had the sense that it was blinding to Minchir, too...which was good. It let him get back to his feet more carefully than he'd expected, though he kept his eyes squeezed shut. Getting back up caused a THUNK as he bumped something on the roof, and he scooted away from that carefully. After what seemed like an eternity, but was definitely less than a minute, he felt like the light was fading, and so opened an eye cautiously...only to be met with the vision of a rapidly approaching fist! He yelped in surprise as his eyes shot open, and he jumped back, getting brushed by the swing. He squinted and blinked, frowning some. "Guess that uh...makes sense from 'day', huh?" he said, rubbing an eye while watching carefully. He waited for what he estimated to be the next time Minchir was going to swing or kick at him, then bounced his froggy legs to try to jump right over his opponent, hoping that the move would make a good opening to kick.

"Careful jumping back without checking! We're still on a rooftop and it does eventually run out," Minchir warned, though Nix hadn't actually been in danger at that point. "I get brighter, Alphard gets a little darker, we both sit in our sphere wondering how we're any different from it, then I make pancakes." How...domestic? As Nix avoided his swing, he paused mid step to catch himself, following the jump overhead before reaching out to try and grab one of his feet. It seemed like a reasonable way to not get kicked in the face.....right? Right?

Nix had nodded at the advice, but now he was sailing overhead, ready to spin and...URK! "Oh crap!" Hand on his ankle! His nice round trajectory suddenly had a corner to it, and he yelped again, dropping at the wrong angle. As he dropped, he tried to twist out of the grasp and swing with the other foot to kick...but he actually reacted somewhat too late, so was unlikely to do much beyond thumping into one of Minchir's legs. Then he landed with a thud and an, "oof!" as the wind was knocked out of him. He coughed once and said with a laugh, "Nice catch...I kinda feel like a pancake after that landing!" He was alright, though. But thinking about pancakes. Oh, psychological warfare! he thought as he moved to roll away and get back up again.

Minchir was knocked over by the fall as well, landing on his side with a loud 'THUD' and a wince. Maybe trying to grab people who were jumping over you before you had completely stable footing wasn't the best idea, but he'd done it anyways. And now as Nix rolled up to his feet, Minchir rolled onto his stomach and pushed himself up. "Man, we'd both have been dead in the right situation with that one," he half laughed as he got back up to his feet, dusting himself off. "How do we want to pick a winner on this? Whoever gets knocked down the most or....?" he trailed off as he stepped in and attempted to sweep Nix's feet out from underneath him again.

"Yeah, heh," Nix agreed as he came back up. "Probably...best if I didn't try that much, huh?" He considered the question of how to decide the winner a moment and started, "Well, I--WAH!" He let his guard down as he thought, and that cost him, as he went down once again. "Ow!" he grunted as he landed on his butt..but then laughed. "I'm definitely losing that one," he said cheerfully, while rubbing his butt. He didn't make any moves to get back up. In fact, he was actually breathing pretty hard...though definitely trying to disguise it. It had been a pretty exhausting afternoon, all told, even before getting into a race with Minchir.

Minchir took a moment to catch his breath as Nix laid out on the ground, also catching his despite the laughter. "No no, it was a good maneuver. Just gotta learn how you'd circumvent getting grabbed like that," he mused. "And neither of us fell off the roof, so there is that too," he added, finally sitting down on the roof next to him and leaning back onto his hands with a sigh. "It's nice....to do that without worrying the other person is going to kill you," though sometimes he wondered if he was still being watched. By who? He wasn't necessarily sure, to be honest. "I'll call it a tie. I'm at least hoping you got something good out of that."

"Yeah, guess I should have thought of getting grabbed," Nix said, and sat back up while Minchir sat next to him. "Honestly, I'm kind of, uh, super terrified of getting into a real fight. I met one of the uhm..." he paused, making sure he was remembering the right word, "Negaverse people once. Before I was Nix." He breathed out. "It was, uhm. Scary." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I thought...maybe if I trained like I'm some anime hero, it would be less, you know, impossible to deal with?" He laughed then, an actually happy laugh in spite of what he was saying. "Worked better than I thought," he patted one of his legs, "Cuz I met a talking cat while doing that." "A tie works for me! This was helpful!" he nodded, then went on, "But I think I need ta practice waaay more. Gotta learn to fight right...right?" He rubbed his chin. "Wouldn't mind doing this again some time. Maybe, uh...without having been running around like a crazy person for a couple hours first." A snort, then. "Might be able to do it more than 5 minutes, then." He held out a hand to shake, grinning at Minchir. "Anyway, thanks! I hope everybody I meet like this is as fun as you!"

Minchir nodded, accepting the hand that was extended to him with a firm shake. "Yeah, I was kind of in the middle of patrols too. Gotta work on making sure I don't overexert on small things. Might get punched by an agent of Chaos," especially one more skilled in combat than he was. Boo. "I met the talking cat on accident myself. I'm not even from Destiny City. I met the cat on vacation and then was lucky enough we all decided to move here," he didn't want to talk about what had happened back home, but he did laugh, brushing the worry that nagged at the back of his mind off. Alas. He didn't have the luxury to do anything with that right then. "I can't guarantee they will be, but I hope they treat you well anyways," he grinned. "And I hope you get home from every patrol you go on."

"Patrols," Nix said in a musing tone. "I haven't, uh, really done anything like that. Do you just...pick an area and look for trouble?" He idly twirled the green patch of his hair as he thought about what to say, exactly. "I really only just got powers and stuff, right before Thanksgiving, so I guess it's not weird I haven't. I, uh...power up every day, and try new things, see what I can pull off, but I haven't, you know, gone looking for trouble." He shrugged, and bounced back up to his feet, taking a few steps toward the edge. "Anyway! This would be the best thing ever if you didn't have to worry about the Chaos people, wouldn't it? I mean, holy crap, we jumped up here." He threw his arms wide at that, then put them back down and looked back to Minchir, grinning. "If that's not the coolest thing ever, I really don't know what is." demon_pachabel We can probably end it around now if you'd like Minchir to take off. Or they can talk about stuffs. There are definitely things Nix would happily ask about. Up to you!

Oh no. Oh no, he might have found a fresh baby. "Did your cat explain auras to you at all? If not, I may uh...have to help explain stuff when I have time to walk through it with you." mostly to pick an aura that didn't feel like it would get both of them murdered. Maybe a Captain. The two of them would be alright with a Captain, right? Still, Nix's enthusiasm was nice, at least. "Yeah! Have you gotten any contacts in your communicator yet?" he asked, hunting around for the most mundane looking communicator in the world. It was a cell phone. He should have just called it a cell phone. "It'll make it easier to get in touch if you need me at any point." Tolin Kalin We can wrap soon and then start another <3

"Yeah, he did," Nix replied with a nod. "It's a bit hard to sort out, and sometimes there's really...weird stuff around." He paused, and shrugged a little. "I've found a couple youma since powering up, so I know I can deal with them...uh, somewhat." "Communi..." he started, then laughed. "Oh, right," he pulled out his, like a green iPhone. "I've used this some...but more contacts are good!" Nix was, of course, very happy to add more people to it. It seemed kind of... sad to him to have it so empty. And it's not like he could just ask any random person to add to it. That wouldn't do at all. He's never been very good at keeping secrets, but even he recognized he couldn't just freely mention senshi powers, after all. "Maybe I can bother you later with it to have a rematch!" he suggested with a grin. "Or...what was it I was gonna ask about earlier...?" He scratched his head, and then shrugged. "Well, if I think of it, I'll bother you!" demon_pachabel Oh yeah! New RP! Good idea. XD
