"It's the best holiday," Nash conceded, because this was perfectly true. "I'm glad I got to help organize s**t, although I haven't tried any of the drinks yet, I was waiting to see what everyone else wants to order first."
He gave the fish - and its owner - a faintly amused smile before glancing back at Melody.
"Melvin's new toy," Nash drawled. He reached up a hand and brushed a feather from Melody's costume before his arm dropped again. "Nice costume. What are you, exactly? You look like a bird, I think, or some sort of dancer, but I dunno what from."
Green eyes slid towards Melvin. Nash lifted a hand and idly looped a finger in the belt at Melvin's waist, tugging slightly as he surveyed the costume. He hadn't really talked to Melvin since their little excursion to the zoo - and the planning had mostly been a chaotic affair of ideas and actually doing work.
"I'm Maleficent," he said, with a sly grin as his hand dropped from Melvin's waist to readjust his own cape. "The evil queen from Sleeping Beauty."
He was very much not trying to look at Lawrence, except he did, the raised glass in his direction making Nash's irritation flare. He didn't recognize the man next to him, Nash tilting his head slightly towards Melvin.
"That the infamous hubby?"

An arm slung around both Rhys and Seren's necks from behind.
"Candy," said October seriously, nodding his head towards the bartop. He was dressed in an all black ensemble, sans the wig, which he hadn't bothered with.

Lysander and Fred arrived with Roswell. Fred was dressed in an impressive upcycled March hare costume made out of pink curtains he'd salvaged and re stitched up. He'd even made a set of ears to go with it and was proud of himself, his hair matching the pink outfit and with a fancy pink cravat to go with the suit he'd designed.
"Happy Halloween." he said brightly.
Lysander was less impressively dressed. He'd decided to go with an old Halloween favourite, dressed as a sheet ghost with two eye holes cut out for seeing and with the whole thing not touching the ground at all.
He stopped dead when he saw the food. "Oh my god." he said under his breath and very quickly scooted off in the direction of the fried chicken.

At the facehugger answer, the expression on his face suddenly shifted with dawning realization. "Ohhhh, Aliens and you're dressed to match?" He smiled at Melvin, not wanting to ruin the holiday any more than he did. He turned his attention back as Nash stated exactly why this holiday was not to be ruined, "It is the best. It's not long after my birthday too, so it's double awesome." Halloween was the great equalizer, no one was exactly who they normally were. People were free to express themselves without too much judgement. He gazed up to watch the grey fish-facehugger thing float about a little, "How does it stay up there? Helium?" At the gesture, Melody smiled brightly at Nash. He'd been nervous no one would get it before, but in reality it felt like a relaxed sharing of the minds they were all taking part in. "I'm the Black Swan," and to that he took a very careful and very elaborate bow. "And you make a beautiful Evil Queen."

Melvin smiled as he was tugged closer, moving his hands to set upon Nash' waist as he grinned. Without any preparations to attend to at the moment and more or less waiting for more people to wreck the place, there was some time to actually enjoy the holiday and take in all the sights. "The evil Queen, and a right mean dragon you are in there." He moved in to kiss him, whispering into his ear. "If you wanna send me to bed, I'd happily obey your command, your Highness."
Upon release, Melvin glanced back up at Babel. "Magic." He said, as it was far easier to explain that it was Atlantian technology and he didn't have a answer.
In a commotion the Michael's household flooded into the bar, Melvin's focus traveling on Mik a moment with a quirk of a smile, stretched more as Babel translated exactly what Lawr and Mik were arguing about, before his attention went cold and sharp on Rodney. Nash' question had Melvin leaning closer to him. "Yup. Rodney. The little termite." He glanced at Lawr. "Lawr will put on as fake of a innocent routine as the angel costume he is wearing around him, so he probably will behave enough tonight." He put on a clearly fake smile and waved at Lawr and Rodney before he dropped it quickly. "Guess I'll have to be sweet......enough." He glanced at Nash in a way that said it might require some drinking.
He looked over at Nash. "Luckily I have a devious little distraction to look at all night." Not that Nash was free to wander.

"When's your birthday? You said not long after, which means it just happened, so happy belated birthday," said Nash, sounding amused. "As for your swan ensemble, its pretty good, you look nice. Better than some people, that's for damn certain," he added, pointedly without looking at a specific duo.
"And thanks," he added, grin widening at the compliment. "I like to think I look pretty badass myself."
Melvin's hands had settled on his waist. Nash turned to look at him, leaning in to return the kiss with a warm one of his own, inwardly pleased that, in spite of their stupid mission, things were returning to normal. Normalish. Kind of normal. The whispered comment made the grin light in Nash's eyes.
"Good to know," he said, and lifted his glass to take a sip of his water, debating on a mixed drink while simultaneously eyeing Lawrence and his husband and the two blonds he remembered from dare night with some apprehension.
"What kind of guy marries a guy like that?" Nash muttered, offering Lawrence the most sickeningly sweet flutter of lashes that he could. He tilted his head back to Melvin and Melody.
"Glad there's someone here to appreciate me," he said airily. "Drinks?"

"Fear shield," he pointed out, "and me, you won't break your neck if you drink more than one."
Rhys gave her a grin before turning his attention to the spread, nodding his approval. Food would definitely keep his spirits high for the night, especially if he was free to go for more than just one or two servings. He planned on going quite a number of times, actually, if they were gonna be here for more than an hour or two, so he carefully looked the table over. "Looks good, so that's a plus for me," he agreed, then beginning to move toward the drinks. He was about to comment when someone's arm slung over his shoulders, sending an unpleasant chill down his spine. The voice, though, he recognized and he blinked.
"Dude," he said, looking over and noting he had an arm over Seren, too. It was hard to tell him to shove off just from that, but he held his tongue. October was, to him, a decent, if lazy, guy. "Food first. Candy'll mess up the appetite, would be a waste."

Melody awkwardly glanced down at the bar when the two began kissing and fondling, mostly to avoid being too third-wheel-y. Only glancing away when it was noted the whole Lawr clan had arrived. He also waved at them, but was actually being friendly when doing so. He picked up on the blatant animosity shortly after though and reeled back on being possibly mistaken as too friendly, given certain histories. "Oh? um, it was the twenty-third. I turned twenty," he grinned. "Good thing there's no preposterous age limits on this island for drinking, right?" He felt that was not too subtle of a yes. Drinks. Please.

"Mmmm I mean, ok. Still, it would hurt if I stumbled, even if you caught me. I am so not used to high heels yet." She tucked her arm into his, though, for support and also for the comfort of herself. She considered the various spreads, and the potential drinks, too. "I think I will eat something first. Have food in me to tamper any effects from the alcohol, yeah? I think it's a better choice, babe." She paused, and added "I think we should go for the real food, too, first. Snacks can be had later if we are still hungry." She was about to move towards the food when an arm was suddenly on her shoulder, coming from behind. She jumped, eyes going huge, and eeked, entirely tense for a minute... Then recognized October, even if she did not know him well. "Oh, hey October. How are you tonight?" She gave him a friendly enough grin, trying to hide that she had actually been truly scared by the surprise. "What are you? Catwoman, but as a man?" She said, sounding interested. She clearly did not recognize who he was dressed as, but she added "Looks nice on you." She glanced back at Rhys, and gave him a smile of support, encouraging him to chill. She was pretty damn sure October was just friendly and physical without any particular intent, given he was the guy who'd posted on twitter about cuddle times in his room... In a way that came across as PURELY cuddle.

"Close enough." Rep said to Melvin with a grunt. There was no way in hell he was going to go into detail about who he was actually dressed as or the context. He'd felt like doing whatever he wanted for a change.
There were a lot of people around he didn't personally know and it was a bit distressing to think. He focused on keeping the drinks stocked up carefully, saying nothing to anyone about any of their contents.

The drink was certainly a proper one, and Rodney coughed a little at the vodka. There was overall an herby, green taste sweetened up by blackberry. He was worried, at first, that his lips might be stained, until the feeling of the drink settled in his gut and he felt a lot of him indescribably relax.
As if a thousand weights had suddenly lifted off of his shoulders.
With it came a well-trimmed and orange beard, which he gave an interested stroke but found he wasn't very bothered about that, either.
"Mr. Michaels," Rodney said definitively, taking a hold of Lawrence's side to usher him close, "What a divine choice of drink. But I admit, I feel on a night like this, when certain powers are at their peak, there must be more engaging ways to revel."

Lawrence was glaring at Mikael with pretty evident annoyance but was jolted out of his distraction by Rodney moving him close. He gave him an almost comical wide-eyed look before his eyes flitted to his rather fabulous ginger beard.
"Rodney are you feeling all right?" he asked and took a drink of the glass he was holding more out of a nervous tic than anything else. He felt like he needed a bit of alcohol to steady himself.
Turning orange seemed to be the main side effect of this one and he made a face at it.
"No good." he said. "Bad."

"Good, bad," Rodney purred, "what's the difference, really? And being bad," he said, bending Lawrence back to lean in and suck at his neck, "can be so, so good."
Rodney was normally painfully shy, but at the moment wasn't feeling shy at all.
He felt like love, he felt like living, he felt like feeling something else die in his hands.

Lawrence froze up again, his eyes going wide before they fluttered closed, absolutely sure in a very immediate way that there was something wrong with Rodney. Though it was probably fine, after all his friends were all good people because they were his friends.
"That is what people are telling me." he said without struggling free of his grip.
"I'm inclined to agree."
He probably should wave someone down to check on Rodney just in case. This wasn't normal. "Your beard is great. Really nice. Believe me."

"Oh, I believe you," Rodney said, giving Lawrence a sharp smile and raking his eyes over him. "The question is, how thoroughly do you believe in me?"
The orange cast wasn't flattering.
"Here," Rodney soothed, putting the black concoction to Lawrence's lips. "Have a bite."
