Having her ear flicked and being told to sit still made her huff a little but Subira complied. It wasn't like arguing would do her any good really. She would just lose out on having her hair done up. When she heard that if Eurig grew his hair he would look like their grandfather she blinked a bit in confusion. Mostly because she could hardly recall what the old man looked like. Not that it was all that important to her anyways. She just knew he was her grandfather. "Well, would that be a bad thing? Maybe then the girls would leave him alone." Subira made a face that said she would be fine with that. With her hair being done she moved over to look at what had been done and grinned from ear to ear. It wasn't exactly like her moms but it was close enough that she was thrilled with it! "I love it. Can I wear my hair like this all the time?"

Ujana gave into a bark of laughter. Maybe they would, but she also doubted that her tender, sweet Eurig would like to be compared so openly with her father. The man cared less about what society thought of him than she, and he was also so much sharper with his words. Eurig, on the other hand, tried his hardest to say nice things, which was both a blessing and a curse. Maybe she should have him spend a little more time around Uquin? Her son may have been strong physically, but he was a little on the soft side, and that...was a worrisome.
"You're going to have to let him out of your sight one day, Subira. He's going to find someone he wants to be close with, and while I give you full permission to interrogate the hell out of them, I don't want you running them off." Ujana moved the chair out of the way, and stepped closer to her step-daughter in turn. With every day she could see more of Ariya coming out in the girl. However, there was just enough of a difference to make her think that Aisha had added a little something extra just to make Subira really shine.
"Sure, why not? I can show you how to fix it yourself later, or maybe if you're nice enough, Eurig can do it for you. He's gotten pretty good with hair lately." IT would have been a hard skill to avoid, seeing as he lived in a house with three women.

"What do you mean? He's out of my sight for days when he goes to Tale!" And that worried her. Jauhar girls fawned over him she could just imagine what other kinds of girls did. It was enough for her to roll her eyes. Anyways, he was her baby brother! No way she was going to let just anyone take him away. The Odd man got a free pass since he was somehow Eurig's dad, but she still didn't like it. After a snort and another roll of her eyes she focused on her hair. With Ujana saying she would teach her how to fix her hair this way she grinned. "Good! Then I can mess with Euri's hair too." Subira fully planned on messing with it too. Even if she had to make it a monstrosity to keep others away. The idea of making his hair stand straight up did occur to her.

"More like months." Every time her baby boy was out of her sight Ujana regretted the deal she'd struck up with Eurig's father. Long before he'd been born it was decided that he would spend half the year in Tale, and half in Jauhar. At the time it had been easy enough to say; she hadn't been staring into the eyes of her son, and the weight of it hadn't yet settled onto her.
Whenever he was gone she became clingier towards Subira and Ariya, and while she tried to give them some space, it was hard.
"Just remember why we did your hair up in the first place! We're tricking mama, right? So, I say that calls for a new outfit. Something really nice, so we can really catch her off guard." She would spent an entire month's worth of earnings if she had to. In so many ways Ujana could be horribly mischievous, and getting a reaction out of her lover was one of her favorite things. To her it kept Ariya on her toes; though she was sure the alkidike felt otherwise.

She scowled when her mother corrected her on the time that her brother was gone. "Don't remind me. I might sneak off to Tale." And that was a real possibility. Who knows what sort of weird things the guy was teaching Eurig. Or letting him do. Or telling him to do. Was her baby brother getting his training in? Likely not. And that made her growl a little. If that man caused Eurig to back track on his goals then she would hang him from a tree as Menzuri bait. Still, she pushed those thoughts aside as she was told to remember the purpose of her hair being done up. Subira grinned and nodded as she laughed. "Alright! You need to go shopping then." Ujana was her mother and she loved her dearly so she had to tell the truth. "You're clothes are horrible. You need something new." Subira nodded at that.

"You could always stay with your grandpa, you know, or your aunt. They're close enough to Eurig that you could easily see him as much as you wanted without being in Odhran's house." Not that the man would ever dismiss her; she'd made it clear from day one that Subira was their child's sister and would be treated as such. She just suspected it might be a little awkward for her, being the odd one out, but Ujana would keep the option open, should she ever choose to take it.
Though she always did have to wonder; should she call Uquin and Padma Subira's relatives? She did it so easily that there was barely any thought, but she'd never really asked her family what they thought about it. Or Ariya, for that matter.
"What?! I happen to like my clothes!" Sure it was a little risque, and rarely did she branch away from the style she'd chosen, but Ujana didn't see any harm in that. She reached out to flick Subira on the arm and shooed the younger alkidike out of the room. "Come on, shoo shoo, if we don't get a move on we won't be ready when she comes back."
