Travis agreeing with him had Liam grinning brightly. He was easy to please. Travis appreciating what he had to say on the subject of fighting went a long way. Before he could answer though, he'd have to jerk an arm up to try to block the oncoming punch, only to take it to his bicep, rather than where it had been intended to hit. "I, ah. I'm out here at least four times a week, though I probably ought to be out here more often." He smiled sheepishly, swinging one of his tonfa out at the other trainee. He was working on getting out and practicing more. He was a Moon, and his job was to keep the Suns safe. Harper was a Sun. HP: 19 DMG: 2 CHG: 3/3

Travis got in a tiny nod. Four times a week seemed like a good number, at least for starting out. Didn't want to over-do it right away. "I see." The tonfa came at him, hitting him on the shoulder. Travis hoped he was getting better about the flinching thing. Couldn't flinch from every hit - he had to learn to just take them. He followed Liam's hit up with another punch, doing what he could to aim for the other Moon's middle. HP: 24/40 Damage: 10 Charge: 3/3

It was startling, but that was sort of the point. Travis sank that wicked gauntlet into the Moon's stomach, knocking the air from his lungs. And doubling him over. It hurt, and that was Liam's furT clue that his shield was starting to fail on him. If he wanted to stand a chance of winning, he was going to have to pull out something impressive. Wicked grinned, he could feel it, and fit once there wasn't an internal battle over using the charge the revenant had stored. Except, maybe he should have. The runes on the tonfa flared, and a rush of raw energy surged through the Moon. As always, it was too much, and he flinched almost immediately, teeth grit against the over abundance of stimuli setting his nerves on fire. It was too much. Distracting. He lunged at Travis, but the angle was wrong, the follow through weak. The blunt end of his tonfa whipped past the other trainee, hitting only air, and Liam stumbled as he moved past, just barely catching himself before he hit the ground. HP: 0 DMG: 8| nope CHG: 0

Travis was starting to feel like he might have a handle on this. No, that was a lie he told himself. He did feel like he was understanding it better. How much he'd actually have to work at it. Train. He was just about to try and follow up his attack with another when he saw Liam's weapon glow bright and he froze. What did that mean? Was that a strong attack? It was almost too late that he realized Liam was aiming for him. Travis tried to move, but he told himself he was too late. He knew he was. He flinched and - wasn't hit. The next thing he knew Liam was down. "Oh, wow. Are you okay? What was that?"

Instead of worrying about getting back to his feet Liam shifted until he was sitting on the patchy lawn, arms resting over his knees. He turned a sheepish smile up to Travis at the question, not exactly pleased by losing yet again, and this time to a trainee fresh from the pods. It made him wonder what it was he was doing wrong, and Wicked's amused chuckling at the thought was anything but reassuring. "Uh, that was a released charge. Well, a failed one," he amended, bringing a hand up to run at the back of his neck. "You probably felt it, about mid way through? It's kind of a...a rush, or a zing, or maybe just your weapon getting excited." He wasn't sure how to describe it, and wasn't sure if it even felt the same for everyone. He'd never asked. "Anyway. Our weapons will suck up Fear from things. Our shields, or the things we fight against. Once it has enough, you can use it. It's like a special move." His gamer side was showing with that analogy. He shrugged. "Depending on your weapon, what it used to be, the charges do different things, and sometimes they fail, or backfire, if you're really unlucky."

Travis was relieved to see that Liam seemed fine. "Oh," he said. He looked down at the gauntlets he still wore. He had felt a little something, hadn't he? It was hard to tell with his nerves being so strung on the fight itself. "I see..." He thought he did, anyway. "A special move, but we have to charge it up." He looked at Liam and grinned. "That's kind of really cool. I wonder what mine does." He'd have to try it out sometime. A feeling of agreement rose up in his mind, a feeling he recognized as Radulfr. He was still getting used to that, too. Travis desummoned the weapon and offered a hand to Liam. "What does your's do?"

Liam took the offered hand with a grateful smile, hauling himself up with Travis's help, though he didn't really need it. Back on his feet he murmured a thanks, hands brushing pff the back of his shorts before sinking into the back pockets. "Well, when it works it's sort of like a boost. Faster, stronger, that sort of thing. The effects are there regardless, and it's a huge strain on my own shield, but it's really unhelpful if I can't connect with my target." He shrugged. "Wicked was a revenant before becoming a weapon, so he's not about helping without causing a bit of trouble, too."
