"There's always a timer. It'd be nice if it'd display itself somehow, rather than forcing us to guess and hope." Jordan sounded tired and somewhat pessimistic. "You okay?"
The too-familiar voice made his shoulders stiffen up, and he turned to see that one of his least favorite people had found them. "We're discussing the prospect of escape," he replied coolly.

"I'm certainly not in your head." he said. "Though I have seen all manner of strange clones today. I am assuming you are yourself though. Especially with Saliva being her usual truly impressive self."
And he smirked.
Much like a cat who'd found a human who wasn't comfortable around them and decided to sit in their lap, he sidled a little closer to Jordan.
"Oh you are real too." he said with a friendly smile. "Have you had any leads? People are always saying how smart you are."

He could hear the thrashing in his mind as Saliva rose up and crackled with energy.
Chill. He told her.
That only made the crackling worse.
"Yeah, I'm as myself as I think I am. So that's a thing. Nothing like other words to make you question everything. "Have you seen or heard anything else? Other hunters?" He was guessing that if Lawr found other hunters that were real, then he would have a group around him.
"Did you see the mirrors too?"

Jordan's eyes narrowed just slightly, but he held his ground. He was not going to let Lawr make him start backing up just by getting a little closer to him or being his usual needling self. "We're real enough," he said shortly. "If you haven't tried it, breaking the mirrors does nothing. We were just discussing the voice we heard and its reference to a cage."

"I did." said the short pale man. "For all the good it did. I met Rodney, we got separated but he is certainly here. There was a horseman who looked like Rodney too. Duly dispatched. Seems like cloning technology."
He looked Jordan over. "How are you sure you are real?" he asked before shrugging.
"I didn't try breaking it, I'm curious but not about this place only about people. And a cage? Is this the cage? Reminds me of the pods. Certainly this isn't my imagination, I don't dream in colour most of the time for a start."

"That are part of the cage. Whatever the case, we can still look out and seems the mirrors are taunting us of what is really happening. Maybe they like the idea of us being helpless to protect our home."
He paused, looking up and then all around. "I wonder if there is anything unusual from the already unusual that stands out that might give us more clues as to how we might get out of here."
Melvin did however find Lawr distracting for a moment and glanced over. "So...what are talking about here? Black and white kind of deal with your dreams? Also, are you ok with Rodney wandering around. The guy doesn't exactly fight .....anything."

"No way to tell yet how literal the description is. The voice also said, you wanted to come here. Without any knowledge of why we're here, there's no way of telling whether that's true, either." He sighed. "I'm guessing you also fought other versions of yourselves?"
He returned the shrug carelessly. "How are you sure you're real? It's a pointless question to ask until we get back to reality and know whether everyone remembers or not."

The shadow sounded peeved.
"If you're looking for a way out I'm happy to help you die." It held something that looked like a staff up in the direction of Jordan.
"Which one of you wants to go first?"

"Mm. Is dying the way out? I doubt that, somehow," Jordan said, turning to face the shadow. He held Ferros low at his side, ready to sweep forward into an attack. He thought briefly, guiltily, that it was considerably harder to contain the idea when it applied to yourself. HP: 45/70 Damage: haha nope Charge: 1/3

"Oh no." Seeing another shadow did not mean good things, and he was aware how tired he was at the moment.
I'm sorry. Saliva said and he shook it off. It wasn't her fault. Things hapoened and he had to hope that in whatever world he was in, dying here would mean the end of everything.
Not sure what condition Lawr was in, he moved a bit closer to defend him. "No thanks. I think if you wwnt to file a noise complaint that there were some louder students upstairs." It was worth a shot.

"I am not about to die today." Lawrence said haughtily. "We aren't all bitter jilted and melodramatic you know." And somehow the way he said it came with its own invisible hand gesture.
"Take Jordan first."
He carefully got behind Melvin. "And thank you dear." he said.

"Only one way to know if death is a way out." There might have been a hint of a smile in that voice.
"Oh, and thank you for that. I'll head upstairs to deal with rowdy children once I'm done with you." There was a movement from the shadow - it leapt forward, straight at Jordan. It's long shadow weapon aimed for his head.

"I guess that's true," Jordan replied to the shadow. He ignored Lawr's comment; he refused to give the man the satisfaction of seeing him react, and there was a far more immediate problem right in front of him. The problem in question leapt at him. He held his ground and brought Ferros sweeping around and straight into the figure's center of mass, hard. If he could keep it busy, the others might have a better chance of either surprising it or escaping. HP: 40/70 Damage: 17+2=19 Charge: 2/3

Melvin stopped, and slowly looked over his shoulder to mouth the word "why?" at Lawr.
However, it seemed that Jordan wasn't about to be the first to die today, and swiped back. Meanwhile, Melvin wondered just how he was going to be an effective shield when he felt exhausted.
Maybe all that accumulated bad luck would turn itself around today and give him some good luck for a chance.
Maybe.
Well, at least Lawr thanked him.

Lawrence braced himself again in case of further attacks, still on guard even though it was Jordan who'd been attacked. The other hunter was probably the best one to fight anyway given that he was in Sun and was therefore no doubt into all that brute strength nonsense.
He still didn't register how exhausted Melvin was, too concerned about his own skin and saving it.
"You should dodge that." he suggested to Jordan helpfully.
