"That's because dares are so much better than truths," said Nash, with the same sort of sage tone of voice that was generally more associated with October's brand of honesty. "When it's truth, it's just people talking. Not everyone wants to just hear talking, dares bring out both the best and the worst of people."

And were generally a s**t ton of fun. Nash's expression was a little sardonic as he looked back at Melvin. "My spit is great, thanks. But whatever, if you don't like it, then it is what it is." He gave a shrug of his shoulders, causing the too large sweatshirt to shift, Nash reaching to tug it back into place. "And the gossipy neighbors are half the fun, especially with some of the people that came and went from our house."

The toe of his foot tapped idly against the little wall in front of him, rain pattering the tops of the umbrellas. Nash felt relaxed and amused; Melvin wasn't too bad of company, after all. "Well, as long as it wasn't all s**t, but even if it was s**t I guess you learn from it, right?" he said, eyeing Melvin. "Do you have to be easy going? Nothing wrong with being a little..." He waved a hand, "whatever. More straightforward. Just because you aren't kissing a** doesn't mean that it's bad."

"Really? I think people having to actually say something out loud forces them to face whatever lies or breaks whatever polite mask they set up and tears them down to the person they really are. They can't be hypocritical if everyone around them can call them on their bullshit because it came right from their mouth in the first place." He thought out loud. "But dares are generally more fun because you get to push what a person chooses to do I suppose." And he had done very dare presented to him, and was surprised by the dares others had agreed to do upon his request.

"At least it was something to do than watch another rainy day go by."

"Did you like the gossip growing up then?" He wondered, but then debated if that was a good conversation to start when they were just relaxing. He wanted to not be kicked out of the fort. He didn't want to be alone on the roof in the rain.

"Nevermind. You don't have to answer that."

He took another sip, not at all being slow but not chugging big mouthfuls either. "I hope I learned something. Guess I won't know until something like that tries to happen again." At Nash's gesture, he had to smile. "A little whatever? You can call it like it is. Uptight. No need to be sweet on my behalf."

He offered him the bottle.

Nash considered this for a moment, idly threading fingers through one of his necklaces. "Okay, point taken," he conceded. "That's definitely a way to look at things, especially if they're forced into saying it aloud, and admittedly there's something fun about hearing what s**t people have to say truthfully. I just like the thrill of dares, because there's something exciting about not being able to say no to them."

Hence the whole dare night. Nash was grinning, but it lapsed into a more careless expression at Melvin's question. "I didn't mind it," he said, which was only half true. He had minded some things, grating on his nerves like fingernails on a chalkboard. "Coulda done without the slut comments, but some people have nothing better to do than stir up s**t."

He wasn't going to think about the snide remarks from children his own age. Nash reached for the bottle, gently sliding it from Melvin's fingers so that he could take a healthy swallow of his own. "Nothing wrong with being uptight either, it has its appeals. Do you want something to happen again?"

He sighed out and looked out into the distance, the rain hitting distant puddles that reflected the runic lights from the distant buildings. The trees of the jungle dark black shapes that swayed in the night.

"I'd kill for anything to happen."

Nash's eyebrows rose.

"Anything like what, exactly?"

He took the bottle back, pausing but deciding he wouldn't wipe this time and drank.

"I take whatever the other person will let me push towards. I'm greedy." He knew he was. He knew he would push as far as anyone would let him go until they said no enough for him to be conscious to let go.

Nash contemplated Melvin for a moment, a flicker of amusement in his eyes.

"So are you just looking for like, what, exactly? A ******** or a relationship or what?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 17, 2017 2:55 pm

He looked over at him, looking him over a moment at his curiosity. "Probably a ********. You can comment I'm a slut if you want." He took another sip of the whiskey.

Nash snorted.

"If you're a slut, then I'm a slut and so is everyone else on this island."

He glanced over at Melvin, letting his gaze flicker up and down his face. After a moment's contemplation, Nash said casually,

"So. Wanna ********>

Melvin had been in the middle of drinking, and the statement caused him to breath in air quick, which sent burning whiskey into his lungs and caused him to start coughing. Turning away, he held a finger up as he continued to caught, gasping as he tried to get his voice back.

After a moment, he turned back, eyes watering as he managed to croak. "What?"

Nash waited patiently for Melvin to finish choking on the whiskey, reaching out to slap a hand on his back a few times before not so subtly plucking the bottle of alcohol from Melvin's fingers. He wiped the mouth of it, took a swallow, and propped his other foot up on the opposite wall.

Nash shrugged. "You said you wanted something to happen. I like sex, you want sex, so I figured - why not kill to birds with one stone? It doesn't have to be complicated."

He held a finger up still, his coughs dying down before he reached under his glasses to wipe his eyes clear. "Just - that's out of the blue - and - really?" The last part was a bit more high pitched as he expressed his surprise. It was one thing to want to ******** around, but another to decide HE was the one you wanted to ********.

Nash resisted a strong urge to roll his eyes, if only because Melvin was still trying not to drown.

"Not really. You were talking about wanting something to happen so..." He stretched out his hands in a who knows sort of gesture, palms up. "Here we are. And yes, really. I happen to think having sex is good for people who are into it. If you're not into ********, then whatever, I don't care since it doesn't concern me, but sex is just a healthy part of life, not to mention a fun one."

He shrugged again, Nash folding his hands together in his lap. "If you don't want to, that's fine, I'm not offended. But if you want a no strings attached night of frolicking and fun, then the offer's there."

His gaze slid to Melvin's.

"Plus you look like you could use it."

He finally managed to catch his breath, and listened in a strange kind of off-kilter distance as Nash explained the offer on the table, thought the last part sounded like it was more of a pity offer.

He was about to ask if it was, but then stopped, cause then that could cause the offer to be retracted, and it came to him quick that that was not what he wanted to happen.

Eyes widening, he opened his mouth again, a sudden rush of adrenaline rising up through his system like warm cocktail. "Yes. I do want that. I - do we..." He glanced around at the fort and back to him, the eagerness turning off switches and levers to vital parts of his brain to fire up a cold engine.

A part of the offer, admittedly, had been out of pity, but only a very small part. Nash was under the impression that no one wanted a pity ********, and besides; what he had meant by Melvin looking like he'd needed it was in the same way that Nash needed it. They both wanted it, so what was the point in saying otherwise?

He shifted where he sat, Nash lowering his legs from the wall, though he kept them outstretched, sitting up straighter. The space between all the boxes and under the umbrellas was spacious enough for movement, and Nash didn't really want to go back to his room.

He patted his lap with one hand and gestured with a jerk of his head for Melvin to come over.

"Unless you want to take the time to walk back," Nash added, brows raised.
