"What could be more luxurious than a good book, a soft couch and a warm cup of tea?" Dr. Krista Morhan Krista was sad to hear what the EMT knew about the kid. An underpass it seemed Dexter got relatively frequent calls to where the homeless gathered. “I'm sure Providence would take him in.” After all they still did that kind of thing, even if they were in the middle of waging a war. Whatever else she might have said was interrupted by shouting in the next hall and Krista looked towards the direction the voice was coming from. From the sounds of it someone who wasn't authorized had wondered into the back area where the operating rooms and medical supplies were stored. Perhaps someone with dementia or was hearing impaired based on the way they seemed to be ignoring the nurses shouts. Or at least that was Krista's initial opinion, however things rapidly changed. The female gave a shout of pain and then feel silent. Krista didn't have a clue about what happened, only that help was likely required. "Best keep quiet." The surgeon suggested while heading quickly, yet quietly in the direction of the previous shouting. She wasn't a particularly confrontational type, but nor was she going to walk away and act like she hadn't heard anything. Let hospital security go in guns blazing. She would take the more cautious approach. Krista reached the corner and poked her head around just in time to see the door to one of the supply rooms close. One of the nurses lay on the ground not moving, with a small amount of blood visible on the floor, though it was hard to determine at this distance where the blood was coming from. Did they wait for whoever went into the room to leave, or did they run out there now and try to examine and perhaps move the nurse away before the attacker came back out? From this distance Krista could simply use tendrils to pick the nurse up and bring her too them, but without knowing if her neck was damaged or what other injuries she may have, that could quite possibly cause more harm than good. She looked to Dex. "I am going to go get her." Krista could actually use the EMT's help in this. She was a surgeon who relied on x-rays and other imagining to determine the extent of damage, or a report from an EMT. Dex was likely much better at determining the what harm the woman had come to very quickly, however she wouldn't ask him to risk his life. It was a decision he would need to make on his own. Without another word Krista hurried out to where the nurse lay in the middle of the hallway. Just as she knelt next to the unconscious woman a pair of hospital security guards appeared around the corner with their guns drawn. "Hands in the air, don't move!" One of them shouted, for which Krista obeyed. It wouldn't do any of them any good if she was also shot. "I work here. She needs to be assessed. I saw someone go in there." She answered calmly, while indicating to the door she has seen shut. The two guards conferred for a second before one approached the door and the other radioed for more back up. Jan 27th, 2013

Dex had been just about to reply to Dr. Morhan anout the kid going to providence when a shout could be heard from the hall. Someone seem to have gotten lost. But then came the sound of a fight or scuffle. He followed the doc and noticed the injured nurse. He had head a door close but hat not seen what door it was. "Coming with you , got to be sure she's safe to move." Dex replied moving closer to the nurse with the doc. She definitely had a broken nose, that was the main source of blood bit the bruises starting to form and small cut said she had taken a beating. He was about to check her neck and onward when the security arived. He complied as the doc explained the situation. He still had enough of his EMT uniform to tell who he was. He went back to examining her and found her neck was fine, hopefully security would catch this intruder.

Jayce Sneed Jayce had finally shoved the last of the anesthetic drugs into his duffle bag. The storage room had been wiped clean but the only problem was that a smooth getaway seemed out of the question. The duffle bag wasn't too heavy for Jayce to carry but he was unable to turn objects over five pounds into smoke, which meant Jayce would have to escape the old fashion way. The saying, old habits die hard, definitely applied to Jayce since his previous military training began kicking in. Jayce dropped to his knees and peered under the door of the supply room. Two shadows drew closer to the door. Jayce took the time to listen to the approaching footsteps, he could not see the guards but he could tell by their pace that the two were walking with caution and that they were seconds away from opening the door. Despite being armed, Jayce did not see the need for using his own fire arm especially on the two bumbling guards. Given the situation most would have probably panicked but Jayce seemed calm and collected. After setting the duffle bag on the ground Jayce's body dispersed into a shroud of smoke and shot straight up into the air ducts above. The guards were surprised to find that the supply room was completely empty, especially after they barged in with their guns drawn like cowboys in a western. " Hey lady! I thought you said you saw someone come by this way?" One of the frustrated guards spewed. " Is this some sort of prank because I'm not laughing." The second guard added as he picked up the discarded duffle bag. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, Jayce thought to himself as the guards turned their backs. Before the two security guards could leave the supply closet, Jayce rematerialized above the two. Clasping both hands together, Jayce slammed his fist into the head of one of the guards as he descended. After receiving the sudden blow to the back of the head the guard toppled over. The second guard reached for his gun but Jayce was ready for the man. Jayce grabbed the guard's hand and managed to misdirect the gun away from his sight, he made sure the gun remained pointing upward just in case the guard was stupid enough to fire any stray shots. The security guard tried his best to regain control but Jayce refused. During the truffle Jayce kneed the guard several times in the stomach. Once Jayce gained the upper hand he slammed his elbow into the guards face until he stopped moving. Both guards had been taken out without using lethal force. Jayce immediately reached into the pocket of his leather jacket and retrieved a well deserved cigarette. While Jayce lit his cigarette, he noticed the surgeon and the EMT staring at him from down the hall. Like a true smartass Jayce graciously bowed before the two, as if he had put on a spectacular performance for them. Without any sense of urgency, Jayce retrieved the duffle bag and walked down the hall the way he came, all while taking long drags from his cigarette.

Hikaru was on a trip, perhaps he could find answers here. He had made the journey to find Providence and perhaps a solution to his headaches that always seem to plague him so much. He was looking at a map and walking. Likely not a good idea as he ended plowing right into someone "Oh! I'm so sorry I should watch where I'm going...." Hikaru said with his accented English. It had gotten better but it was still obvious he was not local. hopefully, the man was not mad at him. He too seemed to be on a mission

"What could be more luxurious than a good book, a soft couch and a warm cup of tea?" Dr. Krista Morhan It was clear this man was going to hurt anyone who got in his way. The nurse, the two guards, yet he seemed content to leave herself and Dexter alone to tend to the wounded. One of the security personal had called for backup so more would arrive soon. This left Krista with a decision to make. She could simply let the man go. As long as no one tried to stop him, it seemed like he wouldn’t hurt them. Perhaps backup would be more successful than the first two who had arrived. Even if he escaped they had security cameras so the police could hunt him down. Unfortunately, based on the way he so easily dispatched the first two security guards it seemed like he had a decent amount of training. There was a very real possibility that he would injure more people, possibility even kill someone, if she just let him go. Could she really do that? Would it be a dishonour to Lionel’s memory if she just let him go? He would certainly stop this criminal before he could hurt more people. Slowly Krista stood as the man retreated down the hallway without a care in the world. Six limbs sprouted from her back, black, round and smooth. Hidden openings had been worked into the back of all her shirts for just such an occasion, so she could use her tendrils without ruining all of her shirts. Six limbs flew down the hall and wrapped themselves around the dangerous invader. One firmly grasping each arm, pulling them in opposite directions in the air, two around his waist lifting him into the air and the final two wrapping around both legs, firmly tying them together. "I won't let you harm anyone else."Jan 27th, 2013

Dex kept with the fallen nurse trying to keep her as safe as possible from the assailant who also seemed to be a deviant. There was no way Dex could do anything without hitting the doctor too. His attentions where swiftly grabbed when the nurse started waking up and in a panic. She likely had some injuried internally and she needed to stay still till they can get proper treatment. He more just reacted to makeing sure shes ok by doseing her prettly heavily with is calming power. He also calmed her with words. This one was a bit differant than the one used on the boy. This one was to knock her out again but much more gently than being punched in the face. He didnt really think enough to keep it in close enough so the docter wouldn't sniff it out heck at her distance it might cause slight sleepiness but not enough to knock her out.

『 Ȼɑɼɱεɳ Ϣɼɩʈε 』 Carmen was glad to step into the warmth of the cafe after the cool air outside. It had started lightly snowing at some point during the meeting and the breeze was chilly. She disliked the cold and couldn't wait for summer to roll around once more. Carmen after getting drinks, Carmen found a corner for the pair to sit in, well away from the door that would in a guest of cold every time it was opened, but also so they could see who might be listening to them. Clutching the cup of tea in both hands in hopes of drawing the warmth into her fingers, she looked at the man seated across from her. Where to start? "How much do you know about Mathis and Lexi?" The Englishwoman asked. Of course she knew the little bit about Alvin's family that he had stated in the meeting, but she didn't know what else he knew about the pair. ✨ What if a dream was reality and reality was a dream? 『 Ȼɑɼɱεɳ Ϣɼɩʈε 』 Carmen reached out and put a sympathetic hand on Alvin’s. “I wish there was something I could say to ease your pain.” She told him sincerely. He was already so upset. Was it a good idea to proceed with this conversation? “He truly is a monster. Even when I first met Mathis and he still tried to pretend he wasn’t a monster, but I could always see through him.” She gave a sort of sad sigh and took a sip of her tea. “Lexi was a patient of his back when he still practiced. I never knew what happened in that room, but he did something to her. Twisted her mind. I’m talking full Hannibal Lector. I know how it sounds, how I sound, but you saw it right? The pain in her eyes when you told her what he did to your family? How horrible she felt? I bet you any money the next time you talk to her she’ll defend him and tell you about how it was your own fault. Much like you, I want to give him a taste of his own medicine, but I fear we won’t be dealing with just Mathis alone.” Carmen didn’t want to hurt Lexi. By all accounts she saw her as innocent, manipulated by an evil and cunning man. She didn’t know how to get Lexi away from Mathis either. ✨ What if a dream was reality and reality was a dream? ( LOCATION ) xWalking down the streets of Washington D.C. tab ( FEELS ) x Somewhat on edge. tab ( WEARING ) xOver-sized hoodie and sweatpants. A backpack with her costume and gear in it.
Four per person She thought to herself. One on the chest, one on the back. One on each shoulder. They allowed her to navigate even crowded scenes, like this, with relative ease. If you saw her, you wouldn't know she was blind. If you talked to her, you wouldn't know she was deaf. This was just life for Laura Hebret. The bugs gave her a clear image of how everyone in the crowd within about 50 feet was moving. She could feel the bugs. She could sense their orientation and velocity. She could feel them like normal people can feel their hands and feet. If she wanted to, she could reach out and touch them like normal people can reach up and touch their nose with their eyes closed. They were an extension of her, and she was hyper aware of each and every one of them.
Laura continued through the crowd on her casual stroll. It was cold out. The bugs didn't move as well as they did in the summertime. Those on her body, clothing, and other people were fine, nice and cozy; however, the ones that were out scouting the area were a different story. They weren't gonna die, but their biology wasn't designed to be out like this. They lost too much heat to the environment too quickly. As she continued down the sidewalk, Laura continued collecting more bugs into her swarm. The number of creatures under her control in the hundreds of thousands at this point. She was individually aware of each and every one of them. Each kind, its biology, its status, its position, and its capabilities. She willed them to scout the surrounding areas, giving her a layout of most buildings within a block or two of her. They were mostly offices and restaurants, nothing important. A customer was yelling at a cashier 3 buildings away, although Laura couldn't make out about what. A kid was crying in a candy shop to her south. A couple was making out in the bathroom of a pizza parlor. She hadn't let a bug leave her range in a few hours, and her swarm was getting massive. She had to be careful that people didn't notice the excess insects in the area, or she might draw attention to herself.
Laura made her way to a local cafe, and stepped inside outta the cold, not that she noticed much. A quick scan of the room didn't reveal much. Some people sitting alone, some cooks in the back, a couple in the corner talking about some nonsense drama. Laura leaned forward and closed her eyes, her real eyes for a few seconds. She sensed the waiter approaching, he opened his mouth to get her attention, but Laura preemptively turned and "looked" up at him, much to his surprise. She forgot that she did that sometimes, that she did things that normal people couldn't do. No worry, he wouldn't put anything together.
In the same few seconds that the guy took her drink order something grabbed Laura's attention. The bugs she'd planted on the couple in the corner heard something. Something about transmutation? She "listened" in on the conversation from then on. She realized that she was reacting to what they said with her facial expressions. s**t, if they saw that she thought. The waiter was standing outta the way too. He was obviously weirded out. Her facial expressions hadn't been lining up with what she was saying to him. After a few seconds of contemplation, Laura put it together. The couple were deviants. The bugs in the area immediately began to swarm to her location. The surrounding area, it was liken to having a light-bulb go out. Her awareness of everything in her range, the few blocks of range she did have, went dark. Tens of thousands of bugs gathered within a few seconds flight of her, all the others were set to be quick access should she need them. The panic she was feeling didn't show on her person, it was unconsciously being channeled into the bugs. Everyone here was about to be in serious danger if the couple noticed her, and they had no idea. She continued watching and listening through the bugs in the cafe.

"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo
Several hours had passed since the meeting. It was nearing 8:30 in the evening and Lexi found herself standing outside of Mathis's apartment building in the cool January air, still not totally sure what she was doing there. That was part of the reason she had arrived so late. When it came to most things she was generally rather decisive, but when it came to Mathis....well complicated was an understatement. With a deep breath she pushed the buzzer to his apartment. If he answered she would simply say. “It's Lexi. Can I come in?”

Mathis Mathews
Her answer would come in the form of a clicking noise indicating that she had been allowed entry. She would find Mathis in his apartment looking at a wall that seemed almost like something out of a movie. He had a picture of Snow at the top and branching down from there he had various names and pictures of people with small notes beneath or next to their name. Upon closer examination one would see that he had pictures of the other Dominion founders scattered along his web. He seemed to be closely studying the names and faces as if he feared he'd forget them. It was only when she entered the room that he spoke. "How was your day?" He asked as if it was a passive thought. He didn't seem particularly interested but was at least willing to listen. Well passively listen.

Lexi stopped a few feet behind Mathis, somewhere in-between where a friend and an acquaintance might stand. In some ways the wall wasn’t that surprising. She was well aware of his obsession with Snow. An obsession Lexi shared. The only surprising thing was she thought the string picture thing was a movie trope people didn’t do in real life. However she didn’t comment on that, nor did she answer Mathis question. “I came here to apologize to you, for what I said before I left.” She said instead, skipping over pleasantries and small talk to jump directly to the reason she was there.

Mathis Mathews
"It's fine. I just don't understand your desire to let Jayson live." Mathis responded quickly as he examined the board. He finally turned away from it to face her. "As usual, I assume you are here for more than to apologize. Most people want something from me or they leave me alone. What is it you want?" He asked in a familiar monotone. So detached and cold. It wasn't a reflection of his feelings towards her. It was a reflection of his current mindset. He was so focused on the hunt he didn't see much else as possibility.
