He had, but it wasn't enough. At least for him. Jason opened his mouth to speak, to say he was fine and not to worry. But the words didn't come out. Was he alright? No, he wasn't alright. He was without his weapon as a result of doing something incredibly foolish, he still had to face his friends and loved ones. And above all he had no idea what to do about the mirrored version, how to make sure he couldn't come back. He did want to cover it up so others would not worry, but the idea seemed cruel in a way. A lie that anyone who knew him would see through. It wouldn't be right to lie about something like this. The moon hung his head, his head slowly moving from side to side. He didn't want to meet her eyes.

Sherry just watched him. He seemed to almost sink into himself at her question, his body language communicating a great deal of pain and sadness. Of course he wasn't all right. No one in this situation would be, would they? His small, slow confirmation of 'no' was all she needed. "That's fine. I don't think anyone would be alright. I sure wouldn't be." Sherry reached out, her hand reaching for his, lightly, giving him the option to reject it. "Is there anything I can do?"

Jason didn't reject her offered hand. He took it gratefully. "T-thankyou...y-you've already helped me a lot." She had believed him. It was more than he could ask for. "I j-just need to f-find out the meaning behind all of this...T-there are so many questions..." He sighed. "I'll have to ask the division leads. They may be able to s-shed some light. H-help me figure out what to do..."

Sherry grasped his hand firmly, warmly, her free hand moving to join the first. She was here for you, Jason, she was. She smiled reassuringly. "I'll do anything I can to help." This was a shitty situation and this Jason didn't deserve this. He'd tried to help her, even. She'd help him in return. "OH, right." She pulled on hand away and reached for her phone. "There was some chatter about you on Twitter. A friend of yours mentioned you were acting strange, then I told them what I had seen. Someone else mentioned," she was scrolling through past tweets, "ah, yes." She looked at Jason and leaned in. "Have you heard of, um," her voice dropped to a whisper, "the Violet Legacy?" She still didn't like saying their names. Then she leaned back and spoke in a normal voice. "Someone mentioned it might be related to that. If that helps at all."

For a moment Jason looked confused when she brought out her phone, leaning in to see what she meant. "Oh, Twitter". It wasn't something he used often, figuring if he needed to talk to someone he would just, go talk to him. Perhaps he should start using it more often. "Ace..." he he saw his name, feeling his stomach clench painfully. He'd beaten him up as well, and he was only a trainee too. Shame prickled at his mind, but he pushed it aside for now. "Have I..." he trailed off, looking confused. "The violet one? Isn't that-" And then he just stared at her in sudden realization. " Reflection." He groaned, flopping back into his pillow in a dramatic fashion. "Now things make more sense..." It seemed so obvious now he wondered why it didn't occur to him before. What with the whole mirror thing. "But why..." He spoke out loud. "C-creation has been around, and so has protection, grief...What has the violet legacy got to do with this..."

"Yeah. Ace." She didn't know him, but he was apparently Jason's friend. Sherry wondered what had transpired between 'other Jason' and Ace. She hoped it wasn't too bad. With a small, soft smile Sherry sat and waited patiently as Jason thought. At least until he said Violet's other name. "Oh. That does make sense," she agreed. "Reflection." A whisper. "I don't know," she said in reply. Even as she said it she realized he might have just been thinking out loud and not expecting an answer. Oh well. "I have a feeling a most of them are around, in one way or another. I know," she paused considering her words, "I know Gold has been around, too. I call that one Steve." Sherry shook her head. "But I don't know why any of them would be around." She squeezed Jason's hand. "Have a lead now, though." Maybe.

Though he wasn't as concerned about saying their names, the fact Sherry was whispering it had him cautiously looking around, as if the legacies were going to jump out and say 'boo!' at any moment. Thankfully they did not. He did look towards her when she mentioned the gold legacy. "G-gold huh." That was pride, and the one he had the most experience with. From the kingdoms to the knights, he had always been in pride. "I wonder what it's up to..." Jason did smile at the name given. "Steve? T-thats a interesting choice." He then squeezed her hand back. "Yes. T-thank you. I've now got a idea of what's going on."

"Yeah," she nodded. Gold was around. Sherry bit her lip at his wondering. It wasn't a huge secret, a handful of people knew about her ring. She kind of wanted to tell him, especially if it might help him feel better in any way, but she also didn't like telling people about it. Dilemma. Luckily Jason kept talking. Sherry laughed. "Mark suggested it. He gave me a lecture on saying their names too much. I've," she might as well say something, "had a bit of a run in with something Steve related. Nothing major, and totally under control, but yeah. You're not the only one that's had to deal with them lately." She said it to be reassuring. "I'm happy to help." Another smile. "In any way that I can. I'm serious about that."

Wow. Good advice from Mark, that was rare. "O-oh, really?" He was curious but didn't want to pry. At least she didn't seem worried, which meant it wasn't a bad thing. Hopefully. "I-it sounds like everyone has had a run in with the legacies." Jason half joked. Although his experience was less then stellar. "I j-just hope Steve treats you nicely." Pride could be a good thing, but only in small doses. "Y-you've already helped me a lot." Privatively he just wanted to keep her safe, and try make up for the horrible experience she had went through.

Sherry nodded. Maybe she'd tell him one day, later, when she knew more. She was still worried someone would try to take her ring away from her, or something. "More and more, yeah," Sherry agreed with a laugh. "So far Steve has." Except the whole "Carl" thing. Everyone was okay, though, that had to count for something. Sherry smiled. She didn't feel like she'd done much of anything. Hell, she'd hated him when she'd walked in the room - though knowing there was something odd at play in all of this had certainly helped quell that. Made it easier to accept that this Jason was not the same one from before. "I'm glad," she began quietly, "That you're still here. I might have hated you -the wrong you- forever if I didn't learn what really happened." That wouldn't have been fair to Jason.

Unbeknown to Sherry, Jason had his own 'secret legacy' that he was keeping quiet on. Because protecting the blue legacy and all that. "It's weird that s-some of the legacies are more kinder then others...I still don't understand why creation turned out like...that. With the whole zombies thing." He then focused on the sheets, biting his bottom lip. "I j-just wish...I could take it all back. That I had the strength to prevent all this..." He looked solemn, then realized part of what Sherry said. "B-but I'm glad I'm still here too!" Wait, did she mean him him, or did he mean when he tried to... s**t. "I n-need to make sure he doesn't come back! Somehow."

"Yeah," Sherry said, shaking her head. "It's so confusing sometimes. Why do they do the things they do?" It was a rhetorical question, and Sherry was certain neither she nor Jason could ever possibly answer it. She gave him a sad smile. "Sometimes there not much we can do. I know that's a terrible feeling...," Sherry had to look down for a moment. There really wasn't anything she could say that wouldn't sound like she was making it up just to say something nice. "Yes," she said instead. "You're here and that's good. I'm sure there is some way to make sure he doesn't come back. I'll help you look for one, if you want." As long as nobody died Sherry was willing to help.

Even if he was hurting inside, Jason mustered up a small smile. Sherry was trying so hard. It was amazing how forgiving some people could be. "I u-understand." As much as he wanted to, he couldn't change the past. The only thing he could do now was to look forward. Try to fix what he could. He was still smiling, or at least trying to, when she looked at him again. "I a-appreciate it." Honesty he felt this was something he should do himself, but didn't want to outright say it. "I just want to get him out of me...as far away as possible. H-hell, even just get rid of him entirely." Or at least understand where he came from in the first place.

Sherry frowned slightly in thought. It was troubling to think that the mean version of Jason could still be in there somewhere. She shifted on her seat and made a noise of thought. "I don't blame you. He was... Well. You know better than I do." A weak smile was pushed away by a larger one. "You'll be able to get rid of him." It was the only option that was acceptable, in Sherry's view.

Yes. He knew exactly what he was like. Just recalling what he did...Jason shuddered. He had to do something. "O-of course..." He didn't sound confident. Though he wanted to, desperately, he didn't think it would be that simple. Legacies weren't so easily bested. But then, maybe he didn't have to worry after all? "T-theres always a possibility he's already gone..." It was a optimistic thought, although he had nothing to base it on.
