Xarnith blinked as he asked the obvious. "What do I do with it till then?" he felt sweat trickle down the back of his neck as the lobster seemed to stare him down. He knew they had a spare empty wicker basket. He glanced quickly around, grabbing it. Dropping the beast inside then promptly sealed it. "Right...putting it in there for a few minutes shouldn't be too bad..."

Bisera turned to look over his shoulder at Xarnith, his eyes going a bit wide, "Oh! Well... truth be told I didn't think you would catch it so quickly. I had such a time with roping the thing and tying it out..." Then again the two of them were very different people with very different skill sets, weren't they? It wasn't really all that hard to believe that Xarnith was able to catch the lobster that he'd struggled to even rope. Giving a smile he said, "I... guess we can just keep an eye on it for now? Just until the water boils?" Luckily for the two of them as well as the lobster Xarnith was able to come up with a better idea. He went about putting it inside of one of their baskets for the time being instead of just standing there holding it. Giving a smile he said, "That works! I will keep and eye on the water and once it's boiling we can toss the lobster in!" Motioning to a large, flat rock he asked, "Can you drag that closer to the fire? We will lay the clams out on that to cook. I was told to leave them on it until they pop open, then a bit longer after that. If they don't pop that means they are bad and tossed. You don't want to eat those ones." Giving a happy sound he said, "I learned a lot about cooking the stuff that's found around here because I... umm..." He trailed off, shook his head, and went to fetch the clams while Xarnith got the rock for him.

Xarnith smiled warmly at the other. "I'm glad your seeking out knowledge for yourself, Bisera." it would be good if the other could function on his own. For when...he blinked. For when Bisera eventually got tired of him and left. He kept his smile however. Not wanting to guilt the other somehow. He stretched back. "So..." He fetched the rock. Moving it to where Bisera needed it. "Were you okay with us sharing a bed roll?" Since they hadn't been able to secure a second once after his uncle left.

"I guess that we will see how it goes as I go forward." He could always gather a ton of knowledge but at the same time he knew that he would forgo all of it when he went to work doing his normal job. He'd get lost in it as he always did he was sure. He could only hope that Xarnith wouldn't get too upset with him doing that. He knew that he was a bit of a pain when he was in 'work mode' after all, just as his father before him acted. They were really similar in that manner and he found that Xarnith played for Bisera the part that Bi's mom played for his father. He wondered if that meant that he was going down a path similar to his father then? Not only a similar field of work but he had a guardian of sorts to take care of him as well. An interesting thought, especially given how serious his parents were about one another. Did that mean he could find the same sort of relationship with Xarnith? Something he found himself debating on as he started to lay the clams out on the flat rock to cook since the rock was sure to heat up quickly. Turning to look over at Xarnith he starred at him for a long moment given the question posed to him... then turned away. Giving a humming sound he said, "I... should ask you the same. Surely it must be harder for you then it is for me?"

Xarnith tilted his head as he watched the other. Maybe he shouldn't doubt his relationship with the other. He smiled softly. "I think with all the training I did today. I might nap after eating. Care to join me?" He was honestly offering. His eyes wandering over to the bedroll nearby. He was feeling his training from earlier set in. With what he planned to attempt later he was going to need rest as well. He wanted to get Bisera a beast to help with fishing...

Bisera starred at Xarnith for a long moment, wondering about that. Not the best answer since it was confusing. Did that mean that he didn't mind sharing with him? Or did he mind and he didn't really want to come out and say as much? It was hard to say. He was giving him an invitation so maybe he didn't mind...? He had to admit that at the moment he was confused as to how to answer, as such he shook his head and said, "Thank you, but no. Once our meal is done I will be setting to work on some pieces. I told the one that is helping me learn cook and swim that I would make her some things for her daughters." Giving him a smile he said, "You should get a nap though if you're tired. I know that you work hard." Especially when it came to chasing Bisera around when he got distracted with searching for materials. He knew that he could wander off pretty far when he was searching for various things. It seemed driftwood was the one that caused him to travel the furthest in fact. "The Matori really are a beautiful people so it's fun to make things for them to wear." He was sure that Xarnith knew that since he'd have a Matori lover in the past, huh? Not that such a thing bothered him or anything. It was just something that came to mind as he thought about beautiful they were. He found himself thinking for a moment about Mano, about his confidence, and about how nice looking he was. He'd be an interesting one to try to make a piece for though Bisera felt that he might see it as a come on or something. Best that he stuck to working his actual work instead of risking such a thing.

Xarnith nodded. "They do have their own charm, I would agree with that. Though. I prefer you over others." he said the last bit while awkwardly looking down to Fractis. The prezi slowly hung its head as if calling its master an idiot. Xarnith made a sound before picking at the frayed foot wraps of his bodysuit. He thought over how to alter it more to his liking now that they were in a new place. Was Bisera thinking of Mano? Was the other upset with him? He let his mind start to overthink those questions before he heard the rattle of the basket. "Can I drop the agitated thing in the water yet?"

Bisera gave a nod of his head before he moved to look into the cook pot that he had over the fire, watching it for a moment, before he said, "Yeah, it looks like it's time to toss the lobster in. I will get the lid for the cook pot and hold it at the ready. Once you toss the lobster in I will put the lid on and then we wait until it's ready to go. It shouldn't take too long for both the lobster and the clams to be ready." It was something that he hoped went well because he wanted the first meal that he made for Xarnith to be a good one. He'd already broken his rule about doing everything himself so he could only hope that everything he had done went well. After fetching the lid to the pot he turned to Xarnith and motioned for him to do the deed. There was a small part of Bisera that felt a little guilty for cooking up the lobster in this manner but it had to be done. How else was he supposed to feed Xarnith after all? The ocean gave them plenty of food to work with he was told and there were just certain ways to go about cooking everything. Sometimes it might seem a little mean but it was just the way of things. At least that was what he was told. "Any time you're ready." He said to Xarnith, motioning to him to go forward.

Xarnith was glad to drop the creature into the water. Being a hunter he understood that the strong hunted the weak. Sadly that meant that he would have to do things like this. Though watching the thing snap at his jeweler made him a bit more vindictive. As he gladly dropped it into the water. "There we are." He leaned back on the heel of one hand as he watched Bisera. "This seems like its going to be good." he smiled.

Bisera was quick to put the lid on the pot, holding it in place for a ten count, before he released it. The lobster wouldn't try to escape any longer now that it had been cooked into submission he supposed. It didn't really take all that long before he could already smell it cooking and he couldn't help but to drool just a little. That smelled really great, huh? He starred at the pot for a moment before shaking his head, "Ah! I want to dig in already though I know we have to wait the allotted time." As much as he wanted to dig in he knew that he had to focus! He couldn't let himself get distracted by the scent and take it out too early. Turning his attention instead to the clams he watched them, giving a smile as they started to pop open before they continued to cook in their shells. Once they opened up he dug into his pack to get out some spices and some Matori salt and set to sprinkling the stuff on the clam meat, "These will be ready to eat very soon! We will need some forks though." Something he also went to work digging out of his pack, handing one of them over to Xarnith to use later.

Xarnith chuckled at his jeweler. "Uh huh...I agree I can't wait to try this. First time I would have this sort of meal that was for sure." Matorian's ate differently than he was used to. Stews and quick meals mostly. Taking the time to enjoy it was rather...rewarding. In its own way. He smiled over at Bisera.

It didn't take long before Bisera was losing himself in his work. This time though instead of jewel crafting he was losing himself in the cooking process. He was focused completely on watching the clams to make sure that they didn't over cook as well as keeping in mind exactly when the lobster had gone in. After a certain time he got himself one of the drift wood sticks that he'd collected, using it to pull the clams away from the hottest part of the rock to the cooler side. From there he then opened up the pot, used the stick to hook and scoop up the lobster, and put it on the cooler side of the rock as well. Once everything had been arranged and he looked it all over, certain that it was all ready, he gave a sigh of relief. He was worried, really worried, that it would somehow be messed up. Instead it looked like what the one teaching him had cooked. Here was to hoping that it tasted as he good he thought to himself before turning his dark eyes toward Xarnith, giving the other man a smile, "It's all ready then. Do you want to dig in once it cools off a bit? The sooner we eat the sooner you can get your nap." They had some trees in the area that he could sleep under, trees that would shade him and keep him from getting too sun burned during his time of rest. Before he packed up up and sent him off to nap though they would eat. "You can have first pick of the clams if you like. You are a lot bigger then me so you need a lot more food to keep you going."

Xarnith warily picked a clam with his fork. Since he had never truly eaten seafood before the youth would be somewhat cautious. As he nibbled at it he hummed, a little surprised. It was really good. He nodded. "I like this..." He poked at the lobster. "How are we going to open this?"

After a moment of watching Xarnith, Bisera's eyes seem to light up. So he liked it then? Good, good! That meant that he'd done everything right as far as cooking the strange creatures went! That meant that now they were good for more then just catching to see if they had pearls! They were also useful as a source of food, food that Bisera now knew he'd be able to cook for the two of them. Giving a smile he turned to take a bite of one of the clams himself, giving a smile as he did so. Xarnith was right, it did taste good. Turning to look toward Xarnith first, then the lobster, he said, "Oh! That one is easy." He looked around the area before he got up, using a stick to fish a rock out of the cook pot that he'd put in earlier, "I needed to boil this to make sure it was clean." Once he was able to safely get the rock out, holding it with a piece of cloth to keep from being burned he said, "We just have to use this to smash the shell open so that we can get to the meat inside. Umm... did you want to do the honors? You're a bit stronger then me so you would likely be a bit better at smashing then I am." In fact he would say that he would likely be poor at such a thing since it likely involved a lot of physical strength to pull off a good shell smash. Motioning to the lobster with the rock he held Bisera said, "It's the claws and tail that we're supposed to eat, so just break into those bits."

Xarnith smiled as he took the rock. Easily breaking open the shell after he looked it over for the weak points. Finding them was easy, striking with the rock at the right angle to avoid wasting the meat was a good challenge. Once he had managed to crack it right. The youth started to carve the meat out for both of them. "Here..." He enjoyed his meal with Bisera, leaning in to give the other a soft peck on the temple in thanks. "Thank you for the meal, it was good. Nap and then lets see about fishing for some provisions for later." He stretched out. Crawling to the bedroll he laid out on his side...dozing off...
