"Good, something other then the sun, works for me. My sister always brags how she's first in everything so its nice to have a day where the moon is literally in front of it all." She took another long sip of her drink. "I don't think it'll do that. Not like those otter pop things." She took a longer sip now shivering slightly at the sensation of it chilling her on the warm day.Ultimately she sighed nodding in confirmation, "She was born first by a smidge, and we're competitive so it's kinda a big deal today." She gestured to Mimsy now, "Hey, Um, Mimsy? This is a setup for the total eclipse but we're on an island way out of projection. So is it true the Island is some timey wimey in between place that can move making us in the path of eclipse again?"

So there was an eclipse and he was all about joining the fun these days (because what the hell else was there to do when he didn't feel like training), so Rhys eventually got out there and joined the small crowd that was forming out where the view might be best. He gave a nod to the good doctor and grabbed his glasses before flopping down on the grass next to some dude with a box.
"Hope this spot's not taken," he said as he stretched out and got comfortable. Clearly he wasn't about to move no matter what the answer was going to be. "Also, what's with the box?"

All of a sudden Luneria would find herself nudged quite roughly by a foot planted in the center of her back. "Second born, second best, b***h!" There was just an edge of actual bite to it. A hint of legitimate annoyance as she gave another shove before taking her foot back. Luna had been driving her crazy all ******** day, and it wasn't even half over yet. She was standing there behind them, smiling coldly down at her twin with a frozen drink in one hand and a pair of viewing glasses dangling from a finger on her free hand. She flicked a quick glance at Seren, recognizing her from the other night, then up and over to Mimsy. Apparently interested in the answer to the question Luna had asked before she'd so rudely interrupted her. Henry was there, but he was sort of hovering on the edge of things, not entirely sure of his welcome, despite it being a party out on the training field. But that wasn't really abnormal for him. The only place he ever really felt comfortable on the island was in his dorm, and even then, it wasn't the same as his room back home. For one thing, there was no T.V. or Playstation. Hands in his pockets, he watched on as what appeared to be two different sets of twins arrived, head tilting slightly to one side as a thoughtful look crossed his features. He had on a t-shirt with a graphic of a tri-force on the front, a pair of worn jeans, and old sneakers. The blue hair color he'd arrived here with had faded considerably, as well as grown out, and he was in serious need of a touch up, or a trim. [ Henry is open for Interaction ]

[ with Henry ]In general Camille was not a young woman inclined to dislike people. But she couldn't help but feel like Soleil and Lunaire were just a little extreme. Extreme enough that she let her older sister take care of herself in the middle of the field and wandered off to meet someone new. Someone new, in this case, was a nervous-looking guy on the fringe of the crowd looking unsure of his welcome. "Hey!" Stepping up she held out a pair of generic viewing glasses quite unlike the ones she had sticking out of the top of her shirt. Hers had been customized with her name and a few rudimentary drawings on the arms of the frames. "Welcome, welcome! You might wanna avoid the melee..." She jerked a thumb towards the raucous gathering around the center of the field. "I'm Cami."

"Well, all I can say is that when you look at how a day is defined, midnight to midnight, it begins AND ends with the Moon... Just something to think about." She gave her new companion a friendly, easy smile with those words. She continued to drink her beverage, and grinned. "Well I mean on the one hand, good, it always looked so weird, but on the other hand, darn. I'd love to think this was like adult style candy drinks." She listened to the description, and lowered her face to her knees, her eyes a little sad. "Ah... I was the elder sibling but... there wasn't really competition between us. We didn't get a lot of contact, unfortunately." When Soleil showed up, and shouted, Seren half jumped to her feet in a defensive pose, startled as ********. She was still on edge from all the fighting the other night, so this sort of caused her to freak out a little. She stared at Soleil, then slowly sat back down and said "Uh. Hi. Um.", unsure how else to handle this suddenly awkward situation. Lunaire's question caused her eyes to widen, and she looked up at Dr. Mimsy with a hopeful expression, because she REALLY didn't want to miss out!

"Uh, no.." Chris had deliberately spaced himself away from the main group and having someone come set beside him on purpose was a bit like someone sitting directly beside you on an empty bus. Pointing out his box made Chris frown a bit, "Oh it umm.. well it's for looking at the eclipse but I didn't know anyone would have glasses..." His voice sort of trailed and he shifted his box out of view.

Luka hadn't bothered to don her glasses yet, because she was pretty convinced that nothing was happening yet. Maybe the lady who organized the whole ordeal would pipe up with more information. It wasn't like doing a google search would help much when it came to determining when peak viewing time would be on Deus.
She could probably ask. (She didn't.)
"Well duh," she quipped, barely glancing over at Lena. "No. You have your own, s'not my fault you don't know how to use 'em." Immediately, the teen was scooting away, her paper glasses pressed tightly to her chest. "You're blinder than a bat, maybe try 'em with your glasses on so you can actually see."
She knew this because she too were blinder than a bat.
They probably should have tried to get contacts for this. Or for life on Deus's regardless.
"First time we're let off the island we should get contacts. Glasses seems like a liability."

"Pretty smart," he replied, glancing over just as the box was scooted out of his sight. "I didn't know about the glasses either. Just got lucky is all."
Rhys rolled his head to the side so he could actually get a look at the guy. He hadn't really been paying attention earlier; it just seemed better to sit near someone than be on his own like he usually was. "Since you brought it an all, you gonna use it or didya get glasses?"

[ With Cami ]He really wasn't used to people actively coming up to him. So when Cami appeared in front of him, holding a pair of viewing glasses, his initial reaction was to blink owlishly at her, before glancing off to the side where she was indicating. "Oh." He hadn't even really noticed. It was always a little chaotic here, so a bit of boisterous yelling really didn't phase him anymore. ~ Yer gettin' desensitized, boil.~ I guess so.~ Issa good thin.~ He wasn't sure if he believed that, but he could sense his weapon's pride over the matter. It made him frown, lips twisting a little to one side, before Cami's introduction brought him back to the present, and her presence. That he'd forgotten, even if just for half a second, was enough to bring a wash color to pale cheeks, which he'd try to play off best he could. Hi," he flashed her a smile, taking the glasses from her. "Thank you. I'm Henry. Mist trainee."

"Valid point. Saving that one for later." She said to Seren nodding in confirmation. "She'll probably roll her eyes and say no ones awake for half of that anyway." She was going to sip her drink again when someone gave her a rather rough nudge in the shoulder. Her head snapping back to look up Sol with a frown. "Moon day on a Moonday." The pun was awful, "Kick me again and I'll dump the rest of my drink on your coat." She puffed her cheeks. "Seren if you've never met her, this is my sister Sol. She's a butt." This was followed by swating at the likely to kick again foot. "I'm pretty sure what we're drinking is adult fun drinks. Not like nasty beer or something. It actually taste good. But like a slurpee at the same time."

Her face blanched at the suggestion.
"Contacts?"
Contacts meant shoving fingers into your eyeballs. If that wasn't bad enough, it also meant having to peel tiny layers of plastic from off of your eyeballs. Far too much eyeball touching involved, in her opinion.
"There's a reason we haven't pursued this option before, y'know."
Her glasses rose to sit on her head like her normal pair normally did, but flimsy paper proved inadequate for head sitting. Go figure. Instead, the opaque, seemingly-useless item fell into her lap as she shot another scowl towards her sibling - just for good measure, of course.
Lulu had a point, though. If they were supposed to be hunting shadows and fighting monsters, having their glasses fall off could be highly problematic. Possibly deadly.
"What about those little chain thingies?" Fingers rose to motion to tiny bits of string attached to the end of her glasses, coming down until they met with one another, "Like how Granny had on hers. That kept them on her if they managed to tumble off?"
Lena Sargent: openly willing to risk her already questionable fashion sense to wear Grandma accessories in attempts to avoid sticking fingers in eyeballs.

"Probably use glasses I guess.." Chris's voice seemed to drop in volume the more unsure of himself or uncomfortably on the spot he felt. This wouldn't be so awkward if he had been left alone with his box probably.. but with a crowd of people and adequate supplies it made his small effort feel foolish. "Don't want to hurt my eyes.." And the box probably wouldn't work anyway. Chris glanced at the smattering of people and wondered why more hadn't come out. Wasn't this a rare occurrence?

"Yeah, contacts," Luka shot back while trying, and failing, to keep from rolling her eyes at her sister. She knew that the whole sticking stuff in your eye was unappealing, but being able to see without worrying about glasses getting broken or knocked off was a bonus.
They hadn't seen how dangerous stuff could be yet.
"I know, but just consider it Le." She sat up, letting her gaze drift across the people that gathered once again. She made a face and groaned, loudly, at the suggestion. "Come on. You're joking right? We're not wearing granny chains. Or. I'm not."
Sure she didn't care that much about her image, but granny chains was pushing it. "Besides, contacts are better for athletics."

Rhys nodded once when he got an answer, then shrugged. "Sounds like a plan," he said before straightening himself out so he was looking right up at the sky again. He pulled the glasses on and looked toward the sun, sighing. "You know, this s**t's supposed to happen once in how many years or whatever, but I don't really get what the big ********' deal is. The sun gets covered by some planet or whatever it actually is. So what?"
And yet he was out there like a damn hypocrite simply because it was something to do. The brunette sighed again and pulled the glasses off. The sun was still whole so he had a feeling he'd be out there for some time.

"That pun is awful," she monotoned, sneering down at her sister for all over five seconds before dropping down to drape across the other girl's back and shoulders. "And if you dump that s**t on my coat I will put so much gum in your hair you'll have to shave it." She probably wouldn't, probably. She paused long enough in her harassment to lash a grin at Seren, arms curling tighter around Luna's neck in an exaggerated hug. "We met, sort of, the other night at that dare game. Hello again. I love your hair. Ce doit être une salope à entretenir." And then she was right back into being a pain in the a**. "Did you seriously just say adult fun drinks? Luneria, how ******** old are you?"
