The kid knew how to pet, that was for sure.
Finding himself unable to resist, Bob rolled over like a small dog and offered his belly for additional scratchings. If he was going to get a good rubdown, he might as well take advantage of the opportunity!
"All sorts of 'em, kid. Ones you probably don't want to run into, when checking for creeps in dark alleyways."
Thoughts of General Obsidian flickered across his mind. There were some Generals that even he'd find himself worried about, if it hadn't been for most of them disregarding Mauvians in general. Cats weren't the asset to the Negaverse as the White Moon ones were... and that was plenty fine with 'ol Bobby boy.
"Some are just young and dumb. Most want something for nothing, but ain't that how it always works, with people?"
His tail swished back and forth, the bushy red coloring wiping away at the dirt on the ground. "What about you, kiddo? You ever thought about checking on the other side of things before?"

”You mean, like, joining the Negaverse?” Goretti asked after a second. He tilted his head as he looked down at Bob; his pets never slowed or faltered. “I don’t think I want that. Everyone seems so lost, and angry. I don’t think they treat their people very nicely. And they seem very needy. ‘Gather energy! Go fight people! Make monsters!’ No, thank you,” Goretti answered, wrinkling his nose.
“I mean, don’t get me wrong, I think there are some very nice people in the Negaverse. But I don’t know if that’s where they belong. My dad says, sometimes people get stuck in the wrong place because they don’t know any better, or they don’t have anywhere else to turn. He says a lot of good people wind up doing bad things because they don’t have any other choice. But, I don’t think he knows about the Negaverse or anything, he just means the every-day things. But it makes me kind of sad, you know?”
He sighed and chewed on the inside of his lip before continuing, “I imagine it has to be like in the military, or a really strict school—you have to do exactly what they say or you get in trouble. It sounds sort of scary to me. I wouldn’t want to be ruled by fear. I’d rather be on my own and happy than in a group of people who are just teaching you how to be mean. I don’t think that’ll get them anywhere, and that’s why I’m pretty sure the Negaverse is going to lose. Maybe they’re stronger, or more organized, but I bet they’re lonely. At least, here, I have friends that I know I can trust.”
Friends that meant enough to him to draw a smile to his face just by thinking about them.

He grew quiet at that. Well, the kid wasn't exactly wrong, but.
Flipping back over onto his stomach, Bob abandoned the petting spree to make his way over to his new prizes. Hopping on to the cardboard box, he made a new home on his brand new blanket by turning once, twice and then nestling atop the warm, comforting fabric.
"Sometimes siding with monsters is better than being forced to fight them."
He didn't elaborate on his statement, one paw moving out to bat against the can of tuna, as though giving the kid an unspoken order of help, please. For being a carefree cat, his expression was more pensive than normal.
It was hard, trying to remember his time before his own "induction" to the Negaverse. Almost from the start, all he'd known was the stern, iron fist ruling of the Chaotic empire - it's just how it was, frankly. But it didn't mean there weren't times where he questioned how life would have been, had the General-King not stumbled across him.
"You do you, kiddo. Just remember that if you decide to change your mind and want to come play with the big boys - old Bob is here for you."

It wasn’t necessarily a logic that Goretti agreed with, but it wasn’t one that he couldn’t understand. He watched Bob thoughtfully, but Goretti wasn’t always the best at reading people—much less, cats. He reached for the tuna can and hooked his finger through the tab, peeling back the tin lid. He set it close to Bob, smile still clinging to his lips.
“That’s fair,” he decided. “And if you ever want some time away from monsters, come visit my homeworld with me. We can be friends, our little secret. Because,” he gave Bob one more quick scratch behind the ears, “Just because someone sides with monsters or gets stuck with smarmy jerks doesn’t mean they can’t have friends. Besides, I bet they don’t find things as cool as my Moonshine in the Negaverse! If I find other cool things, I’ll share with you, too. Since you’re my friend, I want you to be happy. Especially if you’re stuck working for the Negaverse.”
He might not have known their practices very well, but all he could imagine was a tight schedule, constant work, and grouchy coworkers, and even if they weren’t on the same side, he didn’t think anyone deserved to be unhappy.

It was hard to resist purring as the kid found the best spot behind his ear, so Bob didn't bother trying. He purred loudly and proudly as he received the generous scritches, the scent of fresh(ly canned) tuna wafting up to his little furless nose.
"Nah, I can't say that any of them have found anything quite as cool as your Moonshine, kiddo." He admitted honestly, the wide grin spreading across his face once more. "And it'll be our secret. I'll share my favorite things with you too."
Mentally, he acknowledged that he'd avoid revealing the handful of Maxim Magazines he'd found stashed away behind the dumpster on 8th Avenue. Even with the kiddo being an Eternal now, he'd uh... stick to baubles or something. Yeah. Shiny things.
With that, the cat proceeded to dunk his face into the open can of tuna, pieces of the processed meat going every which'a where as he chewed.

Goretti couldn’t help but laugh; even he was particularly proud of the Moonshine he’d managed to snag. “All right,” he said, satisfied. “I’m really excited, Bob. But, since it’s getting late I’m going to head home for tonight.”
Reluctantly, he pushed himself up. “But I’ll be back to hang out with you again, soon. Stay out of trouble! I’ll bring some more snacks next time, too.”
He tried to stifle a yawn; it was the first time he’d realized how tired he was, but at least he’d found Bob and been able to share the treasures he’d found. Besides, with Bob so invested in his food, now seemed like a good time to part ways. He gave the Mauvian one last little scratch behind the ear before he forced himself away and waved. “Night!”Ghouliboo OKAY! Bob is too perfect, I want to RP with him again soon 8D <3
