Honestly she'd never really played with toe beans before, this was really her first time being in the same space as a cat (guardian or otherwise) in a more relaxed and non-business setting. But he'd been wiggling his paws and her hands had seemed to just know what to do. Plus it had given her something to focus on as she thought.

"I... don't know." Oh that was food for thought. "Dad and I have never sat and talked about it?"

Actually they tried to keep everything happy(ish) and light at home now that she thought about it. Probably because of what had happened with the organ ring incident. Were they trying to make sure she had forgotten about it? Didn't want her thinking about it or how she could have died?

She'd probably think about it for the rest of her life, honestly. There was always something that seemed wrong about the whole ordeal, even if she would never find out why.

"I should try asking him one day. Though I'm always afraid he might figure me out." A slightly embarrassed confession. "So I may wait still."

Wiggling her finger as he grabbed it with his paws, Melody couldn't stop from smiling again. There was something just... pure and uplifting about this. Just having him curled up and playing like a normal cat, but getting to talk to someone about things she couldn't talk to her family about? Sure there were other senshi or knights but... she didn't really know a lot of either side out of their powered selves and it made it so hard.

Almost isolating.

"Hijō ni utsukushīdesu?" she echoed, not knowing the meaning of what he said. Though she may have blushed just a tiny bit when he equated whatever it was to her as well. Surely it had to be something flattering because the small cat didn't seem to know how to not flatter her.

And then he was apologizing she was assuming, given the rest of the statement made and she couldn't help but to sit up suddenly in protest. Of course she made sure to wrap her willowy arms around him craddling him to her chest even as she proceeded to... scold...? him?

One could only assume it was a scolding even though her words didn't seem angry or displeased. A little firm maybe but as gentle as she always was.

"You hush," a finger booped his nose lightly. "You are a fine guardian, more then fine honestly. Not to mention still new to this whole being a guardian thing so it makes sense that you won't know a lot of things. Honestly I wasn't even sure if you knew about the planetary travel, it sort of came out in idle thought.

"But still you knew the answer and even if you hadn't it would have been fine. Because you are new and learning and that is more then okay. Just because I've been doing this for longer then you have doesn't mean I know more and so that makes you less. I don't even know as much as I feel I should if I didn't know how to travel to my planet by now anyway."

Lifting him up a bit there was a kiss placed to the star on his forhead.

"You are the best guardian I have ever met and I mean that, Itsuki."

Smiling at his reaction, and letting him hide away if that's what she wanted, Melody simply laid herself back down with him on her stomach. He could unhide whenever he was ready.

"Just don't overwork yourself in your quest to learn everything, okay? You won't help any of us if you work yourself sick~" A gentle brush of fingers into his fur. "And I won't tell Ash anything you don't want me to. If I ever run into her."

She didn't know if she ever would meet her, the city was big enough that she might not. But even if she did she wouldn't squeal on Itsuki to her. Everyone deserved the right to not have to throw themselves into this war.

"I didn't know you could turn into a person though. I've only ever met guardian cats in cat form." A gentle hum in thought. "I wonder what you'll look like..."

She was a mess of gigges and laughter at his reverance of a human form, would have been curled on her side dying had the cat not still been on her stomach. Well he'd moved his way towards her face along the way, nose to nose with Melody so he could reveal to her the answer she was sure she knew.

It all came down to tuna. Cartoon cats had been saying for years they they'd kill for thumbs to open tuna cans and she was not surprised to hear him exclaim the same sentiment. In fact there may have been a new wave of giggles from the blonde until she learned how to breathe again.

"But if you can open the tuna cans, what good am I?" a playful tease as she settled down and a hand moved down his back in a loving pet. "Regardless, I'm sure you'll manage to unlock your human form, Itsuki. And I hope I'll be there to see it when you do."

Opening her mouth to answer the question about dinner, which was only going to be along the lines of whenever she was called, she was cut off by the sound of her dad's voice down the hall.

"Dinner's ready pumpkin!"

Brown eyes moved from her bedroom door to the cat seated atop her. "I think that answers your question, hm?"
