Neryssa
post 2

Neryssa just about jumped out of her skin as someone appeared close to her. The action nearly knocked Lygs off her back, thus he gave her a hiss of displeasure before turning his head towards the one that had spooked his keeper. Neryssa reached back and patted the Maglardilla to calm him. She didn't want him to skitter away again in a crowd this big. Who knew what would happen to him. But her mind raced with the questions that were fired her way. So much so that she almost felt dizzy.

"Slow down will you?" Neryssa told the one that had appeared out of no where. "I was telling Lyge, he's a Maglardilla, that there were many people here. And I was wondering where my sister was in this mass." She put out there, not yet noticing that Nadiya had appeared in the crowd, but was keeping herself hidden.

"My sister and I are from Matori, in Tendaji. We're new here and still exploring, hunting for our own little things." Neryssa nodded slightly before looking at this reporter again. "Missing persons huh? That's what all this is about? I have heard snip-its,
but never really paid too much attention."

Limbree
post 1

The news had spead like fire through the area, People were going missing right out from under the noses of everyone. Limbree, out on her farm with her family, had heard from their neighbors about the goings on. Her brothers too focused on bringing in the harvest, left the spirited inventor to do the work. Shaking her head and picking up her arms, a small quiver of arrows and her crossbow. One she had bought from Tendaji on her visit there. She loved the craftsmanship of the weapon. Slinging both over a shoulder she picked up a smaller pack of travel gear. The last thing he really needed with her was Skitter-Eek. The Telmna wasn't about the have any of it. Shaking her head, Limbree swung her too over her shoulder to use the quiver at her waste as a perch.

"And you behave, this is an important." Limbree told the Telmna who only squeaked in return.

That was all she could expect from the nimble critter as she headed for the meeting place that everyone was heading to. She was going to be fashionably late, but, that was who she was after all. The one eager to work, but late getting to the work. Fortunately, she was able to hitch a ride with someone heading into town, so maybe she wouldn't be that late...

Nadiya - 2

"Spillin' our secrets so easily, eh?" Nadiya teased as she popped out and around so that she could nudge her sister, "Still glad to have found ya." The Matori glanced at the journalist with a small smile, "You two can keep talkin' obviously, I'm just lookin' around and gatherin' all the stories I can find as well. Though honestly should be a trade system. You get our info for some good stories of yours as well~" She winked playfully before glancing about. Sure was a big buzz - that meant things had to be getting serious. A slight frown crossed her features before she shook it off and regained her smile.

"I'm guessing you probably don't know what is goin' on either, do ya?"

Tyiva - 2

As they waited on the announcements and discussion to begin Tyiva found herself almost pacing. It was bothersome to think about something being wrong and even more so to think about the potential of it being a problem back home in Chibale. She could only imagine how her sisters were handling things....Tsk. She shook her head. Who knew? Perhaps it was simply something happening in Belrea. Aisha only knew what these new lands were hiding from them after all. The Alkidike's gaze slipped towards the Oban at her side, "It seems the crowd is getting even bigger. Quite a few seemed worried as well..." She murmured thoughtfully as she glanced around some more.

Chapter 9: Grave Expectations

|| IC ||

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.As the voices of both Belrean and strangers rose in the amphitheater, it was clear that they were all but at capacity. Some even found space on the stairs, but were quickly shooed to allow room for safe passage just in case. There was light jesting and speculation among all, with a handful speaking of concern. Maybe they took on too much, inviting the mainlanders here. Or maybe the missing people really just fled to the mainland to never return.

Suddenly, a eight figures in dark jackets entered the stage, each one with a splash of color signifying their sector. They took their seats at a table that was rounded so all could face each other, in a shell like space so their voices would carry out across the way. As they settled in, each nodded to each other before taking their ink and paper, as a young scribe rushed over to also take notes.

With some coughs, clearing of throats, and a bit of light chit chat asking how each was doing, they quickly got settled into their places and their roles as leaders of the Academy of Steam.

"Let us speak, my friends, on the recent happenings across our lands and the troublesome disappearances."

Yokka- Post 2

Seeing the figures taking their places on the stage, Yokka spun to hurry over to her family. By the time she got there though.. there was no seat available. She looked to her step-mother, who only gave an amused but helpless shrug. The place was pretty full, after all, and she had left no mark on the seat.

Huffing, she did a couple spins to look for seating. Brow cocking with surprise, she hurried down the aisle and hopped into the seat right behind a lightning woman with rather voluminous hair. Oh, that was the academy member seating! She was so close!

Reigning herself in, she gave the crowd-watcher in front of her a polite smile and wave.. though her fingers may have waggled a little too enthusiastically than simple politeness. Too bad she hadn't sat down here before the leaders had arrived!

Howth
post three

He went silent as the Academy leaders assembled on stage, a surprising and very small smile lifting the corners of his mouth, at least until they spoke. Howth had heard about the missing Earthlings, but he hadn't considered it long enough to conclude that it might have been a widespread problem. Bad things happened in big cities, but as long as he kept to the curfew his mother had set, he felt safe enough.

"Has this affected you?" he whispered. "The disappearances?" Maybe it was a bigger deal than he'd thought.

Limbree
Post 2

Well, she was more then late now as she raced towards the doors of the amphitheater and shoved one open, probably smacking anyone who was on the other side. By the time she got in the academy members were at the base stage and were looking at each other. Well at least she wasn't that late, just looked like all the best seats were taken and most the standing room was taken as well. That is what she got for taking so long to get there, Lag behind and you get the scraps.

Petting Eek who perched at her back, her tail flicking from side to side. Seemed the critter was excited to be around so many others that the temptation to leap to another body and search their pockets was near irresistible. Limbree tried her best to keep Eek occupied and away from other people's pockets.

"You behave back there. I have treats for you if you don't go looking for trouble." She whispered to the Talmna who huffed in her hair as if saying 'duh'. But Eek's eyes were everywhere to once, watching..

Karo 2

Karothdra gave Ty a small smile when she felt the squeeze of her hand; it was reassuring to know she was there. Karo didn’t know how she would have reacted to the news had she not been there. But Tyiva’s words also brought on some not so warm feelings. They would have to return home one day, they had to. Tyiva would want to return and make sure her sisters were safe and KAro would never take that away from her. Perhaps she would take Tyiva back home, use her strength to push her to do the thigs she didn’t want to but had to do.

“We can’t get involved with their affaires if it is only happening here,” Karothdra said thoughtfully. “So we can’t worry yet.”

Finally the leader seemed to speak up, it dind’t sound like it was happening back on Tendaji so perhaps it was not? Still Karothdra wanted confirmation that it wasn’t before she felt relieved.

Ila 2

So the rumors were true, people had been disappearing. This was quite disconcerting. Perhaps the leaders were about to tell everyone why they had happened and if they had stopped it. Surely with all the technology and knowledge available to them they were able to figure things out. She briefly wondered if it was happening on Tendaji as well. Or maybe they were the cause of this. Ila sighed, she hoped this Tendaji was safer, she planned on traveling there at some point. She didn’t really have a good impression right now.

Tyiva - 3

The Alkidike nodded at Karo's words, "That is true enough." Though her antenna flicked at the thought. As a warrior she was not about to let things happen before her and she felt that the other woman would be the same. Certainly she would not solve the problems for this strange land, but if someone was in danger before her then she would move. As the leaders spoke Tyiva rose a thoughtful brow and began to listen. Perhaps now they would learn more answers...

A maglardilla? How exotic looking! How exotic sounding! That was worthy of several notes itself, but she had to know more... but that was also irrelevant.

"What are you looking for?" se asked Neryssa,

"Really? Why not? Why don't you think that missing persons are important?" Agi asked Neryssa, a little too fiercely before checking herself. Oops, that was a little confrontational, she hadn't meant it in that way.

(From Matori - Lyge is a maglardilla, has a sister, WATER Wow wow wow!)

"Did you just learn about the missing persons here? Any thoughts?"

AND THERE WAS ANOTHER ONE! Her sister, Agi presumed... but then, she knew she shouldn't presume anything. "What are your names?" she asked, perhaps a little belatedly.

"And no, I don't know what is going on... what are your thoughts about that?" she asked, her voice dropping to a whisper as the auditorium quieted.

Post 3

Neryssa just about jumped out of her skin once more as her sister appeared almost out of no where. Where were these people coming from what were making her jump, how many more were going to appear.

"I'm looking for different dance styles. Something new and not known to many other places." she answered, kinda ignoring her sister for a moment. "My name's Neryssa, my sister there can tell you her name, since she doesn't like me saying." She poked in fun.

"As for the missing persons thing, I just happened to peek at this paper that someone was reading and thought it sounded interesting.
Don't know much more then that really."
She shrugged turning her attention to where the finely dressed people were standing.

Karothdra 3

So much for a so called ‘vacation’ from Tendaji. Karo would have liked to be able to relax but she sensed Tyiva would not relax until they knew the whole truth or at least partly. The Oban did not mind, she liked how caring Tyiva was even to those she did not know. Karothdra blinked when she found herself staring at her Alkidike partner and quickly turned her eyes back to the leaders.

Ila 3

Ila waited patiently, hands on her laps as she quietly listened to her siblings squabble voer some sort of problem while the others around them whispered about what was going on. Her parents didn’t seem too concerned at least, but that was perhaps a façade they hide away from their children.
