Artemis walked into the house and headed into the kitchen. "Tea would be fine. I never was big into coffee. You should have seen me when I tried it as a kid. My mom let me try it and I ended up spitting it out on the floor. She wasn't too happy about that. I spent a few days without tv." He smiled and sat down in a nearby chair. "I haven't thought about my parents in a long time."

Artemis smiled and nodded. "Alright. What exactly were you thinking Shaline? Something tells me that she will love anything you come up with. And I will help in any way that I can." No matter what happened, he wanted to make sure that La'ella was happy. It was something that brought his mind peace for the time being. 'I have to keep my calm if I want to help Rayne.'

Shaline thought for a second."Well first things first, I want to switch out one of the beds in one of the guest rooms with the two twin beds in the room La'ella chose. I'll put those back in the room. And the chest of drawers from that room as well. I don't want to put them into place more like leave them in the center so we can paint the room."She heard the kettle go off and walked over and poured the water into the mugs and placed a basket with different kinds of hot tea out for Artemis to choose from."I know it's gonna be hard for La'ella to adjust, but I am hoping that at least having her involved with the room might make her feel a little more welcome."Shaline grabbed a tea bag from the basket and then walked over with the mug of hot water and sat it in front of Artemis.

Artemis finished making his tea and took a small sip. "It might work better to move everything out of the room and then paint. I'll admit that I'm not the best when it comes to painting. Well, you could say that I tend to get a little messy." He laughed a little and smiled. "Yeah. It would be better to paint when there is nothing in the room."

She hadn't thought about leaving the furniture out of the room to paint."Well, then we could at least paint a base coat of white so it would be easy to paint over when La'ella picks what color she wants her room. All the walls are a light grey or light yellow."At this point, she was trying to make excuses to spend time with Artemis. He seemed happier when he wasn't thinking too much on rescuing Rayne. Not that it was a bad thing to think about, but he always became distant when he did, and she liked this side of him...enough to make her purr."And I don't know how to paint rooms. I only know what I've seen on TV and in movies. Back in Eorzea, we used wallpaper like it was going out of style. No one paints their walls. The only thing that we have that is even remotely close to paint is our dyes."Shaline took a sip of her tea and smiled."So I guess I will have to learn the hard way, and what not to do."

Artemis nodded and took another sip of his tea. "Don't worry Shaline. I know how to paint. Knowing how and actually being good at it are two different things. We'll just have to lay something on the floor. It will make for easy cleanup later." It had been a while since he had felt such happiness. 'It's nice to be able to smile again. I don't know what it is, but Shaline has a way of making me happy.'

Shaline smiled and finished her tea."What kind of thing do you usually place on the floor? I may have it and I may not, but I guess the best place to start is clearing out the room. I think I might also have stored some crafting supplies in that closet. Probably just some leathers or fabrics. Those could probably be moved to my room...."Shaline thought about the leathers. Maybe she could make a nice dress for La'ella with some nice leather accents...."Oh and you can just leave your cup in the sink. I'm going to go start cleaning out the closet."Shaline stood up and placed her cup in the sink and made her way to the room, making sure to leave the door open so Artemis could find it when he was finished. She opened the closet. Most of what was on the floor were bolts of Cotton Fabric and Velveteen Fabric. Mostly undyed, but she had a few dyed bolts as well. She decided to start with the top shelf and as she pulled off what was probably a circle of leather, things came crashing down, and a ball of yarn found it's way off the shelf."MEROW!"She let go of what was falling and pounced after the ball of yarn that bounced out of the closet, off the bed, and into the hallway. She was mewing with every bounce that she pounced.

Artemis finished up his tea and placed the cup in the sink. "You can put down things like trash bags or anything you don't mind getting paint on." Before he could say anything else, he heard something fall and went to investigate. Upon seeing Shaline, he couldn't help but chuckle. "And the cat kicks in. Does this happen a lot Shaline? It's kind of adorable. Do you always choose this type of yarn or pick something totally random? The world may never know."

Shaline had just grabbed the ball of yarn when she heard a chuckle...and she turned bright red."It....It only happens when I am not expecting it.....I didn't know this.....ball of yarn....was in there...."Shaline was embarrassed for sure, but it sort of made her happy that he laughed of sorts."And....I have....plenty of trash bags...."Shaline turned back into the room, keeping her ears flat and trying to hide her face, gathering the leathers that were on the floor that had fallen."These things in this closet can go to the room at the end of the hall...my room."She dared to look at Artemis as she spoke. Her face not as red but had a slight pout to it, thanks to her flat ears.

Artemis smiled and started packing things to Shaline's room. When he returned to the other room, he placed a hand on Shaline's shoulder. "You don't have to be embarrassed Shaline. I don't mind one bit and I'm sorry for joking around. Besides, I find it to be quite adorable."'It's nice to have someone to joke around with. Rune was right all along. I really do need to open up more. Spending time with Shaline is giving me a lot more confidence. I know that Rayne will be alright.'

I really haven't been called adorable by anyone other than my father....so....it's a bit strange, but I think I can get used to it."Shaline was carrying some rolls of fabric, some had a particular rainbow sheen to them."I like it when you smile....it makes you look cute."Shaline had taken a few steps when she realized what she said and her ears stood up on end and her pace instantly halted.'Shal! What the were you thinking? Cute? How could I let my thoughts slip like that?'Her ears were tuned into him waiting for his response.

Artemis chuckled a little and picked up a few more things, following behind Shaline. "I'm glad to hear that Shaline. It never hurts to tell someone how you feel. Talking is a great way to help people feel better. You taught me that." He smiled and stepped up beside her. "We should get back to work."

Shaline mentally sighed in relief. Maybe he didn't catch what she said.....and another thing, why was she so nervous about it? Shaline nodded and started walking again."So besides painting walls, is there anything crafty that you can do? Like with me, I can make cloth and leather clothes and armor quite easily. I can also make weapons and at least saw some logs into lumber. Oh and I am a pretty good cook as you have already experienced."Shaline tried to make small conversation now as she laid the fabrics on her bed and turned to him. She thought about how they were going to get the beds out next.
