___Aviendha Cordenth___ Matriarch of Dragons Aviendha glanced back at her daughter and then over to Surtr. She supposed she would just have to trust that what he said was true. Certainly the world would be interested in learning of this secret. Some might even be interested in knowing a secret and unguarded way in the citadel. There was of course advantages in knowing what he now knew and if he timed telling it right it could be very useful. But if he was so insistent she would just have to take his word for it. She sighed more heavily than she had any time before. "Ok fine, we can eat." She said before turning her head towards Millenia. "Would you mind going to the kitchens and bringing some food back Nia." After Millenia had left Aviendha moved over to one of the vacant chairs. She gracefully sat herself down and then locked her eyes on Surtr. She was staring, no other way to describe the scrutiny he was under as she examined him and tried to figure him out. Unfortunately his clothing didn't include a written manual for understanding the mage's intentions and goals printed upon the fabric. Finally her brow furrow and she frowned. "How can I really trust that you won't tell anyone about the passage or Millenia... " *Place Holder Format

Millenia would hear her mother would finally agree to food, she would seem a bit excited, her tail moving back and forth "we...we can have food?" she asked smiling before she would be soon asked by her mother to go to the kichen and grab food "YEs mother" she said before she would begin to run off going through the door her mother had come through, she would make sure she would be avoided by most of the people in the capitol. she would remain gone for quite a while aiming to get food for everyone in the room.

¤ Surtr ¤ Location : Unknown room in the dragon kingdom Company : Millenia, Aviendha... Feelings : Curious... ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
As Avi seemed to reluctantly agree to Surtrs request he smiled brightly visibly excited by the opportunity. What a wondrous day indeed! He smirked watching the Nia have the same reaction, it seemed to humor the man that the two had so much in common despite the innocence that surrounded the youngling. Perhaps it was a sign Surtr needed to mature but if after almost 5000 years he hadn't he doubted it would come anytime soon.
As Nia left his gaze shifted to Avi, he too was studying her, making no effort to hide his wandering gaze. It would scan her form searching for reactions trying to discern her intentions just as she was trying to discern his. It was a rather amusing game, quite funny that the two seemed so intent on figuring the other out. As she spokes Surtr nodded his gaze going to the little light atop his head as if conferring with the thing before answering. A moment would pass before his attention turned to her and he smirked softly. "What do I have to gain by telling people? I have no desire to take this kingdom, I do wish to see more of it." He admitted going off on a brief tangent before circling back to the question asked. "By keeping this secret one would believe they've earned some level of trust.... I would very much like to be able to come here and study your lands and people. By keeping her and this a secret I'd expect that to be a possibility. Though I suppose if you didn't want me here I would keep the secret all the same." He said softly his look was unwavering. He wasn't lying but even if he was his face would give no tell of it. It was like a brick wall impenetrable by something like a gaze. Surtr wondered what she would say next. Their game of chess had begun and Surtr had made the first move. He believed he would reacting to her moves for the rest of match though he supposed only time would tell.

___Aviendha Cordenth___ Matriarch of Dragons "I would expect that there is a potential to gain a lot of things by telling, but if there is no political motivation then perhaps not. Personal motivation perhaps so, but if you are really more interested in seeing more of our country then I doubt you have such spite..." She commented. She then leaned forward and put her elbows on her knees. She then rested her chin on the platform made by her hands as she interlaced her fingers together. She stared at him intently once more and a faint glint of light came to eyes. It was hard to tell that they were glowing in the surprisingly well light room. Much more easy to notice the change in her voice. "I suppose I could trust you if you promised me you wont tell." She voice was beautiful, more so than normal. Surtr could be forgiven if he thought she had sung those words as if singing a lullaby. As a mage she figured he had some contraption up his sleeve to protect himself. If not she would get her magically enforce promise. If so she was confident he would at least understand a mother's protectiveness of her offspring and calm her nerves with a promise either way. That done she would finally put her distrust aside and finally let him breath easy about the passing suspicion. She leaned back into the chair. Her right leg lifting and crossing over the thigh of the left leg as got into a comfortable position. "By keeping it I suppose you could. You have at least some trust already if you are allowed to keep it, don't you?" Her attention wandered up to the flame for a moment before returning to Surtr. "Study? Study what about our lands and people exactly?" *Place Holder Format

As she reasoned out loud Surtr would nod along with her train of thought concurring with it. "Indeed." Was all he said. As she leaned forward he would too putting his elbows on the table and interlacing his fingers almost mimicking the queen. With the exception that his chin would rest upon a bridge made up of his two thumbs. This was a much better poker face than Avi's allowing him to conceal his mouth. Of course he only did it to play with the woman but he couldn't help himself. As the glint came to her eyes Surtr's gaze seemed to narrow. Then came her words soft and sweet in his ears it caused a smirk to form as brought his hands down revealing said playful look.
As she wished for a promise his right hand would shuffle and a dagger would drop from his sleeve into his hand. He pressed the blade against his left palm before pulling it back creating a rather deep cut. He closed his left fist and held it out to her the blood beginning to pool about to drip from his hand onto the table. "I will not speak of what I have seen here today...." He said as a few plump drops would find themselves upon the table. Many found this "blood oath" to be the most binding form of bonds there was. Surtr saw no difference between this and simply giving his word but he figured skipping right to the most serious type of promise should suffice.
After he finished his promise his palm would open and the wound would ignite in fire as it sealed up disappearing in a matter of moments. The fire soon dissipated as well leaving his hand as it was before the oath. The dagger had already found itself back into the folds of his robe.
She seemed to ease herself now and it caused Surtr to relax as well. When she spoke Surtr seemed to nod agreeing with her in a way. "I suppose that's correct. Though I guess you are insinuating should you so wish I wouldn't leave this place." Surtr said with a very playful chuckle. Almost as if that proposition intrigued him more. "I wish to study all.... I wish to know all." He said perking up, blunt as she had spoken about when they first met. No sense hiding his intentions. She'd find out sooner or later, as word would travel about Surtr his insatiable desire for more knowledge would be not far behind. "What about you? What do you desire?" He inquired wondering if she would be willing to return the favor and enlighten him on her desires.

___Aviendha Cordenth___ Matriarch of Dragons Now that they had the promise dealt with Aviendha turned her attention to the flame once more. She was definitely more relaxed now that she wasn't feeling protective. His words made her abandon her examination of the flame and she tilted her head. Study all and know all. Now those were some very lofty goals. "Even a mage would find it difficult to pursue knowledge long enough to learn so much." She said with a smile. The smile widened to a toothy grin as he asked what she sought. "I seek a great many things as well I suppose. First of them is what is that?" She turned her red eyes back up to the little flame again as she asked about it. Her curiosity demanded to be fulfilled at the moment and all other questions could wait until after the mage king explained his companion. She was half tempted to think it was a fire sprite or some similar creation. That wasn't likely as a sprite was usually believed to be tied to the fae. Some said elves knew of them still but most believed them to be gone from this world along with the fairies. *Place Holder Format A Just War It's short but I am a little distracted.

soon the door would open from Millenia's return she was rolling a tray which had food on it, she didn't know what to grab so she grabbed anything she could, when one looked at her she had ham in her mouth, her mother knew she loved ham so that wasn't going to be a surprise to the queen, possibly to Surtr. she would move it between the two of them as they were looking and talking to one another "i...didn't know what to bring so i brought a selection...the chef wasn't happy i snuck in and took food...." she stated finishing the ham she had in her mouth. she would look at the two of them wondering what was going to happen now, she had no idea what they were discussing and she probably wouldn't have understood.

¤ Surtr ¤ Location : Unknown room in the dragon kingdom Company : Millenia, Aviendha... Feelings : Curious... ...For out of the ground we were taken... for the dust we are...
As Avi spoke Surtr nodded playfully agreeing with her statement. "It is a fools errand I know.... but a fool will try..." Surtr said implying he was a fool. "I do have certain things I pursue I am not just an aimless wanderer.... Though some would disagree..." Surtr said admitting that to many he does appear to be just a man wandering the world. While this was true to a certain degree Surtr was after particular things. He had a mental list of what he wanted and wished to see and learn. Though revealing the contents of something so precious this early would be a poor move. So unless pressed he would keep such things to himself.
Then she asked the question everyone asked him. The thing all seemed to wonder about. He couldn't blame them it was a curiosity to be sure and especially in a situation like this being aware of such things were prudent. He reached his hand up and scooped Saga from his head now holding it in both his hands the way a child held something very precious to them. As he was about to speak Nia came through the door wheeling a cart of food Surtr seemed to brighten up extremely pleased with what came through the threshold.
Though as she came in her refocused on Avi deciding to answer her question. "This is Saga.... a piece of ancient forbidden magic that I happened upon." He said with a playful smirk blowing upon the orb in his hands. As he did its fire seemed to grow and turn a bright pink as if embarrassed by what had just happened. Surtr returned the orb to its perch on his left shoulder and took a plate with some rather exotic looking fruit upon it. "It gives me great power, but came at great cost." He said taking a deep bite of the fruit allowing a deep 'mmmm' to resonate as its sweet and tangy taste was unlike another piece of fruit he had tasted.
"Wonderful Nia, do you have anymore ham though? I happen to be a fan myself... bacon as well." He said playfully wondering if she would have anything to spare. Though based off her demeanor and obvious love of ham he doubted it being a possibility. Though still he'd ask. "So Avi, I imagine you are even older than I. I wonder what secrets come with that age." He said softly and with a playful tone subtly poking and prodding to see if she would answer that she did know a lot or if she would claim ignorance. The answer would enlighten him to the inner workings of her mind and such.

___Aviendha Cordenth___ Matriarch of Dragons Aviendha smiled slightly. "Well at least you know that much. It improves your standing as a fool." She laughed softly once she finished her reply. What it was he pursued exactly thought was a question. If in fact he had a goal in mind and was not just wandering aimlessly then she was curious as to what it was. If however his goal was no different than to just pursue knowledge in general then she was inclined to agree more with those that say he is just an aimless wandered. An aimless wanderer that blunders into opportunities to learn, or perhaps just lucks into them. She figured he likely saw his current situation as being more a lucked into than a blundered into. Since she expected that Millenia would be returning soon Aviendha decided to hold off on asking about it for now. Instead taking the chance to talk about the curious little fire ball. Surtr reached up and touched it. Aviendha wondered if she could touch it as she watched him. Was it hot or just warm? Millenia came into the room about then though Aviendha didn't spare her a glance. She could smell every food she brought in and was mentalling picking out what she would like to have. As she did so her eyes never once wandered from Surtr and 'Saga'. He claimed it was a piece of ancient magic. He even called it forbidden magic. Was it alive. It seemed alive, but then again most fire seemed to be alive. This was different though. She followed it as Surtr put Saga back onto his shoulder. While he was grabbing his fruit she questioned him more about it. "And why exactly are you wandering into other realms with lost forbidden arts? What exactly is supposedly so forbidden about Sage. You also don't seem to have paid a great cost for it so what did you gain?" Her eyes were moving over his body as she asked about the cost. Most times great costs meant loosing a limb or something, but Surtr was seemingly whole. It was around about then that Aviendha finally looked at her daughter and the food she had brought. She uncrossed her legs and sat forward so that she could move up to perch herself on the edge of her seat. Her hand reaching out towards where she smelt the meat she wanted. She stopped though when she saw Millenia with that slab of ham hanging from her mouth. "NIA! Manners!" She chided softly. Surtr didn't seem to care about it. Perhaps he even thought it was typical or amusing, but from Aviendha's point of view it was just something to reinforce. After all Millenia as a princess needed to keep appearances in mind. She wouldn't be a secret forever. Regardless of if Surtr broke his promise this information would be revealed in due time and the right time. Aviendha grabbed her own meat and some fruits. Getting them onto a plate that she moved to the table that all the chairs in the room were arranged around. It was not a dining table so it was awkward but it would serve. She focused on eating while she listened to Surtr inquire about if Nia had brought any more pork products. She paused and lowered the silverware she was holding. Her fingers moved to make the fork sway up and down as she thought about what to say. It wasn't that she was offended at being asked how old she was. No, rather she was trying to decide how much of a look into her mind she should afford him. She supposed she did at the very least owe him for returning her daughter. He could of just as easily enslaved the girl without ever knowing how important she was. "I would suppose I am a great deal older than you. but since I don't know you that well I cannot say how much. As for the secrets that come with that age. Well what was that saying you humans have about such things? ...For me to know and you to find out?" She grinned playfully at him and went back to enjoying the pile of steak cubes on her plate. *Place Holder Format

Nia would jump a bit when her mother called her name along with the word Manners she would instantly swallow the meat and look at her "s...sorry" she stated looking at her fingers that she was fiddling with. soon Surtr would ask if there was any pork left "um...i...might have,....some bacon...the...ham...didn't make it back to the room...sorry" she stated giving a small bow as she was a bit sad she didn't save any of the ham she ate, she just loved it too much. she would soon sit on the floor grabbing some food as well as she was still hungry eating it, of course she waited until Surtr got food to eat as well as she was trying to be Polite before grabbing more food.

As she spoke about the initial statement Surtr laughed too their laughs going in unison now. "Well Saga comes everywhere with me.... Her and I are connected and as such I dare not leave her behind." Surtr said softly glancing to his little fiery orb a soft smile across his lips. As she mentioned him seeming fine he darted his gaze to her looking intently. "Something great was given, though it was certainly worth the price." Surtr said softly as he jolted from Avi scolding her daughter. It shocked him catching him off guard by doing such a thing.
As she spoke about being a great deal older Surtr chuckled shaking his head. "I very much doubt that.... I'm nearly 5000 years old." Surtr said grabbing some raw bacon and a bunch of over things before sitting on the ground next to Nia playfully smiling as he scooped Saga up. Suddenly she would grow in size as Surtr would set his metal plate atop her. Within a few seconds the sweet aroma of cooked bacon would fill the room. Surtr would remove the plate setting it in his lap before lifting a piece and holding it over Saga. He dropped it and the little fiery orb opened its mouth and down the piece in one go getting big and bright for a few moments before settling down.
He then nudged Nia before licking his fingers and eating a piece. "Please help yourself, and don't worry about the ham I have a penchant for it too." He said with a smile as he looked to Avi now. "I am looking for something in particular. I'll happily share if you don't mind the little one hearing too.... It isn't gruesome or anything."[/]b Surtr said allowing the bacon to cool a bit more before eating another piece. He would share with her, most concluded he was a fool when they heard the answer anyway so why not tell her. She was kind enough to let him into her home and eat with her and her daughter.

___Aviendha Cordenth___ Matriarch of Dragons "It's a she?" Aveindha asked in surprise. She leaned forward slightly and peered intently at the little fireball. She couldn't discern any way to tell what it was. Perhaps it had a voice he could hear like some kind of sentient weapon. She still didn't really get her answer though. All he said is that it was worth it and that he just always takes the little orb with him. Then he moved on to the next subject. She frowned a little and eyed him. "You don't look it," it was hard to tell if she was complimenting him or questioning his honesty. Either way she continued with, "But that means I am still a little bit older than you yet."Her eyes dropping as he took Saga down from his shoulder again and put her on the table. Then he put his plate over her and was using her to cook his bacon. Even more amusing is that he actually fed her one of the slices of bacon off his plate. Upon which she flared up for a moment. "She doesn't mind being used to cook your food like that?" She questioned without really thinking about it. A moment after which he was telling Millenia not to worry about the lack of more ham. The bacon would suffice for now. The moment he was finished with that he was back to questioning Aviendha. "Something particular... Go ahead, I don't mind." She gave her permission for him to continue. after which she resumed eating the steak she had on her own plate. *Place Holder Format

Millenia would just eye both of them as they chatted back and forth, she was eating food the entire time, luckily for her she had a bottomless pit of a stomach so she could just keep eating all day if she wanted, The two seemed to be talking about the orb that was flying around. she just would keep eating and would switch her gaze from her mother to Surtr just listening, wondering exactly the point of the conversation as about, she as gone for some of it and she just was clueless on the entire matter. she did get to watch him feed the orb some bacon, which as weird, she didn't know it ate food, or that it was even alive

"I like to think so." He said playfully running his fingers through the tops of its fiery form as if petting it. "She doesn't actually talk it's more like a link between the two of us. Though she does have some kind of feeling, she tends to get embarrassed whenever I do something worthy.... for example." He said looking to Avi with a playful smirk. He leaned forward his gaze now intense as a very subtle smile graced his lips. "You are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen." He uttered softly and with feeling, the words would dance through the air and the sound of his voice would likely sound soothing as it went to Avi. As soon as he finished saying those words Saga would turn a bright pink and her form would grow a bit as if life had been breathed into her somehow. He chuckled softly before sitting back to resume his previous position. "See? I haven't quite figured her out yet. We are still getting to know each other." He said setting the ball of fire back atop his head to it could rest there proudly.
Saga's gaze would shift to Millenia as if to watch the girl it seemed interested in her like it wanted to play. It's little eyes big as it watched. "Older than me you say? Then you must be quite powerful and wise." Surtr said nonchalantly as if it would be a commonly known fact. He would chuckle at her words about not looking like he sacrificed something it was a rather nice compliment in his eyes. "That's good, it means I am doing my kingdom well. I wouldn't be a very suitable ruler if I looked weak now would I?" He inquired almost rhetorically. Hiding ones weaknesses was a very important thing and something Surtr was quite good at.
"She does things for me and I do things for her. Our relationship is symbiotic in nature. Besides she loves bacon so she'd happily cook it up if it means she'll get a piece." He said glancing up for a moment before looking to Nia and back to Avi excited that he had been given permission to reveal what he was after. "I am looking for the Fae...." He said before eating another piece of bacon, he savored the piece as if he hadn't tasted something so delicious in many a fort night.
"...I know a fools errand, they are long gone. Though I find it difficult to believe they would go so quietly into the night. I believe at least one remains..." Surtr said his tone rather serious. She probably thought him a fool, perhaps even stupid. Though Surtr had never let the words of others ever change his mind. He had seen most of this world and he stopped assuming things long ago. Until he could prove the Fae were gone conclusively there was no way he would believe they were. To allow such a mystery to remain unsolved was in his mind a travesty. A great oversight by those of this world and something Surtr sought to rectify.

___Aviendha Cordenth___ Matriarch of Dragons Aviendha watched Surtr seemingly pet the orb of fire. As he did so she observed it's reactions and listened to his explanations. It turns out he had no real concrete reason to believe Saga was female. Just a strong feeling that it was in fact the case. His reasoning came from the way the weird entity responded to him in certain. The matriarch of the dragons tilted her head as she listened to the what Surtr told Saga. A part of her wasn't sure if it was meant to be aimed at just the little fire ball. Either way while Aviendha gave no reaction the orb of flames turned a very obvious pink and flared up once more like she had done when the slice of bacon was dropped into her. She hummed thoughtfully as she lifted her eyes to his face. "I see."With that the discussion about the odd fireball seemed to have reached it conclusion and Surtr returned to the topic of age. Aviendha rocked her head forward once in a nod. That was the only reply she offered to being older than him as well as being powerful and wise from her age. "It seems you know at least that much about dragons from your outdated texts." She wasn't entirely sure on how him not having an obvious sign as to a price he had to pay to get Saga related to his efficiency as a ruler. Perhaps there was something and he kept it hidden. A weakness of sorts that needed to be guarded against. Surtr returned to the topic of Saga in order to respond to her question about his use of her. She pursed her lips a little. "Well I suppose anyone would do something for something they like." Her gaze shifted to her daughter. She could only imagine what kind of things Millenia might do if she was offered a thirty pound ham roast or something of the like. She finished the last of her steak, or almost the last of it. What Surtr said his objective in poking around the territories of the various races surprised her so much she dropped her fork. It clattered on the plate. Aviendha blinked and mentally shook herself. Her hand picking the form up once more so she could eat that last piece of steak and then put the fork down. She pushed the plate away from her since it was now empty. Aviendha's red eyes stared at Surtr. It seemed she was reevaluating how much of a fool he was. Eventually she let out a soft but long sigh. "You're actually serious aren't you." She didn't give him a chance to answer. Just observed his reaction and cut him off when he opened his mouth. "Yeah I thought so. Don't they usually say things all some to an end with a whisper and not a bang? Why is it so odd to think they just vanished?" She asked. It was probably just he saw a chance for a mystery. Someone who really wanted to learn and gain as much knowledge as possible would be drawn to anything that hinted to a mystery. They couldn't abide to leave a box unopened. *Place Holder Format
