Her mate. The words echoed in his ears and he flushed visibly under his silver fur. “That sounds great.” He smiles a groomed goofy grin at the lady whom he had loved, he was pretty certain, from the say he first laid eyes on her.
“Come on, I’ll catch you a big one.” He nuzzles her cheek and gets to his paws leading her back the way they came, back to the place they first met. Back to where they had started their journey. It was only fitting that they started this new leg where it all started now that they were finally, officially, together.
