And after all those physically grueling tasks, it was time for Pedro to deal with one of the most difficult things he knew: Paperwork. It took him quite a long time to finish but finish he did.

Pedro - Part 2 ZETTAI NI MEIWAKUNA KOGEKI!!!
Pedro didn't really consider himself as someone who had a signature move but he was a good enough sport to come up with one as ordered. "I'm going to need a volunteer," he said, glancing around and eventually settling on the first person he laid eyes on. Which happened to be Becker. Pedro's mouth pulled into a wide, warm smile that tapered his eyes into jovial slits. He held his arms apart in open welcome as he approached his fellow Mist.
"Hey, Becker, c'mere," he said and without warning gave them a firm and (in Pedro's opinion) comfortable hug that had full contact. There was certainly no shyness or awkwardness on Pedro's part.

Becker made a noise in the back of his throat that was a cross between a click and a groan as the larger man's arms wrapped around him and squeezed. He had never been one for hugs—all that unnecessary closeness and compression really did a number on his nerves—but somewhere in the back of his mind he had to admit that this was a pretty effective fighting technique. Too bad he didn't have the arm strength to pull it off. Not that he would have anyway.
Silas seemed to approve, his voice almost happy in Becker's head. Isn't this nice, sir?
"No." He wiggled.

Pedro let go of Becker when it became clear the other hunter wasn't comfortable in the embrace. "Thanks for being a good sport!" he grinned, clapping the other hunter on the back before proceeding to his next assessment assignment.

Pedro - Part 2 Bodyguard Duty
Pedro took his first failure at being someone's bodyguard a little too much to heart but he refused to let that stop him. With his second attempt, he made a far, far better performance.

Pedro - Part 2 Research
If there was one thing Pedro was, it was stubborn. Yes, he wasn't very good at Death tasks but he was going to work at it and hopefully improve along the way. So when presented with an assignment that involved researching about a creature he knew from folklore, it was easier for him to type in the appropriate keywords that would lead him to more reliable sources for research.

shikoba - pt 1 - death
If there was one thing Shik really liked about Mist Division, it was that it tended to be quite thorough about its examinations and training. Not that Sun and Moon weren't rigorous or Life and Death not challenging enough, but rather that Mist could take the wort parts of each of them and throw it at him. And god did he love to put himself through the gauntlet.
The first challenge was Death's, so he was glad he managed to down a water bottle beforehand; he was going to need to be alert. The division could be tricksy, and he didn't like what he didn't personally put forth himself. But no: this time it seemed to be less death trap and more puzzle, which suited him just fine. He squinted at the scrap of paper and began to walk. moving helped him think more than standing in one place.
[ The drawing reminds me of those dummies, ] DeVour put forth. [ Or a princess golem, perhaps? Whoever drew this was a dreadful artist. ]
Not princess golems, Shik thought. No frilly details. This one is bare. I think I can make out a symbol in the scrawl...
He turned his path towards the training fields where, rain or shine, someone was always busy practicing. Careful to avoid the archer with a sour look on his face, Shik began trying to inspect the line of dummies. It took him nearly having a few accidents, but eventually he found one with the tip of a sticky note peeking from one of its many tears. Congrats! Please keep the following code in mind and proceed to the next area.

Good on them for having him do something physical right after the mental challenge. Shik rolled his head around and then his shoulders, stretching lightly as he approached the Moon course. "Morning, Haede, Quintus," he said cheerfully. "What are we on about this time?"
"I get to beat your a** free of charge," Haede called back with a wicked grin. "You're on the defense line."
Shik feigned groaning. "No-one wants to smell your gross a** up close when you hit the wall."
It was a bold assertion, given that the moon hunter had a good twenty, twenty-five pounds on him. And Shik definitely felt it when Haede and the others crashed against him, though he stood his ground.

You know what else didn't help? Living mostly on canned non-perishables and relying on teammates that may or may not have had a bone to pick with him personally. Shik didn't exactly make this process easier by being his usual smug self. Not even DeVour was being particularly helpful, because as usual she was commenting on the physique of the other hunters when not complaining about the smell of sweat, dirt, and body odor. In a way, the hurricane was a terrible thing that happened to them both.
The next rush pushed Shik two steps back, but he managed to keep his arms strong as he forcibly pushed the other hunter back. He was beginning to slow down, however, and it showed in the third and final push. With a dull thud of bodies smacking into one another and a few curses thrown about, the defensive line was broken.

There was a long silence when Shik was led onward. It hadn't really clicked in his mind. Not even when he was facing the big gray bear himself, all teeth and old wounds and thick fur. When it finally did, the mist hunter began to grin maniacally.
He had always wanted to wrestle that bear, but he hadn't been sure if Faiza would entertain the stupid idea. Now that he had a chance to, he was going to give it his all.
