Exactly two hours passed.

It was enough time for Andrew to realize that the golem should have crumbled and left him back in his body by now. And yet there he sat, still whole, still completely safe, and still completely alone.

In the dark.

With nothing to do but swat at flies.

When he'd said the prank was boring, he'd never said truer words in his life.

Someone put far too much stock in how terrible being alone in the dark really was. They'd clearly thought this was the worst thing they could have done to Andrew; leave him alone in boredom.

Another hour passed before Andrew started hissing. The golem was finally starting to degrade. And in that, this really did end up being a test. Without expecting them to be so successful, Riley's golems had held up three times longer than a normal one did.

Unfortunately, their instability meant for a less than pleasant exit.

The hissing turned to crackling, as the skin began to vibrate. It took exactly ten seconds before Andrew began to glow, and five more before the golem's chest finally, messily popped. The golem turned to mush a second later, leaving Andrew to wake up in his body, unhurt, but possibly disturbed by his body popping apart.
