Zeke, looking sidelong at Ever as they reached the enclosure, gave a very small smirk. "Noted." Aquariums were more his speed, but he certainly didn't mind zoos, and watching the other Life seeing so many different animals for the first time was enough to make Zeke want to take him. There was a decent amount of cover inside the enclosure itself. Caves leading into observation points, and with the zoo having been abandoned, it was quiet and dry inside. After a cursory peek, he'd wave the other two men inside. "Who needs a tent?" They'd been sheltered, and relatively warm. Especially if they kept close. "Do we want to make a fire?" It'd be warmer, but since they didn't know what else was there, perhaps too large of a risk. Zeke was fairly confident he'd worn warm enough clothing, and brought along a good thermal sleeping bag, so either way he was set.

"One tried to eat me when I went to the Artic base. Scared me to death. Don't really know how strong a full hunter is till you have to fight a bear. Makes a nice rug though." He said to Ever, moving into the enclosure and looking about.
"Might be a signal to whatever is here if they smell smoke. Could just keep close. There is 3 of us after all."
He slung his backpack around and set it down near a dry, cleared spot. It smelled cold and vacant here.
He looked up, setring Babel down on his sleeping bag. "Who wants to be in the middle?"

Ever started to answer that -- maybe started to volunteer -- but then he hesitated and swallowed the suggestion, looking between the pair of them instead. His own sleeping bag wasn't quite so nice, was more standard issue. He'd never taken the time to invest in something properly fancy. It would keep him warm but -- it had seen better days. "Are we going to put up a watch?" was what he offered instead, sinking down to sit and shrugging out of his bag. "Maybe we should? Seems a bit weird here...."

Unrolling his on beside Ever's, Zeke looked up at the suggestion. "That's probably not a bad idea. We can do it in shifts." Ever had already snuggled down into his sleeping bag, which might have been a clever way to rule himself out of the first watch. Zeke chuckled. "I can go first, get it over with." He finished smoothing out his sleeping bag and then stood up. There was a beat, and then he glanced down at Ever's bag, frowning thoughtfully. "If you get cold..." It was an open ended invitation to swap to his own bag, one he probably needn't have made.

"I can watch the second shift then. I'm used to being up." He volunteered, setting his bag beside Ever's on the other side and rolling it out. He had invested in a nice once when he had gone on the Arctic base mission and it insulated well. He did however glance at Ever who was curled into his own. It was winter and they were in a polar bear enclosure, and Ever was, well, skinny. With his knowledge of Lawr, he knew skinny didn't retain heat well.
"If you two get cold we can just open up the sleeping bags into blankets instead if that works for everyone." He added, following with Zeke's concern.

Ever blinked at the pair of them, then looked down to his own sleeping bag -- and, finally, snorted just a little, sinking deeper into it. Of the three of them, he seemed the least concerned about his own warmth and comfort. But maybe that also wasn't all that surprising. "You're worryworts. I'll be fine. Zeke can take first, you can take second, and I'll get up early for the before-dawn shift. How's that sound?" He pulled the edge of the bag up slowly.

Rolling his eyes, Zeke gave a dismissive wave to the man in the sleeping bag as he began to walk back towards the entrance of the enclosure. "Yeah, that's fine. I'll try not to wake you up when we switch." Try, because there was almost no chance that Zeke wasn't going to wind up molded against Ever's back at some point in the night, even zipped into separate sleeping bags. He glanced back at Melvin while he walked. "You I'll come get in a few hours." And then he gave a lazy wave and wandered off. He wanted to find a place that'd let him keep an eye on the two other hunters, but stick close to the singular entrance. He found it in the form of a little fake is ledge that he managed to pull himself up on with minimal effort. For a long time, a couple of hours maybe, it was quiet. Cold, but quiet. Staying awake was a challenge, one he tackled by trying to beat his own high score in Tetris on his phone, but since his attention was mostly on his surroundings, he didn't manage it. It beeped at him as the pieces began to pile up to the top of the screen, but Zeke ignored it, head up and eyes peeled. He could have sworn he'd heard...something. Maybe? Something roared, too close for comfort, and Zeke just about fell off the ledge when he whipped around to stare up at the black shape looming in the branches of tree that was over hanging the enclosure. When it jumped down it was distinctly cat like, prowling towards him, but there was something off about it. He summoned Lagertha in a flash of bright blue runes, backing up a step. "Wakey wakey!" He shouted back to the other two, though he doubted very much they'd slept through it snarling at him from above.

Letting Ever be, he glanced at Zeke in defeat and got comfortable in his own sleeping bag. "Sounds good to me." He muttered, taking off his glasses to set them above him on the ground with his phone before curling in for the night. Eventually Melvin would naturally move closer to Ever for comfort and warm, used to sleeping with October and his mind naturally assuming the same.
When the roar came out, he roused from his sleep quickly but still groggy and confused. It wasn't till Zeke called out to get up that he grabbed his glasses and reached for his bag, nearly ripping off the zipper as he pulled out a black bag and in that a long, metal rod with markings upon it.
Struggling out of his sleeping bag, he got to his feet, rubbing his eyes in haste for them to focus. "How is that still here?" He asked.

The movement was what roused Ever -- all it took to bring him awake, reaching for his weapon but not yet attacking. He looked to Melvin, and then to Zeke, and as he registered the source of the sound and the mess he dragged himself out of the mess of his sleeping bag. Behind him, something tore, but he was standing at least. Staring up at the beast and tense, trying to figure out what they were meant to do. "Should we...I mean, should we try to shuffle it into a pen somewhere...?" Even as he asked, though, the panther went for him: lunging out to snap at his arm. Ever brought up his weapon to protect himself, weakly and poorly. HP: 57/60 Charge: 0/3 DMG: 0 u.u Boss HP: 105

Both of the other members of his team would receive an incredulous look from Zeke at their questions. "It's a ******** monster," he answered Melvin first, before turning to Ever just in time to see the not!panther take a swipe at him, and he winced. "No, just kill it." They weren't here to study it, they were here to handle it. To Zeke, that meant dead. Especially as the thing turned it's attention back to him with a furious snarl. He moved in to strike, swinging Lagertha around by the chain to bring the big ax down over the beast's head. Which only really seemed to piss it off more. It gave another growling hiss, then swiped at him. HP: 57 DMG: 5 CHG: 1/3 BOSS HP: 100

"Fine. Fine!" He said, seeing Zeke's impatience and deciding that it really did need killed if it wasn't just some wild animal that somehow managed to survive in the wasteland of a zoo. Considering the strange events prior, it was pretty good to assume that much and taking out a dangerous animal was still a plus.
Rod in hand, he pressed on the side and a long, metal blade shot out one end, making Melvin jump. He never got used to that. Swords were just dangerous looking. He missed Saliva.
Awww but seriously focus. That thing looks nasty.
Moving in, he gave a long slash against it, the creature quick to snarl and swipe one of it's massive paws at him, claws drawn. It stung, but not as much as he thought it should. HP: 57 Dmg: 11 Boss HP: 89

Ever started to object -- to say that this wasn't a monster, exactly. It was a panther, a big cat, and maybe it was a big one but -- It lunged and snapped at him, and instead of speaking, he swung back. Harder than he intended. This time, he hit with some force, and immediately grimaced in reaction. HP: 54/60 Charge: 1/3 DMG: 8 Boss HP: 81

It was just a Fear tainted beast that had no business being here if it was going to go after humans. Better them, he supposed, than some random kid's breaking into the abandoned zoo. He watched as Melvin and Ever both went for it, momentarily drawing the not!panther's attention away, and moved in to try to take advantage of the opening that left. Either it heard him, or I was just pissed enough to want to keep all the of them in it's sights, because it sounds around just as Zeke was bringing his axe down at it's side. The blade only grazed it as a result, and a hard kick to the stomach sent the hunter reeling back a few unbalanced paces. HP: 54 DMG: 2 CHG: 2/3 Boss HP: 79
