"I suppose." Ever frowned in consternation down at yet another set of silverware, and ran his fingers through the lot. If some forks were missing, he couldn't be bothered to look it over all that hard. He simply didn't care enough. So he packed it up again. "That's why I wondered what it looks like." He shook his head at Zyk, instead. "It should be different now, I thought."

He turned a considering look on Ever as he opened another box of tapestries. "The cracks are new, and the fading color. It looks very unstable." There were only two items inside the box, one was missing. He made a note and passed it along.

It was Ever's turn, this time, to produce a grandfather clock --and, frowning, he tipped his head down next to it to listen to the internal clicking and turning of gears, to make sure it was working properly. Not that he knew a whole lot about clocks, but nothing was obviously, immediately busted. He lifted his head again. "More than the crystal, though. Or is everything else the same?" He brushed hair carefully out of the corner of his mouth, thoughtful. "I thought the world would be different. It feels different."

Another Cavalry box. Zyk pushed it off to the side. "The lights went completely off for a long moment, and when they came back they were dim, red. Emergency lighting running on less power." His lips twisted thought full as he tried to recall any other differences.

"That's just so...boring." Ever sounded hesitant, still struggling to get something a little more interesting out of Zyk. He smoothed fingers over some tapestries, frowning, and only half recognized that one of them was missing. It wasn't like there was anything he could do about that; instead he rolled one shoulder in a shrug, and turned his face toward Zyk. "I expected you to say all the color had drained out of the world. Or everything was swathed in shadow. Something interesting, unusual."

Zyk snorted at Ever's response. "So sorry to disappoint." As if the power going out after giant cracks formed on the crystal wasn't bad enough. "Should be relieved things are still boring. I do not think they will remain that way." His last box was full of silverware. He frowned down at it, not to pleased with having to sort through it all. Though it became clear rather quickly that there were no forks. He made a note, and sent it along.

Ever made a little face as he worked fingers over the last piece he had to sort -- another clock, he thought from the clicking, though the glass on the front seemed to be woefully cracked and smashed up. He caught a finger on the edge, just barely breaking skin. He pressed the wound into his mouth as he shrugged at Zyk. They were done, now; they could finally get out of the dust and the mess of this place. "I guess it is a good thing. It just felt like something exciting was happening. Without that, it was just kind of a worrisome thing, wouldn't you say?" He shrugged, straightening from his task. The wound on his finger was already patching up nicely; it hadn't been much damage, really. "If it's not something fun, then we need to be concerned."

Zyk was filling out the last form on his clip board, but he paused to consider the other stallion. "Definitely worrisome. The crystal has never had cracks before. If it continues, I am not sure what we will do. It is the source of power for the Dusk." Move, perhaps. Not that Zyk knew where.
