"So..." He rocked on his heels as the elevator climbed floors, casting a glance over to the other. "Building seems nice. How long did it take you to find this place?" The chatter was idle; an attempt to keep the silence from lingering long enough to become awkward. Although he'd come to enjoy quiet and the chance to reflect in it, he preferred it to be on his own terms. He also hated elevators. The rise caused an unpleasant feeling in his stomach and, depending on the floor, he might have simply preferred taking the stairs.

"Not long actually. It used to belong to Fiona and she said I could use the place since she's got the house now." Arin was lucky and his apartment was only up on the 4th floor so the elevator ride wasn't that long. "Means I have an understanding landlord too while I work on finding ... well work." When the elevator opened again he stepped out and headed down the hall toward his door.

"At least work is the only thing that you have to worry about finding. New identities are a little harder to come by." There was a light smirk on his lips as he spoke, although the expression didn't make it the whole way to his eyes. It had taken work to get him a new ID and registered for a social security number. Magic had covered and accounted for some things, but it hadn't been able to fix everything. He uncrossed his arms as he followed the other man out into the hall, tucking his hands into his pockets to keep from fidgeting. He had a strong feeling that the anxiousness would drive Lucien nuts now, and had before. "What kind of work are you looking for?"

He headed down the hall and unlocked his door, holding it open for Sumi to pad inside and waiting until Arin had gone in as well. he shut and locked it, trying not to roll his eyes as Sumi immediately jumped up onto the kitchen counter. "I'm not sure yet. My degree sort of doesn't help unless I want to be a teacher. I did some freelance photography work when I was in school so I've been thinking about that." He did still have his trust fund so he wasn't completely broke but he would need to find a job. Sumi was happier now that he was more eye-level with the other two and sat down on the end of the breakfast bar. "Tea? Please?" Arsinoe usually made a pot when he got home and if they were going to talk that would make things nicer.

"Assuming since you're thinking about freelance that you're not interested in teaching? You could always post something up on one of the boards at the university for tutoring too. Might not bring in a whole lot, but there are a number of people always looking for a way to get that one up, especially when it's time for finals." If he'd cared at all about his grades during his last semester he would have been one of those people in an attempt to pull things together. He stepped up to the bar, lightly tapping his fingers against the counter without thinking about it. The action was half out of habit and half because he was used to cats responding to seeing things moving. He still wasn't all too used to the talking cat bit...

"I dont know if I have the right temperament to be a teacher. Not exactly the most patient person out there." He grinned slightly. "Do you want some tea? Or anything to drink?" He went to get down a couple of mugs for himself and Sumi and another for Arin if he wanted it. He knew what kind of tea Sumi wanted and dropped a bag of that into a wide mouthed mug before pondering what he wanted. "Tutoring might not be a bad idea though. Plenty of people who want their kids to do better and people who need help cramming."

"I'll have some of whatever you're having." He nodded, hand stilling when he didn't automatically catch Sumi's attention with the finger tapping. "Actually, have you had dinner yet? I don't know how long you're going to want me hanging around here, but if you wouldn't mind pizza or Chinese I'll cover the bill for it." It would give them something else to talk over instead of just tea-- A distraction, maybe? "You should look into the tutoring. You helped me out a lot back in highschool."

"That's because I am a nerd." His grin was wiry as he set set two more tea bags into the other mugs and went to fill up the electric kettle. "I haven't had pizza in a while and there's a place not far that delivers. I think there's a menu somewhere..." While the kettle heated he poked around in the drawers to see where he'd left the menus. Sumi looked between the two for a moment before shrugging and shifting closer to Arin. He leaned down to butt his head against Arin's hand hoping the knight would scratch his ears. "As long as I get some tuna."

"If you don't have a menu I do have a phone." He smirked softly as he lifted his hand once the feline butted against it, eying the cat for a moment before giving him a light scratch behind his ears. "They don't usually put tuna on pizza, Sumi. You might be able to get anchovies, but unless you actually enjoy small, salty fish." He tried very hard not to make a face just in case the cat was a fan of sardines. He couldn't quite get past the smell of them himself. "Do you remember the name of the place, Luc?"

"No. I only ordered something from there once. It was good so I kept the ... ha, menu." He pulled it out from under a small pile of kitchen towels and held it out so Arin could take it. "I eat whatever on a pizza so pick whatever you want." Sumi looked up, nuzzling up at the knights hand so he'd keep scratching his ears. "Luc keeps packets around for me cause it's tasty. Pizza has too much cheese."

He dialed the number after looking at the menu for a bit, ordering a medium white pizza with spinach on top along with a second pizza, light on the sauce with extra cheese and half pepperoni. He gave the man on the other end his card information before making a face, pulling his wallet out to double-check the number and give it again. He paused to get the address from Luc after to confirm delivery information before ending the call. "Alright. We should have pizza in the next thirty-- And you said that Fiona owns this place?" His brow lofted. "It's a nice spot. Definitely an upgrade from dorm life, right?"

"Yea, it's been nice to have somewhere that's 'mine' and that's actually close to things. Cordy's place isn't too far and anywhere i need to go is an easy bus ride away." It was much better than what he'd probably have settled on by himself and a little bigger than he needed but he liked it. "Much better upgrade. Little big for just me and a cat since I kinda feel like I'm wasting the extra room but I just pretend that door's not there." Or he tried to. Sometimes he half expected someone to come out of it but he was not going to look for some stranger to have as a roommate.

"Have you put any thought into getting a roommate? Or maybe setting a room up for Sumi?" His smirk was teasing, although he gave the cat another scratch behind the ears for emphasis only to slowly stroke his hand down along the cat's back in an idle manner. He'd never had a pet as a child-- Always wanted a dog, but in the time he'd spent volunteering at animal shelters to catch up on community service he'd enjoyed spending time with the cats. "I've been staying with Fiona since they got me out of the hospital. It was easier to keep me there, I guess-- Fewer connections to Cordelia that could be traced and less stairs than her apartment." He snorted softly, shaking his head slowly.

"Not really. I mean given everything that I might have to explain?" It had been a bit easier in school since Arin, Rik, either hadn't noticed him going out or hadn't cared. Now someone who was his age was bound to notice something off about him. "Odd hour and weird injuries aside do you really think Sumi would be able to stop himself from talking with someone else around? Cause I know the answer to that one." Sumi huffed, though he'd started purring at the petting from Arin. He did like being cuddled and since the two boys were talking this was probably as good as it was going to get. "I'd have to get someone else who was also tangled up in this mess and that's not really something you can put in an advert."

"Y'know, we didn't do all that badly when we were rooming together." His smirk turned into an easy grin. "Granted, we were both sneaking out then... And it's not like that wasn't one of the reasons why I wound up at Hillworth anyways." His father had assumed that it would be a way to control him; to keep him in line. "I don't think Luc gives you enough credit, Sumi." He gave the cat another light scratch behind the ear before drawing his hand back. "How's the tea coming along?"
