"Things get simpler more, what did you call Corvus, rustic?" He smirked sightly as he looked over at the knight. "Homes of those who grow flowers we export, farmers, may artists live outside the city as well." He knew what was out there but rarely ventured himself outside of trips with his family to the 'countryside'. He was glad the guards following them were mostly keeping out of ear shot knowing what their conversation must sound like. "The palace. I'm sure you are tired from your journey and we both will be expected to show up for dinner." He'd taken the other man on the scenic route from the port so he could at least see more of the city. "I can show you to your room and you can clean up and perhaps before dinner I can introduce you to my fish?"

"Rustic on the outside. When you get down to everything on the inside it's... More like a well-oiled, incredibly well cared for mechanical trap." He snorted softly, finally dropping his hands from behind him so that he could bring one up to brush fingers through his hair. "I would enjoy a chance to clean up before dinner. It's difficult to get a proper bath while on a ship." It would also be nice to get out of his traveling clothes and change into something a little nicer prior to dinner, especially as everything here seemed so much more formal than on Corvus.

"You aren't very far off in that." Corvus was incredible in it's own way and he was glad someone who was at least inquisitive had decided to be one of their transplanted Knights. Aldara would at least keeps things interesting for Mag Mell. "There are plenty of proper baths here." He smiled. They chatted idly the rest of the way to the palace, both relaxed and comfortable as they walked. It had been far too long since he had someone outside of other scribes that he could talk so freely with. Once they were at the palace gates they were let in easily and Jinyue lead he knight through the halls to where the knight would be staying. He paused at one door before pulling it open. "Your room is through here. There is a bath attached to the side."

"Thank you again for your hospitality." He dipped his head into another polite bow, looking to the other man as he righted himself. "When I've cleaned up will the guards help me find my way to the dining hall?" He assumed that the two shadows lurking in the hall would be remaining with him whether he liked it or not.

"I would walk you myself but I have to get changed and have a few words with my father. I will make sure there is someone to walk you to the hall though and that you have a seat with me." He smiled, fingers brushing lightly against Arlen's arm before he bowed his head slightly and turned to head back toward his own room. He was going to have words with his father about the 'guards' and make sure they disappeared. It wasn't fair to make Arlen feel uncomfortable in their home just because there wasn't a long history on him to pull up.

"Until then." he murmured, watching the Senshi of Lanterns as he made his way down the hall until he disappeared around the bend. Once Arsinoe was gone he flashed the guards a broad smile, waggling his fingers in a light wave before slipping into his room. The accommodations were better than he had expected, although he wasn't sure why, given Arsinoe's finery. From his experience with travels, Knights were either shown to the barracks to join other knightly or guarding types, or they were treated like revered guests and shown to an estate room. He generally preferred not to be given any sort of special treatment, but... "I'm not going to say 'no' to a private bath." He unclasped his cloak, lying it carefully across the foot of his bed before removing his shoes. He explored the room for a moment before grabbing his toiletries from his bag so that he could take advantage of that bath to properly clean himself up before it was time to join the Senshi and his family for the evening meal.

Before Jinyue retired to his own rooms to get cleaned up for dinner he stopped by to see his father. He normally didn't argue, going with what his family thought best, but this time he wasn't going to stand for it. The Cosmos knight was his guest and he should be treated like any other knight who was there outside of training. There was a small argument but he refused to back down until his father agreed that the guards could be called off. With that out of the way he headed to his room to bathe and change into something presentable for dinner. He put on one of his favorite robes; deep purple and fuchsia with gold stars embroidered throughout along with a pair of soft leggings. He made sure one of the staff went to fetch Arlen before taking his place at the table, making himself comfortable on one of the cushions and waiting.

Once he cleaned himself up he redressed, wishing he'd had a bit of time to steam some of the wrinkles out of his shirt sleeves. He made due, checking that his cuffs were buttoned twice before readjusting his vest and grabbing his starry cloak. He felt absolutely foolish in his formal wear, but he wanted to show that he could clean up nicely and, maybe, earn the right to be visiting. A light tap on the door caught his attention and he moved to slip into the shoes that had been left by the door, similar to the ones he was used to seeing Arsinoe move about in. He was greeted by someone he assumed was one of the palace servants, flashing her a soft smile before following her to the dining hall.

The servant showed Mag Mell to the dining hall and bowed as he held the door open for the night. The room was filled with quiet chatter and much smaller than the hall on Corvus. The tables were all low to the floor, soft cushions around them so everyone would have somewhere soft to sit. The servant lead Mag Mell back to the table curving along the back wall set aside for the family and took him to a spot next to Sailor Arsinoe who greeted his guest and motioned for him to take a seat. "I hope you enjoyed your bath? And the lack of shadows in the hall on your way here."

He settled onto the cushion next to his friend, hands resting idly on his thighs so he wouldn't accidentally knock anything on the table. The last thing he needed to do was draw more attention to himself than he already had just by entering the hall. "I did. I also enjoyed the soap that was left by the bath. Is that something that all who visit Arsinoe are treated to? Or was that a gift just for me?" His voice was soft as he responded to the other man, hoping to keep the conversation between the two of them.

"I was hoping you'd like that scent." He smiled softly, motioning one of the servants over to pour them both some tea. "The soap itself is common for family guests but I may have had some specific soaps delivered." Jinyue hadn't been sure what sort Arlen would like so he was glad to know it had been appreciated. When the tea had been poured he picked up his cup to take a sip.

"Is there anything I should know about protocols for dinner? Anything Sailor Corvus might not have told me? I would hate to do something out of line," he murmured, leaning over slightly to keep the conversation between the two of them. The walk from his room to the dining hall had been rather pleasant without the shadows following him, but if he stepped out of line there was no saying that no matter what Arsinoe had done they would come back again.

"Don't try to take anything from the staff, let them set it down. Everything else is rather standard." He made sure they were sitting at the end of the table so the knight wouldn't have to worry about bumping into anyone. "And I know most places you take whatever food is given to you but if you're not going to eat something tell the person giving it to you. Its considered more rude to give back a mostly untouched plate." He was rather sure Aldara would have told him everything else. "And relax" he smiled softly.

"So, save trying new things for when I'm on my own wandering through a market and not for when I might leave it behind on my plate." He nodded as he reached for his cup of tea so that he could take a small sip. Once he set the cup down he let his hand rest on his knee beneath the table so he wouldn't be tempted to drum his fingers on the wood. He'd been told on more than one occasion that doing so came off as boredom or impatience. "Relax? Do I seem unrelaxed to you?" His brow lofted slightly as he looked to the Senshi of Lanterns. "Whatever was in the soap seemed to work pretty well with the hot water to create a relaxing atmosphere. What could be so stressful about dinner?"

"You seem nevous. I can see how still you're holding yourself." He was probably reading a little into it but he didn't want Arlen to feel like he was going to mess up and cause a problem. "They should be by with the soup shortly. Them you'll have a distraction."
