Rep kissed him back, relaxing again under the contact. He was stronger than he'd ever been, able to endure the creature he'd made himself, but the support made even more difference.
"Hahah, knowing them they'll make it worse."
He nodded. "But aye, I will. I think you are good at helping to make things like, friendly to people and something people would use rather than thinking I'm just going to ******** gouge them."

"Now there's a scary thought. At least my machine survived. I have enough stuff to replace. This mattress has got to go, but it'll have to wait till the rain lets up." The complaint was relaxed; Jordan couldn't muster up any particularly negative tone at the moment. The mattress was harder than he liked, but currently he was the most comfortable he'd been in bed in some time. "I'll make myself useful," he agreed. The island's economy functioned on price gouging in general, but people were more likely to take advantage of what Rep was working on if they they didn't feel like they were being ripped off. "And be visible about it."

"This rain is complete s**t." Rep said with a sigh, and it was, but it didn't matter to much to him right now either, comfortable and warm and with many of the heavy weight on his shoulder lifted up and away. "A good mattress is important though."
He smirked. "When you get a new one I'll help you break it in."
He nodded "Your help's important. People don't trust me, even when I'm being trustworthy, you are like ******** made..." and he leaned in to gently kiss up along Jordan's neck. "..of trustworthy.." and a little n** with his teeth. "And /sass/."

Jordan laughed. "I'd appreciate the help with that," he said, low-voiced, looking up at Rep through half-lidded eyes and smirking slightly. He tipped his chin up to allow the touch and took a soft, hissing breath through his teeth. "If I can convince a few people, that's something, anyway -- mm," he broke off at the n** and pressed closer, distracted from the topic at hand. "That's good, yeah, do that again ..."

Rep grinned wolfishly, enjoying just savouring Jordan. "It's more than something, it's important." he said before obliging him with another just like he'd asked.
"I cannot ******** help myself with you." he said. "And I'm looking forward to blue kingdom finding out about well... all this. My counterpart was always pretty ******** tetchy about the whole situation."

Jordan made a soft, throaty sound, familiar, pleased. He wrapped an arm round Rep's shoulders and settled down, tucking himself close against his lover's body and indulging himself in the close warmth. "Mmm. Yeah, my other was highly annoyed about -- all that," he agreed lazily. "Thought I should be more assertive." He tilted his head slightly, considering. "I suppose he wasn't completely wrong."

Rep was just so satisfied and pleased with Jordan again, a heavy rich warmth that settled in his chest and made him feel good. He was just plain old happy and he knew that his blue kingdom self would be too.
"I like it when you get assertive." he said with a big grin. "You've got a ******** fiesty streak and when the claws come out its really ******** hot."

The happiness was deep and warm and mutual. It might not last forever, but for now it was a shared emotion. It was all the more precious for having been unexpected; Jordan had been braced for a final letdown, and had found instead that Rep was willing to push back to have him. It was comforting, a heavy satisfaction with just an edge of half-secret smugness. He loved, he wanted; he was loved, he was wanted. He couldn't have everything he wanted, but he could have this, this quiet and intimacy and affectionate exchange. He grinned back, a devious, mischievous expression. "I'll remember that," he teased.
