"We aren't. I mean yeah we are to our families but... They can't afford us all to have double identities. Too bad too, I'd think I'd enjoy being Bruce Wayne in the day time." He flashed her a smile and put a hand under her chin so he could meet her eyes.
"Then again you are more of a Wonder Woman than a Batman, right?"

"It was a ******** dumb decision to sign up," Joy muttered, uncharacteristically bitter before she forced a smile back on her face. "Uh no, excuse you~ I'm not Wonder Woman, I'm Darna!" she declared, standing up to strike a stereotypical hero-pose with fists on her hips.
"Darna? I'm unfamiliar with her but clearly she is better then wonder women." he smiled back and then stood and pulled her into a sudden hug breaking her super hero pose. "Alright Darna, I'll help you out on our mission. You have friends here."

Clyde's admission to not knowing who Darna was just made the ache in Joy deepen. She didn't show it though, couldn't really, not with a face full of man-chest. She may have gotten older and regained her old height but she sure as hell was still a good deal shorter than a number of the hunters.
She didn't resist the hug though. She wasn't scared of affection or open displays of friendliness and it felt nice to hear that someone had her back. She returned the hug as best as she could, "Salamat pare," she murmured into Clyde's shirt before angling her head so she didn't sound so muffled, "Salamat means Thank You. And pare is short for kumpare, which means a good guy friend."
Listen to Joy sounding all academic when she's really not.
