Jada // Outfit - Hair
Originally, Jada had meant to attend the masquerade in the Giulia-approved costume of Princess Jasmine. Castor, her toyger cat, would be her Raja, held close at hand all night. Unfortunately, her costume had been commandeered by a friend, much to her amusement; it had left her in a bit of a lurch upstairs, though, and she had needed to improvise. Her closet was half-strewn around itself, dresses of all colors thrown about like a tornado had hit. She'd narrowed it down to a few different dresses- a bridal-style gown or two that would probably cause heart attacks and likely would be better for a formal ball than a 7-year-old's attempt at a masquerade; her old debutante dress, which she was pleased to note she could still squeeze into, even if she fit the hips a bit more and the bust a bit less; and her selected dress, gauzy and off-the-shoulder, held up by a halter of flowery lace. The appropriate accouterments in order to dress as a fairy were shockingly easy to acquire when you had a small child living with you.
The mask was an old one she'd had on hand from a long-ago masquerade, that didn't quite match the colors of the costume, but worked with the costume beautifully. A fairy she was- and a fairy who was running late. Pinning up her hair and double-checking her makeup, Jada made her way down the stairs and into the ballroom along with the crowd, taking a minute to see who she recognized. That looked like Bell, and she could see Giulia being lovingly assaulted by another Princess, probably Lucia. Yvaine's costume was easy to pick out nearby, so that was probably Marlo and Elzo nearby. She couldn't yet see the costume thief, though she supposed they could have gone through the gallery first.
Someone else caught her eye, however, and the smile froze on her face. Sidling up on the man and the child in tow, Jada crouched, adjusting layers of chiffon as she waved to the little girl. "Hello~" she greeted the dark-haired little princess, heart melting at how absolutely adorable she looked. "And hello to you as well, Giovanni." it took her another moment before she looked up his body, sidelong, a brow arching as she held out her arms invitingly for her daughter to come closer. "What a surprise to see you here." and not dressed as Satan. "Taking advantage of Hope's open invitation?"
Dear lord, if Giulia's party got sidetracked by family drama... none of them would survive Cinderella's wrath. They'd all be wishing they were pumpkins.

Giulia - Cinderella - Mask
There were more people coming in to her party, and Giulia bit her lip, trying to see who she had new to greet. It looked like some people she had seen from school- was that Alise? Giulia had seen her briefly the day that Etoile had come to her school! She hadn't yet had the chance to actually meet her yet- something that she would need to do tonight, if she could!
"Princess Belle!" she turned, swinging in her thick skirts, and reaching out to embrace her older friend. "You look so pretty! I love your hair!" she practically danced in her clear jelly slipper-shoes. "I am so glad you could make it." She gestured to the people nearby, cheerfully. "Lucia, meet my daddy, Elzo. That's my Uncle Marlo, and this is my friend Yvaine." she gestured to each of them, then slung her arm through Belle's. "Everyone, this is my bestest friend, Lucia."
She gripped the other girl's hand, excited. "Did you want to do the haunted gallery or hayride with me tonight? We can get a special group together with all the little kids!"

Elex Yorke as Carnevale DevilOf his short time in Destiny City, Elex never crossed the threshold of Jada's sprawling estate. Rather, he only witnessed the castle-esque mansion in photographs — largely aerial, usually done for architectural magazines that oft adorned his father's study. Occasionally some of the beauty shots coveted by his mother took place inside one of the grandiose rooms, but seldom with any context within the estate as a whole. Now, with the place opened up for company of all kinds, he finally took advantage of that opportunity.
And her mansion felt utterly, unconscionably, indescribably immense. With no expense spared, the Chamberlyns filled out much of the halls with opulence and decorum, bid the staff to take their roles in the masquerade, and indulged in Giulia's childish spirit via corny games and songs. He wondered, briefly, if any ill might descend on the place. If youma or spiders or other overgrown hostilities might tread upon their fun for a second rendition of the botanical gardens. The anonymity of a masquerade promised its own imminent dangers — such lack of personal responsibility inspired a certain boldness in guests. He imagined that the end of the night would hold its own unusual surprises.
Elex entered, glamour-fresh and pale-cheeked, with his devil's horns coiling out grandiosely from a golden mask. Its scorn froze on his face in its thousand wrinkles, and looking out to the crowd behind were sharp dark eyes. He found no familiar scents on the air; either Rowan wasn't present after the garden affair or he simply wasn't in the area.
Many gathered toward faces familiar or unfamiliar — new friendships bloomed, or old ones recognized and rekindled under incognito guises. Elex cut through the ballroom's burgeoning body count with relative ease, owing to his size; he sidestepped a swarthy woman with a boisterous ballgown train, and passed behind a gentleman in a remarkably Edwardian suit. Most opted for a modern approach, but a girl standing lone among a hundred lurid costumes wore a lunar moth's visage. The pale greens caught brilliant underneath the fractal lighting, and he approached out of admiration for that alone.
She needn't be someone he know. "Beautiful mask," he offered on approach. Hands knit behind his back in too-tight familiarity. "Are you waiting for someone?"

Amity in her dress - Mask
Since when had she become so distant from people. Sure no one could tell by her amazing playing or her way around a fundraiser. Though when was it about just meeting people. Having a good time. It was sad, but she truly couldn't remember. Tonight though that was also she was going to be concerned about - Having a good time. So much so her parents didn't even know she was here.
Amity drove up to the place in a limo and took one deep breath as she placed on her mask. Her drive came around and opened the door for her. She gently grabbed his hand and With that she stepped out of the car left than right foot. Exiting almost like a princess. Though she honestly didn't mean to it must have just been all the benefit dances she had been too.
As soon as she was all the way out. She headed towards the door. As soon as she entered the doorway. She hoped everything would go okay - and with that she entered the party. This was her first chance at a normal life. Hopefully she could do this. With a smile she walked around the party gracefully.

Michiko / Costume / MaskMichiko smiled at the host in their Cinderella gown and mask. She blushed behind her mask and laughed a little at the suggestion to go look for her cousins in the garden. "Thank you, I will do that." She said softly before Giulia scampered off. Michiko turned to the new voice that was complimenting her mask and she blushed again she didn't think her mask should gain her this much attention. She shook her head. "Not exactly, but I was looking to see if I saw anyone I had met recently, your mask is very pretty." Michiko said in a soft shy tone. She was still a very shy soft-spoken person. "Are you waiting for anyone?" She asked the question in return. Michi still had a lot to learn and didn't know everything. Though the words of the knight still haunted her looking at the mask the figure wore. Had youma once been human? And if so was dusting them fair? Why couldn't they be saved?

Jack Burnett as a Fox The sight of the decorated manor on full display stopped Jack in his tracks. He had never witnessed such extravagance outside of movies and shows, so the reality of it was somewhat intimidating. It reminded him why he had come - to better grasp the lifestyle that people like Trey, Rowan, and Elex were familiar with.
Though he really didn't care much for wealth and even less for status, the incident at the Bootanical Gardens event had irked him more than he'd initially cared to admit. He had been accustomed enough to playing off his irritation, especially as someone who made it a habit to frequently annoy others himself, but the scorn he had sensed in the other teenagers' treatment of him continued to be a problem even after they'd parted ways that evening. It eventually perturbed him enough that he had decided to attend the Halloween masquerade ball charity event he'd seen advertised online.
Normally, he would have had no interest in the affair. The only other time he had attempted to go to such a thing had been when he'd been trying to discover the whereabouts of the then-missing Elex Yorke. At that time, even though he'd gone with the most formal, fancy outfit he could find in his wardrobe, he'd still been told his clothing hadn't been good enough to pass him off as one of the upper crust.
"Your suit's all wrong. They won't want to be caught socializing with you, the filth that crept in from the streets."
The memory of those words still burned him with both anger and shame. He couldn't deny them, but he had been perfectly content with his place as 'filth' in the eyes of so-called high society until he'd understood just who had made those comments. That was what infuriated him the most; that suddenly the insult had bite just because of his opinion of the person who had spoken it. If only he didn't hold him in such high regard. He wouldn't even have had to scrimp and save up all the money he'd earned doing chores just to spend it on a stupid, elaborate 18th-century ensemble of rich reds, gleaming golds, autumn auburns, and deep browns complete with accessories such as a tophat and gloves.
It wasn't practical at all and he still couldn't comprehend what had possessed him to make the purchase. He was only going to wear it for one night. Because he already owned a smiling fox mask he'd created for last year's fall festival booth, he hadn't needed to spend on that and he could have simply put together something from Goodwill or a costume store. For some reason, however, this was an evening for which he wanted to go all out. Perhaps he could pretend, at least for a brief while, what it was like to live in that world. Maybe, in some small way, he could learn to understand Elex a little better.
Taking a deep breath, Jack steeled himself, straightened his posture, and entered the manor. He looked around, admiring all the trappings and trimmings with no expense spared, but was careful not to betray his awe and wonder. If he were going to play the role of one of these high-class snobs, he had to think and act like one. There was no telling how many other people at the ball were actually well-to-do and which had aristocratic backgrounds, but that made it easier to blend in. At least it eased his nerves a bit to think that there were other plebeians like himself only posing as exorbitantly prosperous mixed in among the gentry. That was probably at least part of the reason they were all supposed to be wearing masks, he presumed. Jack regarded the surrounding people and vicinity with a deliberately aloof air, wondering offhand if he would have been able to recognize someone despite the fantastical guises.Quote: ((Jack is open for interaction))

Marlo had his eyes looking at his brother and cousin with a certain lightness to them. It was nice for once, to see Elzo embracing a part of himself, that childish impish part that he hardly ever was since he'd been in Italy for all those years. Elzo was not a hard man, but he aloof and often masking his real joys and mirth. His smile and joy at Giulia was genuine, and Marlo felt a bit happier knowing that his brother was lowering his shields enough to let himself love the children- a thing they deserved unconditionally. Yvaine's words were not missed and he turned, a small smile still on his face. "Aiden's idea. I could not be a wolf, and were I the wolf, well-" He shrugged, "it seemed a bit too overt for the character." And just like that, the little lady who had desired and semi-orchastrated the event came to them, Marlo wasted no time to bow to his cousin, knowing she would love the 'in character acting'. "Dearest princess. You wound me, I am only here in hopes of seeing yourself and enjoying the party. Any ultra rear motivations I have are-" He could have laughed at the fact Jada would have scolded him, "-very much not going to interfere with your party or it's guests." Elzo was just grinning, rejoining his brother and his lover, planting a very devious kiss to Yvaine's neck. "Oh now, I don't know principessa, this beautiful faun has come into my sights and I fear I must simply have her. What kind of prince or hunter would I be if I let such a legendary being escape me?" Elzo planted another overt kiss to Yvaine's cheek, just to see Marlo roll his eyes at the couple. "Giulia-" Marlo was about to say something when another child appeared and he laughed at the way she was such an attention getting. "Seems little princesses come in pairs. Tell me, have either of you seen any queens around? I would love to stay and chat but, as you know, we royals must always say hello to the reigning nobles. " Elzo snorted looking down at Giulia's friend. "Ciao bella. It is nice too meet one of Giulia's friends." He offered her a hand to shake. "I didn't know you knew other princesses Giulia. I'm hurt! Look Yvaine- She's not even 16 yet and she's keeping secrets from her father already!"

Genevieve: Costume (minus head piece/mask) MaskWhen the invitation to a masquerade ball had arrived she'd been excited, and pleased, but she was not surprised. After their meeting Genevieve was almost expecting some sort of invitation from Jada, they had discussed party ideas after all, so upon reading the invitation she had decided to go all out and go for something that would fit a masquerade. Maybe it was a bit over the top, maybe not, but she liked to think that she could play it off as some sort of princess dress with a mask.
The dress had been found online, via certain friends and connections she had, and once paid for it had been sent to her rather quickly.
The dress, and the mask, were perfect for what she wanted and the colors worked as well. Her dark hair was done in loose curls for the night, some of her hair pulled up loosely and decorated with golden ornaments to match her costume. The mask was held in place over her face as she finally did arrive...a bit late of course, she really had a time of getting here given that she couldn't very well drive herself in heels. She had, over the years, learned that driving in heels was no good for her, it often ended in broken heels that had to be fixed.
Now though she was here and hoping to find Jada, as she didn't know anyone else it seemed. Infinities Finally she's here, bit late but all good - right?

Giovanni had the gall to smirk as he saw her make her appearance. Fortune favored him clearly, given his costume and her own. "My my, you look absolutely delightful my queen." He grabbed her hand without allowing her any objecting pulling her a half step closer as he brought it to his lips, a kiss on the back of her knuckles. "What kind of father would I be if I let my darling girl come unattended? Besides, networking is ever important." He looked past her for a moment, grin widening when he noticed his son and nephew occupied. "I must say, we look the perfect family with how well we all match. But-" He crouched low, asking if Hope would like to meet his firned Jada- the girl just giggled, darting behing his legs and into his cloak. "It seems she's a bit shy. Stay with me for a while- she'll warm up quickly if you offer her caramels or dancing." He looked strangely affectionate down towards the toddler. "She is rather easy to please if you indulge her with anything that involves spinning her around."

Pythia - costume
In the line of work that she hoped to go in to, Pythia had a singular task for her college career: networking. Political Science- or, to be more specific, Public Relations, which was probably where she would go- was as much who you knew as what- if not actually more so. So it had been her pleasure to notice that there was going to be a masquerade at the near-palatial home that lurked not far outside of town. She'd done some googling, of course, one had to know who their host was going to be. Pythia had heard through the grapevine that it had once belonged to some wealthy old codger or other, and passed down through the family. Scandals and drama and all that, so she was actually rather surprised how normal it all looked on the paper trail that she had dug up. Kind of disappointing, frankly, but who knew what it would look like once she was actually there?
The redhead had selected her outfit carefully, and it hadn't been easy. She was on a budget, and frankly this dress would probably need to last her for years, unless she got a job quickly. The mask had been much easier, for there were all sorts of websites that could ship mardi gras masks to serve as masquerade masks. She had decided to go as a phoenix, and frankly her outfit was amazing. In her not-so-humble opinion. It was certainly eye-catching and it fit her well, and with her hair color, she thought that she looked like a walking pillar of flame. Ending the look with a pair of cheaply made gold heels that she got on sale for like $20, and she was ready to attend this little masquerade party. There was even some money stuffed in her little clutch so that she could put something in to the charity raffle.
The driveway took forever to get up, lined with cars as it was. She pulled off where directed, and wobbled her way up the odd little drive and past the mirrored central fountain in the driveway, towards the castle. Damn the 1 percent, seriously, was that actual marble? Raffle tickets were purchased with her little bit of tucked-away cash, and she made her way past some kind of haunted gallery setup and into the main ballroom, peering around. Oh, man; food everywhere, and she had not even brought her big purse to try and dump some leftovers into it. They probably had plenty here, right? There were even people carrying trays to grab plates and punch glasses.
She sighed, pursing her lips and considering the selection of food. Considering the people in their little groups, the wallflowers forming and simply indulging in a little bit of luxury and an evening out that would hopefully be a little more peaceful than the spider-infested gardens had been. And the anonymity of all of it- well, anonymity for some if not all, thanks to the varying levels of mask... she gave a sigh, and spoke to no one in particular. “How could someone live like this? Wouldn't they get lost in their own house, or legitimately weigh something akin to two or three tons?” with all this food just laying around...

Giovanni tugged her closer, imperious and every inch the evil king, and Jada gave him a tight smile, her attention more on the small child he had brought with him. "I do hope you're planning to be on your best behavior. This is Giulia's first time playing hostess, after all." the little girl rejected her grasp, choosing to hide behind Giovanni, and the flicker of pain was only brief.
"Perhaps I will have the opportunity, for a time, but I do have some company to greet. As you said- networking is important." a brow lifted, a smile playing lightly around her lips. "But perhaps you'll stay a bit after, once the main party dies down. The little princess will have much more room for spinning." she sent the two-year old a smile. "We'll spoil her until she has to be rolled out like a round little barrel." dark hair and those bright blue eyes and those pudgy little cheeks- Christ. Children were adorable. Though she supposed it helped when you were predisposed to like them.
There was someone else, however, who caught her attention, and Jada brushed her hands over the skirt of her dress, rising. A faintly familiar face, hidden by a mask. Was that Genevieve? Did that mean Christa had come? If so, Jada would have to make sure that the staff had them both as acceptable to pass to the family area- she could hardly deny Christa a library to hide in, once the other woman had been socialized to Genevieve's satisfaction.
"I will not come back until I have treats to woo the little Princess." Jada lilted her voice to the child, but refrained from bending over to try and say goodbye. "Please, enjoy the party." even if she would probably spend half of it trying to get the little girl to dance with her. Spinning. So precious.
Sleet Tempest Snape Yes! Certainly all good for Genevieve to see/find her!

"Of course Cinderella!" She wouldn't have missed her friends part for the world and besides it was an excuse to dress like a princess and she wasn't going to miss that.
"Ciao, papà di Giulia." She responded to the man in Italian since that was how he had addressed her, she knew the language fairly well from her father. She even knew a few naughty words from when her papa was watching football. She shook the mans hand.
"Hi mr. Marlo and hi miss Yvaine!" She did her best princess curtsy to the adults before turning back to her younger friend.
"Definitely! Common lets go find the rest of the kids." She said pulling Giulia along with her as she ran off. She knew she could handle any haunted gallery afterall she had seen real monsters and she beat them up so no monsters in there would scare her.

Elex looked on impassively. Do devils delight you?
His stance broke when he tore his gaze from the luna moth and followed the bend of decorum about the room. "No." Others about them danced or talked or slunk around in costumes of variable grandiosity. Of considerable overstatement. Opulence was the new average. "I'm not waiting for someone. I'm waiting for something." A slip of the mask. A sordid segue into the supernatural. Strange phenomena happen when people gather like this. It's only a matter of time.
How long until the glass slippers come off?
"It might be a while yet." He offered his hand, whole and unblemished by black. "Do you want to dance?"

Michiko blinked she was a little confused at the other person's strange words, but they seemed harmless enough. Though maybe a little spooky, but maybe that was just Michiko's nerves after the time she had spent fighting monsters lately and meeting beings she never knew were part of Destiny city. Michiko wondered what he was waiting for. She nodded shyly and took his hand and said "Ok." In her soft tone. Michiko wasn't a social butterfly she had never had many chances to dance with other people so she was nervous about dancing with the guy in the golden mask. She really hoped she didn't step on his feet she didn't want to make a fool of herself with someone she barely knew. Stepping on Toby's foot wouldn't have freaked Michiko out, but stepping on this guy's foot. Michi would be mortified for the rest of her life. Michiko wasn't sure how she had grown so comfortable with Toby so quickly but she felt like he was her best friend in the city and glanced around looking to see if he had come to the party. Then back to the guy before her why not. She just hoped it didn't go horribly wrong.
