"It's a pretty big deal if Bert ever volunteers anything that isn't usual feelings of resentment. But I'll let you know," Joy smirked as her bladed shovel materialized. There were a lot of places Joy would rather never go back to for varying reasons, but it was wishful thinking to never return there. But this was their lot in life now as hunters.
She maintained her silence as they went through, alert for any signs of hostility.

He winced at her voice and pointed at one of the tunnels. "Down here," the trainee said as he led the way down. The darkness was eerily familiar, and not in the best way. Zephira's screaming was also familiar, and somehow maybe a little echo-y. Maybe it was the walls...
"From here we gotta split up. Can't ********' remember exactly which room or tunnel it was, so gotta improvise from here."Huni Pi I'll roll in my next post. lol

Seren did NOT like the words 'split up' at all, but if that was how it had to be, she wasn't going to argue. Rhys was the one who knew what the ******** was up with this place, she didn't. "WHAT are we doing here, Seren? We need to get the hell out of this place, this is a terrible idea and you are making it WORSE by splitting up!"The sudden shriek of Diwata's upset in her head made Seren wince, hard, as she began to move down a corridor. She paused, looked at Rhys and said "It's affecting Di now. She's freaking out and wanting to leave." She then turned back down the corridor and kept moving. What she found was not useful. Display stands, statues, disturbing gooey black streaks... Wait had that statue moved? She turned her head to stare but it was... completely still. This room was... freaky.

Joy was used to the silent presence that Bert was in her head. He was never chatty and even during battles where he would growl out instructions, they were as short as possible. While he still said nothing, Joy could feel him crying.
It wasn't just sadness he was making her feel, it was despair. For him to be sharing this with her meant the intensity of his emotions was too much for him to bear.
Shet, Bert, what's happening to you?
No response beyond the distinct sensation of uncontrollable tears.

The place felt even creepier now, maybe because he knew what was lurking around and what he could possibly run into. He wandered absently into a room once they split, eyeing the various stands and statues. The black goo looked familiar, and he curled his lip and swore quietly to himself as he walked back out and rejoined the others.
"Nothin' so far. Careful of the traps, by the way. Not sure what the triggers are but that's how I got a hole in my ********' arm."

She was heading to another room when she heard Rhys' comment. ".. Right. Will do." She nodded, and eyed the options, then slowly stepped down a corridor, and into a room. And then saw the dark hallway to the side. She found herself being drawn towards it, her eyes focused on it. She didn't understand WHY she was draw to it, she just knew that... She wanted to run, and couldn't. Holy hell this was terrifying. She didn't know how to pull herself free of it, and Diwata's continued panicking in her mind was not helping.It was only when she heard Rhys calling her name that she found herself breaking free of the goddamn trance, and she turned, almost running back to the main hall. "Ok that was a ******** No." She gasped out.

Her weapon's crying wasn't getting on Joy's nerves, in so much as unnerving her. Because while she was completely fine with this display of emotion, the lack of Bert's desire to say anything even acknowledging that he was weeping put her on edge.
Finding a room with creepy-a** gooey statues didn't help matters. She doubled back to the group, "Nothing there either. And what's this about traps?"

"Traps," he repeated while poking his head from out the tunnel he was about to walk down. "It's how I got this hole in my arm."

Rhys visibly winced at the loudness of Zephira in his head, not for the first time since they were bonded, but if she could deafen he probably would've already been partially deaf in one ear. Or both.
The trainee disappeared down one of the tunnels for a little while before reappearing where the girls were and waving for them to come over. "Found it, the little ********. C'mon," he said with a grin that spoke volumes about how much he really wanted to crush the damn thing. He felt pretty solid about their team-up here, too, so he waited for just a second before disappearing down the tunnel again.BOSS ENCOUNTER The CloudHP: 100
AD: 8One of you finally finds the right tunnel, and at the end of that tunnel you all realize why it was getting darker and darker the further you went down. Near the end there is a row of entrances, and guarding those entrances is a large, black cloud of a creature. It looks like its insides are constantly moving and changing, as though it were made up of dozens of smaller clouds that were involuntarily gathered up into this one giant cloud, all trying to escape. It doesn't seem to notice any of you and just continues to float along.

Seren slid in after Rhys, her eyes narrowed, not pleased at all to see that ugly cloud-thing. She lifted Diwata, and began a swing. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS IS A TERRIBLE PLAN!" Diwata screeched into Seren's head.The surprise screech made Seren wince... and JUST miss. The cloud-thing sent a smaller cloud at her, causing her to hiss in pain when it connected. "Goddamn son of a b***h." She snarled. HP: 32/40 Damage: --- Charge: 0/3 Boss HP: 100

Joy knew the drill when it came to dealing with the troublemakers. Bert was summoned, and to be honest Joy was pleasantly surprised to find he was dry and not sopping wet with from all that crying. She was about to take a defensive position when the Sun just attacked.
"Seren, wait!" she called out, dashing forward to place herself between the thing and Seren. Anticipating a blow, Joy was surprised to find that she wasn't being attacked. "It only hits back? Rhys, you substituting your Mist as a Sun or Moon?"

The cloud thing was as gross as ever, and he brandished his sword as they made their approach. Before he could say anything, though, Seren went rushing in.
"Hold up!" he called, a surge of irritation and worry rising for a second until he saw Joy jump in. The Mist curled his lip and jumped into the fray, slicing into the cloudy mass to get it to back up. It gurgled angrily and spat up a gooey mass of something straight at him that Rhys didn't dodge quite soon enough, and he felt a twinge of pain radiating up and down his arm where the goo landed.
"Piece of s**t..." Wincing, he took a few steps back. Turning to Joy, he said, "Sun, since you're here." And then he looked to Seren, concern written all over his face. "You good?"

Seren looked at the others, confused. "I thought we were here to fight this? We can't kill it if we don't..." She wasn't used to stopping and strategizing. She'd never been on a mission before. It probably would have been good if some one had explained this stuff to her, but there she was. She got annoyed, though, when the monster hit Rhys again, and was readying her sword, to swing. "WHAT PART OF BAD PLAN DO YOU NOT GET?"Seren nearly dropped Di at the shriek in her head, and snarled "DI YOU'RE GOING TO GET US KILLED!" HP: 27/40 Damage: --- Charge: 0/3 Boss HP: 96/100

Joy quickly made her way to grab at Seren, trying to ground her and calm her down, "Seren, relax, you'll get your turn at it. Right now I need you to help me keep the thing away from Rhys. Can you do that?" Despite the almost crushing weight of Bert's despair, Joy's voice was firm and even as she said all this and continued "Bantayan mong mabuti yang alaga mo," it was said more the benefit of Seren's weapon than the Sun herself.

He stayed back long enough to snort, more amused than anything, with Seren's mentality. He was jumping in to get the thing off of her, so when she went in again so did he, hacking away as best he could. Thankfully Joy stepped in just in time so when it retaliated with more of those black gooey blobs it only barely nicked him.
"Thanks," he managed to say to Joy as he staggered back to safety. His focus was on the Cloud, sword at the ready, but he did glance over at the two and nodded. "Plan sounds good to me. If I gotta tap out, Seren, I'll let you know. We've got bandages, too, right?"

Seren's eyes went wide at Joy's suggestion. She was so STUPID, it never occurred to her that two could defend while one attacked. Oh she was such an idiot! "I... OH, yes... Defend... It never... Yes." She turned red, feeling stupid about this, but she pulled back into a position where she could help Joy defend him. And didn't that light a small fire inside of her? She could do her damndest to protect the man she... Well. Her friends. She could protect her friends. She nodded, her fierce grin back at Rhys's word, and she waited for the onslaught. Diwata growled into Seren's mind. "I'm TRYING she's not listening."Not knowing what this was about, Seren didn't say anything. HP: 27/40 Defense: 1 Charge: 0/3 Boss HP: 90/100
