With her playmate running back, Flana decided to do the same. Rather than bowling Koril over this time though, she affectionately nuzzled his hip.

Giving Flana a skritch, he smiled and shook his head. "I'm not afraid of heights!" he assured. At least, he didn't think he was! How big exactly was this tree the other boy had in mind? "I climb lots of trees in Matori to get food for dinner. I like the water better though." He skipped after Tytus excitedly, eager to see what a laotoa was.

It was fun having someone excited with him for once. Tytus definitely appreciated the company as they hiked through a rather isolated trail. If anything the laotoa should be here in this area. At least he hoped so. As they came to an area that broadened out into a small grassy plain Tytus motioned towards a huge, ancient looking tree. "We can hide in those branches after I set out some food and this net." Smirking the boy opened his bag and showed Koril the tightly woven net.

"I'm going to place it in the grass and attach a string to it. Once the creature steps on top to eat we pull and watch as it goes up into the air. From there we'll...let's just hope he calms down after a while and we can then try to go about taming it." He wasn't much of one for caging a creature so he just hoped that his personality would charm the creature over. It was far better than having to fight it.

Pulling out his supplies Tytus nodded to Koril, "Just take this net and begin to throw some grass and stuff over it to hide the obvious rope while I string up the rest. Okay?"

Once the setup began, Koril watched with as much attention as he could muster. He thought the whole idea made sense! Nodding excitedly, he hurried to do as he was asked to. Being able to help someone out was a grand time! Covering the net with a good layer of grass and dirt, he brushed his hands together and looked back at Tytus. "Good?"

Tytus glanced over at Koril's work thoughtfully. The whole net was laying across the ground and even a few pebbles had been placed over edges to make it seem as if nothing was amiss. It seemed pretty solid to him so after one last check on the rope hanging from the branches. Then he sat up the food along the net and had his zanteer sit in the bushes. That was going to help as well if the creature did run away before the net came up. "We're good to go." He reached out a hand to the hybrid, "Need help climbing up? We need to get comfy since it'll be a wait."

The trees here were different than the ones in Matori. Nevertheless, they looked climbable! Accepting the boost up, he scrambled up a few levels before stretching out on one branch at the sturdiest end near the trunk. His arms and legs dangled as he looked down at their trap, a small, hopeful smile lifting. "I hope we catch one soon," he whispered loudly, looking to his companion with a grin.

Flana scooted to hunker next to her new pal, since she wasn't too intent on attempting any sort of climb herself. She yawned and rolled onto her back, letting the sun warm her belly while the scene around her calmed down.

Tytus chuckled at the optimism, "I suppose you haven't been animal hunting before then." The Oban leaned forward from his perch on the branch, "It all depends on luck really. Usually though I've got a rather numb behind by the time I get out of these situations." He teased lightly, "I have some snacks in my pouch here if you need. Eating helps pass the time and these fruit biscuits are pretty great to be honest."

Inna sniffed at her companion before rolling around as well. She had been doing this with Tytus before so the zanteer knew that a nap would probably be in order before anything exciting happened.

Brow rising, Koril shook his head earnestly. "I've gone fishin', but that isn't the same." Well, he didn't like the sound of a numb behind.. but really, it wouldn't be the first time. At least he wasn't just sitting on a flat piece of wood that made up a boat seat like he did when fishing.

"Thanks, but not really hungry yet. I ate with my family before coming out here." After a minute, he looked back at the Oban native. "I guess we have to be really quiet, too," he murmured. That was going to be the hardest part.

Tytus pursed his lips thoughtfully, "Well in a sense it can be." He teased with a grin, "Lots of waiting and then you have to pull it up at just the right time." The Oban wiggled into a better position on the tree limb as he waited, "You sure? Alright then." Popping a biscuit in his mouth the apprentice swallowed before nodding at Koril's next comment.

Yes, they had to be quiet indeed.

"Take a nap if you want. I'll shake you awake when the laotoa comes around." That stated Tytus put up his belongings on another limb and made himself comfortable, but flexible enough so that he could grab the rope at any moment.

Koril grinned brightly and chuckled. "Nah. I usually jump into the water if I get too bored. I chase the fish out, and Flana can catch them. Of course, then there's the risk she'll eat half of what we catch."

A nap? Nodding, he got himself more comfortable on the branch before closing his eyes. No reason not to trust this stranger! "Poke me if I snore," he teased lightly before letting out a content sigh. Not that he was expecting to snore, of course. He didn't want to accidentally scare a laotoa that might come by.

Tytus rose an eyebrow in amusement, "We may have to go fishing together if you're even in Jatine then. Sounds like you have far more fun than me with it. My luck Inna would probably eat all of them before they got to me. I'd just get the tails with the way she eats." The Oban smirked. Perhaps he could use a few pointers from this guy. It would be fun to take Inna out to catch fish with him. Far more interesting than going to the market or waiting on the line to tug!

As the other boy settled into his seat Tytus nodded, "Will do." He replied with a laugh. Though as the minutes passed, which to Tytus felt like forever at times, there was a slight rustling in the grasses around the edge of their stake out, "Psst." Tytus barely nudged Koril and placed a finger to his lips, "I hear movement."

Soon enough a few whiskers would show and then the rest of the cat...a cream colored one with some golden spots in its fur and brilliant blue eyes...Tytus had to hold back on his excitement as he watched the creature edge around the net. They just had to wait and hope that things would work out.

Koril was sleeping quite contently when something nudged him. Eyes blinking open, he immediately remembered where he was, stifling a yawn cautiously. Clearing his eyes, he looked around and had to suppress another squeak of a noise. Was that the laotoa? It was so cute!!!!!

On the ground, perhaps for the better, Flana was curled up on herself as she continued to sleep.

Grinning with excitement Tytus nodded towards Koril before slowly, ever so slowly, inching further along the branch. All he had to do was tug the rope once the creature grabbed the food. It was slowly circling around the trap, wary as expected, but the appeal of the free meal was slowly getting to the loatoa. Tytus was amused as the feline stuck out a tentative paw towards the net before pulling back. Such a tease. He thought quietly to himself before the loatoa finally moved forward again.

Just a few more seconds and he could pull the rope...Tytus leaned forward itching with anticipation. He had this!

Koril couldn't stop grinning. Watching the little creatures antics.. it was just too cute! Terrified of making some sort of mistake, he hugged the branch he was on with his arms and legs. If he shifted and snapped a twig, or if he make too much noise, or if he fell... His gaze darted between Tytus and the laotoa. The anticipation alone was driving him crazy!!

Tytus couldn't help grinning at Koril's own excitement. At least he wasn't alone in feeling so hyped over this! And then finally as Tytus glanced back towards the loatoa he decided that it was time to move. As the loatoa nosed its way to the food Tytus gave it a few moments to actually gain a few bites before his fingers curled around the rope. One, two, three, and go! Tugging with all of his strength Tytus watched as the net shot up from the ground. Dust and grass flew through the air while he had to wait with baited breath. Had it worked? Tytus leaned forward from his perch and let out a whooping laugh as he saw the loatoa, safe but stunned, instead of the net.

"Mission success! Now to move onto part two...getting it out of the net and not getting mauled." Joked Tytus before he began his descent down the tree. He wanted to get a good look at the furry creature first. Maybe if my perzi had some fur this could be its look... At the thought he glanced over at Koril, "What do you think? It's cute, right?"

Koril held his breath. Almost... Almost... The sudden movement of the net surprised Koril despite his knowledge of what was to come. Jumping in place, he yelped and slid down, gripping at the trunk with his arms while his legs dangled. Laughing, he dropped down to the ground and walked over to the net. "It's super cute!" he crooned, leaning in toward the net. "I wish I had one. I might get one later."

With the ruckus, Flana jumped upright and hopped over the bushes, her nose twitching as she investigated the new scent.
