Almandine went back to looking bemused. "What sort of banter is interesting when most of the conversation seems to be centered around what's the weather like? I mean," he amended, after a moment's thought, "I suppose that if you're doing that whole...thing where you try not to be interested, but I've never seen the appeal of that."

His fingers moved in a complicated pattern that almost resembled piano playing across the top of his thigh. Arachne was supposedly meant to be on the wrong side of the war as well, but he didn't seem particularly bloodthirsty or unpleasant. He was talking, after all, to Almandine as if it was just a normal, every day occurrence.

"So...wanting sex versus wanting to have an actual relationship with someone," said Almandine slowly, still frowning, because this concept was something utterly foreign to him. He tilted his head to the side, long ponytail sliding across his back.

"You don't seem evil to me, either."

"I'm entirely with you on that one. How are you supposed to get what you want if you're pretending like you don't want it?" Arachne, or Lysander, had never been shy about telling someone they wanted them. Probably a product of his upbringing but it always worked out better. Got you in someone's pants better too when that's all you were interested in.

Arachne reached out and picked up the end of Alma's ponytail, still finding it interesting that it was so long, to slide his fingers through it. "That's cause I'm not evil."

"Some people just want sex and no relationship, some people want a relationship with no sex, some people want both, and some can have it either way. It's complicated. But you have a frown on your face like that's a weird idea."

The corners of his lips twitched into what was almost a smile; it looked as though it wasn't something that was done often. "Well, there's something that we agree on, so neither one of us can be considered that bad, right? Or that evil, I suppose," Almandine corrected himself.

He made no motion to move away as Arachne's fingers slid through his hair, Almandine blinking at him.

"What do you want?" he asked, and the question was entirely curious, not flirtatious; a legitimate question intended to have a legitimate answer. "It's not a weird thing, it's just not something I'm used to at all, so I have little experience with the whole matter."

"Somewhere in that nice gray middle so many people find themselves in." It was easier to see the whole thing in shades of gray rather than the black and white some people saw it as.

Almandine's question though made him pause. His usual response to that sort of question would be some silly flirtation and more of that 'banter' the other man didn't like. So instead he figured he'd go for the straightforward response.

"Right now? I'd very much like to kiss you. That smile of yours is way too tempting."

"Everything is gray," Almandine informed him, the bells jingling a little as a stray gust of wind ghosted through. "Except that very few people actually see it that way, which admittedly puts a damper on things, but there's not a whole lot to be done about that. People don't change unless they want to change."

Arachne's response was not what had been expected. Almandine stared at him, brows furrowing together, trying to figure out what part of the puzzle he was missing; what piece had disappeared when he had been trying to figure everything else out.

"Me?" said Almandine, and then frowned.

"Why me?"

Arachne laughed softly, reaching up to run his fingers over the flowers in Almandine's hair. "Because you're cute and intelligent and I'm weak against cute and intelligent guys."

He was weak to a lot of guys if he was honest but at least Almandine was a lot less dangerous than the sort of guy's he'd been going after lately. He actually was a decent person even if he was on the wrong side.

"Never had someone want to kiss you before?"

He did not understand, mostly because Almandine was relatively sure that he was none of these things, except the intelligent thing. He gave Arachne a look that indicated as much, brows still furrowed together, his expression one of bemusement.

"No," he answered truthfully. "It's not all that surprising, I don't suppose I'm that great when it comes to potential kissing partners."

"How do you know you're not if you haven't tried it?" Arachne raised a brow as he grinned at the other senshi. "Some people are just naturals at it ... and sometimes it's not the talent. It's who you're kissing."

Lysander had kissed plenty of people who weren't 'good' at kissing but had made up for it by being someone he really wanted to be kissing.

Almandine half shrugged, but the question, he supposed, was a fair one. He gave Arachne a curious look, his head still tilted to the side as though trying to figure out a puzzle that still had one piece missing - which frankly, it did, in his mind.

"...all right," he said, after a long moment.

Arachne shifted to step closer to the other senshi, the fingers that had been playing with his flowers sliding back around Almandine's head to rest against the back of his neck. "That's exactly what I'm talking about. Way too cute." The other senshi's whole 'i don't understand' thing was too hard to resist.

Keeping his movements slow and careful, in case Almandine changed his mind, Arachne leaned in and pressed their lips together. There wasn't any reason to do anything other than a simple chaste kiss for now.

He still very much did not understand the cute thing. Arachne's hand was warm against the back of his neck, surprisingly gentle, even as he tugged him carefully forward. Almandine felt the first, peculiar fluttering in his chest just before Arachne's lips pressed against his own, his eyes falling instinctively shut.

It was just that - just a press of lips - but it wasn't terrible. Almandine remained still, but after a few seconds, eased somewhat, not quite kissing back, but not pulling away.

It wasn't bad. It was - warm. And altogether rather sweet, frankly.

When the other man relaxed a bit Arachne tilted his head, pressing a bit further into the kiss for a moment. His fingers played with the hair at the base of the other man's neck, wishing he didn't have gloves on so he could actually feel his skin.

He didn't keep up the press of lips long since he didn't want to push too far and make Almandine regret it.

Pulling back a bit so their noses just brushed he grinned. "Not so bad, hm?"

It really had not been so bad after all. Almandine looked at Arachne curiously, the feel of gloved fingers fluttering against the back of his neck making a strange fluttery sensation curl down his spine and into the pit of his stomach.

"Not so bad," Almandine agreed, then added, "I thought kissing was more than that, though."

"It can be. Lots of different ways to kiss someone but if you're thinking about what you see in movies or on tv? Those are usually played up for effect." Not that those sorts of kisses were fake but sometimes they were a little silly.

"I could show you some others, or..." His other hand came up to brush along the other man's jaw. "You could show me what you think kissing is?"

"Oh." Almandine thought this over for a moment, musing even as Arachne's fingers smoothed along his jaw. That too felt rather pleasant; a soft and sweet caress that made him want to instinctively tilt his head closer to the touch, rather than away from it.

His gaze flickered to Arachne's mouth, so near to his. Both of Almandine's arms were still at his sides; he let his eyes move back up to Arachne's own.

"I think it would be more informative if you showed me," he said truthfully. "Examples are always necessary. Besides, like I said; I have no experience in the matter at all, it likely wouldn't go well."
