A shiver ran violently up his spine as the memories sank in, the forest, the cottage with the dead rabbit, even more so the moors the last place he could remember seeing before waking up in some odd offsite deus infirmary. What was new was the new scars of devastation that had ripped across the landscape giving a whole new feeling of dread to crawl along his skin and before he could make a comment to Rep the phone lit up alerting the S-Level threat. s**t.. His shoulders went rigid as he shoved the phone back into the pocket.

“Amazing isn’t the word I would go for. Haunted is what she called it. This places ******** with everything, nothing is right here.” His voice was low as he kept darting glances around as if expecting something to show up but had resisted summoning his weapon for the time being. Even being years later, Sasha’s warning still drummed in his head.

“We were only here for what seemed like two days, but we were gone from Deus for a month. Our best bet though is the rectory at the chapel if its locks. I didn’t get to see the place but last time two of the hunters found something, a black key and something slumbering beneath it waiting to be opened. As for the new look... ” He pressed his lips together giving a quick shrug. “Whatever it is, it wasn’t here last time. Or if it was it didn’t come lumbering around. I do suggestion not falling asleep at all if you can help it.”

Abruptly, everything grows silent around them. Nothing except their own breathing can be heard. And then...the scrap ingobernable stone against stone, the crumbling of rock. In the distance, the castle begins to shift and topple.

Rep didn't like this place much. It was one thing to run into weird s**t, but it was just made even weirder that it was happening in what was undoubtedly Scotland, with the same cool and yet almost clammy air that he knew in his bones, the kind of air he wanted to lean into like a cat, like the caress of an old friend, something that resonated with the core of him and his childhood. Something here was off, just plain not right, the destruction jarring against the ruins, no tourists, no anything. His mind raced with what the ******** an S level threat could be doing here and why no one had ever run into it before.

"I'm no much use." he said as Matt offered some advice. "This s**t is all new to me, I just remember Jerry had a key at one point and that's it."

He looked out across the view they had of the place and did a double take when right in front of them the castle began to collapse.

"Oh <********>." he said, and this time, he did summon his weapon. "Guess we are going to go towards that s**t rather than away from it right?" But he knew the answer already.

"Aww, so smart." Otto replied to Rep, summon Tenya out after Rep brought out Tracey. Either the castle was crumbling because of a threat that needed eliminating, or whatever he was looking for knew he was here. Neither was very promising, really. With a breath, he headed straight for the castle.

A castle.

"This whole place is kind of cool, though... S level threat not withstanding." He jogged a little quicker the closer he got, his blood racing and his pulse itching to tear away the mystery surrounding the keys.

Matt opened his mouth to respond to Rep, knowing where Jerry had gone when he had received the key but quickly closed it. It went silent, too silent, as fear crept along his skin like a fog leaving behind the damp clammy sort of feeling soon followed by a shudder as stone scraped across stone.

“s**t..” The castle collapsed as Matt almost gave the impression of jumping out of his skin but instead he swallowed it back as his fingers shook a little, it was the last place he had wanted to go towards considering the last mission, but it was almost unavoidable now. Summoning Kasi he followed suit behind Otto his pace driven more on the adrenaline of fear then curiosity, whatever it was S level or not it was likely something that he didn’t want to know existed.

The castle was falling apart. Except...as they grew closer, it wasn't. Oh it was falling, alright. And rising. It was moving. Toward them. The gatehouse expanded as it rose toward the sky and bellowed with a might the hunters could feel in their bones. Towers and walls transformed around the keep until what towered above them was a massive, blocky beast. The ground shook and rubble rose into the air, forming wings against its might back. Again, that bellow.

It was a gargoyle.

A gargoyle the size of a castle.

And it was moving toward them.

"Ah s**t that thing is ******** HUGE." Rep said in a panic. Even with Tracey summoned he wasn't about to endeavour under the delusion that the hulking monster made of stone and fury was something he could easily (or ever) ********. What do you guys want to do?" he asked. "Should we get out of here? Or do you want to ******** try?"

He wasn't optimistic, but he'd never run from a fight he'd been ordered to go for yet.

"Fuuuuuucking s**t." Otto's creatively dismal attempt at commentary aside, the lording castle turned alive slowly ambled toward then. It seemed to take up the sky itself, blocking all manner of light and surroundings.

Otto shook his head at Rep's question. "We ain't fightin' that thing."

No, he wouldn't be stopped here. He couldn't fight this thing. even with three hunters. It was suicide. Especially with the key still blocking out his full strength. He didn't come here to die, or take out two innocent hunters with him. He came here to get rid of the key, or at the very least, figure out it's use.

"I'm going up." Otto shouted, sounding as idiotic as he felt. Maybe he was being reckless. In fact, he really truly knew that he was. But he had zero leads anymore on what to do, and no desire to turn around. If he left now, he'd never have answers. He also had zero desire to fight something that needed only to flick him with a turret sized finger to do him in.

"Maybe it's still a real castle on the inside. I have to find out where those <********>' locks are." Building up his courage, and biting down the fear and tired sense of self preservation that cried itself to sleep every night, Otto ran toward the danger, looking for the best chance to leap onto one of the castle's grounded appendages to climb up from.

Tenya called him a moron. He agreed.

Blue eyes went wide as terror left the man’s mouth agape. “Oh ******** hell…..” This island had proved him wrong again, he had thought the worse thing to encounter Sasha or Vanessa, whatever it had wanted to call itself, but this? The castle was moving, actually moving towards them in some sort of lumbering fashion. It literally had to do no nothing but raise an appendage and crush them like ants, and there was no way in any new hell that Matt had any grand delusions that he could even make a dent in fighting it.

That was not an option, running away though that seemed liked the better solution and a more viable one if they wanted to live to see the next few months until something else reared it’s ugly head at Deus. It was the one he was sold on, as well at Otto for the moment and he was mostly reassured that even Rep didn’t want to tackle it if he didn’t have to.

“Wait what…” It had taken Matt a moment to process the rest of what the blonde hunter had said before he started racing towards the hulking beast. Sucide… The whole damn thing was suicide and he was going to end up dead again on this bloody hunk of rock because for whatever reason Matt was too stupid to leave anyone behind to deal with something like this on their own.

Instead leaving in the opposite direction like someone sensible would do, the hunter was trailing after Otto. “And how the hell are you planning on getting in without being flattened? Tell me you have more of a plan than, I don’t know, winging it.”

The creature's motions were slow, but with such weight and power behind each move that getting in its way would be like getting hit by a car. There were clear openings along its torso, though, paths for Otto and the rest to attempt.

To enter the castle

    Roll 1 d20
11 and over is a successful leap
Each Hunter must roll 3 successes to enter
Failure results in 20 auto damage
Quote me if you reach 0HP or if your hunter decides to deviate from Otto's attempt to enter

Otto ran without a shred of doubt. Driven to act, he leapt up, grabbing onto one of the stones of the castle's legs and holding on. From there, he began the task of looking for another chance to jump and climb higher.

He felt adrenaline rush through his veins, his heart pumping in excitement. Taking action instead of worrying about outcomes felt liberating. He felt alive again.

This was why he'd joined Sun. This fulfilling sense of accomplishment through actions, and not the constant overthinking and doubts that plagued him in Death.

As certain as he was in his conviction, it didn't mean much to the colossus he was boarding. It shook as it landed it's foot, sending Otto a few feet down before he held on again. The force of the catch shook his bones, making it feel as if his arm was nearly ripped from it's socket.

The drop in his stomach he'd felt when he'd nearly fallen off the giant moving castle gave Otto a boost of urgency. He flung himself up from the leg using the own castle's movement as a launching point.

Now he was rock climbing, scampering desperately up towards the bulk of the castle with his eyes focused hard on his destination; an opening inside those heavy stone walls.

With one final tug and hefting himself up and over, Otto rolled into an open window and inside the moving castle, clinging to the frame of it to scout where to land.

It was a long way up, as Matt let a shiver run down his back as he tried to keep up with Otto and Rep as they made their way closer one of shambling legs. With every step it took the ground shook beneath it and fear icy claws started grip at him again, clawing its way up his legs slowing him down little by little. This was worse than last time, worse than facing Vanessa in Sasha’s body where he didn’t think he would have almost died, this time he was quite sure it was possible.

Reaching its leg he scrambled, trying to grab a hold of anything to cling to the beast but it lurched forward out of his grasp as rocks and debris tumbled down, something larger colliding and almost pulling his shoulder out of its socket as he hissed falling to a knee.
