“Ah.” Yunan’s lips pursed themselves into a fine line, “I see. The perks of mixed blood, correct?” His own gaze grew dark for a moment before he offered her another shell, “Seems to be a common theme in our stories.” His father’s family hadn’t taken too kindly to his mother being a Matori woman after all. But it was interesting that at least Kyril had regained her mother’s riches and powers despite that, “Matori seems to be the calmest place for our families.” It was a soft murmur, but the thought still slipped out.
“I would gladly welcome you to my island home again.” Teased Yunan, “Since I seem to be the only one most commonly here that is. You do know that there is a smaller island just outside of this bay? I’m sure you could find some gorgeous shells there if you came before the tide washes in.”

Kyril nodded, “Seems so.” Even if he hadn’t meant to say it loudly the girl acknowledged his words. It definitely seemed as if they both had something similar in their pasts. At least that much she got from the way his gaze changed in that brief moment. I wonder what goes on behind those golden eyes? Flushing the girl shook her head to clear it.
“I suppose I’ll have to come and see it with you when you tell me about your past.” Kyril replied with a grin, “I haven’t seen this island yet so it will be interesting.” She shifted her basket on her arm before bending down to scoop up another shell, “I just hope you aren’t lying and that it has those shells. If not you’ll have to keep finding more for me.”

Reaching down to tug some seaweed from a larger shell, Yunan smirked. “Sounds like a plan to me then.” The hybrid tossed the shimmering shell up into the air so that he could appreciate how colorful the sunlight made it, “This one seems to be a fine piece so I’ll have to work extra hard to find something impressive on my island for you when you come. I definitely wouldn’t want you to think of me as a liar after all.”
He glanced towards her with a smile before tucking the last shell onto the full basket, “Seems like you’ve gotten plenty. Is this it then?”

The girl couldn’t help watching Yunan as he tossed the shell up in the air. It was a rather pretty one…The shell of course! She chastised herself quietly as she jerked her gaze away so that she could sort through her basket. It was rather full and the sun was high. Seems as if my morning is up then. Kyril smiled in return before nodding her head, “Seems like it. Would you want to walk me back down the beach and then maybe I’ll return in a few days to see this magical island you’re talking about?”

“Certainly.” Yunan held out his arm for her, “It’ll be this way. I’m often here in the afternoons when I’m not being dragged into the market. I’ll try to come back here in four days and if not then I’ll just check back on occasion and we will see about fatefully meeting each other once more.” It was a slight tease because honestly while the girl was pretty it truly didn’t break his heart if she wasn’t there. But once again he had to remind himself that connections were essential and if this girl had the heritage then who was he to ignore her charm?

Flushing faintly as she reached out for his arm Kyril allowed Yunan to walk her down the beach towards where they had first met, “Thank you again for your help. I’ll definitely try to wander down this way in four days like you said. If not then I’ll come check too and we’ll see if we do meet again.” She teased lightly, “But who knows?”
Turning on her heel she secured her basket of shells on her arm before waving to the boy one last time. It seemed that today’s walk hadn’t been so boring after all~
