Satisfied he'd gotten a decent amount due a smoke, the syringe was removed and set aside, and the gauze adjusted to catch the remainder of the fluid as Zeke pressed on the bruise itself. It was a process, slow at first, but got easier after a moment as the hole he'd made stretched under the strain, and allowed more of the grey pus to pass through more smoothly.

He winced through the rest of the extraction, and when the last of it was out he let out a very pained sounding sigh, blinking at all the fluid that had actually been in there.
"I'm really curious how in the hell this even got here," he said as he looked at the oily sludge. "'Cause the thing never actually stabbed me or injected me or anything like that. But look how much was ********' stuffed in there. No wonder it hurt."
Curiously, the sludge on the outside looked like simple sludge. The sludge in the syringe, however, slowly took on that cloudy, mist-like appearance it had while still inside his arm.

It was one of the grosser things Zeke had seen since he'd started working in the infirmary, and that disgust showed on his face as he folded the gauze up, then wrapped it up in a paper towel to be disposed of later. "No idea, but there's a lot of s**t regarding Fear that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. We're just forced to roll with it, for the most part." He gave the syringe a curious glance before shaking his head and grabbing a clean gauze pad and an alcohol wipe so he could clean the now tiny wound and bandage it up. "I'm sure it feels a lot better now. No more pressure pushing on the inside of your wrist." As he talked he tore open the wipe and rubbed it over the spot he's inserted the needle.

Rhys listened, lips turned down in a deeper frown at the idea of having to deal with more things like this, or worse, in the future. It was part of the job though, and one that he voluntarily signed up for. Even if they'd been more specific in their disclaimers about Deus and what they did and dealt with, though, he probably would have chosen to sign up anyway. Life sucked far worse on the outside, so this? This he could handle.
"Yeah..." He moved his wrist around a little to test it. While it did still hurt a little bit, it was far, far less than before, so he set his hand back down and watched Zeke disinfect the little puncture wound, wincing a little at the sudden stinging sensation.
"Thanks, by the way. Should I just call you again if it comes back or something?"

Zeke was busying himself with cleaning up, but he paused at Rhys' question to glance back at the trainee. "Me, or any other hunter that happens to be on duty if you need immediate help."
