Pasi was a private person, but there was little in this space that could be said to be so personal he'd not want a visitor to see it. Anything like that was put away or kept in the loft part where his bed was. Still, it was nice when Yuuri wasn't talking endlessly, asking inane questions, or just straight out staring at his belongings. Would Yuuri be dismayed when Pasi insisted on caring for his burns as well? They'd find out. But for the moment he wasn't being a good host - his inner thighs burned from being scalded and it could be said that his 'hosting' skills were being spent instead on not sitting on the couch with his balls out while he put burn cream in more tender places. He would faint from blushing. The thought amused the Finn because it fell right into the 'typical American' mindset of bodies being inherently sexual. Yuuri might have looked Japanese and been graced by an extremely Japanese name, but one could never tell. Not in America. "Go for it. I do not want to contort again, it will pull the skin." Nope, Yuuri was going to get to touch him - get to? Have to, more like. Pasi didn't really want to be touched by someone he didn't know, but was being practical and viewing this whole segment of treatment like going to the doctor or having an EMT tend him. Necessary, so he'd put up with it. Of course, with Yuuri reaching for him, he saw how badly scalded he'd been and felt a little bit of sympathy. "Once this is done, we'll get your hands."

It wasn’t that he thought there was anything wrong about touching Pasi, or any other person for that matter, it was just that Yuuri felt as though it was improper. But he was a naturally shy, overly modest person to begin with, and even with the borrowed tee-shirt being too big for him made him feel self conscious.
He knew his face was red as he took some of the cream onto his fingers, and there was hesitation as he reached out to apply it to the missed spots along Pasi’s chest. He tried not to think about it, not because he felt like there was any sexual undertones in the gesture, but because he would have felt the same way about touching any part of anyone else. His arm, his hand, his chest… it didn’t matter.
Yuuri kept quiet as he worked, although he glanced curiously up at Pasi’s decision to mention working on Yuuri’s hands. If anything, he felt like he deserved to suffer for what he’d done to Pasi. The burns weren’t pleasant for either of them, but since it had been his fault for it, Yuuri wouldn’t have blamed anyone for wanting him to deal with the pain a little longer.
His fingers were as gentle as he could manage, sweeping them over the red burns on Pasi’s chest, and once he was done, he reached back out to take the gauze and dressing, holding the pad to the burn on Pasi’s chest before… realizing it was probably going to be awkward for him to help. The best way to hold it in place would be to wrap it all the way around him, but.
“Arms up, please,” he asked softly, feeling his stupid face heat and darken in color as he shifted to kneel up on the couch so he could get a better angle to wrap the gauze around his torso.
He paused before he leaned too close, although he kept his eyes away from Pasi’s face, not wanting to see his expression.
“Unless you have another suggestion for… this…” he gestured to the gauze, hoping that maybe he could just slap some tape onto Pasi’s chest and call it a day.

Yuuri was very Japanese in many of his sensibilities, much more so than American - if Pasi had been thinking about it much, he would have been pleased to realize that he'd had a chance encounter with someone that wasn't an ignorant American. For someone that was half American, Pasi was ridiculously bigoted against them on the whole. But it was also in his nature to be stoic and not make a thing over what was going on, so at the very least Yuuri would be able to work without having someone teasing him or even commenting unnecessarily about it. The silence between them was a heavy thing, but not entirely unpleasant - Pasi felt no need to fill it. When Yuuri's fingers put pressure of the scalded flesh, it hurt but the Finn only held his breath a bit each time. It took him a moment to think about what would be most effective and efficient to keep the wound coated. "There is medical tape, it could be secured that way as well. I would make a thicker pad over the injury in that case." Because of the extra pressure the tape would put on the wound, especially the edges. "Make it oversize, as well. Please."

While Yuuri was entirely capable of making an educated guess on how to wrap wounds or burns, he was definitely not trained, nor did he have much reason to learn. Until recently. But his life as a corrupted senshi, while it was a crucial part of his life and existence, was not up for discussion in current company.
He paused for a long moment as he listened to Pasi’s instructions, and then reached over to the table to be able to pull the medical kit into his lap. It was easier to work when everything was closer. He worked as carefully and efficiently as he could, although he was worried that his desire to do it right the first time might grate on Pasi’s nerves for the length of time it was taking. Not that Yuuri thought he was taking too long, but he was obviously not practiced.
The pad was carefully placed over the wound, making sure everything was covered. Yuuri’s fingers were light as he kept the pad to Pasi’s chest, although he had to somewhat awkwardly tug at the tape with his teeth and free hand. Because asking for help after being told what to do wasn’t an option.
Things were easier for him when he had a set goal in mind. When he was focused on something and not trying to nervously make his way through crowds of unpredictable people in a cafe. In a quiet setting such as this, when he didn’t feel cornered or threatened, it was easier to relax.

For his part, Pasi was still and quiet unless it seemed that Yuuri needed further instruction - though he was doing a very good job of things, even if it seemed as though he'd not done much practical first aid. Yuuri seemed much more comfortable with a goal, which was nice. His nervousness was somewhat grating, though it was obvious that he couldn't help himself. "Thank you." Once his burn was doctored, he quickly took care of the one on his thigh - it was a quick process, since he was doing it himself and it was just a matter of slapping a plaster on it. "Okay, now for you. Let me see your hand." One at a time, and he had an expression that said 'this is happening' on his face, so Yuuri could argue, but it wouldn't do him any good.

It was something of a relief when Yuuri finished what he was doing and settled back onto the couch, keeping his eyes focused on his own hand, reddened from the burns he’d caused from his own carelessness. He tried not to think about how it was strange that he was brought there, because what could Pasi want from him other than an apology or… maybe money to pay for damages and replace medical supplies. Yuuri was just glad he hadn’t been punched.
So when Pasi turned to him once he was done addressing his own burns, Yuuri couldn’t help but feel surprised. Yes, Pasi had mentioned looking at his burns, but hadn’t actually thought he’d meant it and was just saying it as a courtesy.
He hated that he was probably wasting the man’s time, but after a moment longer of hesitation, Yuuri obediently lifted his hand for the other to see.
"It’s not that bad," he promised, even as he winced when his hand was touched, the heat of the burn radiating painfully through his hand. He felt more guilty than anything, because if he was the only one who had been hurt, that was fine. No one would have cared, and he would have been able to hide somewhere and cry to himself about the pain and embarrassment he felt for putting himself into such a stupid situation.
But since he ended up hurting someone else in the process of his negligence, well. He didn’t think he deserved any kind treatment from the person he’d injured.
"Will you be okay?" he asked, trying to keep himself from fidgeting nervously, his free hand tugging at the fabric of the shirt over his chest. It was a stupid, nervous habit he was unable to shake.

Pasi made a dismissive sound at what he rightly read as Yuuri hemming over whether or not it was worth his time and effort to attend the liquid burns on his hands. In stark contrast to his brusque mannerisms, the Finn's handling of Yuuri's damaged digits was gentle - delicate, even - with line between brow drawing deeper in displeasure at his assessment. "You will have much pain for some days yet, stiffness. These spots," He gestured without touching to the places across Yuuri's hands where the scorching liquid had rested longest, "May blister. I can't tell." Pasi took flat bandages, gauze, medical tape, and burn cream and went to work on the nervous mouse's hands in a manner that said he had a lot of experience bandaging either burns, wounds on hands, or both; an estimation that would not be hard to confirm at least in part by the callouses and scars - many with the strangely glossy look healed burns kept for years post injury - on the brunet's hands. "I'll be fine." He's so nervous. Twitchy and on edge - is it worry that he'll be hurt if I'm not 'okay'? Do I bother trying to calm him? "I build things. I get burns often enough, it's nothing I'm not used to." In a location he wasn't so fond of, for half of it, but still not the worst place he'd ever had scalding - or caustic - liquid fall. "If your concern is for my - junk -" A word chosen somewhat carefully, as though several words had been considered and dismissed summarily within milliseconds before 'junk' was settled on as 'least offensive while still getting the point across while still being crude enough for a peer' term, "-You missed that lot." Yuuri likely wouldn't pick up on the fact that Pasi was attempting to treat him as a peer and as such be sort-of-kind-of inclusive (which was as close to friendly as he got when he wasn't being paid/didn't want or need something), but it was there. Hell, it was unlikely Yuuri would have any idea how much of an effort Pasi was putting into not being a sharp-tongued a*****e of a human - no one ever did. It was such a pity, really. Americans appreciated nothing.

He held his hands as obediently still as he could, trying to will them to stop trembling ever so slightly. It was surprising enough that Pasi was helping him, when Yuuri had been the cause of so much trouble, that he didn’t want to frustrate him or annoy him to the point of being kicked out.
Not that… Yuuri had any intention of staying there! But it would mean he… was rude… or something… if Pasi kicked him out. Otherwise, Yuuri intended on leaving as soon as possible! Definitely no reason or desire to stay. Not at all.
Instead of looking at the other man’s bared chest with the patches of bandages, because that was already weird and awkward, Yuuri stared instead at their hands. Which was just as weird and awkward because his own hands were more proportionate to his thinner frame, and Pasi to his larger one.
The comment about building things and getting burns drew Yuuri’s eyes to the glossy spots on the other man’s hands, where there had obviously been burns before.
“I can’t imagine it’s easy being an engineer. I certainly wouldn’t be able to manage. I can barely hold coffee without spilling it,” Yuuri said quietly, glancing curiously up at Pasi’s face, and biting his lip against commenting on the way his brows furrowed together as he concentrated, lest it be considered teasing. It didn't help that Pasi was rather handsome to begin with, and when he looked so focused, well... it was kind of sweet to think that such an effort was being made on someone like Yuuri.
The suggestion of his concern, however, had Yuuri tensing. Perhaps if Pasi had spoken without the obvious pause as he decided on the best word to use, Yuuri might have snatched his hands away and blubbered his way through some lame excuse on why he should leave. Because he was a coward and would always be a coward.
Instead, although he was sure his face would be giving off steam at this point, Yuuri nodded in understanding. “That’s good,” he mumbled with genuine relief. “I doubt you’d be this kind to me if I hadn’t… missed…”
This was stupid. Why was he getting flustered and embarrassed over stuff like this?
Yuuri cleared his throat.
“Thank you… for this. For helping me. I wouldn’t know the first thing to do with burns. And… I really am sorry about everything.”

Yuuri's hands trembling was just as easily attributed to pain as it was to nervousness; but the Finn wisely said nothing so as to not call further attention to it. "It's not." Too brusque, he is engaging - don't cut him off at the knees. "My dad's a structural engineer, so I grew up with that much. I like to build and tinker. And make robots and electronics." The commentary about barely being able to hold coffee without spilling it was met with a snort and the barest hint of a smile pulling at the corners of Pasi's mouth. "So I've noticed." Pasi's eyes flicked from Yuuri's hands to his eyes momentarily and then back to his 'work' - it wasn't smart to attend burns without paying attention: far too easy to cause further pain if one wasn't careful. Finishing wrapping one hand to move to the other, Pasi paused to give Yuuri a very plain and blunt look. "No, I would not. I would be in the hospital, I think. Not being kind to anyone." He shrugged and returned to doctoring Yuuri's slim hands, choosing to make nothing of Yuuri's continued flustered state. "But that did not happen, so there is no matter. "It is fine. We needed care, this was best. I should have explained instead of grabbing you." But you're timid and it hurt and I didn't want to waste time trying to explain what had to be done while you argued. Not that you would have agreed to come with me if I had explained. "There." The last bit of medical tape was gently pressed down and Yuuri's hands returned to him. Pasi didn't put the kit away though, instead he slathered a large gauze pad with the burn cream and shoved it down his sweat pants, leaning back so he could angle the pad where it needed to go without dropping his drawers - because present company was a bit shy. "Hand me a piece of medical tape. Needs to be about as long as your palm."

For a moment, Yuuri thought that the simple it’s not would be all he would get in response from the other man, but when Pasi continued and shared a little bit about his family and what he liked to do, Yuuri couldn’t help the strange tension from rising in his chest. People liked to talk about themselves, Yuuri knew, but Pasi didn’t seem to be like one of those people. He seemed to like to keep to himself, and sharing things like that with a complete stranger wouldn’t be on the list of things he did often, if ever. Curiously, and still rather nervously, Yuuri glanced back up at Pasi as he worked on his hands. The twitch of his lips into the smallest of smiles was not lost on him, although Yuuri didn’t dare comment, even if the smile made this somewhat dour young man even more handsome than he already was. Being told that Pasi definitely wouldn’t be kind to him or anyone else had Yuuri managed to get scalding coffee on more sensitive areas had him shrinking back. It would have served him right if Pasi wasn’t kind to him. “It’s okay,” was Yuuri’s quiet response to the closest he would get to an apology that he didn’t deserve. “I probably wouldn’t have agreed to go with you even if you had explained.” It had taken Adrien a lot of convincing to get Yuuri to go back to his salon with him the first time they met, and Yuuri knew for a fact that Pasi wouldn’t have put in that kind of effort to talk him into going. Because he wasn’t worth that effort in the first place. Even now, Yuuri was still confused as to why he was being treated kindly like this, when all he’d managed to do was cause trouble. “Your accent,” he started cautiously, not wanting to be unintentionally rude as he reached for the tape and handed it over as requested. “You’re not from here, are you? Or did you just grow up in a multilingual household?” It wasn’t impossible to imagine the man having lived in the country, or even Destiny City, his whole life. Yuuri did his best to speak as accent-free as he could, but it wasn’t difficult for those who didn’t speak English as a native language to pick up on the subtle differences. Which made it easier to hear accents in others.

It was unfortunate when Yuuri shrunk back, but Pasi's blunt honesty wasn't something that was going to change, nor could he go back in time and change what had been said. There were more pressing matters to attend and it really wasn't in the Finn's nature to walk softly around other people's feelings. Applying the tape under his sweatpants was a bit of a production, but he managed fairly well, "Ah, no." He got the gauze pad secured along one side before answering further, brows furrowed in concentration as he balanced with his hips off the couch and his weight held between shoulders and feet. "I was born in Vantaa, Finland." Yuuri might make an attempt to speak accent free, but Pasi didn't care - he was not fond of his American ancestry (no matter how much he loved his mother), nor was he fond of America, so he didn't bother to lose his accent. Once the tapes were in place, he dropped back onto the couch heavily. "I grew up there as well, but I've been state-side for many years. I just dislike it."

Yuuri tried not to stare too obviously as Pasi worked on securing the gauze pad below the hem of his pants. Because that was rude to stare. And he didn’t want to be considered rude.
Pasi was a good half-foot taller than he was, and maybe double in weight. It was no wonder that he was able to carry Yuuri all the way back to his place without a complaint, which was all kinds of embarrassing if anyone asked Yuuri about it. He was glad no one had.
He let out a startled squeak as he was bounced on the couch from Pasi’s weight when he dropped down causing the springs to shift and accommodate.
“Do you plan on going back when you’re done with school?” he wondered out loud, but then realized that it might be considered prying, and he quickly shook his head. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.” It was probably weird to have an awkward stranger like Yuuri curious about things that didn’t have anything to do with him. At least from what Pasi would know.
“I’ve never been that far north. I’ve always wanted to see what it’s like,” he explained. And then there was a moment before he realized there was really no purpose for him to remain in Pasi’s apartment any more. He’d had his hands fixed up, even though the other man had no reason to help him, and Yuuri was still sitting there in his borrowed shirt.
“Oh… uh… I can leave whenever you want,” he mumbled flusteredly, feeling a little disappointed with himself for being a coward, and stupid for feeling that way.

It was hard to not feel eyes on him, but Pasi refrained from commentary since his 'company' was shy and skittish and not at all unlike a virgin on a wedding night. Or prom night. "I don't know. I prefer Finland to America by a great deal." He would have enjoyed going back, very much, but there was one main reason he remained stateside: his mother. She had noticed how closed-off he seemed (to her mostly American sensibilities) and had wanted him to come with her in the hopes that spending time in her home country would help loosen him up. It hadn't worked quite the way she'd hoped and if anything, her son was even more taciturn and anti-America than he'd been when his only exposure to the culture had been through her stories, television, and the internet. "Cold. Dark. Beautiful." Pasi had no issue describing Finland, though he only used three words to do it, each word held passion, love, and longing so poignant it might as well have been a poetic sonnet about where his heart wished to be. "It's also normal. Big cities, small ones...just like anywhere." His voice returned to normal, no further wistfulness, just that direct bluntness. Yuuri's words had the Finn considering his small companion for a moment before sitting up with a grunt, "Does it hurt when you move your fingers. Flex them. How is the pain level?" If Yuuri was going to leave, Pasi was going to do one last check before making his recommendations on care.

As Pasi described Finland to him, Yuuri once again couldn’t help but stare. Not because Pasi was an attractive young man (although that was part of it), but because of the way his voice sounded. Yuuri had never heard someone talk about their home in such a way, as though it was something wonderful, something to pine for when away for too long.
Yuuri had to physically remind himself to close his mouth, which he blamed on just having not expected the passion from someone who had, until then, seemed to be pretty, well… Pasi wasn’t exactly a friendly guy. Probably easily annoyed and content to be distant from others.
“Finland sounds like a place I would like. I’m not sure if I would survive the cold, but… I have some northern blood, so maybe it wouldn’t be as bad as I’d imagine,” he said quietly, a half joke that was, well… wasn’t really said jokingly.
He lifted his hands when asked about his fingers and tried flexing them a little, only to hiss a bit at the immediate pain. “It’s not painful if I don’t move,” Yuuri said, still feeling somewhat guilty for causing similar pain to Pasi.

Being the center of attention was not comfortable, in the slightest. Pasi didn't revel in it, so the fact that Yuuri's attention was basically rapt on him as he spoke...well, he wished it were otherwise. But Finland was so very worth the praise and attention that he struggled with it. "It can be warmer. Stay near the south and west, if you visit. You would be fine." Northern blood? Yuuri looked about as Asian as one could look without wearing a neon sign that said "JAPANESE BOY HERE" - of course, with the way the entire world was practically a melting pot, that meant very little...but still. "If you don't move them they will too stiff as they heal...but if you move them too much, they will crack and scar too much to heal. It will be a problem." Pasi sighed a little, trying to figure out how best to explain care for the bandaged hands. "You have a first aid at home? Leave these today, tomorrow you change them. Same way. Clean with just slightly cool water. Not cold. Pat dry. Let air for as long as you can stand it, then wrap again, like today with burn cream. Next day do again. Third day, same if it's still bad. Fourth day should be okay to just keep clean and dry." Burns could be real bitches if one allowed them to get infected, after all.
