"Yep, yep." Nadiya grinned as she thought of all the stoires she could spin, "Giant swimming beasts that can eat a ship whole! Some I hear have seen a really strange one that first looks like a lantern on the water, but when you get close it's the size of at least five men with rows of teeth. The lantern is only an orb attached to an antenna hanging from its face." She shook her head and crossed her arms, "It's super creepy sounding, right?"
"I dunno actually." Nadiya tilted her head back and forth thoughtfully, "We never have tried...the big ocean is well....big." She smiled sheepishly, "I'm sure it'd be dangerous though so ya have a giant task in front of ya."

Yokka was hanging onto every word. How would she defend against something that could eat a ship whole? She would have to find some really tough material... but then how well would that float? Maybe adding spikes? Oh, how much drag would that be? “That lantern sounds spooky,” she murmured, pursing her lips. “At least it’ll be a warning to us.” Now she was grinning confidently. “I’ll be the first to try! ..Well, I’ll be the first to successfully do it!” There were older folks working on the docks with more experience and skill, and she wasn’t quite old enough to work alongside them as an equal. When she was.. she would be ready! “So, what else? What’re they made of? Could you draw a picture? Do they use-?” Leaning away, she took a deep breath. “Sorry.. I guess it’s your turn to ask something.”

"Super spooky, but they do have certain paths to take that have better results." Nadiya laughed, "So as long as your captain isn't so drunk and stays on the correct path then you're good. "
"Then the best of luck to ya." Nadiya grinned towards Yokka, "So have any big plans on how to accomplish that? Does your family like boats too or are they overlooked for all the flying things?" At the question the woman glanced around before finding a stick, "Here...I'm not the best drawer, but I'll try." She squinted her gaze in concentration as she tried to doodle the outline of one of their ships.

Brow rising, Yokka couldn’t help a little snort. “No captain of my ship is gonna be drunk at the helm” She would not allow such a thing! Indeed!
The prentice felt herself deflate a tiny bit. “I don’t know yet. Waiting to get a job at the shipyard for more materials and stuff. My family is more focused on farming and think the airships and wagons are good enough for what we need.” Surprised to see the woman take up the stick, Yokka leaned forward again to watch with interest.

Chuckling Nadiya snapped her fingers playfully at Yokka, "Atta girl that's the spirit~" She grinned happily, "Gotta keep those troublemakers in line." Though honestly she would be the troublemaker herself - not that Yokka needed to know that.
"Ah." Nadiya pursed her lips. Odd how a small question could lead to a complicated reaction like that, "Seems like ya just gotta pull it together and convince them otherwise~ Let's see if I can help." She glared at the sands before sheepishly smiling towards Yokka, "Bear with me...this may take a while ta explain. Hope ya have some time~"
And time it would take as Nadiya began to pour over the ships and other ocean stories from Tendaji in earnest....
