Phaedra blinked a little as she heard her little boy ask if she needed a needle. Realizing right away that he feared it she turned to him with a soft smile and shook her head. "No honey. No needles."
Moving close to him she sat the bowl of water on the table along with the rag and wrappings. "Alright, this might sting just a little but I have to get the dirt out." Phae nodded her head at him before she dipped the rag into the water and held her hand out for one of his own.

knowing that it was going to sting made him hesitant to give her his hand. Dovian stared at her hand for a long moment before he finally relented. "Not too hard." He whined. Sure he was the boy in the pair of twins that his mother and father had but he was by far the baby of the two. Pain wasn't something he liked.
"Can't I just dip it in the water?" He asked, trying to find a way out of it.

Phaedra shook her head at him. "No, that will just make the water dirty and wouldn't be good for the other hand." With a reassuring smile she began to gently dab at her little boy's palm.
"And how would you get your knee in there?" She questioned. Phae grinned as she asked hoping that the small puzzle would take her little one's mind off the pain of his hand.

He let loose a groan as he was denied the easy way out though the question posed about how he would get his knee into the bowl made him stare at it. Dovian came up with a pretty funny image of himself trying to stuff his leg into the water so despite the stinging in his hand he chuckled. "I don't know." He turned his attention back to him mother and lifted his shoulders.
"Maybe you can pour water over it." That took the problem of the bowl out of the equation. Though he didn't think his mother would do that one either. So he sighed and slouched in his seat.

Phae giggled at her little boy's antics and just shook her head. "I don't know why you fuss, Dov, I'm already done cleaning one hand off." In fact she was almost done with the second. He hadn't even winced. Keeping him distracted had been a good idea.
So she continued to wipe and dab until she had all the dirt off both palms. From there she put a light salve on them and wrapped them up to keep them clean.
