Bench pressing 400 pounds regularly made wielding his goremaul easier than the senshi's attempts to lift the thing. Indeed, Titan wouldn't be able to swing it at all, except for Metallia's power. But lift it he did. There was plenty of view to appreciate while Aegir maneuvered the thing. The flopping afterwards, though, was?

It wasn't unappreciated. Still frighteningly intoxicating—physical contact. But this wasn't a cell, where a captor was offering a small comfort amid a litany of distresses. And they were still enemies at a parlay. If it was that. Aegir's stated purposes were as well fulfilled- checking that the General was alive and well enough and expressing regret of the event. "Does this go too far?"

Not so far as had been done in the City Aquarium, his own voice chided in thought. He may want no more than that same sort of relationship. What is the difference? The Lady's Oath. Is that enough then, for a personal definition of morality and honor? Fearing something is dishonorable is usually a good first warning that it is, and that much has been in mind before of Lady Hvergelmir. Where does it stop?
Metallia has never made a code of honor for her servants to follow, though. And no others seem to follow the same rules. Just Titan. Who is to determine what is poor conduct, then?

The General's mouth slide sideways, brows troubled, and there was a muted, thoughtful click of metal caught in teeth while the labret shifted minutely. "You are being warm like flirting, as much as friend. It is not a good thing for a sailor scout unsworn and a General. "

Aegir blinked up at Titan as though he didn't quite understand what was meant by the phrase 'Does this go too far?', chest rising and falling under cream and gold jacket in slower, considered rhythm. It bore thought, truly, for he was ever the sort to not realize a personal space boundary had been broken - it had been a source of trouble in the past, and something that he tried to take note of more often.

Is it too much? Quenton would say yes, I'm being careless. But he gave his word he wouldn't harm me and I trust that he's honorable. I won't be harmed. I am safe enough and he's treated me gently in the past.
Colin, not Aegir. And I'm not Colin right now. There is a difference, isn't there. Still. I am comfortable and if he doesn't hate it...is it really too much?

A familiar sound - the click of a labret against teeth - drew him back from thought. "You have the most worried expression, Titan. Did you not give me your word you would not harm me? Did I not also give mine? So am I not safe?" Warm like flirting Well, he was, wasn't he? But flirting was breathing, and Titan was attractive in a way that drew Aegir relentlessly.

I am an adult, I make good choices...

"Well...I am flirting, I admit. I'm pretty forward." What would the General do if he reached up to touch the furrow of his brow? Aegir wanted to, it looked deep, a well worn path of worry and dismay and the thought of smoothing it was a nice one. Instead, he found himself reaching to tug Titan's goatee; it was a familiar gesture and it felt oddly right and also strangely weird. "For instance...I might have asked to try your hammer just so I'd have an excuse to collapse in your lap after.

"I mean, I did want to see if I could lift it too, but. I think maybe this part is better."

“Love of any kind is not safe, or approved, between enemies. It has its own harms. Even with promises. It would hurt both of us.” The general carefully moved a large hand to lift and sproing some of the curls of gold that spread on his scalemail lap.

As though there were no need for outside validities, Aegir an Eternal Senshi laid with head pillowed in peace on the very lap of a General of the Negaverse. Heavy choices, which direction this whole meeting could lead. But not to rest, Titan suspected. No more than his choices with Colin, with his family, with Lady Hvergelmir, with Kairatos had lead to peace. What surprised most of all was a sudden wish in his heart for that cavalry that wasn’t coming to save Aegir, from something he didn’t need saving from, to come just the same. They’d stand behind him and slit his throat. Let such small moments and memories go on forever, being the last.

But that isn’t making choices, and that isn’t what I have promised before. I wonder how many more promises I can fit in my pockets. How many more loyalties.

I remember curls like this. On my lap. More worth than gold.
“Why do you flirt with me? What do you really want from me, Aegir? You could find good looking people that are senshi. ”

Eyes green as spring grass peered up between thick gold lashes, expression frank. It sounded as thought a decision was being made for him again, which was irritating the way a rock in one's shoe might be, but worse; and still, thinking further it was less a decision and more the General expressing concern. Warning him away, being responsible. Noble, even. "I don't think of you as my enemy.

"I see too much good in you. I feel it." Aegir closed his eyes and smiled, reaching a hand up blindly to tap over Titan's chest, "I'm drawn to it."

Harder questions came, disturbing whatever repose he might have thought to enjoy; scalemail wasn't necessarily comfortable but it was enough that he would have stubbornly stayed there, much like a cat might stay in one's lap if it knew you had to pee and didn't want you to stop petting it.

'You could find good looking people that are senshi.' Was something that hurt a bit, but not because Titan said it - it was true, he could find attractive enough people to cuddle up to that were senshi, or even knights or Mauvians. He was even dating a couple that happened to be a senshi and a knight and it was lovely, but in general the whole Order side relationship thing had gone about as poorly as the civilian side had. He wasn't trying to correct that by going for Chaos, it was more he just felt comfortable with Titan for whatever magical mystery reason and wanted to explore that.

"I'm drawn to you. There is something about you that calls to me." Eyes open once more, expression turned suitable to the seriousness that Titan's questions merited. "Do you find it hard to believe you're worth wanting? You are attractive, but that's not why I continue to flirt with you. I flirt with people like breathing, I don't invite them out and sit in their laps unless I actually want to get to know them.

"Maybe it's nothing, or maybe you'll think I'm strange...but I find I want to know about you. I'm just trying to respect that you can't tell me because you're an officer."

“It says a lot, if there is no senshi with enough good to draw eye, and draw to Generals.” And not about the Negaverse. The words were spoken with a humored goading, like teasing, but there was a dark feel to them. It could only be half a joke at best, if it was the truth.

Admissions of attractiveness were pleasant vanity. He’d spent a long part of his short life trying to carve his only mastery, his body, to match one of the many ideals of beauty held by the mass of humanity. Harðhugaðr was a hard thing to match, but a General of the Negaverse was still only man in cheap pales and blondes compared to a the bronze and carmine of a God. Of wanting though, Titanlåvenite was unvowed to his General, unfit to take on lieutenants or captains and assigned none, unmanned from the Special Operations, and in no grace save from blessed Queen Laurelite alone. “You are very strange. “

“And very fair. And persistent. And dangerous. ” The words were all dangerous- drawn, know, feel, flirt, and most of all that Aegir had not denied the strongest of them: Love. Titan had used it, but Aegir did not push it aside at any point. The eternal was an insidious sort of dangerous that came with soft smiles and silken sighs. And picnics. “There isn’t more than my service to the Throne to me, anymore….”

“ What do you want to know...and would knowing satisfy you to stop this... madness? Or would it encourage you?” I fear I know this answer. Such green eyes. I know what his answer would have been, full of trouble.

Gallows humor was a viable defense strategy in war; Titan's words were a very sad joke. "Pity I didn't find you first, isn't it?" But then, weren't Negaverse officers just civilians...or sometimes Knights? Then how would one know? They didn't wake like senshi - no Mauvian to tell them where to go or how to get there. Still. Still.

Aegir could only smile up and up, answering to the dark joke with a smile that held some measure of regret. Too bad time travel isn't real. Space travel, yes. but time? Not as far as I'm aware. If it is, maybe Ash would know...I'd guess no, too many paradoxes and potentials to ruin everything...

'You are very strange.' Titan's words drew any melancholy from the senshi's expression, leaving only amusement and interest in what would come next. The General did not disappoint, adding three more quantifiers that broadened Aegir's smile and drew a laugh that set him curling inward slightly in Titan's lap. "Yes. I suppose I am."

Aegir slid one hand up Titan's chest and up under the heavy strap that crossed there, using it to pull himself up a bit and reaching up with the other arm to lay the flat of his hand gently against the general's drawn cheek. "Would you kiss me to find out, Titan?"

"Or should I kiss you and let that be answer enough?"

Hand on his cheek, the General’s own gloved hand lowered to cover that scandalous mouth. The senshi’s lips balanced in volume and proportion; the upper with a sharp arrowhead where cupid gave other’s bows. Eternal Aegir just kept outright saying things. ‘Kiss’ Leather gloves were something, anything, like a barrier.

Then teleport away. It isn’t cost to exhaustion as a General. It isn’t a weapon of aggression, when it is for safety. Both our safety. I think…Did he plan this all along with this picnic? This isn’t checking up, this is checking out. It is like a date. I am on a date with a senshi? Am I? What ….should I do with this?

Why is this a problem. This should not be this difficult. It is the touch. Touch and smiles, and he is beautiful. He has been kind. He knows he is a dream.

Grey eyes, struck with maelstrom, looked down into green. “We are enemies. It would encourage you.”

Mirth curved lips, drawing eyes into jelly bean crescents. Titan's hand covered much of his face but did nothing to hide either amusement or challenge in green. He was already encouraged, would not be discouraged. The General gave him paltry reasons for backing away and he was tired of something as small as the Negaverse taking away what he wanted, no matter how large it might actually be.

And for all his protests, Titan didn't teleport away. He looked conflicted, wanting. His worry was for both, not just one, as though his acceptance were a forgone thing and Aegir thrilled to the thought. You are caught, and you are worried about it. Is it gentling you need then, permission? Command? Or do I overwhelm you so you can't worry about pesky things like 'we're enemies' anymore?

He held Titan's gaze, mouth opening behind the gloved hand so that teeth could be gently but firmly applied to leather-clad fingers. Ah. A bit of all of it, save the permission. The reaction was immediate and gratifying: an all over shudder, a low sound, and the General's head going back as though Aegir had done just the thing he'd wanted; it left the senshi's hand to drop from cheek to the officer's throat, feeling muscle and cartilage move. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I could watch that all day. Ah, I want to keep you, Titan. Let me keep you.

‘I am ….Titanlåvenite. Almost all the time.’
More worth than gold.

The want for simple contact, even without the grandeur of love or a fairytale, was geas. Aegir flirted, said to want to get to know, but also had laid an explicit trap and offer of a shallower sort in welcome to that. Shallow, but swallowing. The General swallowed. Disappeared, teleporting at last, but not away. The position would not have supported sated hunger. So Titan reappeared no longer beneath Aegir’s head, but over him. However the blink out had laid the eternal on the picnic blanket, Titan’s hands flatted on either side of the senshi’s shoulders, and oriented them face-to-face.

Titanlåvenite drank of lips with ones parched.
