"Just-- " She was sliding off her bed, wiping at her face in a poor attempt to compose herself. "Forget it. Okay. Forget it."
She couldn't articulate the things she felt or what she wanted to say so she was done trying to talk to him. Bob, who often criticized her decisions and actions like he knew what was best.
Most of this mess wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for him.
"I-- " She shook her head, hands lifted in exasperation. "You can't make this better. You're just making it worse." It wasn't Bob's fault exactly but Rory was so tired of feeling the slight judgement he kept lobbing at her.
With a huff, Rory turned on her heel and left the room.

His head snapped back as she practically barked at him. He.. he hadn't even sassed her, had he? Why was she attacking him over... wait, huh?
Furry face looked perplexed as the turquoise haired teenager began waving her hands around as she moved to vacate the bed. He opened his mouth to get a word in edgewise but when she informed him that he was only making things worse, his mouth clamped shut and his ears flattened against his head.
There was nothing to say as she stormed out in a whirlwind of anger and irritation. It took him a moment to regain his thoughts and as the door downstairs slammed shut, he moved to slink towards the window with his tail tucked in between his legs.
Wait. No... no. He wasn't going to run away. Not again. Not when Rory was hurting and losing friends by the minute. She could hate him, she could blame him, but he was going to be there for her - just as he'd promised - and ready to listen when she needed to vent.
Or blame, as it appeared she still preferred to do.
Hopping down from the bed, he reacquainted himself with the forgotten socks and dust bunnies under the bed, succumbing to the darkness and loneliness below as he curled into a tight, sad little ball of fur.
