Owen looked at Sam when Katrina requested that they unhook Andrea. He was clearly skeptical about removing the one thing really keeping her alive. Sam seemed unsure as well but ultimately nodded and agreement and Owen waved his hand towards Andrea. The various machines connects to her began to disconnect and Owen stepped out of the room. "Sam, don't start another fight. I'll be in the living room." Owen didn't want to stay around the healer longer than he needed to. He could bare to keep looking at her face. It was one of his greater internal conflicts. He had to trust the healer would do what Sam said she could. Sam however, remained in the room.

Katrina Knight

Minerva✬The Doctor

Damn. She could have used the telekinetic’s help. Other than that, Katrina didn’t give his leaving much thought. She had more important things to deal with. Almost as soon as Owen disconnected Andrea she began to struggle for air, even unconscious as she was. It was actually hard to watch. Though Owen suddenly unhooking the machines without a word of warning caught Katrina off guard – she had expected him to at least let her get set up and say she was ready – the healer quickly moved into action, walking quickly yet calmly to Andrea. There was a momentary internal debate. Did she devote part of her power to restraining the injured woman, or put it all towards healing? Eventually she decided on healing, stood behind Andrea and placed both hands to either side of the struggling woman’s head. Sam probably already knew holding her head wasn’t necessary for healing, but the reasoning for this and for Katrina asking for all of the machines to be removed would become clear quickly enough.

Katrina took on a blank look, her eyes unfocused and unseeing. For a few seconds nothing seemed to happen as Katrina used her powers to assess the damage and debate how to go about this. Where to even begin? The eyes were least life threatening, yet her experience with most people lead to her believe she wouldn’t want to live if she couldn’t see so she did that first. Next came the foot since she was equally sure she wouldn’t want to live if she couldn’t walk. The infection was cleared out and burnt nerves were repaired, causing her foot to spasm and twitch. Blackened skin was replaced with healthy skin as the wound closed on its own. She cleared the infection from her lungs and finally Andrea was able to breath with relative ease. That left the shoulder and the back and Katrina could already feel herself weakening. She decided to heal the back first, hoping with the body wrapped in a new layer of skin, it might be able to deal with the shoulder on its own if she couldn’t go on.

The back was where all nerves connected to the spine and the acid had damaged many of them. As Katrina repaired them Andrea spasmed uncontrollably, arms and legs flailing as the reattached and repaired nerves misfired. This was why she needed the equipment out of the way. Andrea would have been likely to rip anything attached to her out and cause more damage. It was also why she had chosen to hold her head. New skin stretched across her back and Katrina could feel blood dripping down her nose. Not now, she thought, but pressed onto the shoulder. She would never finish though. While she managed to repair most of the internal damage Katrina’s eyes rolled back and she collapsed to the floor before she could close the wound. Her eyes and ears had also started bleeding, but otherwise she seemed more or less fine. And Andrea, though still unconscious, was easily breathing on her own and seemed much better.

"Owen!" Sam shouted for his brother only a few moments before the healer began to collapse. Owen, who had not gone very far, made it back into the room in time to catch the healer with his powers and slowly lower her into a laying position. Sam ran to Andrea's bedside to check on her. He quickly established a mental link and then, once he had determined she was a lot better, he disconnected. "Andrea is stable. I don't know about the healer." Sam reported as he moved over to her and knelt down. He felt for a pulse and when he found one he let out a relieved breath. He looked to Owen who seemed a little nervous and gave a reassuring nod. "She'll be fine too."

"Good. She can finish when she wakes up." Owen spoke harshly and turned to leave but Sam appeared between him and the doorway. "Sam, you're standing in the way."

"That's it? No gratitude for what she did for us. Owen I know it's hard for you but you don't have to be an a**-"

"She's not awake to hear it. So it doesn't matter." Owen responded coldly as he moved around Sam and out the door. He walked down the stairs and back into the living room to find Sam waiting for him with the healer on the couch still unconscious.

"Owen, I get it. She looks like Alice and you're trying to stay distant but-"

"No. There is no 'but.' I stay distant and everything works. I get close and this gets complicated. She isn't Alice. She isn't the woman I loved. The fact that she looks like her doesn't mean anything."

"It means everything! Alice did not have a twin, and nobody looks that similar to someone. Owen something is going on here. She refused to help, she wouldn't even shake my hand. She was on edge every second I stood outside her door and if I hadn't forced her to come here, she wouldn't have left her house. Owen she is hiding from someone or something!"

"It is not our job to pull shut ins out of their homes. Some people are perfectly happy without the outside world-"

"Listen to yourself! If this was anyone else you'd be interested! She was afraid of me! Afraid to leave her house and come with me. You're blinded by your desire to stay away from her! Owen we have a case here. Something is going on and you're too afraid to look into it!"

"Maybe I am, but the decision is still mine to make. She'll finish her job and we will let her go."

"No, it's not your decision anymore. We are a team and now Andrea can vote again. If she agrees with me, we are looking into it. You're just gonna have to live with that." Without another word, Sam disappeared. He had teleported back into the room with Andrea to watch over her and he left Owen downstairs with the healer. Owen let out angry sigh and looked at the unconscious woman. He hated seeing her because of who she reminded him of. It wasn't even the fact that she was identical to Alice, it was the fact that she had the same voice. The same inflection in her words. Still for all his hate towards the situation, she did look identical to a woman he loved. Against all his better thoughts, Owen grabbed a blanket and set it over Katrina then he sat down in the chair beside the couch and began reading over some of the information that he had compiled about her while he was waiting for Sam to bring her to the house. If he was going to be forced to work with her, he was going to be well informed. He didn't know how long it would be before the two girls woke but he had plenty to read and if they both slept through his reading, he would go look for more information on Katrina Knight. A woman who seemed to have come out of no where rather recently.

Andrea was the first to wake up. Healed and no longer receiving the anesthetic, it took roughly four hours for the remainders of the drug to leave her system. The world was met with groggy confusion when her eyes flickered open for the first time in several days. Eyes that searched the ceiling for many moments before it seemed to click. "I can see.” Her voice came out raspy, though the wonder and disbelief was still there. While the IV kept her hydrated, it still had been sometime since she had anything physically to drink leaving her throat dry. Excitement overruled any desire for water though and Andrea quickly sat up, hastily examining her own body. The only source of pain came from her shoulder, but it was minor compared to what she had just gone through. She’d have to find a mirror to look at back, but everything seemed fine. It was only after all of that, that she finally looked at the rest of her surroundings and saw a complete stranger sitting in her room. “You must be Sam.”

Sam was sitting in the same spot he had been sitting the first time Andrea woke up only this time at least, she was fine. "I am." He said simply before sitting back slightly and looking out the open doorway. "We found a healer but, uh, its a little complicated. Owen is downstairs with the healer." Sam was glad that Andrea had recovered but he was a little more concerned with the woman who had healed her. He meant what he had said to Owen and when Andrea had a little more time to process things he would explain his theory to her. For the mean time, he figured he should at least warn her. "When you see the healer, try not to say anything. She looked like Alice. You know who Alice was right?"

She grinned in a most un-Andrea like fashion when the man in the room confirmed that he was indeed Sam. After everything she had gone through, to wake up almost perfectly fine she was actually feeling quite giddy. That this man had spent unknown hours with her, yet she had to ask who he was was inexplicably funny to her, though she did recognize his voice as soon as he did speak. So much that even bringing up Owen only ruined her good mood a little. “Of course it is. Owen makes everything complicated.” Andrea complained with an eye roll, wondering what the problem could possibly be. She felt fine. Had recovered more than she had ever dreamed she would. They should give the healer a million dollars and be on their way. “He’s seriously hung up on some chick who resembles his ex-girlfriend?” She asked with no small amount of incredulity.

Sam smiled and then laughed quietly. He'd have high-fived her if he didn't think it would hurt her shoulder. "He does!" Sam agreed before settling himself and moving onto the topic of the healer. He may have undersold it. "Well it's not that she just resembles her. " Sam disappeared and then reappeared a few seconds later holding a photo of Owen's old team. He tossed it to Andrea and then reached in his pocket and pulled out his phone where he pulled up the photo of Katrina that he had taken as part of her file for Owen. Once she had the photo, he tossed his phone so that she could see. Owen had just put the photos in the Stable, not really hiding them. "Resembles is an underwhelming word."

“Damn.” Andrea looked from the old team photo Sam had tossed to her to the picture on his phone. Alright maybe she could forgive Owen a little bit for being hung up on this chick. “That’s not natural. So what’s the theory? Some kind of shape shifter? Someone trying to mess with the Horsemen again?” She asked all at once, trying to get caught up on how much Sam and Owen had managed to dig up on this Alice doppelganger while she had been out. Obviously something was going on here so she expected them to have something.

"No working theory. Owen almost didn't agree to let her heal you so I didn't want to push it. Well I did push it and he tried to shut me down. Whatever it is, he doesn't want to know. I doubt she is a shifter, not after seeing what powers she had. And I don't think it is someone trying to mess with us because I had to look very hard to find her. I don't know what that leaves but we have time. Just focus on getting better. I'll try to focus on getting Owen to look into the healer." Little did Sam know, he wouldn't have to say anything more than he already had. Owen had questions now that he wanted answers too and he would find those answers. He hated seeing Katrina but it made him wonder and that wonder made it worse because he knew he would need to see Katrina more. Sam, well Sam just thought it was odd and wanted to know. Owen was more personally attached.

There were a few seconds of silence after Sam finished speaking before Andrea said anything. “He. Didn’t. Want. To. Let. Her. Heal. Me.” She repeated slowly, all the earlier joy and giddiness suddenly evaporating. Bad enough that she had asked him to help her catch the Waxman and he had refused, telling her to solve it on her own. Bad enough that she had gotten captured and tortured trying to follow his no killing rule. Bad enough that every time she woke it was Sam in her room, a man she had never met until her rescue, and Owen was nowhere to be found. Bad enough that Sam alone did all of the work to find the healer in the first place. On top of all of that, he had actively tried to prevent her being healed. Andrea didn’t say another word, throwing her blankets aside, teeth clenched in hardly contained rage. She went to stand, but no amount of rage could keep her upright. After lying in bed dying for so long, sudden vertigo took her and her legs collapsed underneath her. Something that didn’t improve her mood at all. “Bring Owen up here now.”

"He was convinced he could find a healer with Oly- you know what? Screw it. This will be funny. Go ahead and try to yell at the landlord." It wasn't as if Sam hadn't tried. Sam actively tried to beat the hell out of Owen at least twice now so he didn't expect anything Andrea did to be all that damaging but he sure as hell wasn't going to go and get Owen. This wasn't exactly his problem. So instead he shouted "Owen!" and then waited for the man to arrive. It didn't take longer than about a minute and when he saw Andrea, Owen's face visually relaxed for a moment. He was clearly happy to see she was awake but the relaxed expression returned to his usual one when he remembered to put up the mask over his emotions again.

"It's good to see you are awake." Owen said simply. What else could he say? Nothing that would make Andrea happy. And if she blew up on him, he would have nothing to make her feel better.

Yelling wasn't exactly what Andrea had in mind, at least not from the outset, though that might change depending on how this conversation went. Her father had taught her a few lessons about acting without all of the information and lashing out in anger. Still the rage she felt now was unlike anything she had experienced in the past."Sam says you didn't want to let the healer heal me." She stated simply and coldly. His words did nothing to improve her mood. At best he had done nothing to ensure so work up. At worst he had actively tried to prevent it.

"Not this one. There are plenty of other healers in the world. We shouldn't have needed one with so many strings." He hear the coldness in her voice and it did not amuse him. She had no right to be angry with him. Not after the things he had done for her. The things he had provided. Sam had always been sitting there when she woke up, Owen had always been away. He provided what she needed. Medicine to keep the pain down. Sam provided commentary. So he didn't appreciate the tone she took.

“So why didn’t you go get one with less strings if they are so plentiful? What took you so long to get this one?” Andrea returned. She didn’t actually know what day it was, or how much time had passed since running into the Waxman, but she had a general understanding that it had been a decent amount of time. The last time she had woken up, when they had put the respirator on her because she couldn’t breathe on her own anymore, she had been fairly certain that was the last time she would wake up.

"Between getting you medicine, keeping the life support running, and following leads on the Criss-Cross murder I didn't have a lot of time to look for healers. That is why I had Sam running the search. After far too long he brought me her. I didn't have the time to find anyone else." Owen cast a look at Sam who held up his hands in surrender. Sam had to admit that when he found Katrina first, he had been fascinated by who she appeared to be and that had given him tunnel vision. Then he took far too long making sure she was good at what she did and time forced Owen's hand.
