Lily was nervous as she approached the chute and advised the fluffy creature that she hoped it didn't die. Which may or may not have made it very nervous before being shoved down the opening and sliding down to the floor.
Test #1: Strength - The minipet is launched into a clearing, with the exit blocked by a large block of wood. All the minipet has to do is push it; by doing so, the path to the next area will open up. 9-10: That minipet is unnervingly strong. It shoves hard enough that the wood breaks, clearing the way. GREAT SUCCESS
The small fluffy fox creature surprised Lily when it hulked out on the block of wood, breaking it in two and continuing onward.
Test #2: Dexterity - The next area is an obstacle course, constructed from living, moving vines. All the minipet has to do is stay on the vines and walk from the entrance to the exit... Easier said than done. 1-4: Wobbling and hopping and rolling about, the minipet manages to make it across. There were some close calls, but it listened to you. You think. SUCCESS
The creature wobbled and rolled and nearly got a vine to the knee when Lily shouted on the speaker for it to look out. From then on, she shouted directions at the creature and its desire not to die caused it to obey.
Test #3: Common Sense - All your minipet has to do to pass is to not hurt itself. Unfortunately, food sits at the opposite side of the room of a great deal of actual physical danger. 4-8: It takes one look at the danger, then at the camera, and then it sits. It knows better. GREAT SUCCESS
Lily drew a breath, about to tell the creature to stay put when it did so on its own, plopping right down and noping at the danger. It didn't care what they told them, sure death lied ahead. Thankfully, that was the right thing to do and it passed all the tests in one piece.

Riley nearly toppled off of her chair trying to back away from the one whispering in her ear, as though the mere proximity of another human being offended her so much. She grasped all of her hair in her hands, trying to hide it and failing miserably.
"That's-" Her throat bobbed as her voice cracked. Speaking to other people was difficult. "Very kind. Please don't touch it."
Not that Aisha looked like she was even considering it, but a million horrible scenarios involving hands on her hair flashed through her mind the moment the girl whispered her compliment.
There were a few slight observations he made as he entered into this particular area of the dungeons (one was, that in fact it was a dungeon). The area seemed to possess a chill that even managed to seep through his several layers of shirts. He shook his head lightly, pushing it from his mind as his lazy eyes followed about. There were chairs, a little sad looking, and only so much lighting. And the others (so far, the most active being mostly female). Sheldon didn't pay much more mind to everything as he flopped himself into the rickety chair and leaned back in a full on slouch. His eyes grew heavy and bored and he kept his mouth shut.
Probably not the best thing to do when addressed with a life assessment kind of question. There were murmurs of responses, stutters from a few of the others and a whole lot of notebooks and folders built to impress. It also probably wasn't a good thing, he idly thought with not too much remorse, that most of his ideas and actual progress on this island were all kept in his head. Always better to remember it that way for him, though not the best for show and tell. "I can show you later," he drawled on. He had only just gotten to the second rank anyways, so there wasn't too much just yet. Nor a plucked out determined path really; his laze was to blame as always.
Shifting slightly, Sheldon came to realize that that didn't seem to be the only reason (so far) that they had been called down to the depths below. There was a task to be done. He sighed, disappointed.

There were eyes still on him, that for certain he would be unable to shake. But as there was a lull in activity and more unprying eyes, Sheldon allowed himself out of his chair to go perform the tasks that had been set for all of them.
Simple really, dealing with the miniature pets that those of Halloween seemed to like to keep around. Like humans did but of more interesting variety; the vast variety of species, coloring and various physical attributes was incredibly fascinating. Sheldon had to laugh at a younger version of himself that thought keeping a ferret was by far the most amazing creature he could possess while here he would be able to study a ferret like creature who had several physical attachments available or even be able to physically use some sort of element at their disposal (almost like a pokemon).
His favorites, however, would not be coming into play today. The leads of course plucking out ones that he - and probably several of the others - were unfamiliar with. A rather fluffy, happy looking (despite being in a cage) was presented before him. A Kirpoof was the label said. Sheldon eyed the thing as he looked up with beady eyes then sighed as he plucked a candy from the other offerings. Yellow, it was a nice color and seemed to have a certain glow to it. Of course he liked it. The fluff did not.
Stupid fluff.

The change of scenery did nothing for Sheldon, just another location to hold experiments. He did hold a few questions about the choice of location, unsure of why so much green was necessary. Surely the dungeons they had been firstly taken to would have sufficed, right?
Whatever.
Going to the indicated spot, Sheldon plopped the cage down onto the soft ground and waited for the signal for him to begin the little gauntlet. With a flick of his wrist, the cage was opened and his lazy amber eyes followed along as the little fluffy creature was nearly launched into the area it was meant to go through. He watched its progress, making no motion to use the microphone at all to get the little thing going. It got through to the end all by itself, after all and didn't seem to be need any coaxing (despite the horrible candy he had given it) until it got to the door.
And just couldn't get its little body to go.
"..... push." Was his only command through the provided equipment. That was all it was going to get. It was going to have to get through this on its own, like a proper experiment. And eventually it passed the trial enough to get to the second stage.
Which did not go at all well. Sheldon's eye twitched, watching as the stupid thing fell into a pit of vines. Managed to get itself even more tangled, crying out for help until a tech had to rescue it. He would have seen the thing get out himself really, how dare they help it. He sighed.
Perhaps it was the trauma of the vines it had managed to escape from or perhaps it didn't trust any of other types of food presented to it. All the kirpoof did when he was set into the third stage of the gauntlet was sit down and resist going further (as it panted, desperate for air). It was hard to tell how that was going to fly with those in charge of his Division - even he was unsure, he had to give the fluff some credibility of not walking into any of the traps.
It turned out to be of great victory and he was allowed to retrieve the minipet to return back to the dungeons or wherever he wished to go really. Sheldon opted to return the fluff back, as he did not wish to spend more time, and went to places unknown with a little more coin in his pocket.

He fidgeted in his seat a little as the violet eyes glanced around the room still a little undecided on how he felt about the rest of the occupants in the room. Jin did not want to be there, that part was obvious by the expression of disdain that lingered on his face as he glanced back up at the bars. The room was bad enough with the lingering feeling that something lurked in the darkness that the division lead didn't need to almost stalk her way between the wooden chairs where each of their occupants sat awkwardly, even a few look rather uncomfortable with the entire situation. It made him regret not skipping the meeting and finding somewhere to hide in the lab, or maybe even trail behind Jacob to his meeting instead.
A part of him wanted to question who had thought this would be a great place for their division to meet but as soon as Miss Nester opened her mouth the thought slipped from his mind as the sharp question she had asked echoed throughout the room. The silence was almost painful as Jin winced, there wasn't an immediate from anyone but it didn't take long for someone to give in to her glare. Jin unfortunately didn't have a lot to say, instead he shifted in his seat, almost squirming under her gaze telling her what she needs to know before giving a sigh of relief when she turned attention elsewhere. As soon as they were released he bolted, heading off to do what he needed.

Character's name: Jin Character's Division: Life Intermediate Character's journal link:Journal Character's arcana Devil BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER Current Avi
He didn’t like the idea of an assessment but if he had to suffer through it then he would do what he could to make sure that he completed whatever task they set out in front of him. Which of course included training one of the small minipets that had occupied the lab, this one was small, fluff like with a candy corn sort of coloring that he wasn’t entirely familiar with. For a moment Jin watched him before looking at the assistant again, noting their rather indifferent expressions before sighing and looking back at the pet. It was cute, mostly cute, and it’s fluff reminded him vaguely of his own hair if he didn’t bother tying it up into a ponytail. After a few minutes of scratching its chin Jin gave it a small orange candy that oddly enough was shaped in a pumpkin giving him the vague impression of a traditional piece of candy corn eating a candy corn pumpkin. Before the minipet could finish he quickly snapped a photo and then ushered it on its way to the training ground.
The greenhouse was rather large, and Jin gave an almost disappointed look when he had to drop the small minipet into the chute in order to administrate the next series of test. If he could he would have taken the little thing home and treat it as a pet but that would have caused far more problems then he was equipped to deal with. First up was strength in which at first the small thing seemed utterly confused at what to do. A few words and Jin tried to coax the poor thing into attempting to push the wood however it was too heavy for the poor thing and after giving up and curling into a ball a tech retrieved it. Next up was the obstacle course, luckily the fluffy creatures small frame and nimble feet made it easy for him to walk along the safest path to get safely to the otherside. It was almost as if the minipet was accustomed to dealing with such things. Lastly it was a test of intelligence, or at least what Jin considered intelligence and self control as the small creature was put in a room with food across from it. It made a soft squeak looking at it then to the camera and resorting into curling itself into a ball again. There was a look of relief that passed over Jin’s face, for a moment he was afraid it wouldn’t make it.

The evaluation went well as Jin handed in any of the notes and info that he needed before giving one last look to the small creature. If it hadn’t been for the fact that the lab techs were standing around he would have given it one last hug before dodging out of the greenhouse and back to the room. Instead he gave it another scratch under the chin and waved goodbye before stuffing his hands into his coat pockets and leaving letting the flip flops smack across the floor.

Salem sighed as he realized what he was going to have to do. The good thing was that he liked mini pets and the idea of training one was a great one. He smiled brightly and reached his arms out and was handed a.... a... what the heck was this. It was a ball of grinning fluff. A treat of some kind it seemed. He looked at the bin of candies and reached in at random to take two to feed to the treat.
1-3: Orange candy. It is unsurprisingly shaped like a pumpkin.
4-8: The minipet seems satisfied with its candy, and is encouraged nicely by the morsel of FEAR that you have fed to it. (Add or subtract 1 to any of your rolls.)
The orange candy did seem to be one that the Treat liked and it grinned a bit larger. Salem smiled and pet the little thing. It bounced more and he was able to then move to the next round of training.
It seemed they were going to have to test the treat and see how it does with the three stages that were set for it. He smiled and murmured. " I hope you do well little one. I trust you."

The stage he moved onto being the training. He smiled a little and moved to talk into the microphone. He watched in shock as his poor little treat was launched into the clearing that led to the next stage. It was not able to get into the next area because it was blocked by a piece of wood, which was much larger than the treat itself. THe poor thing was not able to move the wood and it was left sitting there and whimpering. When the tech came and moved the wood the cute little thing bounced off.
1-3: It tries and and it tries, but the minipet cannot push the wood. After time, a tech comes and moves it out of pity. FAIL
The next step seemed easier than that least for one as small as the treat. It bounced around wobbling cutely as it moved from the vines. It made a little sqeaking from time to time as Salem called out encouragement. He smiled brightly as it made it to the end.
1-4: Wobbling and hopping and rolling about, the minipet manages to make it across. There were some close calls, but it listened to you. You think. SUCCESS
The final test was one that seemed a bit harder than the others. This poor thing didn't seem like it was going to fail though. It looked around and noticed that there was danger and trouble in front of it and just sat there tilting it's head.
4-8: It takes one look at the danger, then at the camera, and then it sits. It knows better. GREAT SUCCESS
Shiki was proud of the cute pet and glad it did as good as it did. It may have been weak but it was far from stupid. His own score was 8/10 for being able to train the pet. He smiled and fist pumped the air.
